Great first phone for kids

I bought the Gabb Phone 4 for my son’s 10th birthday and we love it so far! We’ve tried other kid-friendly devices, including a Gizmo, but I wanted something that felt more like a real phone without giving him unrestricted internet access.

I love the GPS tracking and safety features, and the phone itself looks great - even the packaging reminded me of an iPhone! The camera is pretty decent too. It gives him some independence while still giving me peace of mind as a parent. Definitely a great first phone!

It’s a great phone for kids, youth or adults who need a locked-down phone. We have an adult IDD who needed a safe phone for calling texting and location tracking. Easy to set up. Great price. Great cell service and perfect for our needs.

Safe phone for kids!

This is a great phone! I’ve had no problems with reception. It has the same appearance as the really expensive phones but it’s much safer and less expensive. I can see exactly what messages are going back and forth, who’s calling and where my son is and I can manage his contacts. The battery life lasts for hours with continued use. The camera can stay uninstalled so you don’t have to worry. Customer service for Gabb is incredible. They helped me set it up because I’m a bit older and not up to par on today’s technology. Its durability is obvious. I expect it will last a long time! Thank you Gabb!

Please do not fall for this scam

We have had grandson's Gabb 4 for 32 or so days. Immediately, we learned that the weather app is terrible/useless. Other apps are weak enough to be pointless. The camera is the worst cell phone camera I've seen in the past 15 years, taking poorly focused, useless photos. Then the video quit working. We tried all the troubleshooting steps repeatedly, stopping short of erasing everything and starting over.

Customer support had me try everything again (they were quite nice), but no luck. So we had to completely erase the phone and start again. That fixed video. Then, the next morning, the phone locked up ... bricked.

I decided to cancel the account on the last day (their words) that I could return the device for credit. When I canceled the message then was "too late ... you now own an electronic brick". This is a very nice scam ... Sell bricks for a couple of hundred dollars. Sell brick accessories. Then screw over the customer.

Go out to a real cell carrier and find out how you can get a real phone that will mimic what Gabb says its phone will do. I suspect that the other, similar outfits are into the same scam. Go to a reliable place.

Edit: It took hours over two days but I finally got Gabb to agree to at least a partial refund and the phone is in the mail to them. We are looking at a iPhone with all the parental controls turned on. I have an appointment with them on Saturday. I still think this Gabb 4 phone is not worth the frustration.

The item is great! My only wish is there were a few more kid friendly apps that could have access to reading or other educational things. As well as have a better view of the kids messages it only lets you view flagged items but not view conversations

Great phone for all

Love to have a phone that I can limit to only calls and texts to prespecified contacts, and no internet capabilities. Highly recommend for all ages.

Canceling service ASAP

Round 2 tonight with Gabb Wireless. Yesterday I found out unapproved contacts were able to call and text my child (including pictures and voice notes). Tonight he can't call his approved contacts. I spent an hour on the phone with customer service and they were not able to resolve it. Imagine doing all the research to buy a "kid safe phone" for your child and you find strangers sending him texts with vulgar language. Their security measures failed. You have one app for phone info (location & battery life), one app for parental controls (approved contacts that are apparently worthless), the online account for billing, and the phones Gabb ID on top of all that as a device log in. Its insane! Their app store is a joke - I paid extra for the full app store, but its banking apps, investment apps, uber eats, and other stuff no kid would ever use. I'm not fully convinced that the Gabb developers have ever met a child. Their music store is just as bad - their "clean, kid friendly" songs are knock-offs of real songs. Brooks wanted to listen to Eye of the Tiger and it was a marching band. My advice? Don't even BREATHE near the Gabb Wireless website; go to StraightTalk for a $30 Galaxy phone and pay $35/mo for service. Gabb, I want answers and I want to cancel my service with no penalty. Pretty sure that's the least you can do considering your massive failure.

