I put this stereo in my garage and will use it for both inside the garage and outside in the yard. The fact that the amp has 6 separate channels means that I can have 3 different zones of stereo sound AND I can adjust the relative volume of each zone separately. This will allow me to entertain people in the yard and garage at the same time. In the past, the speakers in the garage would be way too loud if they were at the same volume as the speakers in the yard.

The receiver is really powerful, so that is good. I won't use much of it, but it ensures clean sound at lower volumes. The receiver was easy to install, just like any other receiver. It did not include AAA batteries for the remote, so make plans to have a pair. It is a great value fo the money and I'm very happy with it. It was easy to get working. It paired quickly with my phone through bluetooth.

Donner Stereo Receiver

This is a great receiver. I would definitely recommend it. It didn't work for me simply because I was looking for a receiver that I could control with my TV remote through the hdmi connection.

Just ok

I got this amplifier/receiver to run my setup,that has both indoor and outdoor speakers. My previous setup used a speaker switch for multiple zones which worked but didn’t allow for level control between zones. My problem was compounded by the fact that I was running both 4 ohm and 8 ohm speakers.

This unit allows for three zones and has volume knbs for both left and right channels in each zone. I got the level balanced by running the 4 ohm at 25% and the 8 ohm at about 75%.. the remote then has a master volume that controls the final level.

The amount of control is nice but maybe overly complex.

The unit itself appears to be well built and the connectors were clearly marked.

The down side is the fidelity.

While it is completely adequate for misaligned playing ceiling speakers it falls short for any level of audiophile. The sound lakes any depth or warmth. I fiddled with the bass and treble settings but with limited success. I am using vintage Klipsch kg-4’s that typically sound the best with no augmented equalization.

This unit will be ok if you need to run multiple speakers for background music.

Decent receiver for the price

I got this receiver to use out by my swimming pool. For the money this receiver is a pretty good value. There are several features, including a tuner, Bluetooth inputs, and the receiver has six channel output. The six channel output it’s very interesting. in some ways, it’s a little strange to turn up the volume to different speakers or set the speakers independently. On the good side it gives the user very fine control over balancing the volume coming out of different speakers as you’re listening. Overdrive is a decent receiver for the money

Excellent stereo sound

This is a great addition to my movie/listening room. I ran my projector stereo out in to the input of this amplifier and boy did it liven up my movies. Since I run a stereo 2.0 setup, this really works great. I also use it in a different way. I run my guitar effects board into the Aux input on the front, and I can watch tutorial videos and play my guitar along with the lessons and backing tracks. It has bass, mid, and trebel knobs so you can EQ the sound, and the bass response is huge along with the very clear highs. This really helps me to hear the dialogue in movies much better than a lot of systems that don't allow you to eq the center channel. The mic inputs allow for karaoke parties which is a lot of fun, especially with the ability to use two mics at once. Linking up to my phone with Bluetooth was really easy and again, the sound is really full and impressive. I'm also running my turntable into one of the inputs. It does not have a phono preamp, but with an external preamp, you can really hear the full audio experience with your old vinyl. I think a perfect scenario for this amp could be a business or store which needed sound throughout the different rooms because you could easily set the volume in different areas with the volume knobs, then use the master music volume knob to control it all at once. Overall, the amp has a lot of good features, sounds incredible, and has many options for running sound with a lot of different speakers in different zones. Add in the karaoke (or could be used as a PA system) and it's a power packed amp.

A lot of power for the price!

This Donner stereo receiver has a lot of power and functions for the price. I used this receiver to replace my older Sony system, which was outdated, heavy and cumbersome. This receiver has everything I need to reconnect my surround system and outdoor speakers. I also like that it has Bluetooth capability which my older Sony did not. I have become very spoiled with Bluetooth; it makes setting up a new system a lot easier. The receiver came well packaged and in new condition. The sound is good, but I attribute that more to the quality of my speakers than the receiver. Still, a good deal for use in a surround or outdoor speaker system.

Affordable, Flexable, Powerful Receiver

The box contained 1 - Donner stereo receiver, antenna, remote and instructions. This stereo receiver is very powerful at 1000 watts. Setup was very easy by just plugging in the components you want. I hooked up 4 home stereo 12" speakers with highs and mid-range, each in its own speaker case. This Donner system pushed each one hard, and the stereo never got hot as it has an internal cooling fan. The power is there. I like how you can us this system as a home theater because you can raise or lower the sound level in each of the six speakers individually. I like the Bluetooth/DVD, CD, Aux, Optical, Coaxial, FM Radio and USB functions to link components to this stereo. I used the supplied antenna; it caught some radio stations but was a little weak and caught just a few. I also like the microphone option. The bass, treble and mid-range options are very limited, but it provides minor adjustability to the sound quality. The remote is a nice control feature, but you must be in front of the receive to use it. I believe the price to be reasonable. I am satisfied with this product.

