Good but not plug and play

Certainly portable and useful but i found out the hard way that for my Elekraft KX2, i needed to physically disengage a plated jumper and resolder another 3 for RS232 protocol (what the radio uses). The digirig site does say this might be needed but doesn’t show how, so had to dig through online forums to be sure. Still, setup was not a breeze and them the device is literally hardwired to that setting (which they could do at least with a removable bridge jumper, leaving aside the cumbersome fact it would still require disassembly). So mixed frelings in general. Especially because for the most part I can just connect the KX2 to my phone via a simple audio-to-usb cable and work through VOX triggering instead of CAT control.

Excellent digital mode interface in a tiny package

This little audio interface is incredible. I figured that the interface would be about the size of my hand and I didn't even see it when I opened the package. Wait, that tiny little cardboard box down there? Yes, it's that small! About the size of a 9V battery. And it's awesome.

I hooked it up to Graywolf, the APRS software modem that I've been working on, and immediately got packets.

Excellent all in one solution for Xiegu G90

Bought the Digirig after having issue getting my Signalink to work with the Xiegu G90. This little box is amazing. All in one solution that is seamless and works wonders getting the G90 to talk to the laptop to run digital modes. Integrated rig control works well with Flrig and WSJTX. Be sure to grab the right cables as they are not included.

Xiegu G90 + Digirig + CAT control cables. Works better than Signalink!

Bought the Signalink first and took forever so I bought this one to play with. Turns out I prefer the Digirig for several reasons:

1) CAT control set up. Signalink is a PIA for support and I got Digirig running much easier with Flrig and use it for both WJST-X and Fldigi. Do a youtube search for "Getting FLRig to Play Nice with the Xiegu G90" by ErnieTech and he's got a great short video to get it going.

2) Form factor. This thing is TINY. Great for POTA and SOTA when space is a premium.

3) Cost Half the price of a Signalink. Buy two and keep one with each respective radio for the price of one bulky Signalink.

4) Solid construction. Aluminum body. Signalink probably fine with POTA/SOTA rough housing in a bag but this thing is like a little tank.

Don't forget to buy the cables too!

Good stuff!