Good and Terrible

This is the 5th or 6th Gabb phone I have bought for my children and they are great for the concept and keep me kids very safe but they are so unreliable and have so many problems. The set up alone is one of the most infuriating things I’ve done. This most recent phone only turns on after pressing the on button multiple times and then it takes it a while to start responding to any thing you do. It also refuses to show the battery level. I am frustrated with how the Gabb phones function but it is still a great phone to give my teens…

The Gabb phone 4 has been great thus far. My child loves it! I love that they love it! I have the peace of mind that they're protected from social media and random Internet browsers or mindless YouTube videos/shorts. They love the Gabb Music app and use it constantly for study music, music to fall asleep to, etc... the selection is vast and I love that the library of music is already clean :D

Update: my child forgot the pattern code to unlock the phone (and was too embarrassed to tell me for like a whole month {*~*}) and since it restarted after dying, we couldn't use our registered fingerprints to unlock it. I went to the Gabb support website and tried the bot chat but our problem was a bit beyond the capacities of it, so I waited until their reasonable office hours to chat with a support team member. They were very courteous and patient with me (I'm technologically handicap xD) and after what seemed like an eternity (because I couldn't figure out the button combinations, nothing to do with the very helpful team member whose name was Justice, I believe), I was able to factory reset it and get back in to the phone. 5 out of 5 stars for customer support.

Cheap Phone, DO NOT BUY

The top glass is already lifting and coming off. Phone has not been damaged. While typing the glass felt loose and I realized the glass was coming off. Battery never stays charged. I have had other Gabb phones and they were fine. This phone is trash!

How safe it is!

It came quickly! I love how it is great phone for when you’re ready to let your child have one! It gives them freedom but safely!

Useless

This phone worked for a few hours day, then completely died. Our son never used it. I kept trying to fix using the online support. I finally called when I had the time during the work day but it was outside of the 15-day warranty. Talking to someone was a waste of time as she had me turn the phone off and on over the course of 30 minutes. Even after it was clear that wouldn’t work , she just told me to hold the power button longer and then to tap it multiple times. A complete joke. To make matters worse, I’m quite sure I’d signed up for a month-to-month service. However when I decided to cancel the service, I was informed I was on a yearly contract and was required to pay a $75 early termination fee. This was several hundred dollars down the drain. Then my “confirmation” notice does not confirm much- it gives 2 scenarios. See photo. So I guess I have to wait for the next bill to see if my cancellation is final?

My daughter loves it!

I purchased the Gabb phone for my 8yo because she is a bus rider at school. She was so excited when she received the phone for Christmas. She loves music and dancing so the music app is one of her favorite apps. She discovers nee songs and songs she is familiar with and we have dance parties. I am very satisfied with the phone so far and it was easy to set up.

First phone for our tween!

Safe phone I can trust to give my child!

We have been looking for a phone that we can contact with our daughter when she goes to her friend's house. We searched and found this Gabb phone which does not have an Internet browser and social media. It is safe device that gives us piece of mind and enjoy connecting with her on the phone! I love the weather app and it takes decent quality photo which is my daughter's favorite feature of this phone. Overall we are super happy about this phone!

Parents dream phone!!

I absolutely love the Gabb phone! It is perfect for my 12 year old son. As a parent, I worry about the usual issues, and overly worry about the consequences of long term social media usage. The Gabb phone provides a safe area for children to have access to a phone in a controlled environment providing parents with some security. It has kid friendly apps like Gabb music which is my son’s favorite without access to internet or social media. The camera quality is excellent allowing your child to explore photography! Our family loves Gabb and I wouldn’t want it any other way!!

Pretty Impressive!

We have been using the Gabb Phone 4 and my niece loves it already! It took a few mins to insert the battery and get it setup. I wish they had kid friendly instructions. Once we got it going, it is like any other android phone but customized for kids! The included apps are very well catered to learning of children and keeping them safe! Highly recommend!

The peace of mine parents need! Perfect Phone for my kid.

We are so happy we found Gabb! We have 4 kids and we want to ensure a safe experience with phones. This is the perfect step for our 11 year old. We love staying connected to him while he's at school, his friends house or participating in other activities. It brings us peace of mind knowing we can locate him or get ahold of him when we need to.

Our son loves listening to Gabb Music and even playing an occasional game here and there. He feels like such a big kid taking his phone with him.

Good basic smartphone phone for younger kids. Truely locked down. Built to a price. Good value. Includes charger cables and earbuds.

Peace of Mind

I bought this phone for my granddaughter who is turning 12 soon. What a great way to allow her a piece of tech desired by so many her age, but with the peace of mind ( for her parents) that comes with no internet or social media access, and GPS tracking on a paired device.

The phone comes with a battery you pop in yourself, usbc charging cable, and ear buds. Call, text, take selfies! What more could a 12-yr-old want?

Set up was super simple and took very little time. Plan rates are affordable and have options to fit different needs. I opted to include Gabb Music, a worry-free option that gives kids a lot of choices.
