Works well with the Enphase solar system
I've been using the Enphase IQ EV Charger 2 alongside my Enphase solar inverter system, and the integration has been one of its biggest strengths. Having everything managed within the Enphase ecosystem makes it easy to monitor both solar production and EV charging from the same app, which provides a much better user experience than juggling multiple platforms.
The charger is well-built, reliable, and delivers consistent charging performance. Installation was hired out by an electrician since I needed a 240v outlet installed. It was added to my existing Enphase system. Setup in the app was quick and easy. Being able to see my home's energy usage, solar generation, and EV charging in one place makes it much easier to optimize charging during periods of high solar production. You can set it to use the extra solar energy. Which is a great option.
The cable is 25ft long. It provides plenty of cable for multiple positions of charging. I installed mine in my garage. Sometimes I pull in. However I mostly back in. My charging port is in the front of my vehicle. It has no problems reaching it. It is fully compatible with my '26 Lyriq.
The app is intuitive, and the charger responds well to scheduled charging and remote controls. Firmware updates happen automatically, which helps keep everything current without any effort.
The only downside is that the full value of the IQ EV Charger 2 is really realized if you're already invested in the Enphase ecosystem. If you already have Enphase microinverters and want seamless integration, it's an excellent choice. Also, I have a hard time wrapping the cord to stay on the holder. I purchased a ceiling mount for the cord the eliminate this issue.
Overall, I'd highly recommend the Enphase IQ EV Charger 2 for existing Enphase customers. The reliability, smart features, and unified energy management make it a worthwhile addition to a solar-powered home.
