Worth the price tag, works exactly as described, vinyls play extremely good. Friend brought a warped one and it still was able to play it with no skips and retracing. The finish is glossy and clean and I noticed you can hear the record as it plays even without a preamp.

Easily one of the best budget reference turntables on the market
The Fluance RT82 is easily one of the best budget reference turntables on the market. It feels solid and well-built right out of the box, and the motor’s optical speed sensor keeps playback rock-steady. Paired with the Ortofon OM10 cartridge, it sounds fantastic. What I love most about this specific model is how future-proof it is. Since it shares the exact same base as Fluance's high-end line, I can easily upgrade components like adding an acrylic platter or a higher-tier stylus over time without buying a whole new deck. Just keep in mind you’ll need a receiver with a phono input or an external preamp. Overall, it's an incredible value for anyone who wants great sound now and room to grow later.

Very nice turntable.
Looks and feels very quality. I have nothing bad to say about it. It sounds amazing once you have the needed phono preamp and quality speakers to listen through. Turntable feels like it deserves a glass cover rather than a plastic one with how luxury it looks and feels.

Excellent turntable for a beginner
This is my first real turntable, as opposed to a cheap all in one. Flunace offers a coupon code on their website for signing up for emails. The coupon code is only eligible through their website.
I ordered the white. I love the contrast of a record against the white and it also saves from fingerprints showing. It is a glossy white.
The turntable does require some setup and assembly, namely attaching the dust cover, leveling the table, installing the cartridge, and balancing the tonearm. All was very easy to do, and instructions included and with video are available through Fluance.
Having owned it for a few weeks, I am very happy with the purchase. I paired it with some Klipsch rp 500m speakers. Records sound great. And have had no issues. For those who want to upgrade some components , the RT82 is a great place to start.

In my opinion, the best intermediate turntable
my daughter bought me one of those suitcase record players that sound bad but get you playing records. After a couple of years of doing that, I finally decided that it was time to get a real turntable. it came down to the Fluance and a couple of others. I chose this one because it was in my price range and it was upgradeable. All of the Reference turntables from Fluance use the same parts so you can start at the price point you want and eventually end up with the top tier one if you want. I run this turntable through a Sony sound system, and it sounds great to my ear. The thing about this is, it gets you into the level of sound that everyone hopes vinyl will be when they get their first player. it is far and away better that any counter top type player and it still hold up under the scrutiny of a discerning ear.

Don't hesitate to grab this
Performs like turntables I've had that cost twice the money. Great sound, nice styling, no problems. Follow the balancing instructions on the tonearm and your albums will last forever. Please note it is manual, not automatic, but it does have a cue lever to lift and lower the arm, as well as auto-off which will stop the platter spinning 30 seconds after the end of an album side if you're not around to turn it off. Also note that it has no pre-amp, so it must be used with systems that have a phono input; it will not put out a "line level" signal so it can't just be hooked up to speakers directly. But these are standard features on high-end turntables, so most who order it know not to expect these functions.

RT82 .. why did I wait so long to buy this?
I recently resurrected my stereo stack after too many years, and found that my turntable had given up the ghost. Enter the Fluance RT82. I did a lot of research before deciding on the RT82.
Great decision! This is a superb choice for someone entering (or reentering) the vinyl world.
As the entry point to Fluance's Reference line of turntables, the RT82 has the same motor, plinth, tonearm, and the internals of their higher end RT85. It's silent, stable, and well engineered. And beautiful.
The RT82's cartridge is an Ortofon OM10, an excellent midrange one with a rich sound and light set on the record. The steel platter gives nice weight and stability; the RT82 comes with a quality rubber mat that grips the record and minimizes noise and static. I mention the cartridge, platter, and mat, because you can upgrade those later if you wish. If you do that, you have the highest end RT85! I don't plan on doing that as I like the sound and performance of the RT82 right out of the box, but it's nice to have an upgrade path.
Set up was relatively easy. You do have to place the plater, hook up the belt, install the cartridge head, and balance the tonearm. That's standard for a higher end turntable. I've done this sort of set up before and this was the easiest that I remember. Fluance has simple to read and follow instructions; lots of videos to do it are on YouTube. You can contact Fluance if you have an issue. Just be patient .. you can do it.
The RT82 is easily a 5 star purchase. Good price, terrific quality and build, and excellent sound. I'm enjoying the heck out of this purchase. Why did I wait so long?

