Better than two previous brands👍

Very good hearing aids. Squeaky at first because of abnormal ear canal shapes from ocean swimming (cold water). Customer Service rep Fiona helped me solve it. All day battery charge. Good phone connection and streaming podcasts, books and NYT.

Amazing otc hearing aids

I am in my 30s with mild to moderate hearing loss. I didnt have the money to purchase my $5k hearing aids so I tried a few otc ones(returning all) until I found these!! The sound clarity is phenomenal and I love all the features and being able to adjust each ear individually. Also they reduce soooo much background noise especially when you switch to maximum. These are truly amazing and a game changer. If you're considering buying these DO IT!! You won't regret it. Thank you Elehear I am one happy customer..

Excellent voice improvements at a terrific price.

I have now been wearing hearing aids for over six years. I know my hearing is slowly getting worse, so I was very happy to be given the chance to review the ELEHEAR-Beyond Pro Hearing Aids. I originally reviewed their first OTC hearing aids and was quite impressed how good they were for the price. After wearing the Pros for awhile, I can say that they are even better.

These are maybe one-third the price of the hearing aids I got over 6 years ago. I now find that the Elehears are making voices crisper sounding than my old hearing aids, and that is where I felt my hearing getting worse. This is a feature they claim to have improved and they have definitely delivered.

The Elehears come with an impressive selection of tips for different ear canals. I find the tips to be more comfortable than my other aids. The material is super soft so I am keeping my hearing aids on all day now. I also love that that these are rechargeable and I don't have to handle battery replacement in sometime awkward situations.

They have also improved the app and it is very intuitive. I took the hearing test and have adjusted each side separately for volume and tone - very easy controls to use. You an create and save your own settings that you have refined for different situations. I have also tried the translation feature which is very fast and accurate so that if you are travelling you can just dictate in English and then know what to say in the language you chose.

Voices, as clear as they are occasionally have a squeak when someone pronounces words with a sibilant S. Tweaking the tone settings helped.

One thing that hasn't improved is the size. They are still much larger than my other ones and since my ears are close to my head if I am wearing my glasses there is a tighter fit. I would love to see the next version get smaller!

These are great hearing aids for the price and I now prefer this newer version. However, I do think if you have never worn hearing aids before you should take preliminary steps to see an audiologist. Self diagnosis may not be for everyone. If you are an experienced hearing aid wearer and feel like you want to hear better these would be worth trying. Don't expect to have perfect hearing because no hearing aid can restore your hearing to what it was years ago. Highly recommended.

Tldr: better than rx and lasts

I held off on writing a review until I had a good idea of how they work. I absolutely love them. They are so much better than my prescription hearing aids. They don't last a full work day if I put them in before I leave the house but they will last the full 12 hr shift if I wait to put them in when I get to work. I sit right under an a/c vent and it definitely helps reduce that but still allows me to hear my coworkers on the other side of the room. Only thing I don't love is that it will randomly go into mute mode, which makes me feel like my ears are stuffed with cotton. They are bulkier than I'm used to but they still allow me to wear sunglasses with no problem.

I like that I can change the ear tips to fit each ear differently. My left has little loss while my right is almost 75% loss. When my ENT office quit having an audiologist that could take care and adjust my prescription hearing aid (and insurance wouldn't cover me going anywhere else that covered Signia aids, and their website is crap to get help), I tried several different OTC brands. This one is best I've tried.

Great sound, comfortable to wear (even with eyeglasses!) and highly customizable!

These are definitely a step up from my previous hearing aids. (I had the Sony ERC-10 hearing aids for the last two years.)

I've only had these now for two days, but what a difference! My old Sony ones emphasized the high end frequencies a little too much for my taste. These sound a lot more balanced and even.

These connect to bluetooth easily (I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra.) My old Sony ones only connected to iPhones.

It's very interesting to hear both music playing through these hearing aids as well as the outside world at the same time! Something to get used to.

The app is easy to use (there is a little bit of a learning curve). Very intuitive app with a lot of customization features!

