Delayed and not following perp
The camera quality is pretty good. The follow mode isn’t that great. It could be the placement but the record feature starts too late most times and then doesn’t follow the person and recording is too short to be effective most of the time.

Great Camera, solar panel life limited
That camera works excellently, range great, zoom excellent and clarity wonderful. Easy to install. The solar panel worked well for the first year but significantly degraded 4 months after warranty was up. The protective covering on the panel started peeling back allowing water and other debris to seep under protective sheet. The purchase of the extended warranty would be wise for the S340.

Absolutely Perfect
I am a Eufy fan, some of them can be buggy I understand but overall use, setup and 0 subscription fees is all worth it.
If your WIFI is right. its less buggy imo
I use mine in my tour bus as an entrance cam. Perfect for the RV sites I visit all over America/truck stops

Loved it at first, but completely bricked after 9 months
I was really happy with this camera when I set it up last November. The picture was sharp, the 360 pan-and-tilt gave awesome coverage, and not having to climb a ladder to charge it thanks to the solar panel felt like a total win. Fast forward to now, and it’s basically an expensive paperweight. Out of nowhere, it dropped offline and refused to wake back up. I figured the solar panel just had a bad streak of cloudy days, so I brought the camera inside and plugged it straight into a wall outlet with a USB-C cable. Nothing. No charging light, no reset chirp, just completely dead. It’s frustrating because when it works, it’s easily one of the best wire-free cameras on the market. But paying this much for hardware that gives out in less than a year is a tough pill to swallow. I’m currently reaching out to eufy to see if their warranty support makes this right, but definitely be cautious about long-term battery reliability.

Very happy overall with EUFY as a company.
These are truly awesome. Very easy to set up, the solar panels absolutely keep everything fully powered from minimal sunlight, the hub is functional and easy to use. I am overall very happy with these.
The only thing I would suggest to any buyer is to also buy the storage upgrade to install into the hub (a sata drive).

Great design and smart AI features, just wish the app streaming was smoother!
Installation was a breeze and the design is very sleek. The solar panel charges the battery incredibly fast and keeps it running non-stop. Image quality is crisp, and the AI subject tracking/homeowner recognition works like a charm. My only minor complaint is that the live stream on the eufy app can be a bit laggy at times. Overall, highly recommended for business or home security!

Best solar camera around!
This is a picture of a crane in my koi pond. I was not home at the time. This camera alerted me on my phone that something was there. I set off the alarms/lights on the camera and the crane flew away. This camera has saved me a lot of money by alerting me when something comes up. Koi Fish cost a lot of money and it alerts me when something is there trying to eat them. I absolutely love this camera. The great thing about it is it does not have to have a subscription. It hooks directly to your Internet and your phone with no problem. It is also solar powered so we do not have to have electricity running to it. It works well, even on cloudy days. When a person is near, it tells me that a person has been spotted.I can’t say enough positive about this camera. I like it so much that I just purchased another one. Great product!

Way slower than any wired camera
Pros:
- wireless.
- good picture when it works.
- good customer service.
Cons:
- camera is frustratingly slow to respond, which makes it incomparable to even a cheapest 20-buck wired CCTV. I also run a CCTV setup for the last 10 years, no issues, though its picture is not up to modern standards.
This eUfy S340 cam shows great wifi reception in my house, about 6 meters from the Homebase station. So why all those disconnects?
- it was even slower when connected to the Homebase 3 station due to some AI using processing power.
- No way to get a consistent video stream. The stream is jumpy with frequent disconnections.
- requires 2.4Ghz wifi.
- iphone/ipad app is buggy, the 'seasonal sale' advertising often covers the controls on the screen and you can't dismiss it, must quit the app and reopen. Did I mention frequent disconnects?
- the software is half baked. When setting up the sensor zones it often shifts them to an opposite side of the video stream. Had to redo it multiple times before the sensor zone finally stuck where it's supposed to go.
I'm a software dev with network background and I can't comprehend how these people make money. Don't buy, just don't.
I have to admit I did also purchase a more expensive eUfy S4 solar camera thinking it's better than this one. Oh my. Big mistake. That one was even slower. Also, with its double cams - permanent and movable - the problems just doubled.
On a positive note, the cheaper S220 solar cam feels more responsive with no disconnect issues, though also slow to wake up at times.
The eUfy's indoor cams on the other hand are way better than any of those battery and solar fed ones. They work great and very fast to respond.