Great Player!!
I was looking for a different look to take some hours off my inherited HH Scott PS-76 that I restored. The old silver on silver look just seems dated...but it's a great playing and sounding machine and will always cherish it.
Decided on the RT82 in Bamboo and it's built like a tank and beautiful. Speeds are spot on out of the box. Setup was super easy. I purchased the full acrylic platter at the same time and it's very nice. All my previous carts/styli are all Japanese made Audio-Technica and they all look great and sound great on this player. The Ortofon OM10 that comes with this is my first listen to a European made cart and gotta say that for a bonded elliptical it's has great clarity and seperation, smooth mids, defined bass, but rolled off low-end drive. I found tracking it at 1.55 grams seemed to give the best sound. I love the design of the cart though, looks very unique. Highly recommend this player for the money. Can't imagine anything could be better.

Wow is all I can say!
I bought the Fluance RT82 as an upgrade to my Crosley. I paired it with an Andover SpinBase speaker to keep the same small footprint that my Crosley had and I was blown away with the quality and the sound that this turntable produces. The Ortofon OM-10 stylus produces sounds from my classic Country records like I’m seeing the artist live.
When I set this up and lowered the stylus on my Street Survivors album Lynyrd Skynyrd never sounded better.
If you are looking for a great turntable look no further than the Fluance line!

Another review praising the bang for the buck
Bought this as a replacement for an aging Stanton turntable. Based on the reviews here and on YouTube, it seemed like it would be decent. The quality is better than anticipated. The sound is as clear and crisp as anything I've heard on much more expensive turntables. It feels solidly built and looks elegant. If you want high quality at an entry level price, this is it.

Very first turntable
I decided to explore the world of vinyl. After much research I settled for this turntable. Great reviews everywhere. I didn’t want to get a vintage turntable even though they are supposed to be great, i wanted something that is simple and work good straight out of the box. Plus, i dont know how to fix vintage stuff. I am glad i went with Fluance. Simple to setup, easy to follow instructions from their YouTube channel. took 15mins to set it up and i took my time since it is my very first turntable. i have this hook up with my pioneer sx-780, pair of Usher s-520 speakers. Turn it On, slowly lower the tonearm. VOILA, wow! wow! Michael sounds really good. i am very pleased. sounds great. i am not disappointed. For the very first turntable, i think i am satisfy. There's room to upgrade later down the road if i wanted to. Upgrade platter and cartridges. For now, i am happy.

Great Budget Friendly Turntable, even for beginners
After my Crosley 5:1 broke I knew it was time to get serious about preserving my vinyl and finding a turntable to provide a better listening experience. Amazing! Setup was a BREEZE!
Absolutely elegant product. The instructions are so easy to follow and setting up everything only took a few minutes - and this was my first time setting up counterbalance and anti-skate.
Looks incredible in my room. The dust cover is a little more “Smokey” than I thought, but I really like it.
I don’t know how they can sell such a great product at such a great price.

Best turntable at $300 price point
Noticeable upgrade from the RT81 model. Bamboo looks sleek. My setup uses a bellari preamp, Sony receiver, and passive Sony bookshelf speakers. Recommend adding in a record weight for stability and added audio improvement.
Make sure to grab a vinyl record cleaning kit. The Ortofon stylus on this turntable is great at picking up the slightest amount of dust on a record.

Nice Turntable
I did a lot of research and it ended up between the RT82 and the Audio-Technica AT-LP120. I’m so glad I went with RT82. This turntable is so great and the features on it is so nice for the price range. I’m not that critical on sound and think the Ortofon OM10 is just perfect for me. I do think I will get an acrylic platter down the road. Overall it sounds great and couldn’t be any happier.

Amazing Turntable
Wow. What an amazing turntable. I upgraded from an older Sony PS-LX4 and the difference in sound is unbelievable. You can tell Fluance put a lot of thought and care into this product. Everything about this turntable speaks of qualify and craftsmanship. I chose this over the AT-LP120XUSB/BT for the better stylus and auto-stop feature. I was specifically looking for a turntable that would stop after the record was done playing (as I'm not always around to immediately lift the tone-arm) and this does it well. Fleetwood Mac and The Eagles have never sounded so good. I love it. Highly recommend!

