This mic is build like a tank!

I love how it sounds and how good this mic is. and the best part, i dont need an in line preamp to boost it out. set it up with a dbx 286s and m-audio air and bam it sounds like you are in a studio. quite pricey since i am from Malaysia, but its a price i am willing to pay for the quality they gave me.

This is not as gain hungry as the sm7b

Quality of construction is excellent! Well worth the asking price

Impressive microphone with excellent vocal qualities

The EV RE320 is built like a main battle tank and has a sound capturing quality that is splendid. My main purpose is for vocal recordings for podcasting and voice-over work. Right out of the box it produced excellent sounds, with little to no off axis pickup. I saw a local radio DJ using the smaller shock mount and I prefer it over the larger obtrusive types. It gives great quality without high gain and I think its noise floor is nonexistent.

Out of 14 mics, the EV RE320 is my everyday studio favorite.

I have tried 14 different microphones including some pricey condensers for my audiobooks, voiceover work, radio shows, and podcasts, and the EV RE320 is hands-down my absolute favorite. It's 45 Hz response is low enough to capture the sweet harmonics of my Morgan Freeman impersonation, and it's upper end is surprisingly perky without all the extraneous noise junk some of my other mics pick up (my Rode is awfully noisy). I record hours of voice audio daily and I've done two-mic comparisons on separate tracks, and still, I prefer the RE320 even over my RE20. No phantom power required, and that's always sweet, and it's pretty easy to fix levels in post. Listen to the video with this review - that was recorded completely off-axis with the RE320! A few recommendations:

It is a little pricey, but it's very well made and completely isolates all the booms and bumps that make audio sound amateur.

-- You really don't need a pop filter with this mic, since there's adequate insulation built in. I use one to keep the gunk out of mine when guests who are dentally challenged visit my studio.

You can hear this mic live on the radio on Indie Originals, in my Audible audiobooks, on my YouTube channel, and in my country music projects. I'm lovin' it. I now own 4 of them!

A REAL radio station microphone for podcasting!

I have a podcast and all I wanted was for my microphone to make it sound professional just like a REAL radio station. I found that in the EV RE320 microphone. It sounds brighter than the RE20 which sounds tinny to my ears. This mic is WONDERFUL! There is so much depth to the vocal quality of it and it met all my expectations regarding clarity. I looked at many different microphones, but this one had all the quality I was looking for at the best price. Do yourself a favor and get a microphone that has the quality of Electro Voice and you'll save a lot of headaches.

PROS:

- BIG radio station sound

- Responsive and bright, clear sound

CONS:

- Sometimes it sounds muddy or distorted ONLY if you are right on top of the mic or have the volume too loud.

Best Out-Of-Box Mic for YouTube/Podcasts/Streaming

This mic is a BOSS and a lot better than just about any other mic I've seen or used out-of-the-box for voice over. It sounds great even before processing, and with some compression and EQ, it sounds fantastic. It rejects a ton of background noise and sounds amazing.

It runs very HOT! So you'll want clean pre-amping as to get a clean signal, but this is an amazing mic for the price.

Simply Put. This Mic ROCKS!

I have worked in radio for over 12 years as well as voiceover. My main microphone has been the big brother to this one. Most radio studios you enter use the RE20. That being said when I recieved this RE 320 I was blown away. I have done my radio show with it exclusively for the past 8 months and love it! This mic ROCKS! This microphone has XLR connections so be sure to use good mixer with those standard connections for a top quality mic like this. When you first get this microphone you immediately notice the professional look and feel to it. It is all that you would imagine it to be. Simply put this mic is top quality and produces great sound even without processing. 5 STARS!
