Better than the Ring

I previously had a Ring Doorbell (1st gen), it died earlier this year. I had the Ring for over 7 years. In order for the Eufy Doorbell dual to operate you need adequate power (at least 16v 30amp), so i purchased a tranformer and installed it myself - super easy to do. The Eufy videos are very clear and soo far (having the device for 3 days) , im very happy. A definite upgrade to the Ring.

Works Well When It Works

The camera would be great if it worked consistently. The video quality is good, but notifications are often delayed, which defeats the purpose of a doorbell camera. It also disconnects frequently and is unavailable more often than I would expect. When it’s working, it’s useful, but the reliability issues have been frustrating.

Works only in daylight

The doorbell powers on, but it turns off automatically whenever the lights are turned off, even though it is supposed to have auto night vision and remain functional in low light. I am also receiving a warning that the transformer needs to be replaced, but I have used a Google Nest doorbell on the same setup for years without ever getting this type of warning.

Because of these issues and the fact that my previous doorbell worked normally with the existing wiring and transformer, I believe this unit is not functioning correctly and I no longer feel confident using it.

CHECK THE VOLTAGE CAPACITY OF YOUR DOORBELL BEFORE BUYING!

Our doorbell was installed at a residence across the country and it only worked properly for about one week. It is now indefinitely offline and not functioning. We will not be able to get back to the house to remove and return it in time.

The app wasn’t helpful in finding a solution but after researching online, it seems our transformer is not providing enough power to the device. This was not clear when described in the advertisement. We are unsure how to fix it exactly and I am not happy about need to spending more money for a new device and possibly an electrician.

EUFY For the WIN!!!

I was between Ring and Eufy and eufy takes it home easily!!! No subscriptions, a home base to sync and access all of my interior and exterior cameras in 4k quality. Picture quality, sound quality is best bang for buck. Installation is fairly what you expect just YouTube for visual and follow the instructions on the app. BUY NOW!!!

Don’t Waste Your Money – Useless When You’re Away

Worst doorbell on the market! While the picture quality was fine right after installation, that’s where the positives end. Motion detection didn’t work, and although I could use the two-way talk feature while at home, the system became completely useless once I left.

It failed to connect remotely, showing a constant error despite stable Wi-Fi and an update. The system stayed stuck on a 2024 date, and support was no help. What’s the point of a security device I can’t use when I’m not home? This doorbell offers no real protection.

Eufy should make some changes but it is still a good product

I love the eufy wired dual doorbell cam. I wanted wired so I wouldn't have to worry about changing batter packs and I love the dual cam for package protection. The only thing is, I wish there was an option for recording all day instead of only the alerts. If there is a crime across the street for example, I would love to be able to scroll back and catch that to give to my neighbors. But this is not a feature I can do on the wired cam and I don't understand why. Why cant there be a micro sd insert like on wyze cams? Another issue is the speaker on the cam does not project sound well. When i talk through my phone or device to say something to someone at my door, it is hard to understand most times. Motion detection is good and you can change sensitivity level and it was easy to set up.

Stopped working w/in 3 months

Camera doesn't work see picture. Camera worked beautifully until we had a few days rain then just stopped working. Not pleased at all with the way this is being handled. The protection plan is supposed to prevent things like this. Very disappointed

Better Than Ring?

Works like a charm! Was fairly easy to install! The dual camera is an outstanding feature. A view of the approach, as well as packages left on the porch. I used the system to replace my Ring Doorbell!

Wasted hours trying to detach mount and install

*update* after getting a replacement, works better than expected. Video quality is 2k and it records automatically whenever someone's at the door for like 10 seconds. Also has auto voice message when someone's at the door. Leaving 3 stars because of the issue I had to deal with at first

*old* I tried to attach and detach the mounting bracket before install and the metal pin would not work at all. I wasted maybe 2-3 hours to see if this works and I didn't even get to the installation

5 months works great

Follow the directions and it’s easy to install. It stays online and the motion detection is very sensitive. I have a well covered porch, so I don’t think it will do well exposed to rain etc. you can upload your own auto responses which I used a free text to speech in a male voice for no soliciting etc. the dual camera has the widest view and the auto response will play wherever someone approaches a package. the package alerts remind your phone and you can see in this video it captures any thievery.