I used the in app hearing test and sent the results to an audiologist through the app. I'm awaiting the results. They are supposed to make adjustments via the app!

Elehear gives you A LOT of ear domes in various styles (closed, open, power and tulip styles). I myself prefer the open dome type, since they produce a more natural sound to my ears. Personal results will definitely vary. You'll have many options to choose from and try out.

When you do find the domes that suit you best, they are VERY comfortable! Even the part that goes behind the ear is comfortable. There are times that I forgot that I'm even wearing them! Comfortable even while wearing glasses!

If you suffer from mild to moderate hearing loss, GET THESE HEARING AIDS! You'll find out what sounds you've been missing!

Easy setup.

I am pleased with how easy it was to set up and get this hearing aids working. Direction was clear and simplified. The fit was comfortable. I can hear lower volume noises more clearly and the sound quality is crisp. I like that I can control the functionality with a phone app. The ear pieces are lightweight. So far, I am pleased with the quality of this hearing aid.

Really Nice

These are a really nice quality. I tried lots of over-the-counter hearing aids and these are by far the nicest I have tried. These have by far had the least feedback and that irritating kind of shuffling noise when you're shifting papers or putting a remote down on a counter or a fork or against a plate. I think it has the best features for adjusting normal household sounds and background noise. This connected seamlessly to the Bluetooth without lots of adjustments or changes. It didn't take forever to search it out. It also connects quickly and disconnects as needed. I love the over ear I find it so comfortable and it's easy to place the wire and insert into the ear itself. These were really good fit for my ears and they're fairly lightweight. I didn't notice them throughout most of the day in so far as like a wait over my ear. I did have to adjust them a little with my sunglasses but it was livable. Really decent battery life and I absolutely love how substantial the charging case is!

Excellent Quality Hearing Aids

I ordered these Elehear Beyond Pro hearing aids for my senior mother who was already wearing the Elehear Beyond hearing aids, so this review will offer a comparison. To begin, we were really happy with the Elehear brand which is why we bought them previously. When it comes to affordable hearing aids, you do get what you pay for when it comes to quality.

What my mom really liked about the Beyond Pro was how clear the sound is and how much more reduced the ambient noise is. The Beyond hearing aids are great at their price point, and the Beyond Pro are even better.

When it comes to ease of use, I helped my mother set them up, but she has found them very easy to use. The app is user friendly and self explanatory. Seniors should be able to use this without a problem.

The battery life has been excellent, and the bluetooth connectivity has not given her any problems.

As for fit, when you look at the photo I've included, you can see that the hearing aids are really small. So if you want a discreet hearing aid, this would be a great option. They also seem to stay in place pretty well (though I don't know whether you can bounce around and run in them).

Overall, we're really happy with this brand and model of hearing aids!

Excellent OTC hearing devices that really provide clarity among crowds

These are some of the best OTC hearing devices I've ever used. They work great in a crowd as they don't pick up all the background noise like some of the cheaper OTC devices do. They're easy to set up and ready to go right out of the box. You need to charge them at night so they're fully powered for the entire day. They do last all day and then some!

If you're not used to using ear amplifiers, you will hear the sound of your voice much louder, but I promise you do get used to it. It just takes some getting used to and adjusting the settings as provided in the instructions on the app. And speaking of the app, I had no problem pairing with it and I love that I can control these with the app and I can also use them as Bluetooth device to listen to my favorite music or to tune people out lol.

I have tried hearing devices twice this price, and these are far superior.

If you're on the fence, these are absolutely worth it.

A Great Set of OTC Hearing Aids

I am not a very technical person. However, I found the setup to be fairly simple. The app guided me step by step, helping me find just the right fit and amplification setting for my specific needs. Once fully charged, the battery will last throughout the entire day.

There are multiple settings and occasions where I have found these aids to be very helpful. They help to cut through the background noise in the restaurant, leaving the table conversation clear and easy to hear and understand.

The Bluetooth connectivity could be easier. I love pairing them with my cell phone for clearer phone conversations and also using the high-quality speakers for listening to music.