I should have just gotten ring cameras
Just buy the ring camera system. This camera misses way too many events. 1 minute my wife's car is in the driveway and the the next it's gone with no footage to show for it. Solar panel can't keep the battery alive even though i live in the SUNSHINE state. Does not record 24 hours. Records only movement, sometimes.... ai motion is cool. Video quality is good but hard to see faces and license plates. No monthly subscription is nice but doesn't record 24/7

Easy Install, Solar Powered, and 45 Days of Local Storage
I’ve been using this camera for about a year now, and it has been one of the best home security purchases I’ve made. Installation was easy, and getting everything set up took very little time.
The local storage has been more than enough, even in a heavy foot traffic area. In my experience, it stores around 45 days of recordings, which is impressive and eliminates the need for monthly cloud storage fees.
The solar charging is another huge plus. I haven’t needed to swap or recharge batteries, which makes ownership almost maintenance-free.
Reliable performance, clear footage, easy setup, and no subscription costs make this an outstanding value. Highly recommend.

Excellent camera
The camera is excellent. You can have everything in your own base and do not need extra monthly cost. I like it but as I do not want to dig a hole to install camera and solar panel, I want to place it on the floor or top of wall. However, the image from the camera cannot be rotated. Which mean we have to place it upside down. This is gonna be a simple improvement.

Eufy tracking camera.
Yes its a nice camera. I just installed the Eufy system and the initial setup was confusing.
I added this camera and really like it because the head is all black and as it follows a person you don’t notice it tracking you. The other cameras i received you can easily notice its tracking.
I put them in the backyard. This camera and the second one i use in the front of the house.
You really can’t notice it tracking. The picture is actually better than i thought it would be.
Nice camera. Also the solar panel if mounted on top has a really nice short cord to plug in. You don’t have lots of wire to wrap around as with the cameras that came with this package.
Id recommend.

AMAZING SECURITY CAMERA YET!!
Replaced a 5 year old camera that works but not 5G WIFI compatible and had delayed response with this eufy solar security camera. We live in a remote mountain community and want to know what's going on when we are 2 hours away picking up supplies. This camera detects and follows vehicle, people, and animal motions unbelievably with excellent range, brightness day and night, sound quality, immediate cellphone notifications, and super easy installation design. My videos would not upload but I have attached a screen shot of the notification messages identifying each type of detection - human, vehicle, and motion (animals). The camera follows the motion detected full circle, it's amazing!! The app also allows 1x to 3x visual when needed. We have 3 other non eufy security cameras on our property but none provide us the same high quality this camera does. Will be ordering another soon.

Outstanding Solar Camera — Easy Setup, No Drilling, Great Peace of Mind
There honestly aren’t enough good things I can say about the eufy Security SoloCam S340. This camera has been an excellent addition to our home security setup.
Solar Power & Convenience
I love that it’s solar-powered, which means no worrying about frequent charging. Once it’s set up, it just works, and that’s a huge plus.
Flexible Mounting (No Drilling!)
Another big win is the ability to use brackets without drilling holes. This was important to me, and it made installation simple and renter-friendly while still feeling secure.
Integration & Performance
It connects seamlessly to the HomeBase, and the camera performs exactly how you’d expect—reliable, clear, and consistent. It gives us real peace of mind knowing our home and family are protected.
Overall Experience
This camera has exceeded my expectations. It’s well-designed, easy to live with, and genuinely adds to our sense of safety.
Final Thoughts
Amazing camera, excellent features, and very easy to set up. I would absolutely buy this again and will be recommending it to my family as well.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars — The Best Security Camera I’ve Ever Used
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars — The Best Security Camera I’ve Ever Used
I’m a former Ring user who finally got tired of paying $10 a month for monitoring — and even more if you have multiple properties. Those subscription fees add up fast. The eufy Security SoloCam S340 has completely solved that problem with zero monthly fees and far better features.
This camera is an absolute powerhouse. It offers a full 360° field of view, 8X zooming capabilities, and crisp 3K resolution, so you can see every detail. The color night vision and built-in spotlight make nighttime viewing incredibly clear, and the voice control support is a great bonus.
With the app on my phone, I can pan around and zoom in on anything instantly, which has been incredibly useful for monitoring multiple properties. The motion detection is smart and customizable — you can set it to alert for humans, vehicles, or both depending on what you want to track.
The built-in solar charger is another huge win. Once it’s installed, you don’t have to worry about power at all. I’ve never had an issue with insufficient sunlight, and every camera stays fully charged year-round.
I now have these units on several properties, and they’ve been rock-solid. If you’re done with subscription fees and want a feature-packed, reliable security camera, this one is a no-brainer. Highly recommend!

