Feels like the black ones, but has a sharper attack sound for higher definition.
Mine was damaged (picture) so I returned it, but it is a nice general purpose pad for drum set players. It is not rock hard for marching drummers, and not quiet and soft for strength training, so it feels a lot like the normal black Evans octagonal pads that are the most commonly used pads. The white laminate layer adds attack, and makes it a little bit less quiet, but not too much.
