BEST INTERFACE ON THE MARKET!

This was one of the best things I have bought for my personal home recording studio! The sound quality is by far the best I've had out of many other interfaces. It's very sharp looking and fits anywhere within the workstation.

You have both a line in and mic channel, and one cool feature that this unit has is a switch for direct sound on/off. The volume knob allows for a perfect in ear mix of music and sound while recording with headphones. the sound card is superb and can over ride your pc sound card for a much better sound quality and 0 latency when done properly.

Plug and play is as easy as it sounds! I use it with SONAR X3 Producer and it picked it up right after driver install. This is a must for any recording studio and is small enough to pack up to go record a local band in the comfort of their own space!

Cuts out often and doesn't operate most of the time

I'm rating this low because it doesn't work well with Windows 7 at all. Constantly cuts out and freezes. In the middle of recording or broadcast, it will stop working and then sometimes work just fine. It's hit and miss. Seems like a driver issue. I would avoid this purchase. here's the thing ... This shouldn't be cutting out in the software. Have to disable the device and than enable it again hoping it works. It works for like 15 seconds and just cuts out.

Its a really great inrerface for condensers like the spark! It has enough power for a usb power supply.

The perfect preamp for voice overs!

I have been a voiceover artist and talk show host for over 10 years. To me this preamp is the greatest thing sonce aliced bread. Most people in VO have been used to using mixers, vocal strips etc. The truth is, all you need is your mic, recording software, and this. The setup for this is super easy. If you are going to do VO then this unit is perfect with just one mic XLR input. I love the way the lighted rings on on the volume knob glows green when your sound is perfect but red if your voice input is too loud. Simple and elegant.

Clean and distorted solos are good, but distorted rhythm makes a metal sound I do not like. It is fuzzy and has no definition. I go from my JCM 900's effect's loop into the Scarlett Solo. It only works if I have it switched to "Instrument" and not "Line." It looks like I will have to crank up preamp's clean gain to get a distortion that would fit it or record with a mic, which I do not like to hassle with.

It is small and built well. It is high-quality and not cheap. I recommend it. I think it might be better if it had EQs. I could probably dial in my tone better.

Amazing. Simply Amazing.

Check back soon to find out how it stands up to an extensive trip to Europe.

In short, it's plug and play, it's sturdy, sounds great, and it's cheap. What more could you want?

This interface is amazing. While I have not used it for producing yet, it sounds amazing just listening to iTunes. To enable it in Mac OSX, just plug it in, and enable it in the system preferences under "sound". I will update my review later to include travel, hackintoshes, and producing using Logic Pro X.

The only downsides I see are no separate headphone volume control knob, and only RCA outputs. An extra 3.5 mm output would be great.

Edit: I cranked up the volume and it seems to have faded, but it's still plenty loud. Also, I can't test it with a hackintosh becuase it won't boot for some reason, however it works absolutely beautifully with Logic X on my Mac Pro, my MacBook Pro and my MacBook Air. I will soon be traveling to Europe, so it will be a great endurance test.

Edit: After Europe, I had so much on my mind that I forgot about the review, and I have to say that this thing really held up even after it fell about 10ft (inside a suitcase). This thing is built like a tank, but I think I'll be upgrading to the 6i6 shortly. But for travel, I can't find a better interface

Solid USB Pre-amp. I now use it to podcast weekly.

Before getting this Focusrite Scarlett Solo, I had been using a Scarlett 2i2 to podcast for over a year and loved it.

I wasn't really using it to its full potential though, because I only needed 1 XLR input. Enter the Scarlett Solo. It has everything I need for to podcast with my Heil PR-40 XLR microphone.

- 48v Phantom Power

- Monitoring via headphones or speakers via RCA outputs.

- Lag-free connection via USB.

Super small. Looks slick. No problems.

If you need a single XLR + single instrument input pre-amp, get this. You won't regret it.
