Not a scare tactic, don't regret the decision a child makes with your home defense weapons

I purchased two for my house, one above the bed and the other is in the living room end table and it appears to anyone seeing it for the first time to be a charging station. This decision was in response to a real situation! After watching the news about a young boy taking his dads gun to school my wife and I agreed that although we trust the grandkids that come to our house we don't trust the reality of the world we live in. We have several handguns for personal carry and home protection. If I forget to remove one from my shoulder bag or leave one in a soft bag above the bed that's on me. The one thing that brought me to this purchase was realizing that our 11 year old knew I kept a gun in the carry gun in the bag so I have no excuse for leaving it there and the second thing was the court systems no tolerance for mistakes. No they go directly into the safe and it looks like a charging station and we don't tell anyone any different. We put red duct tape over the front so it has nice a soft light at night and added a second charging station although the one included works great and charges my Apple watch. .

Don't lose your Manual

We can not recommend this product, FTOP the company has disconnected contact services and will not respond to emails. We have used this product for over 6 months and the clock is constantly off. Believe it or not the programming sequencing is not intuitive or similar other models. YouTube videos which were there 3 months ago are gone. Bottom line is don't lose your manual because the product becomes a paperweight on your night stand with the wrong time. We can't reset our PIN or register more finger prints. The only video online is a sales overview . Don't waste your money.

FTOPs Customer service center is always having issues , and the phone number listed is 555 LOL so it's not legit.

Secure and multifunctional Biometric safe

It is secure and multifunctional. It displays the internal temperature and the time, and features a wireless charger for mobile phones, earbuds, and smartwatches. It is highly secure, allowing you to store firearms, cash, jewelry, and other valuables.

Watch stopped charging

Watch charger stopped working after a couple months. Otherwise great.

Minor flaws

This product has a few minor flaws. The dimmer doesn't seem to work and the temperature and humidity sensors could be more accurate. The humidity sensor reads at least 5% lower than the actual humidity level and the temperature sensor is high by 1-2 degrees. Also the seller doesn't mention that the watch charger is only compatible with Apple Watch. I had to read the manual to find that out. Thankfully the phone charger is compatible with Samsung. Again these are minor flaws, but considering that the cost of the safe is significantly more than a basic biometric gun safe they are worth noting. However the functionality of the safe itself works very well. I paid less than $150 for it on sale so the minor flaws are not enough to send it back.

Excellent desktop/nightstand gun safe with fingerprint reader and electronics charging.

I love this safe!

Fits right on the nightstand. The alarm works well, and the clock is easy to see. The fingerprint reader is fast, and the button sequence does as well.

Charges my iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods.

Holds a handgun and two magazines. I feel even more safe at night knowing that I can access my firearm quickly and quietly if needed.

Get with the times.

This biometric gun safe is seriously impressive. The fingerprint reader is fast and reliable, opening instantly without the lag or misreads I’ve experienced with other safes—even ones that cost twice as much. The build quality feels solid, the design is sleek, and setup was straightforward. In 2026, there’s no reason to settle for outdated lock technology when biometric security has come this far. This safe proves you don’t have to overpay to get modern, dependable protection. It’s a smart upgrade and a great example of keeping up with the technology of today.

Nice bedside table safe!

Good quality safe. Easy and straightforward set up instructions. Drawer opens quite smooth and the fingerprint sensor is very reactive to all my registered prints. Nice led light inside that illuminates upon opening. Very clear digital clock and humidity/temp on the front face. Has its own alarm clock setup as well. Charging pads work well for my Samsung earplugs and phone. Best safe for bedside tables.

Perfect bedside safe

This is such a cool product. It holds my gun securely, charges my devices, and has an alarm clock all in one. This cleans up the bedside table a lot. I love that this safe can be plugged in, as many require batteries. This has the option of either. 6 numbers allows for tons of combination possibilities. The fingerprint scanner makes quick access easy, and you can register tons of them for the same finger to make sure it works well.

It comes with mounting hardware, I just hadn't installed it yet in the video.

Security safe in plain sight

This safe is easy to use and provides a secure accessible storage that blends into your room. Looking like a digital clock with an electronics charger pad, no one would take a second look. The instructions are easy to follow but when I had problems with the dimming feature, customer service responded within a reasonable time. I love this safe and will buy it for other family members.

Don’t look any further, this is the one to order!

The perfect bedside safe. Small enough to have on a night stand but big enough to hold everything you need. My favorite thing about this safe is it doesn’t require batteries. You can plug directly into the wall and power it that way or of course use batteries as another option. I love that it has a charging station on the top. The display shows the time, temperature and humidity. You’re able to use it as an alarm clock as well. To unlock the safe you can either use the number key pad or fingerprint. It’s hold up to 20 fingerprints. The inside of the safe is perfect for two small hand guns. I also really like it has an LED light when the safe opens. This way if it’s dark you can see what you’re reaching for. Honestly, a perfect safe and worth the money. Packed very well and comes in cloth bag to protect it. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking!

Quiet and Fast!

