This comment is for the L357 recorder 128gig version. This is Amateur radio operator KF5IRG. Here is what I use this recorder for in ham radio. Used to condense a whole nights worth of activity on my scanning radio. Since this recorder can be set to record only sound it will skip silent scans, therefore I can record overnight activity and listen to it the next morning while having a cup of coffee in 30 min to an hour (depending on activity) what happened overnight! And using the line in feature no one in the house gets disturbed! I have used this daily since purchase about a year and 1/2 and no issues what so ever! Short Video included.

Falls apart.
Giving this 1 star is generous. Very cheaply made. The device, essentially fell apart after 3 months of VERY minimal use. The power button broke in half, no other button responds to unlock using PIN. Take what you'd spend on this, add a little to that and buy something better. This a waste of your money.

Product works for less than 2 months and then stopped working. Buttons failed and unable to start, stop, record… and of course the short return window has closed. I wouldn’t recommend this purchase

It lives up to expectation
So in my video, I do a walk-through all the features it does appear as listed everything everything about it is accurate in the description. The quality is nice. It doesn’t feel cheaply made. It doesn’t feel like it’s gonna fall apart. Fact that it has a nice rechargeable battery. It’s all been tested and it works. The speaker on the device is also very clear. The audio recording quality is very clear. In fact I had to turn down the gain and some of the audio recording settings because it was so sensitive, which is amazing for such a small device. The only thing that made me give it less than five stars was the fact that it does come with a charging cord for the device. It doesn’t come with the plug and the navigation system. You should read the manual to make sure you’re doing it correctly, but it doesn’t have obvious buttons or additional descry Saying that when you push menu it’s “OK /enter” and then when you push stop, that’s technically the back button when you’re going through menu items. But other than that great product and I’m excited to use it for a few different projects. I have coming up.

Very happy with this voice recorder! But it is dead!
The 1st one arrived defect (recording files contained just noises) and I returned it.
Disappointed, I then purchased ZOOM H1N. However, it lacks the features I need. Then I gave this Voice Recorder 2nd chance. This time it works nearly perfectly and the sound quality is very good.
I like these features:
1. Built-in 64GB SD memory;
2. Rechargeable battery, lasting for at least whole day recording;
3. In-line recording (or external mic) capable;
4. Good sound quality;
5. Timed recording;
6. Segment recording (time stamped);
Cons:
1. Unable to be mounted on tripod;
2. Users may be unable to change internal battery;
3. For me, a little too small to hold in hand.
I am returning ZOOM H1N today...

Error message: "Disk Error".
Tried to reset it to factory defaults, no good. It's dead.

Pleasantly Suprised
I bought this recorder originally to use in my college lectures (with permission from the professors) because it was hard to keep up with the lessons while also taking good notes. After checking out other voice recorders this one had the main features I was looking for. (Able to pick up the audio from anywhere in the classroom, clear sound playback, download recordings, memory space, can playback via speaker or by using earbuds and a rechargeable battery.) When I first opened the box I was pleasantly surprised at the quality because it was not built using cheap feeling plastic but solid metal. There is a good weight to it while handling it so I don't accidentally drop it while fumbling through my backpack. Even if I did it's durable enough so I would not have any worry about damage. I have had this recorder and used it several times over the past 2.5 years, it was definitely worth it. I have not had a single problem with it yet. I absolutely recommend it!

Nice Quality Recorder
I purchased this unit primarily for its line recording capabilities. I like to record local radio when I travel and had some big trips planned this year. The recording turns out very well. One specific feature I think that stands out from other competitors is the timed recording. I could record line in while I slept or went out. Many of the competitors don’t do this and some that do only allow timed recordings from the mic.
Battery life is also impressive. A good purchase !

I FIGURED OUT THE FILE TRANSFER ISSUE FOR MAC
This recorder worked incredible until i first plugged it into my 2019 macbook and all it did was charge, it didn't give me the option to transfer files. Frustrating. I remembered once i got it, i threw the extra stuff in a drawer with a hundred other cables. I went to transfer files & tried a couple different USB cables, and nothing. But after I found and used the *actual* USB cable it came with, it finally worked! You just gotta try the thicker, more sturdy usb cables. Now its perfect. Thank you!