The comfort and functionality exceed all of my expectations. I highly recommend the ELEHEAR-Beyond Pro Hearing Aids.

Fantastic technology for an amazing price!

I first purchased the ELEHEAR-Beyond hearing aids about 3 months ago due to hearing loss from chemotherapy or working around loud, heavy equipment. Often you don’t notice the hearing loss because it is gradual so it could also be due to age. There are just too many factors to tell. I got the Beyonds to help with coversations in loud environments like restaurants and I loved them. They literally opened up conversation for me when a lot of times I could not hear people so I just sat silently pretending to be a part of the conversation.

The ELEHEAR-Beyond hearing aids were covered under my Flexible Spending Account and they are also covered by HSA accounts too so that helps a lot with the price. The Beyonds/Pros required some playing/testing different settings, but they really boil down to 4 settings that do most of the heavy lifting. You can change the settings in the ELEHEAR App and the App is the same for the ELEHEAR-Beyond and the ELEHEAR-Beyond Pro hearing aids. Volume, tone, noise cancelation and direction are what you will be experimenting with on both Beyond models. I will speak to both the Beyond and Beyond Pro and discuss the differences at the end of this review.

Volume:

Volume is self explanatory, but it is going to be the base you start with and build off of. Getting the correct volume entails amplifying the sound you want while not getting too much of the sound you do not want. I increased it as much as I could before you start to get a tin-ish sound or a reflective sound. It is hard to explain, but easy to notice and it will annoy you if you do not get the volume dialed in. So we have a good volume without or with minimal auditory artifacting and we are good to move on.

Tone:

Tone is going to help you dial in the amplification of the tones you have a hard time hearing. Is your hearing loss high pitch or low pitch? You can adjust to your preference. I ended up at -4 in both ears, which favors the low pitch sounds slightly.

Noise cancelation:

This is a killer feature and I max it out typically. It does a great job of getting rid of those sounds in the back ground that are interfering with your hearing and the sounds that will cause auditory artifacting (the tin-ish sounds). You can use this setting to maximize your volume by removing a lot of the ambient noise.

Noise direction:

Do not ignore this setting as it will allow you to choose forward facing sounds vs 360 degree sounds. I use the forward setting all the time and never use the 360 directional sound. You still get peripheral sounds, but they are subdued so you can dial in the sound of conversations much more easily. I think this is the best setting for those of us who have trouble hearing conversations in loud environments. It really cuts out a lot of the clanking of dishes, silverware, music, etc that cause issues in public.

That is really all you need to experiment with to get great results for mild to moderate hearing loss.

Let’s discuss costs. You can get premium over the counter hearing aids from companies like Bose for around $1000 and up. It is not worth it to me to spend the extra money when these work so well and are considerably cheaper. Prescriptions hearing aids can cost thousands of dollars and if you have moderate to severe hearing loss you may want to start with prescription hearing aids.

Blue tooth connectivity is AWESOME! You can use the right or left hearing aid to listen to audio and keep the other ear open to hear if someone calls your name or says something to you. You cannot use 1 to stream audio and 1 as a hearing aid though. I am listening to a Rumble video right now in my right ear while typing this. Anyway, it is amazing to have ear buds with you at all times.

You get many, many sizes and styles of rubber ear bud tips. They have completely occlusive (no holes in them) and partially occlusive tips in many sizes. Sizing is very important because if they are too small they will constantly back out of your hear canal, but if they are too large you won’t be able to get them into your ear canal. The occlusive vs partially occlusive is going to be a preference. I prefer the partially occlusive because I can still hear ambient noises normally while the completely occlusive tips made me feel as if the sound was not natural and the pressure in my ears bothered me as well.