Perfect entry point for getting back into vinyl!
HUGE upgrade over the Audio-Technica AT-LP60XBT I purchased after deciding to flirt with vinyl again. Don't get me wrong... it was that turntable that convinced me to dive back in. Perfectly fine starter BUT it's biggest limitation is you can't change or upgrade the cartridge as you can with Fluance. And it's super easy to do with the removable head shell (LP60 is fixed). You can just buy a premounted cartridge and do nothing more than change the head shell and set the tracking force and anti-skate (easy).
In hindsight, RT82 would have been a better choice. Superior in every way, the Ortofon OM 10 cart is a vast sound quality improvement with it's elliptical shape. The sound is much more defined.
The isolation feet make it easy to have turntable and speakers on same surface with no fear of cranking up the volume. Balancing the tonearm was a snap. Personally, I like the auto-stop function just fine, but it's not an automatic return. The LP60XBT is fully automatic which I appreciate getting back into it.
The RT82 does not have a preamp so you do need to have one or buy an RT81/80 that have an installed preamp. Another option is my set up. I have Klipsch The Fives speakers that are also preamp, amp, BT and more. I didn't love those speakers at first but Klipsch now has an app that allows you to tweak the sound AND I paired with a Klipsch sub... with that... chef's kiss!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Fluance RT82 to beginners and those on more of a budget. it seemed all perfectly new, but saved me enough to buy "The Stranglers: Peaches". The turntable is the exact same as the 83/84 except the cartridge. If you have the clams, you might just buy the RT85 with the Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge or the Nagaoka MP-110.
UPDATE 2/26/23: Got upgrade-itis and fitted the tone arm with an AT VM530EN/H cartridge. Another HUGE step up in sound. Name the fancy audiophile words and, yep, it’s a lot better. The OM10 was fine. The new cart was so much finer! It’s paired with a Pyle PP999 preamp, Aiyma T9 amp (very underrated) and Sony SSCS5 speakers, Klipsch R-12SWi sub. This is a nice sounding setup for getting in. I’m going to upgrade the preamp, just haven’t found the right deal yet! I bought everything on deep sale or box damaged. Turntable 275, amp 80, preamp 13, speakers 66 (regularly see box damage drop under 80), sub at Costco 179, new cart from Ebay 140. Every component was like new… not a sign of use on any of it.
The Cheap Audioman on YouTube is a great source of info.
UPDATE: Tried many preamps... Fosi Box 2 and 4... I didn't like either. Pro-Ject Phono Box... same. Dull lifeless. Hit something really good and low budget with the ART DJ Pre II though. Big upgrade in sound and really liked the gain and capacitance control. Play with that one because you can dial it in. BUT... I've settled on the iFi Zen Phono. Head and shoulders above those others. Yes, a lot more money... 3x the ART. It really offers a totally different and superior sound output. If you have the money or can save up... I found the iFi Zen to be very, very worth it. On a budget? Can't beat that ART if you ask me.

I bought the RT82 because my vintage Dual 502 turntable developed a hum that would increase with volume. I couldn’t track it down and had been looking into Fluance for months. There isn't a better turntable for the price!
A turntable needs to be simple, good looking, and accurate. Well... welcome to vinyl perfection everyone old and new to the industry! My setup includes an Ortofon 2M Blue, along with an Ortofon headshell... Acrylic platter. I'm also using a Pro-Ject phono box MM which is grounded, and my output is through a pair of Edifier R2000DB's. I only use quality cables...I've just migrated from a Denon DP-300F. In my setup, the Fluance runs circles around the Denon in every category and its not even close. It makes any of my old turntables look like toys. The workmanship, precision build, weight, look, sound, performance, and price...are all amazing when compared to anything else. The ONLY better quality turntables for the curious listener might be when we are getting into the expensive Rega or McIntosh turntable ranges...and those cost thousands more! I'm an experienced listener and tech savvy adult who has been around music, I also play music so I know quality from bullshit and I know turntables... and Fluance is one of the best brands I've owned so far. This thing is so quiet and the acrylic is so perfect that I can't even tell it's spinning unless I look closely. This actually exceeded my expectations because all other brands have some sort of issue or they are all known for something. I can't name 1 thing I don't like about my Fluance turntable... that says a lot in this day and age. BTW, the first LP I listened to on this turntable... Dark Side of the Moon. Money never sounded better. Soundstage, phasing, etc... all candy to my ears.

Quality materials focused on sound delivery; not for DJs or for creating mp3s
Being inside more, I longed for music that feels more like an experience and more tactile than just skipping through playlists. I have a few records that I bought because I loved the albums, but just had them on display. It was time to hear if they sounded differently than their digital counterparts. So I did some research and decided on the Fluance RT82 turntable, the Suca Audio preamplifier (about $50) since the turntable doesn't come with a preamp, and the Edifier S1000MKIII powered bookshelf speakers which work with the turntable but also can take other inputs and can stream my playlists over bluetooth. Listening to Spotify sounds great on the speakers, but listening to John Coltrane, The Feelies, and Neutral Milk Hotel on vinyl really perked up my ears. Even my wife and kids noticed the difference. My 12 year-old wanted to put on the next record and now my 14 year-old wants her own vinyl copy of Olivia Rodrigo's Sour. The biggest difference my ears can perceive is the space between the notes; a record like Crazy Rhythms takes its time to unwind. I started to recognize how compressed mp3s sound in that there's so little silence. Whereas listening to the vinyl, I can really picture the musicians playing those notes--the drumstick being pulled back before crashing again upon the high hat. Back to the tactile part of the turntable--there's a little lever that lifts the arm. When I first moved the cartridge into place, flicked the lever back down, and watched how slowly and smoothly the needle dropped toward the spinning vinyl all through the perfect balance of the counterweight, I knew I made the right purchase.