Poor quality. Recording and playback quality very poor. You can hardly hear anything!!
Extremely disappointed. Recording quality is subpar and playback volume is very low. When I did the recording I was alone in a room. I can't imagine if I was in a luxury and there was other people talking nearby. Not recommended!!

Great sound quality, easy file transfer, but some critical design flaws
As a news reporter, I use it for recording public meetings and interviews. My previous recorder did not save the file and allow transfer to my PC, and I wanted this feature.
The Good - great sound quality, easy file transfer to PC, small and light (half the size of my previous recorder). The microphone is sensitive enough to pick up softer voices/sounds clearly.
The Bad -1) there is about a 5 second lag between pushing the record button and the start of recording, which frequently means asking the person I'm interviewing to repeat what has just been said so it gets on the recording. 2) the screen is small and not well-lit, making it hard to read in normal to bright lighting conditions. 3) there is no clip to attach it to a lanyard etc - it's small and easy to drop in the dark or have fall out of your pocket, and this feature would be a great addition (I jury-rigged one with a piece of tape - see photo)

Easy To Use and Great Sound Quality
I ordered this voice recorder to use with exercises for a book I'm currently studying, as well as to record sudden ideas for a book I'm writing.
It was most important to me to have great sound quality for transcribing, easy to use, and fits easily in my pocket. This voice recorder met every single one of my expectations! The instructions were very thorough and are set up in large pictures showing you how to do everything you need, along with common troubleshooting tips.
I love that you are able to place markers at certain points during the recording so you can easily skip playback to the most important parts of the recording easily, a great feature! The storage is excellent! Playback is simple and it's a seamless process to transfer your recordings to your computer/laptop for further use.
I highly recommend this product! It handles everything I need it for and more!

You get what you pay for
Title says it pretty well... the thing is VERY SMALL... like three four inches in length... could be overlooked, but its poor range coupled with the 16-ish second delay time it takes to start a single recording (not including the start-up time of the device from it being turned off making it a full 20-or-so seconds) is less than ideal in a situation where you need to start a recording unexpectedly. Honestly, not bad for $30. As long as the mic is pointing at what your trying to record, it can get the job done. I would recommend this as a good backup.

What's Not To Love? Great Small Recorder
This recorder is great! Right out of the box, it is small, as you can see, but really solid feeling and quality made. When it first arrived and I saw the size, I was skeptical that it would work well what I wanted to use it for which was to be able to record meetings. Well, I am completely impressed! I have used it now in meetings of 5 to 10 people which had to take place OUTSIDE because of Covid-19; and just recently, I used it to record a city council meeting that I attended which was inside - in a room that would hold about 75 people. It worked GREAT!! Even with people wearing masks! Would highly recommend. Small but mighty recorder!

Easy-to-use!
The device is overall great and easy-to-use. There was one thing I didn't like, but it's mainly because I don't have better headphones and a soundproof room to record things—the quality of sound can be a little scratchy if you don't have those two things, again it's an overall great device for when you write novels, or you're a lawyer. This device weighs a ton for a tiny yet powerful device. My favorite feature is its sleek design and that its metal. I've used this device nonstop since it arrived, and I'm happy with it.

Great quality product at a reasonable price
This product was well packaged/received and seems to be made of a high quality metal built to last. The sound quality is superb having had the mic recording 3-4 feet away and sound as if speaking directly into it. I intend to use this product to conduct EVP sessions at various locations and this product seems to have met/exceeded my expectations overall. For the price, I was actually expecting a plastic based product. As my first digital recorder ever owned, this product has sure left a high impression on me.

High quality, instructions are a must read
It’s the perfect size for throwing in my laptop case or purse on the way to interviews and it’s durable enough to do that! I did drop mine right out of the packaging and bent the microphone a bit but it hasn’t affected anything. The sound quality is great and all failed open on itunes on my computer. Playing back audio on the device itself is a bit tricky but the instructions do a great job of explaining how to work all of the features, though I wouldn’t say it’s self explanatory so definitely read the instructions before you start recording!