Absolutely Fabulous! Will be replacing my current "snack" safe. The charger top will clean up my nightstand and my midnight snacks will be safe from my wife and kids... LOL!

But seriously this safe works great especially when you set the beeps to silent. It will charge my phone and clean up my nightstand so no more extra cords sitting around. The face features temperature and humidity, the time and an alarm clock, battery charge and shows that it is plugged in and working. The interior volume is sizeable and being able to bolt it down or use the cable makes it more versatile!

Great beside safe. Wireless charging is great. My watch isn't compatible, but the safe gives you several options to plug in your own charger. Great size and easy to mount. You can plug this safe in as well as have battery.

Great biometric fingerprint safe

Well built biometric hand gun safe. It is a great size for other valuables. It comes nicely packaged with a backup key. It has plug in power with battery backup. Make sure to use new non-rechargeable batteries. It will not charge external devices unless it is plugged in. The LED display is easy to read. It comes with a security cable and none slip feet.

Nice but makes a buzzing sound.

Overall this is a decent safe. Biometrics works fine and you have a key pad option. Also comes with a locking cable and mounting screws.

The additional charging ability of a phone, watch and earbuds is nice.

The problem is the mini buzzing sound coming from the charging area. While not load it is still annoying.

Not worth it

I’ve only had this since July and already it has broken. None of the buttons work and the screen just flashes on and off. The biometric reader also doesn’t work. Had to use the key to get access.

Quick and smooth gun safe

I was pleasantly surprised when I tested the door for the first time. I have pictures of the unboxing… pretty though, has everything you’ll need. I like how it can charge your phone, watch and AirPods. I like the weight of it, seems pretty solid. The only thing I would do to make it better is to have better instructions. There were a couple of misspellings I caught. It would flow better if after the Code Resetting, the section for Registering Fingerprints, would be next; instead of Registering Fingerprints - Important Tips. It was confusing on how to register the fingerprints.

All in all, a great product.

Excellent Quality and Biometrics that work!

Love this safe. I’ve been looking for one with an alarm clock for my nightstand and this for the bill. Biometrics works well, decent weight fairly easy setup instructions. Very pleased just ordered another for my RV.

Good Quality Safe, Just what I needed

Overall I am very Impressed with this safe. Let me try to touch on each feature it provides:

Gun Safe (Likely the reason you bought it):

Build quality feels solid and is on par with any other safe of this size/form factor.

Interface (Biometric, number pad, key) are easy to use and reliable. Definitely be sure to input your finger print multiple times and I found it helpful to end on a position where your finger covers the whole scanner.

Access - When level, you would have to manually pull the drawer out if needing to access quickly (a bit of a bummer but not a deal breaker). Training is your best friend here, but I think I will just slightly lift the beck end to give it an assist as this makes the drawer open much better.

Noise - Hold the 1 button to disable the loud beeps. Otherwise the motor does make a noise, but nothing too obvious or loud

Clock Interface:

The clock interface is not bad to set up once you understand how and the manual explains it well.

Display is bright and easy to read.

Wireless Charger:

It is awesome that they added 3 access ports here. Personally, I think the watch one might be a bit gimmicky, but definitely nice to have the option.

I did try all three of them (latest iPhone, latest Apple Watch, AirPods Pro) and all worked with ease and not much finicking around.

Power:

The unit allows for battery or wall plug for power. I am opting for the wall plug option, as I feel like all the bells and whistles on this safe would drain batteries quickly (though I did not test that). Definitely nice that the option exists though!

A rather sturdy and functional safe with a built in triple charger!

The CTC01 makes a strong first impression. The body is well-constructed, with a front panel design reminiscent of old digital alarm clocks—at night it could easily pass for a vintage VCR sitting on the desk. The included security cable is substantial, and notably, it can only be installed or removed when the drawer is open, adding an extra layer of security.

Environmental Sensors

The built-in temperature and humidity display feels like more of an afterthought. It takes over an hour for the readings to normalize after a change in environment, so it’s not well-suited for quick spot-checks… especially if you intended to use this as a travel safe in a hotel.

Interior Quality

Instead of cheap “egg crate” foam, the interior uses a thinner, dense rubber foam lining. This should protect your firearm’s finish without scratching, while also keeping the interior sleek and low-profile.

Wireless Charging Performance

The integrated wireless charger is functional but awkwardly laid out. Charging an iPhone 16 Pro Max alongside an Apple Watch is a challenge, as the watch competes for space at the bottom of the triangular charging pad. However, charging the iPhone with AirPods works fine. It’s not unusable—it just doesn’t seem optimized for charging all three devices at once.

The manual claims there is a USB-C port on the back of the charger, but if it exists, it’s not easily accessible. I looked for the panel to remove to see if it’s hiding but either it’s tighter than I can get a grip on or it is missing… so this may be a feature of a different revision.

Mounting Considerations

The safe includes hardware for mounting, but only two screw holes are positioned near the front corners. You can remove the drawer to access them, but it’s awkward without an angled screwdriver, and you must be careful not to damage the ribbon cable that connects the drawer’s display, keypad, and fingerprint sensor.

