Base drum needs to be replaced.

There is a crack in the bass drum shell

I took a picture.

Can it be replaced?

Delivered with Damage!

It arrived and the packing did not appear to be damaged. Once I opened it I observed the base drum was damaged. The metal ring that goes around the base drum is severely deformed. There is also damage to the wood. I attempted to contact a human at the Donner company but they have very limited hours apparently. I sent a message to the customer service department. I am hoping I will get a base drum replacement. I will update this post in a few days to report whether or not the company has rectified this matter or not. I understand, things get banged up, lets see if they have great customer services.

Arrived Damaged

Will update, my daughters birthday is tomorrow and it arrived just in time but it’s too late to get a replacement now. Seems to sound good, but disappointed about the damage.

Love it!

Some parts were rusted but I was able to clean them. Med Tom had a break in the wood and I had to repair a nut for one of the lugs. No biggie. This is my first set ever and I’m in love with it. Dream come true!

Disappointing purchase

I’m just taking the product out of the box and there is so much damage that it is hard to put together. On of the hoops is so bent that it’s not longer a circl. Managed to get it on but there are gaps and can’t get the drum head smooth. It sort of buckles.

Really a disappointing purchase!

Exactly what I Ordered and Expected

I have zero experience with drums or drum assembly: it was not the easiest thing I’ve ever done, but it only took me about an hour to get completely set up and start playing.

It sounds great and looks great, all pieces arrived intact and as expected. No complaints here!

Which side heads are on prior and add washers

Did not come with easy to follow directions ended up using youtube Purchased this product for 13-year-old the only problem she has with it it’s really not a problem at all she would like two or three more sets of symbols she added her current stand alone snare. She is extremely happy but did ask for another stool 😀

Awesome quality

Awesome, got this set for my 12 year son for Christmas 2020. Excellent set. Excellent quality. Easy set up.

Beginner set must!

We got our son this for Christmas and he loves it. He started drum lessons a few months ago, he is 13 and it is perfect for him while he continues to learn. We do intend to slowly buy new pieces in a year or so to keep updating the set but it is worth it for the price for anyone who is starting out and learning. Good sound for the price easy to tune with tune bot and assembling it was very easy, it just took time.

Entry level set that's a great value.

This drum kit offers more pieces than most others in its price range, is full size and surprisingly good quality. My 10 year old loves it and I'm having a great time using it as well.

Only negatives are:

1) the myriad pieces needed to assemble...think assembling Ikea furniture. It takes a while.

2) The sticks are terrible.

The cymbals aren't the greatest sounding, but if you're a beginner or early stage drummer that's irrelevant.

Broken and Missing Items

Snare Drum is broken and lug nut that secures the Middle and High Tom Tom Drums is missing. Help!!!

Came damaged

Bass/kick drum came cracked around edges in two different spots. Now it can't be tuned properly and not worth the expense to ship it back due to size.

Great full size student set!

Drum sets can be very expensive (thousands of dollars) or the very cheap models can be very bad and disappointing. This set strikes the balance between usability and features and affordability. The set is well constructed out of real wood and is quite attractive. This is a full size set, not a toy or kid set, and I am a proponents of kids (unless they are really young) to learn on a full size drum set. It took him about an hour to assemble. I have purchased several Eastar instruments and I love their level of attention to details, like providing a few extra bolts for assembly. The kit comes with a throne (that's what drummers call the stool they sit on :) ), a set of sticks and a drum key for assembling and tuning it, so you're ready to play after assembly. The heads (the plastic "skin" that you bang on) are good general purpose ones. Drummers can get "religious" about what heads they prefer, so once you become more proficient you may want to change them for the type you prefer. In their item description, Eastar seems particularly proud of the snare drum, which is often the weak point of cheaper sets. It does sound quite good and has great bounce and clarity. The snare stand is well built and provides a comfortable angle. The snare drum skin is textured rather than being smooth, not sure if it's part of the snare sound design? it *might* get dirty faster?

The cymbals are also good beginner cymbals. Once you know what you like, you may decide to upgrade them to more professional ones, but this entire drum set is cheaper than what some cymbals go for and sound much better than the "pots and pan lids" that came with another brand's cheap set a friend got last Christmas.

All in all, a great value for the beginner (why spend thousands if you're not sure you're going to stick with it) but also a potential set for the gigging musician that doesn't want his expensive set to get damaged when playing at a bar, or needs a second set for the practice space.