Well made receiver for the right speaker setup

I’m a guitarist so my setup is all amps, pedals, and powered speakers. This receiver is built for a completely different type of system using passive speakers that wire into the red and black terminal clips. I don’t own those which is why I couldn’t get any usable sound.

I tried Bluetooth, aux, USB, mic, and radio with every volume knob turned up. All I got was the fan running and a faint bit of audio. Their customer support team explained exactly why my gear is just not compatible with this type of unit.

The build feels solid with a clean layout and a good weight. I’m updating my rating to four stars as a fair placeholder since I can’t test it the way it is meant to be used. If I ever get the right speakers I will update this with full impressions. For the right setup it should make sense.

high power

This stereo receiver brought new life to my old speakers. It’s powerful, with enough channels to set up a nice home audio system or even a karaoke setup. The Bluetooth connection works well with my phone, and the included mic inputs are great for family parties.

The sound is clean and loud without distortion, and I was impressed with the number of ports and customization options. The remote control is a bit basic, but it works fine for volume and input changes.

Overall, this receiver is a feature-packed, high-power amp that’s ideal for home audio or hobby DJ setups. Big sound, lots of inputs, and excellent value.

Package was in excellent condition. Opened box and removed unit from plastic bag. There were three speaker wire clips and a small spring in the bag. Other than the flimsy speaker wire clips the product looks solid. Will probably be returning the item.

Excellent Amp for Stereo Audio

This is a great amp, but it may not be for everyone. If you’re looking for a living room amp with surround sound decoding, this isn’t the amp you’re looking for. If you need a subwoofer output, this also isn’t the right choice. However, this amp is PERFECT for people with stereo audio who want to play it to one or more pairs of speakers. It’s a great option for a multi-room setup.

If all you need is stereo, this amp is great. The Bluetooth works well, it has a variety of input and playback options, and the sound is clean and undistorted except at the highest volume levels. The individual volume controls for each speaker are a very nice feature and quite rare. Build quality is excellent, and the internal fan is very responsive: it only comes on during really high volume levels (when you won’t notice it) and shuts off immediately when you turn the volume down.

If you need a stereo amp with flexible input options and multiple outputs, this amp is a great value and will be hard to beat. If you’re looking for multi-channel audio or surround sound, this isn’t the amp for you.

Pretty nice value and functional stereo, has good sound, several features

If you've priced stereo systems lately, you know some can be very pricey and expensive to replace or upgrade. This unit from Donner is a good value, is well made and provides most of the features of the more expensive units out there.

The unit has a bit of weight to it, probably due to having a larger transformer in it than the really cheap units out there. I've bought cheaper units over time, and they always seem to be very light in weight which usually means they aren't as well made as the beefier feeling units. This one is close to the same level as more expensive stereos as far as weight is concerned.

The stereo has several great features; Bluetooth, which is very easy to pair with your device, USB capability - you can play music from a USB stick, a PA or karaoke function to use at parties or as a public address system, etc. as well as FM radio reception. On the back there are optical and coaxial interfaces for smart TV use, along with RCA jacks to hook up DVD players, game systems, etc.

The stereo has 12 separate speaker inputs on the back and six separate volume controls on the front allowing you to adjust six pairs of speakers to your own liking. A great feature too is once you have the speaker sound adjusted to your preference, there is a music know on the front which allows you to adjust the volume up or down, you don't have to adjust each speaker set individually once you have them set. The stereo doesn't have "surround sound" per se but you do have the ability to adjust those six speaker sets individually so in effect, that is your "surround sound". I deducted one star because the stereo doesn't have true surround sound, there is no woofer function, nor any Dolby or other sound enhancing capability. But even so, the stereo sounds pretty good, especially if you have good speakers and I'm more than happy with the clarity and clear sound it provides.

The PA and karaoke functions work well, as demonstrated in the video review I posted. The included remote has a lot of functions making the unit very easy to use. This unit would make for a pretty good sound system for an in-home theater system, especially with the ability to adjust six different speaker sets strategically placed.

Overall, this is a pretty nice stereo system and one which will do the job without costing you a fortune. It has plenty of features but if you're wanting a stereo loaded with all the bells and whistles and more knobs than you can count, this one isn't for you. But if you're wanting a simple to use, functional stereo that gets the job done, this is the one you want; I highly recommend it.