No more doorbell charges

I got tired of paying $50 a year to look at my doorbell, so I purchased a Eufy doorbell. I get 6.6GB of storage on my phone, not in a cloud. After one month, I have used only 32% of the storage, and when it is full, new videos overwrite the oldest videos. My old doorbell did have 1 more feature that eufy does not have - it took a low res picture every 30 seconds which was handy for reviewing the day. Maybe eufy will incorporate this feature in the future.

A safety feature of this camera is 2 LED lights on the bottom of the doorbell light up the floor at night when you approach, as in the 1st picture here. Otherwise, infrared LEDs light up the porch at all times, as in the 2nd picture. The 3rd picture shows a vivid day picture. The split screen feature gives you a look at the floor right under the camera to show any packages delivered.

Since I had already wired the previous camera, this eufy was a snap to install. I have no batteries, just the power from the doorbell transformer. I have Alexa, and this camera can be viewed on any of my devices. It also rings thru the Alexa device. I could not get it to talk thru the Alexa device, but it will talk thru my phone.

I took my old camera, powered it with a 12vac transformer, and now use it for an in-house security camera with my phone. The 2 camera systems work independently from each other.

Great doorbell camera

This isn’t our first Eufy camera, but it’s definitely the best one we’ve gotten so far. The motion detection on this camera works far better than the one we had before. We also like that, you don’t have to have a subscription and the storage will keep the videos for two weeks, which is great because we don’t need anything longer than that.

The sound quality is decent and you can see great at night.

Tip: last winter, the weather was really cold and the button for the doorbell got stuck. It was constantly ringing over and over again (very creepy). We went outside and jiggled the button until it was not stuck anymore, and that solved the issue.

It caught fire!

The camera was installed by a professional electrician. Upon initial power-up, it let a bunch of smoke out and melted itself to the mounting plate. It all but caught fire!

I'm going to give a replacement one more try, but if that doesn't work, sorry Eufy, I'm not letting you burn my brand new house down.

Failed to connect to Wi-Fi ... Solved.

I have the Video Doorbell Dual (Wired).

After getting a new router, I attempted to connect the doorbell to my new Wi-Fi. From the Eufy app, I selected Video Doorbell Dual (Wired) but it failed to connect. After many attempts and hours, I selected the following from the app:

[Bold large font] Video Doorbell Dual (Battery-Powered) [Regular smaller font] Video Doorbell Dual S330/ Video Doorbell E340

It successfully connected to my Wi-Fi!!!

The device selection in the app was confusing because the heading indicated Battery-Powered. Other than that frustration, It works great and I love it!

The best one out there right now.

TLDR: Stop looking. As of 2024, this is the perfect doorbell.

This Eufy Dual-cam wired doorbell is the second wired doorbell I’ve owned, although the first was a different brand. IMHO, it’s a major upgrade.

This doorbell beats every other one out there right now, for several reasons. It can be used alone, or as part of a security system that includes cameras, spotlights, and sirens, or anything else you want to add using the ITTT system (unofficially/unsupported, but it does work).

It has 4Gb of internal storage, which is the second reason I love this doorbell. It stores everything locally, instead of in the cloud. No worries about someone hacking your stuff, and seeing when you come home or leave, so they can ransack your place without being bothered.

The list goes on.

The next reason I love this, is that it has TWO cameras. The main cam is 2k resolution, and the bottom, or “package cam”, is 1080p. Both work perfectly, with far less lag than I had with the other one. I always hated that I couldn’t see my packages, and now with the two cameras, I can.

Both cameras are AI supported. The doorbell will recognize humans, as well as packages, and gives you a snapshot of the person’s face. It will tell you when a package has arrived, and also when someone picks it up, whether that’s you or someone else.

There are zero annual fees, and I was previously paying $50/yr for the cheapest plan. So in less than 3 years, I’ll have paid for this by not having to subscribe to a cloud service — just to use the doorbell I OWN. I can download any and all videos I want, or share them right from the app.