It’s understandable that there are no rear mounting holes—the design makes them virtually impossible to reach. However, this means the mounting setup is more of a deterrent than a true theft-proof system. If someone could get leverage on the unsecured back end, the front two screws could be defeated with rotational force. In practice, the security cable is a far more reliable way to tether the safe in place.

Final Verdict

The FTOP CTC01 is a solidly built and visually discreet safe with a good security cable system and a premium-feeling interior. Its weaknesses lie in slow environmental sensors, awkward wireless charging layout, and a mounting system that’s better suited to deterrence than total immobilization. For stationary home use with the security cable, it’s a strong pick. For frequent travel or rapid environmental checks, it’s less ideal.

Awesome Bedside Safe

Really impressed with the quality and value of this safe. There are many options out there for gun safes but this checks all the boxes for me. 1) you want a bedside safe to be discrete or hidden, this does both perfectly because it really looks like an alarm clock with charger, and looks very sleek. 2) for a bedside gun safe to be effective, you don’t want to have to open a drawer in your nightstand, than unlock it etc, this solves any accessibility issues because it’s always just right there. 3) the storage capacity is excellent, and you can see can easily fit a full size pistol and spare mag with room to spare 4) while it plugs in, it does come with a battery backup, redundancy is important. Overall very happy with this purchase, looks great, functions even better, fingerprint and code both work flawlessly, would buy again. For the price it really is a tremendous value.

Sleek & Convenient

This is a really nice bedside table topper - it’s got three different secured ways to access the safe, with dimmable lights (that can be completely turned off), a loud chime that can be turned off (except for an alarm to let you know if someone is messing with your safe). The fingerprint sensor has 20 different saved settings, so me and my wife can both have several different fingers saved. Size-wise, the actual gun storage section is on the smaller end, but I was just barely able to squeeze two pistols in. That’s a little surprising just because the overall safe seems like it will take up a lot of room on the bedside table.

That issue is mitigated though by the ability to charge all my devices on top of the safe. The charge works perfectly (AC adapter for the safe was included inside the safe itself). The only thing I noticed was that with a phone, watch, and AirPods, the charging area got a little “busy” and my phone has to sit a little cockeyed, as shown in the picture. Strangely, the manual mentions that we should use a type C cable to charge the devices; this seems both unnecessary and impossible to me, which I’m chalking up to a translation error.

Overall, it’s a good safe that doubles as a clock (and temperature gauge!) that I could see fitting into a lot of rooms. As shown in my video, it’s really simple to use, and it will securely reject wrong fingerprints.

Great Safe for Quick Access and Peace of Mind

This is an excellent choice for those who want an easily accessible safe for firearms or valuables. Here are details of my review:

PACKAGING: The safe is well packaged and arrived without any damage. The instructions, spare keys, and other parts are easily accessible. The cloth bag for the safe was a nice touch.

CONSTRUCTION: The safe is well made. The slides for the drawer are very solid and the unit opens and closes with little resistance. The icons, numbers, and letters on the display are large and easy to see. The buttons for the security code are large and feel substantial with tactile and auditory feedback.

INSTALLATION: The safe is easy to set up. The instructions are simple and easy to follow. The package includes keys, power cord, security cable, and mounting hardware should you want to secure it to a shelf.

OPERATION: The safe is easy and straightforward to use. After you program your security code by pressing the button inside the drawer, you can program your finger print. The safe can hold up to 20 fingerprints, so you can program multiple of your own fingerprints or those of other family members. The internal light is helpful if you access the safe in the dark. The safe makes rather loud beeping noises when you press the keys or use the fingerprint pad, but it has an option to silence the sounds. The safe is rather hefty at 11 pounds. Also, depending on the size of your night stand, it will take up a lot of real estate. NOTE: To use the contact charger for wireless charging, you have to use the supplied power cord; you cannot charge your devices with just the AAA batteries.

This safe is fantastic, much better than I expected. It comes extremely well packaged. It has an extremely sleek design with plenty of room inside. The clock and charger are really just a bonus. It is very easy to set up and use, took about 5 minutes.

Sleek, Secure, and Smart

I’ve been using the FTOP Biometric Fingerprint Gun Safe for a few days now, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my nightstand setup. The build quality feels premium, and it blends in nicely with my space without drawing attention.

Setup was quick and easy—just a few minutes and it was ready to go. The fingerprint scanner is responsive, and the interior has just enough room for my firearm and a few extra essentials. 99% perfect, still a keeper!

Its so close to being the perfect nightstand safe. Plenty of room for a full sized pistol and a magazine or two. Security cable feels sturdy, controls work great, fingerprint scanner seems to be awesome, pops open with authority.

Only thing missing is a little qc on how the drawer slides are mounted, my right side seems to be 2-3mm low, doesn't affect its usability but looks kinda bad

Great, high quality, useful safe!

Safe is extremely high quality. It’s a little smaller than I would like but I can see why they made it the size they did (otherwise it would be too big for a nightstand). Safe works well and charges devices properly. Also looks good on my nightstand. Additionally, the fingerprint scanner stores up to 20 prints and works perfectly. I am very happy with the safe!