These over the counter hearing aids are an amazing option for people with mild to moderate hearing loss. The App even has a hearing test like you would do in school back in the old days with beeps. The test diagnosed me with Good hearing with mild impairment. It would be nice if the test would give you recommended settings, but I am sure they can do that with a software update. There is also a feature in the app where you can call a doctorate degreed Audiologist. You can ask questions for free and they even called to reach out to see how I was doing with the Beyonds. Them having a doctor calling you to check in cannot be cheap, but it is very much appreciated. I was able to discuss features and settings and make sure I was using them properly and to the best effect.

The Beyond vs Beyond Pro comparison. They are both great and very similar. The extra money (and it is worth it) for the Pro model will give you extra sensitivity and noise cancelation. With the Beyonds I set them at a volume of 2 (out of 10) and that was about the max I could get. The Beyond Pro model I was able to use the 4 and 5 volume levels with all other settings remaining the same. If you have both to compare the sound processing is noticeably better. Given the choice I would choose the Pros, they are worth the extra money purely on their improved noise filtering.

Way better than similar devices

I have tried a number of hearing aid/amplifiers over the years and this model is superior to most of them. I find that having the app on your phone allows a lot more flexibility when it comes to customizing the hearing aids. They were relatively easy to set up and I was using them in only a few minutes. The charging case is terrific and convenient. Travelling with these is a breeze. I found the sound to be quite crisp with little to no feedback. It comes with a variety of different domes so you can ensure a good fit. It also includes a charging cable and a tool to clear ear wax from the domes. Good price when compared to high end hearing aids.

Worth the upgrade!

I’ve been using prescription hearing aids for years, and honestly, these stack up really well against them. The sound is clear and natural -- I can actually follow conversations without the muffled tones I’m used to. Music mode is a nice touch too. They’re super easy to adjust with the app, and I love that a quick charge gives me hours of use. Plus, they’re comfortable enough to wear all day. For the price, these have been a fantastic upgrade and are well worth it.

Very Nice OTC Hearing Aids

I have been trying to convince my elderly father that he does indeed nead hearing aids. I am not an audiologist, but took him for an appointment when a) the TV was constantly blaring, and he still could not hear it and b) Me: how are you? Him: no thanks I have already had breakfast. I knew it was time to try hearing aids, and these did not require another visit to the audiologist.

So, the first thing is the case and the aids inside are super easy to charge. This comes with a USB cable and when it arrived, it was partially charged. It took an hour to get it fully charged. about three hours when it needed to be fully charged.

The second issue is that if you or the person you are getting these for is not technologically savvy, you might be in trouble. You need to download the app, again, not something he is comfortable doing, but it was not difficult for me to use his cell phone and scan the QR code in the User Manual.

All the instructions are clear and easy to understand. However, for someone resistant to technology, I found that getting very familiar with these aids, help me to explain the use. To be honest, it took several weeks for him to wear them regularly and admit that yes he could hear much better. That is not the company’s fault but just be aware in case you were getting these for a relative. Again, the user really needs to be comfortable with technology or have someone willing and able to go over the process, for me it was repeatedly.

Also, you should be aware that if you don’t want to use the app or if the app disappears, many of the features will not be available. Read the About This Item instructions on the product page. IMO, a very nice OTC unit.

Girl, You Make That Look Good

Excellent OTC hearing aids. Best of many we tried.

These have been such a great find for my mom! We actually ordered another pair as a backup because there have been times she's visited and forgot to bring them and/or briefly misplaced them. Before choosing these, we tried about 8 different over the counter hearing aids. Some were uncomfortable, some fell out too easily, some gave too much feedback and some just didn't work that well. We were about to give up and buy the expensive ones from the doctor. But these were great on all fronts! She finds them comfortable for all day use, they don't fall out, don't whistle or give feedback and I can tell that she's hearing better simply by how much she lowers the volume of the TV when she has them in. And it's great that I don't have to scream when she has them in! I can actually go back to a normal speaking volume.

You put them in the case to charge at the end of the day and the case can charge them. You can leave the case plugged in during charging or you don't have to. When the case is fully charged, it will charge the hearing aids directly at least 3 times to full power.

They're certainly not inexpensive but they're still much less than ones through an audiologist. As they're serving the purpose and work well, I consider these a very good investment.