Installation was a breeze. Use the included jumper wire to jump the two existing wire connections on the bell chime inside your house. Go outside and screw the baseplate to the house, connect the two wires from your old doorbell to the new doorbell, and snap on the doorbell to the baseplate. Done.

The app walks you through setting it up on your phone, and it only took about 3 minutes total. The app itself is easy to navigate, and has loads of options for how to view the cameras, where to store the clips, and pretty much anything you can think of. You can also create groups, search for events, and add any other Eufy device to the app, from cameras to vacuums.

There’s even a new AI-powered option called “cross-camera tracking” that allows you to follow a person automatically as they pass through your area of operation. I haven’t tried that yet, but probably will soon.

Bottom line – I spent several months investigating what I considered the perfect security system, which includes a doorbell that can see guests as well as packages, and indoor and outdoor cameras. I wanted the system to store everything locally, have zero annual fees, and work as well as, or better than, any others. Eufy wins, and nothing else even comes close.

Incidentally, I also have 12 other Eufy cams, both indoor and out, and everything works together perfectly.

I hope this helps.

It was great. Then it all went wrong.

This thing either works amazing or it starts to rapid fire false alarm as if someone's hiring the button. No amount of resetting fixes it. Had an electrician check the wires. Reset, restarted, factory reset. It still does it.

Now it's out of warranty and I either have to spend a bunch of money to replace something barely over a year old or change ecosystems which would be annoying.

Customer service was helpful until you're out of warranty.

If you buy it make sure you're good with constant false rings that cannot be stopped unless you want to rip the wires out.

It's not a presence alert it's saying someone pushed the button. Maybe we have a very tech savvy ghost. I'm so sick of it.

Did not perform well.

Received and installed. Install was easy. However, the camera had lines going across it from the start. I tried fixing it using the tips online and the tips given by Eufy help support. It did not work. I’ve had it for a couple of weeks now and it will not hold a charge.

The best Video doorbell I have owned.

I just installed this Eufy S330 wired doorbell and so far it is fantastic.

I have tried the cheap no name wired video doorbell in the $40.00 range. It had constant false alarms poor video quality but it was only $40.00.

I have had two Nest wired doorbells they don't seem to hold up much longer than two years. One went dead on me and the latest one gives me very late notifications or just failed to notify me at all.

I said enough of Nest video doorbells.

After doing some online research the Eufy video doorbell had good reviews.

So I purchased this S330 video doorbell.

This is a review for the refurbished model. It was a significant savings ($50) and I thought I would give it a try.

So when I plugged it in to my USB power supply and followed the instructions it worked great. I installed the included jumper wire in my old electromechanical doorbell on the wall I measured 16.5VAC at the doorbell.

I installed the Eufy S330 and nothing at all, no lights or power! I figured this is why it was probably returned and went through a refurbishing process.

On further inspection I noticed that the actual screws on the Eufy S330 are painted black or are anodized black. Also the actual contacts seemed to be slightly below the plastic housing of the doorbell. So I added two small tooth washers to bite into the screws and make a good connection. This worked perfectly. Why Eufy didn't do this from the factory is beyond me.

Anyway I tested it and updated the firmware. Things looked pretty good at this point but the Eufy diagnostics was reporting that the transformer was not powerful enough.

So I replaced the transformer with a 20VAC 1.5 amp one that I had lying around. The diagnostics reported no problem after the transformer swap.

The video quality is really sharp and the colors are crisp. It blows away the Nest Video doorbell!!

The lower camera for packages looks very good too.

The notifications are quick within a second.

So far I am extremely pleased with this Eufy S330 wired doorbell. I hope it lasts a long time.

Just a few tips; make sure you have a transformer that will supply enough current to the Eufy video doorbell. The specs are 16-24volts A.C. at 30VA. So if you have a 20 VAC transformer you need 1.5 amps (30/20=1.5).

24 VAC would be 1.25 amps,

16 VAC would be 1.875 amps, etc.

Also make sure you peel off the plastic on the mounting plate. This uncovers the thermal pad. This pad contacts the doorbell camera for thermal dissipation. The doorbell camera uses the mount for heat dissipation.

Love the dual camera.