Best security camera ever!
Excellent camera system. A little higher in cost than the other stuff out there, but you do get what you pay for. First of all, there are no monthly fees. Very high quality video. Pan, tilt, zoom in HD. Tracks people, animals and vehicles (or selectively one, two or three categories). Live views are great and it has Android, Windows and iOS apps for your laptop, desktop, iPhone and Android.
There's a 3X zoom feature to zoom in on things that may be difficult for other cameras, but very clear in this one. Color at night, or witch on the IR for no-lighting automatic surveillance. The app will alert you when something triggers its IR detector.
I like this camera so much, this is my 7th. My entire property is covered, as is my vacation home...all in one app. It's better than Ring, Blink or any of the other apps, and best of all...no monthly fees to store or monitor your feed.
The small solar panel works very well - however I have one camera that only get direct sun during the summer months. I usually have to recharge that batter indoors once in 6 months, but other than that, the battery lasts what seems to be forever.
Overall: it's a "must buy" if you have video security needs. I've had mine 2 years and have not regretting my decision in the slightest.

Four cameras on our house and one very remote. Set-up was literally 1,2,3. I did Set-up while charging. Each camera (except remote) I directly linked to our home WIFI.
All done in the app.
Step 1: connect to WIFI, easy!
Step 2: scan QR code on camera, easy!
Step 3: camera scans app provided QR code, easy!
All done. Now mount where you want it.
Configure each camera with the settings you like. The app is so easy to use and has every option that you may realistically need. It even provides battery status info. Explore the app and you'll find everything you need. The remote camera comes with a SIM card that uses the big three providers and will determine the best at any given time. I Installed the app for the SIM card and bought a 6 month data plan for starters. I only had one question, where does the memory card go for the remote camera? It kinda hidden, you move the camera head (scared to do this at first) to reveal the slot. My two cameras with tracking do an outstanding job tracking.
Strongly recommended!! Eufy is my go-to from now on. I'm not a tech wizard but this being our third system I know what works well and zero frustration. You'll see in my pictures I installed an extention on my eve's to maximize sun exposure. A little paint and looks like part of the original construction.

A Truly Great Plug and Play Wire Free Security Camera
To me, this is a very nice security camera. I've bought four of them now, two for me and two for my dad, and they have all worked perfectly.
The solar power and panel is perfectly matched with the battery and camera so that I've never had to recharge them. You obviously have to mount them well considering the sun, but I've never dipped below 90% in the winter or cloudy weather.
The quality is great with the live feed and playback. Pairing it with the Home Base isn't necessary but it does add more storage options and AI learning, which to be is just a gimmick at this time. My cameras are connected to the Home base and seem to function at the same level as my dad's cameras which have no Base.
The pivoting head is great but has very little movement upward, so you either need to mount it really high up or mount it at an angle because it can pivot down just fine.
If you need a truly plug and play, wireless security camera and have a decent WiFi connection you cannot go wrong with these cameras.
I'm uploading some screenshots so you can see for yourself how long one of my cameras has been in use and that it's never had to be charged.

They're just OK
Update 3/8/25 - They've updated the app and I think they made some indicators worse. They used to show the battery in green when charging now it's not. The app still doesn't show charging at times and shows charging at night. So far Im impressed with how the solar panel is chaging the battery, if the graph is accurate - I've included a photo of 30 day charging but overall the system is still a 3 rating. They haven't updated the firmware on the camera yet so no improvement there.
I'm rating it a 3 because it works but it really isn't as great as some of the YouTube reviewers seem to make it sound like. I bought 4 of these to put at the front and back of my house, 2 had to be replaced because of charge issues ... I attached these to a Home Base 3. I bought these so I didn't have to hard wire my house and based on some videos I saw these seem to be the smallest, solar, battery powered, tracking cameras available.
As to the way to they work is a little strange. All of them are set up to notify me when they "see" a human and will alert me. But all of them operate the same way where they turn on, alert, but don't track if a human is a little further away say in the street vs the sidewalk - but they alerted me a human is there - I don't understand this part. Also once they start tracking they will stop tracking once a human gets a certain distance (PIR sensor distance?) away from them even though the person is still rather large in its field of view. These do have PIR sensors which is supposedly what is used to turn them on so it noticed humans even a little far away and AI tracking seems not to take over for tracking a lot of times. Sometimes even pretty close to the sensor it won't track. If a person gets too close they are a little too slow in keeping the person in the middle of the frame.
Another issue, and this may be the software on the phone, is the charging indicators are a little wacky. There are times it is charging in full sun and the indicator for the sun is not lit. I have seen them indicate the battery charging at night. Some seem to be able to charge in some shade or light overcast sky and some don't. Definitely won't charge if the sun is shining in their direction and a shadow is cast on them.
I had one out of the box that wouldn't see the solar panel and another that seemed to stop charging.
That was the bad, now for the good. The dual lens is a pretty nice feature! When they do track they track fairly well. As they track a person they tend to get that person in the area where the zoom lens is on them, so pretty good if needing to identify someone. You can zoom in on the app to get a larger image of what you are seeing if need be. The solar panels do a good job in charging when in full sun and seem to charge a little in available light sometimes. I usually get a notification fairly quickly. They are attached to the Home Base 3 and they seem to be able to get great reception on my WiFi setup. Easy to install and startup.
A new phone app is supposed to be coming soon and I'm hoping it gets rid of the charging bugs. I'm hoping that with the new app and maybe firmware updates to the cameras these become better than a 3 rating.