Must register APP (↓) to use all features like TRANSLATION! (↑); top sound quality (↑) [3.4 stars]

SUMMARY REVIEW: I have tried and reviewed a very significant number of hearing aids. In short and most importantly, these hearing aids are very near the top of the list in terms of sound quality; very “life-like”. The onboard toggle controls are very easy to use BUT they only control power on / off, volume, and handling calls or listening to music through the aids. To be able to use ALL of the many features users are required to register to use their proprietary app. To me that’s a problem as all apps can have privacy issues AND if the app goes away (malfunctions, etc.) so do many of the important features including language translation! Pick the language you are trying to understand and your language and it can speak and provide text of the translation. These are about $600 and could be closer 5 stars, but the uncertainty regarding the app in terms of privacy and not being able to use all of the features otherwise (or is the app goes away) are real issues for me. [3.4 stars]. Following is a much more detailed version of my review which includes two other significant detractors regarding this hearing aids.

DETAILED REVIEW: These are very nice hearing aids overall with a significant drawback to me. Here are my observations.

PROS

◦ THESE ARE TRUE FDA REGISTERED HEARING AIDS: These hearing aids are actually classified as “HEARING AID, AIR-CONDUCTION WITH WIRELESS TECHNOLOGY, OVER THE COUNTER” on the official US FDA website; I did a Google search for “FDA accessdata”, and clicked on the first result. On the next in the “Owner/Operator Name” box I entered “‎ELEHEAR” (which is the manufacturer’s name), and pressed the Search button. Then I clicked on the 1st bullet point link (which includes “RIC 03L” (the actual model number found inside the lid of the storage / charging case), and the page with the official FDA classification appears.

◦ SOUND QUALITY: To me these hearing aids have very good sound quality; very close to what I consider to be life-like.

◦ NO FEEDBACK: I did not experience feedback (squealing / screeching). TIP: make sure to take the time to test different sizes and types of the 13 pairs of included silicone ear domes AND keep hands away from the microphones (above and below the toggle control button). This helps eliminate any possible feedback sounds.

◦ NOISE REDUCTION: The noise cancellation seemed to work fine.

◦ CONTROLS: Each aid has one toggle control button; they work well and easily. The upper side of the button increase volume and the lower button lowers volume. The upper side of the button can manually turn on the aids by holding it 3 seconds, and can power them off holding the power button 5 seconds. Also, the down end of the toggle buttons can be pressed 2 seconds to answer/end calls and play/pause music.

◦ BLUETOOTH: Connecting via Bluetooth was easy after first downloading the app. I like (and consider it a must) that via Bluetooth these aids can be used to listen to music, take calls, stream, etc., directly through my cell phone. The music quality was also excellent to me (bearing in mind I am not an audiophile). Note: these do not have the newer BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) technology that uses VERY little energy so the battery can last MUCH longer even with significant Bluetooth use (a big NIT to me).

◦ BATTERY: These are listed as providing 20 hours of use with a 2.5-hour case charge, and the case can be used to provide 4 more charges without being plugged in (for an additional 80 hours). To clarify, charging the aids in the case provides a total of 100 hours of use; that is on the high end of battery capability. Fully charging the aids in the charged case should take only 1.5 hours.

◦ EXTENDED HIGH RANGE FREQUENCY: “Elehear” increased the high end range from 7000Hz to 8500Hz on this model. From my discussions with a professional in the hearing aid industry, to keep costs down many OTC hearing aids do not do very well beyond 7000Hz, so this is considered a very significant improvement.

◦ WEARING THE AIDS: It is important to make sure to pick the correct size and style of silicone ear tip to use (13 pairs are included). I prefer this BTE (behind the ear) RIC (receiver in canal) style of hearing aid. In general, to me they provide the best sound quality, and “invisible”, and are very comfortable and secure.