Easy to install unless you have to replace the doorbell transformer. But even then, it’s still pretty easy. The hardest part was finding where the transformer was.

Works as advertised! Good product

Bought this on Black Friday, set it up in temporary spot using a standard 1.5amp usb brick (the kind you charge your phone with). Left it up in that temporary setup until I could run doorbell wiring to the spot. Once I pulled the wire I checked the voltage of my transformer (18V) hardwired the unit and it has been working great ever since!

D

Div

Keeps going offline every now and then

So, my current door bell transformer is underpowered so we bought a correct 16v/30amp transformer and hired an electrician to install it. Even with everything done right, door bell goes offline once every 15 days or so. I was using a different door bell before and never had an issue. Its really frustrating that we paid more to electrician to get transformer installed and get wiring check than the door bell price. When working we received too many false notifications.

Review is for Likely New terrible condition. Not for Camera functions.

The lower camera was defective and would only turn to one side. The backplate clip thing was bent terriblely.

When you can get past the setup...

UPDATE: March 9th 2023

Occasionally, the doorbell would record nothing for like 10 seconds. I wouldn’t have cared if it weren’t for the fact that it did so for like 10x an hour.

If your WIRED camera disconnects randomly and does not come back on, then it could be because the voltage running through it fluctuated. The best solution I found to solve this is by just turning the breaker for the doorbell off for a bit and turning it back on.

As of v4.5.3 of the eufy app, there is only 1 doorbell sound.

~~~~~
Once you can get past the setup (it took a lot of effort for me to finish), the Wired Dual Video Doorbell is pretty dang good! The chime can get pretty loud and you can select from a variety of rings. For the most part, it has pretty good detection and pairs well with the HomeBase 3 (S380). Motion detection works well but takes a few seconds to start recording.
I would have given this another star if it was not for the fact that eufy uses poor security measures when transmitting traffic
T
ton
Camera has issues that eufy needs to work out.
The doorbell just randomly goes offline occasionally. You can't reset it from the app, have to remove power by flipping the breaker. And none of the eufy cameras live view works with alexa. Otherwise this is a great camera.
Good product
Had some difficulties but so far so good.
I had a few challenges for installation, followed instructions and everything went fine for a few hours. After 2-3 hours the doorbell stopped working and I re-installed the original door bell button and removed the jumper - no luck. After an electrician looked at it the culprit was the transformer.
In summary:
1. Replaced the transformer of 16~24VAC,30VA, This is cheap part that can be found in multiple places in your basement.
2. Although I didn't need replace my existing chime box. You can find a kit from a big box store for $25 that includes the chime box, door bell button and transformer. I re-installed the jumper in the new chime box.
3. I make it! Since I had already installed the eufy doorbell dual, the transformer was replaced everything worked well.
Overall I like the product. I also enjoy the two cameras and package detection.
Great concept, but poor execution!
Great concept, but poor execution!
The 1080p floor facing camera lacks on adjusting brightness/ HDR technology. On a sunny day with shadows (from building), you cannot see anything because it’s so dark. When there is direct sun with no shadows, it does okay.
I have rock landscapes, which it thinks it’s a package. There should be an option to “mark” so the AI doesn’t think it’s a package again. The C24 outdoor camera has that feature when you can block false notifications.
It also detects rocks as human face…
The original doorbell has better video quality than this. I’m moving away from original because of all the false notifications. So far, not false notifications other than AI thinking my rock landscape is a package.
Great No monthly fee
Remember: 16~24V, 30VA
I have never used a wired video doorbell before, and when I first received it, it didn’t work properly. I contacted eufy, their customer service is really great. They explained very patiently that my transformer voltage and power were insufficient. I replaced the 16-24V, 30VA transformer. Then, everything goes well. The two cameras can see all the conditions in front of my door. The most important thing is, No monthly fee, great experience!!!
Amazing product!!!
I checked the transformer at my home according to the instructions in the manual, and the installation was very simple for me, about 10 minutes. I love the dual camera function very much, the function of the delivery guard is really practical, high resolution, real 2K, clear pictures, the night vision is also good. Much better than Ring, impressed ! ! !