First NO monthly fee.
Second NO monthly fee.
It's the monthlys that kill you. That being said this is NOT cheap. But this is VERY solid abd VERY high quality. I did alot of research before purchasing if you are on the fence buy it! I had my doubts due to some reviews but I have tested it. This thing has never went below 96 percent even on cloudy days. Battery life is excellent. People not working not connecting not charging I would suspect some installer error or some update firmware error this unit is flawless. I did take the extra precaution on caulking the seem on the solar panel.

Using as wildlife camera
I’m really having a lot of fun with this camera! I placed it about 10 feet high in a crape myrtle to capture the wildlife in our garden. The camera can record videos, take still pictures, zoom, and pretty much see everything in our backyard with the 360 pan control. The night vision is really a great feature as we can check in on our pets at night when they are outside unattended in the back yard. I’m slightly disappointed that this solar camera isn’t designed to be a full 24/7 live feed camera, but I normally just watch the wildlife in spurts anyway so it’s not a big deal.

Video is clear during the day and night
These are great cameras. The local 8GB of permanent storage is ridiculous, I would just rather have a removable SD slot.
Having to use only a phone APP is horrible because you have to download the videos to your phone and then transfer them to your PC. It is made for the homebase for max storage, but then you're dependent on the Wi-Fi of the homebase and if you own 100's of acres you aren't able to extend it.
I mostly use them as Game camera's which is really not their intent, so I have the motion turned all the way up. Though if you live in the country, it could literally scare the crap out of you if you trusted it. It is constantly alerting me that wild animals and even spiders as "Humans Spotted". Other than that, I like it because the AI tracking is awesome. If it thinks the deer are humas it will track them all over the place.
Vehicles in my driveway are too fast for the motion sensing; they catch the backend of the vehicle most of the time. They do try to track it, but runs out of room, so you have to really think about how you mount them if you're trying to track.
It does a great job of tracking people. If you walk into view, you're on camera everywhere.
The only real drawback is that the 3X is basically useless if you mount them by the directions. For it to sense motion it says it can only be about 7-10 feet high. When you zoom in, you're basically just seeing the dirt and can't shift the camera high enough to see anything further than a few feet away from the camera. It's almost as if the up and down motion is backwards. Anything you would need to zoom in on you can't shift up high enough to see.