Barely used, screen broken, starting recording takes too long(boot up)
My screen broke out of "thin" air, never dropped, or never did anything crazy. Just sat on the table and recorded. The device goes offline from STANDBY mode very fast, so if you want leave your device ready and just press record, you need to flick the ON/OFF switch again and then wait to boot up to turn on the device.

The two microphones are nice to capture all surrounding noises and clear voices as well. The top microphone needs something to better block the wind or air because just moving the recorder back and forth blasts out all noise.
I like the monitoring feature where you can plug in the headphones and listen to what’s being recorded and adjust the recorder if necessary. The headphone however and the worst quality headphones there is. You literally have to peal the buds apart to use them. But I wasn’t looking for a nice pair of headphones when I bought this. It’s nice they provided some though.

A really nice little voice recorder !!
I really like the build quality of this little recorder, it does have some heft to it being as small as it is and It has sound quality is also good for being as small as it is also, which is nice because it fit in the palm of your hand and is just about a 1/2 longer than a Bic lighter and just as wide. which you can carry on you for meetings if your profession requires a lot of them that you have to attend to or for school students, or if you just have any thing you want to remember for later. You might have that important brain storm idea that you might want to save especially if your a writer,,, or if you like journaling and have any ideas or events for the day that you might want to record to jot down for later. all & all the price is affordable and will not break the bank and I definitely would recommend for any one looking for a nice little digital voice recorder !!

Solid, quality device
I have used the device for recording meetings to provide minutes for my team and managers. I have used it for phone and video conferences as well as small and large meeting rooms. The EVISTR's ability to pick up all voices and provide a clear recording has been amazing. The ability to transfer the files to PC and maintain the recordings as records is another bonus. Seems to have very good battery life. It is small but with a well built feel. Recommend buying the case for to protect the device but also to keep track of the thing. I have used it for up to 4 hours of meetings between charges. I have not had occasion to go beyond that yet. So far I am not disappointed at all. I would recommend to anyone who needs to record meetings, lectures, or what ever.

Battery life is great and its easy to use but the recordings come out all static and I cant make out a thing from my recording. I am a nursing student and I need these lectures and I cant even understand them i definitely will be returning this product

Exactly what we needed.
My wife is now the official curator of the TE King family history, she is using this recorder to capture stories and narrations about her mother's life, her father's life, stories about their ancestors and stories about her fathers work in the ministry. This recorder has great features, like date and time stamping each recording, excellent speaker, simple search functions, etc. With the ability to download the data from the recorder directly to our laptops, it will make is so much easier to transcribe this information later. Great purchase. Five stars.

Good recorder, received in a timely manner.I bought this recorder for my meetings and training briefs. sound quality is great.
I have used couple recorders from different brand, and this is the best one so far. It is awesome to use for recording lectures, meetings and interviews. You won’t be let down. You can see how it performs in my video.
here are couple points I like about this recorder.
1) Slim, lightweight and portable size, we can easily put it into our pocket or purse. A very good design for convenient carry.
2) easy to use. A power button on left side. Just press REC to start recording and press STOP to save. A little seconds lag at initial using, not a big issue.
3) Playback, the voice play on device itself is a little harsh, but after lowering downs its volume, it was acceptable. The recording file playback on my mac computer is fabulous, nearly same as the original file sound quality
4) It is capable to record at MP3 format and WAV format. That’s a good option
5) A big advantage, it has 16GB of internal memory that can hold up to 560 hr high quality MP3 recording file.
also here are something you may have problem with.
1) Mic is very sensitive. during recording, the class ambient sound can be captured. Hope they will add some strong noise cancelling function in future models
2) Screen is small, but seeable for me. It might need a bigger screen for some elderly.
3) Need a learning curve. It might take sometime to read the user manual, but it is very helpful. Take time to read through it, you can learn to use the it better. Small but not short on features
Overall, evistr did a great a job, such a small device with so many capable functions at this price. An affordable choice for your first recording device.