◦ TRANSLATION WITH 11 LANGUAGES: This is a great, easy to use feature available only through the app. It splits the phone screen with the bottom in your language and the top in the language you wish to translate. You simply push the mic button and the translated words are read out loud (through the aids) AND the same translated text appears on your phone screen. It worked really well (I included a screen shot from my phone. Note the translation is not continuous so I had to press the mic button whenever there was a pause by the speaking.

CON - THE APP: Personally, I do not like when an app is needed to be able to use all the features of a device. My 2 reasons are concerns regarding my personal information security AND the app may be discontinued, the company may abandon the app, the company may go out of business, etc. Here are great items that CANNOT be used without the app per the app:

◦ Auto-Play Translation (a fantastic feature; the last PRO above)

◦ Hearing test (pretty significant)

◦ Short training videos and tasks to learn using the aids

◦ Setting volume levels

◦ Selecting treble (brighter) and bass (deeper) levels

◦ Tinnitus masking (with 22 mostly natural sound choices)

◦ Noise Control (Adaptive, Light, Moderate, Advanced, and Maximum)

◦ “Try” plays different voices to give an idea of your volume level

◦ Change “Modes” (General, Restaurant, Music, TV, and add Modes based on your preferred settings)

◦ Support by email, AI, and an onboard user manual

Other hearing aids I have reviewed had a hearing test and the results could be automatically used to change the settings of the aids to match the discovered deficiencies. This app does not have that feature.

Also, I have reviewed other hearing aids that had apps that could be used without giving any personal information and I did use them. However, this app requires providing some personal information.

INCLUDED: The 2 hearing aids come with a charging / storage case, 13 pair of silicone ear tips, a USB charging cord, cleaning brush / tool, wax cleaning tool, and instructions.

OVERALL: These FDA registered hearing aids are near the top of the many hearing aids I have tried and reviewed with quite a few very good features, and solid sound quality. There are devices I will use that have an app to use many of the features provided they don’t require my personal information to be used. Personally, I opt for devices that do not require an app or have an app that can be used without registration. However, for those that are comfortable using apps of this nature, this might not be an issue. At just under $600 US at the time of this review, I would like hearing aids that don’t require an app to use all of the features, that have the newer BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) technology, and can apply the results of their hearing test to customize the settings. These hearing aids have some great features and quality however, in this higher end OTC price range to me they rate 3.4 stars.

Comfortable OTC option with a lot of features

These are great for being over-the-counter and turned out to be far more comfortable than what I was expecting. My hearing loss is fairly minimal but I’m dealing with tinnitus so I was anxious to see how these deal with it and I’m really happy with the results. Build quality is great and they feel high end.

Because of the built in controls, you can use these without installing the app on your phone but to get the best experience you’ll definitely need the app. There are so many options/features that I’m still working my way through them but if you know your way around your phone, it’s not so bad. If you’re not as tech savvy, it’d be good to recruit some help so you can take full advantage of these great hearing aids.

Recharge is fairly quick and I’m able to squeeze out nearly a full day of use so far. The carry case is a good size without being too big and I can easily carry them in my cargo pocket (I’m looking at you, my fellow Gen X brothers).

Premium sound, smart features, and a nice upgrade

I already own the ELEHEAR BEYOND and like it a lot. The Beyond Pro is a big step up. Voices sound way clearer, even when I’m in a crowded spot, and the background noise doesn’t take over.

The new music mode is awesome—I can actually enjoy streaming and live music without everything sounding tinny or distorted. Bluetooth connects fast and stays stable, which I appreciate.

They’re super comfortable, I can wear them all day without even thinking about it. Battery life is solid too, lasts me the whole day easily. The app is handy for tweaking the sound, and there’s no annoying whistling or feedback.

Overall, I’m really happy with these. If you want better clarity and a big boost in sound quality, the Beyond Pro is definitely worth it.

The Best Hearing Aid I have Found!

This product exceeded my expectations. It has crystal clear audio and is easy to use. I honestly did not know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality. The unit is small and fits snugly behind my ears without any discomfort. I am totally impressed with this product; it gives me the freedom that I was looking for in with hearing aid benefits. I give this product five stars for sure!