Works Well When It Works but Is Inconsistent 🤔
This doesn't work perfectly all the time. The recordings can start too late. The tracking sometimes doesn't track and sometimes it says it's offline even though my router says it's connected. 🤔
It's a camera so let's talk about picture quality. It's good 👍 Good colors brightness white balancing it's a clear picture even at night with a good iso setting giving you a clear low light image. It also has a spot light to further enhance the image quality at night. The IR night vision is also good giving you a clear B&W picture. 😉👍 However months later after an app update the low light performance has dropped. It's not as bright anymore. They throttle performance. 🤐
The zoom is clear up to the double zoom. If you go further in doing the two finger stretch the image is pretty blocky and pixelated and it won't hold the tight zoom. It bounces back to the last zoom which is pretty clear in daylight and low light.
The audio needs work.🦻 It's not bad but it won't pick up certain sounds clearly unless they're close and the audio sometimes sounds choppy in a digital way. Talking and speaking to a person in a 10ft range is no problem. The alarm is good both in volume level and function.
I mounted the camera under an awning for some weather protection. Didn't want the camera to be in direct sunlight where the temperatures can soar during the summer or get soaked in the rain. The solar panel however must be mounted in direct sunlight. It is true the panel charges not being in direct sunlight but your rate of charge is much lower slower than consumption so it's best to mount the solar panel in direct sunlight.
At first the solar panel charged the camera fairly quickly as advertised only needing 2hrs. But as the weather changes during winter it's struggling to charge to 100% but it's also not 100% in direct sunlight anymore as the sun has shifted casting a bit of a shadow on the panel. 🫤
The sensitivity levels were pretty good picking up people walking by a good 75ft plus away. It initially detected the difference between people and vehicles quite well but now struggles to track pick up people especially in low light. It's a good camera but is Inconsistent and doesn't perform reliably all the time. It misses events here n there and doesn't always track smoothly or track at all.
All these issues can be fixed quickly and I know fairly easily through an FW update. 🤓When I first got it set up it worked great recording fully the entire event from one side of the screen to the other. Why does it start midway now? 🤔 unknown. It's a good camera with some quirks but good enough I would buy another. With the 360 pan tilt you only need 2 cameras to cover your whole house.
This is a far better camera than Blink with no subscription fees no modules no memory sticks to buy and no need to buy replacement batteries every few months. It all adds up think about it. This is an all in one plug n play. App is pretty good too. You can catch rude disrespectful people who have no manners or etiquette thwart potential criminals casing your house and have video evidence for police and a court of law. I would buy this again and am replacing all my Blink cameras to Eufy. 🫵😎👍 Bye bye Blink 👋
UPDATE: Purchased a 2nd one and placed this one out in the open with no protection. It performed great for a couple weeks then went completely dead. It will not charge via solar panel or plug in. It won't do anything and the app says it's offline verified by my router. What caused it to die being completely bricked? Being out in the open? The sun, cold weather? Unknown. It charged to 100% all the time usually from 90% or so. Just after I installed another Eufy cam this stopped working. Coincidence? IDK. The other that is under an awning still works fine. We'll see what the replacement does and how long it lasts.
UPDATE 2 and CONCLUSION: This camera has problems. I have purchased 3 of these and after a couple of months it no longer performs right. The 1st one I bought went completely dead. 2nd one no longer tracks or records anything at night. When using the custom setting and extending any time it doesn't work. Using the optimal setting sometimes records sometimes doesn't. 3rd one can't pick up humans anymore. It picked them up great at first but now fails to pick anything up. It only picks up some vehicles not all. This camera does not last. It also seems like they are throttling performance. There's no mechanical problems but seems the sensors and app are not working. Notifications are also late. Until they improve and fix the problems this is not worth buying because it quickly fails in a couple months. 😔 I want the brighter low light performance back.

Home run for Eufy!
UPDATE 2
Had gotten the camera working well on the WiFi connection. The HB3 connection never worked beyond a couple of weeks. But today, the camera mysteriously went offline and I cannot re-sync it. Absolutely nothing happens when clicking the sync button. Camera was at 100% battery yesterday so that is not the issue. Still, I tried charging it for well over the 10 minutes Eufy suggests - still nothing. The camera appears to be completely dead. Of course, I’m outside the return period. Such a shame, because this is a very cool camera and when it does work, it works great.
UPDATE
Camera worked great for the first week. But now, human and vehicle detection no longer work. Seems like a firmware or software issue, so hopefully Eufy fixes it promptly.
—————————————————————
Wow! I’ve wanted a pan-tilt camera for a while. I switched to Eufy about a year ago. Their products have been pretty good, but the only pan-tilt camera they offered was hardwired. Our new build doesn’t have a floodlight hookup (no idea why) and I can’t stand the sight of wiring on my home…so I waited for Eufy to make something like this…and THEY’VE DONE IT!
As you can see, I also bought a third-party pole mount and attached it to my gutter. I completed the setup after sunset, so haven’t been able to test the solar panel yet. But, the panel faces south, so shouldn’t have any problems charging up. I’ll update if I have any issues.
Video quality is pretty good (wish it was 4K or better) but I’ve only tested at night so far. No complaints though!
AI tracking seems to be very accurate and was a lot of fun to see and try out 🙂
Setting up the camera with the HB3 was easy, but did require a firmware update first - no big deal.
The mount does audibly click into place when attaching the camera, but it’s subtle - definitely wasn’t sure it was in all the way at first. But, that being said, everything seems to be securely attached and not loose.
As with anything, time will tell - but so far so good! Great job Eufy!!