Fluance Turntal
I don’t know to much about turn tables but I went for this one after reading up on it and it’s in the mid range price wise but most importantly the quality and the look are superb. I assembled the few pieces with ease. I had help balancing the arm though which really wasn’t hard just a bit intimidating to a beginner. I have played a few very old albums that have proven that this turntable has proven to be the best for the price for a beginner album enthusiast.

This is the One
I waited a month for this to come in and it was worth every second of it. I had read reviews and researched a lot of other turntables and even returned (the pro-ject) one to get this Fluance RT82.
The sound is crisp and you wouldn't even know there is a motor in it if it was possible. I did purchase an acrylic platter and it was 100% worth the upgrade. Would 10/10 recommend this to anyone in the market for their first turntable or even if you're in the market for a new one. I almost went with another pro-ject turntable and I'm happy I didn't. You certainly can not beat it for the price (I purchased mine at 299, I'm not sure what it's at now).
The only thing I would have liked to see is the option to purchase a Grado cartridge but I can always do that in the future anyway. Still, the Ortofon OM10 cartridge is an all-around great cartridge and I can see why they would offer these with their product.
3 year update: this turntable is absolute quality still three years later with probably over a thousand hours on it. I did upgrade to the ortofon 2m blue cartridge and love it. No regrets with this purchase.

Great Turn Table, Great Value, Lazy packagers.
When this arrived, I quickly opened the box, because I was excited to try it out.
I was very dissapointed in the packaging that was done to keep the turntable safe durring shipping. As my picture shows. It was just a box, inside a much bigger box, with a single piece of packaging paper to keep the box from rumbling around inside the shipping box.
The pavkaging designers from fluance did an excellent job though, as did UPS. Nothing was damaged.
As for the Turntable, I am very pleased. The first 20 minutes the turntable sounded very quiet, and had little definition in the sound. Then, it quickly improved. Much better sound than the cheapo off brand we had before.
I don't think you can find a better turntable for $300.

I received my Fluance rt82 turntable showed up 1 week earlier than advertised in a lightly marred box (better than expected). Was a straight forward assembly with the directions supplied, although plenty of videos out there to walk you through step by step if needed. Wow! Gorgeous turntable! When I played the first side of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers it was a little tight sounding no dynamics or voicing noticed but by the 3rd song it was opening up. By the 4th side of the double album the sound was magnificent excellent voicing with much better highs and low's. I remember more popping and cracking during playback on my previous turntables (been years)..
Like most people I had searched and researched all turntables in a reasonable price range with no particular brand in mind and I kept ending up back at the Fluance.. im very happy with my choice..
I have nothing but praise for the Reference series turntables.
If you are shopping for a quality tt. between $200 to $500, i highly recommend Fluance if you are on the fence.
Side note> powering this beauty with a Yamaha V2090 receiver, Cerwin vega re 30's and a pair of Sansui sp 3500's..awesome sounds 👌

Got a bunk one
Consumer reviews are by consumers about their experience and that is exactly what follows.
I was extremely excited to get a nice turntable as a birthday present from my wife. I waited and oh it was a tough wait. When it showed up I noticed right away, everything looks quality. Just the amount of stuff and packaging in the box is impressive. White gloves to help you set it up clean! Wow! I spent over an hour unpacking and setting this thing up. Installed headshell, belt, leveled it, ran the wires, etc. Took a while but it looks great!
So time to spend the evening kicking back with my lady and jamming out (did I mention Birthday?) I drop on a Pink Floyd record, and what the heck is this awful noise coming out of my stereo? It sounds like a chord, but just warped, like a spooky haunted house thing. Im like hunh? I know Pink Floyd is weird sometimes but this is just awful. The record player is speeding up and slowing down like crazy! I dont mean a little wow and flutter, no I mean just all over the map. See video. Audibly and even visually just way out of wack. Obviously bad speed control. Just for good measure I tried some other records. Same. I read the book 3 times to make sure I didn't miss anything and looked through all the troubleshooting tips. Nothing applied. My hopes of enjoying the rest of the evening with some vinyl and my lady, just dashed. Wow was I disappointed.
Now I realize I could've called Fluance the next day, or any number of things, but I didn't. I was already well over an hour in this and had another 45 minutes of packing all these little bits back ahead of me. My time is more valuable than that. Sorry, not calling, just done. I'm sure If I got a replacement it would have been amazing like all these other positive reviewers, but forget it. Done. Returned and bought the very popular model of a different brand that costs just a little more.
Looks great, but what can I say? I am glad many others find it great, the above is my particular experience.
