Disappointed by faulty, distorted sound and pedal action
I ordered this unit for a holiday function (to entertain the kids) and to replace another cheaper unit that I previously had thinking this one that cost more (twice as much) would be better, but would find that it really wasn’t. I wanted to continue the fun from the previous holiday that the last unit provided and it did that (kids aren’t that hard to please) but it would still have the same kind of problems in the pedals with their physicality and overall action being very unusable; And, problems with distortion of its overall sound, distortion that would become more pronounced after the pedals were plugged in.
Although I’m an experienced drummer who owns both acoustic and full size electronic drum kits, I think I was a bit conned by the video that shows how well it worked and my thinking I could easily do as good as her and being hopeful that it’d indeed be all that (ego deflate). But that’s OK because you live and you learn and although I would’ve liked it to be, I’ve learned that this roll-up category of drum set isn’t for me. I might actually still try another unit Donner offers, the Donner model DED-50T unit, not only because it looks much more solid and playable but because it looks like the connections for the pedals are larger ¼” single channel connectors that I’m hoping might be able (I’ll probably contact them first to verify) to connect to the base drum pad from my “real” larger E-Kit that will allow the use of a pedal with real drum pedal action.
If I was a maker of this kind of product I would treat it less like a toy and more like an instrument by recognizing that the base drum makes up at least 30% (sometimes much more) of the drum set playing experience and design them with this in mind. It wouldn’t cost much more to include industry standard ¼” single channel connections for the pedals so that these units (roll-up and table top) could be used with the pedals from larger actual electronic drum sets. The little box pedals could still suffice for high hat control but it should include a better pedal for the base drum (even if it costs more), and/or include the cheap pedals only as starters and offer pedal upgrades as an additional purchase. That way these units would not only be more like instruments that a beginner can progress and gain skills on but also be much more usable and desirable to a wider array of users opening up more product sales; all of this starting from a simple low cost change in the pedal connections. These products would then be more usable, versatile, sell more, increase customer satisfaction and be a win win with everybody happy (with fewer returns). But that’s just whats I would do.

Great beginner drum kit
The product was quick and easy to setup. To my surprise some of the features were not listed in the description, but were present on the product. It is a great starter set for someone young or old.The headphone jack is a HUGE plus, saves all the extra noise.can setup on any surface and easy to pack up.

Having fun is playing a fun beat on the drums
This is a fun toy drum kit for any kid who wants to play a beat on the drums. It’s got some very good digital drum samples that sound like the real thing. It comes with a pair of wooden drumsticks that when you hit the pads the drum sound is triggered. When I hit the pads in the middle, they respond better than if I miss the middle. A couple of nice features are the built-in stereo speakers and especially the volume controls on the dashboard. They can be a bit loud. But if you want them louder there’s an output to plug into an outside amp & speakers or even a guitar amplifier.
A fun addition is the ability of adding your favorite songs in the mp3 format to play along with them and record them as well. All I did was drop some songs onto a thumb drive, plugged it in and it worked fine. This set is a fairly good value and can provide hours of fun for every kid who can or can’t carry a beat. It’s all about having fun.

Company Provided Troubleshooting Tips That Improved Sound
I'm replacing my original negative review because I don't feel like I gave this Donner Electronic Drum Set a fair chance. My plan is to put some effort into learning how to play this drum pad to see if I really want to learn how to play drums at my age, and before making a sizeable investment in a full drum set. Honestly, it's kind of tough to find a good place to set up a pad like this and comfortably play it. The company contacted me and gave these suggestions to improve the sound quality:
"Troubleshooting: Please place the product on a relatively hard flat surface, such as the floor and desktop, and then use your hand to vigorously press all the pads to discharge all the air inside to solve the problem. (No need to connect electricity)"
I like that one side can be lower than the other so I could set up the drum pad at an angle. Tonight I set it up and this is a video of the first time I started tapping on the drum pad. As an adult beginner, I know I've got a long way to go. But this was fun.
Young children will love this drum pad because they can just set it on the floor and bang on the drums all day and be thrilled. If you're older and maybe a beginner like me, make sure you set the pad up on a solid surface and push all the air out of each drum pad as the company suggests. It certainly made a night-and-day difference in my opinion of the product. I love playing on it now!

Easy to setup, easy to use
Easy set up, easy to use. very portable.
Beats buying your kids a full drum set.
I don't know enough about what I should expect from sound quality to say whether this is up to par.
But there is clear differentiation of sounds.
Giftable.

Drum roll .... for this electric drum pad.
This electric drum pad is not only a space saver but delivers good quality music too.
The material is soft, not only with sticks but even it's fun to play drums with fingers. More than my kid, i am enjoying this product a lot!!!
Products like this are real fun for kids. The options given are quite fantastic, it comes with pedal drum pads too. Recording, demo sounds, tempo are great additions.

Fun to play but a little sensitive
I need to preface this by saying I am not a drummer. Thought this would be fun to play with and it definitely is.
This comes with everything you need, it is a usb c-cable cord that comes with a brick. There is a double sided headphone jack cord. The foot pedals have an attached cord that is pretty long, in the video I'm including you can see them up on the table but that is just so you could see that I am pressing them down.
This is a flexible no-skid mat that you put on a table so a tv tray would be a good thing to have. It comes with the drum sticks. On the back you can see that there are spots to plug in headphones, mp3, charging cord and foot pedals, this is also where the on/off switch is. On the top are various buttons that control the style of the sound the pad produces, a rhythm to play along with, a drum demo that you can play along with, volume controls and tempo controls. You can even record what you play and play it back.
The volume controls go quite loud to very quiet. It is pretty easy to use and the mat can be rolled up for storage or travel. My only complaint is it is a little sensitive at times, I would get near the pad and it played but it could just be where I had it on the table because it only did this one or twice while I was trying out the buttons on the top.
Either way this would make a great gift and minimal investment for a kid who is interested in learning to play the drums.

Play some smooth beats!
Great drum pad for the house and the young and old rockers at heart! The sound is good but some of the beats are a little off. Over all this pad is a great time and myself and my two boys 7-6 years old played for hours after opening. I would recommend this to anyone who loves to walk to their own beat!

Every kids dream!
The sound and quality of this drum mat set is really nice. I'm not a professional musician of course but to me it sounds like a great drum set. It has lots of options on it as well such as recording, demo songs, style, rhythm. It comes with 2 drumsticks, an auxiliary cord, the mat, 2 foot pedals, the power cord, and instructions.

Fun and portable
This comes neatly packed and has (almost) everything you need to have some fun whether you’re an adult or child. All you need is a power supply. You can also use your own wired headphones for convenience. It has a demo mode for each style which can give you examples of what any particular style can sound like. It has a rhythm mode that will play piano melodies depending on which style you choose too. You can change the tempo from slow to fast on any demo/rhythm setting. The built in speakers can go relatively loud too without getting too distorted. It’s a soft rubber base so it’s easy to pack up and bring to a friend’s house or take it on the go.

Fun toy.
My young son wants a drum set and I was thinking about buying a electric set to minimize the noise. Those are expensive so I thought I'd get this to see if he at least will enjoy it enough to invest the money on a kit.
Pros. Good sound, volume control, small, pedals work great. Cool recording feature. Come with wall plug.
Cons. The sounds will trigger on the wrong pad. (Seen in video at the end) You have to fidget with it to lay right to minimize this from happening.
My major gripe is that the high hat pad is in the wrong spot. It should be switched with the snare for a more realistic play.
If this cost more my rating would be lower. It's a fun toy.
