Ive taken a photo of the complete contents of this Garrett Ace 300. No batteries, no earphones, and cannot connect the upper and lower arms. I tried everything for 30 minutes just to follow 3 steps to assemble. It was previously sold and returned by another and then resold to me.

the metal detector arrived in a worn box, and i knew that I wouldn't like what I was about to see. But when I opened it --- inside was the filthiest, most heavily used and worn piece of equipment I have ever had the misfortune to purchase. The wear, and the sunlight degradation of the foam on the handle, looks like it has been used for a couple of years.
Also some parts were missing, such as the headphones and coil protector.

Detector is lighter than my other one. Tried it out in my yard. It was finding targets 6-8 in depth. Found some small items that were lost over the years. I found it easy to assemble and use. Made in USA. I would recommend this detector and would buy it again.

We were able to use the other evening. We were at a resort and decided to check around the cabanas. It really started getting dark and was ready to stop. The detector went off and we found a penny!! Yay!! We live in MD and it has been so hot. Can't wait for it to cool down so we can go detect at so many more places. We are near Sharpsburg MD (home of the Antietam Battlefield) and can't wait until the temperature lowers!!!
Works great. Can be adjusted for arm length. Also watched several videos on you tube to better learn how the settings can be used correctly for the areas we will be detecting. 😁

Bought this several months ago and just trying to put it together now, I followed instructions and the upper control portion is stuck in the sleeve, and i mean stuck. It will not turn whatsoever even after putting two pipe wrenches to it. The bottom part when on smoothly with zero issues but the top portion will not move in any direction at all.
Sent emails to garrett and they told me to watch a video.. lol really!
I would give this negative stars if possible

Haven't had a chance to try it yet, because it's been dumping rain, but I tested it and it's spot on. I can't wait to go hiking and try it. And also to find my sister's lost ear ring for her.

Bought this for my son and tested it in my yard in a 1/2 hour I found 5 wheat pennies a buckle a snap and some rubbish I am really impressed with this detector some of the coins were 6+ inches in the ground

I upgraded to the Garret 300 and found the transition to be smooth. Pulls a little downward on the wrist but other than that it’s balanced and lightweight. Nice led display with numerical reference for the target. Volume is loud and is not able to be adjusted. Only way to adjust volume is when using the wired headphones that came with the detector. Until you “learn” the tones and numbers being displayed dig everything. You’ll find more trash than treasure, that’s not the detector’s fault. There are several modes for distinguishing types of targets you’re looking for. The unit is easy to operate, turn it in and go ! Great for beginners and experienced users without investing large amounts of money. Batteries come with it and after 18-20 hours the indicator is still reading “full”
You won’t be disappointed in this detector. It’s easy to assemble and with moderate practice you’ll be retrieving treasure in no time. The picture is what i retrieved from a beach club in about three hours. Have fun and enjoy !!

The Garrett 300 works great just not in the wet sand. We used it on the beach for the 1st time and it was great in the dry and damp sand but did not work in the wet sand down by the water. Over all, we love it.

I have wanted a metal detector since I was a little kid and so when I purchased this one I was concerned that it would be a little overwhelming to start but I plugged in the batteries went into my freshly till garden area and started digging holes. Found some interesting items. The pics are from my last outing at the lake down the road from my home. Nothing spectacular some might say but I am having a blast.

Great product and wonderful for the money! Definitely recommend it! The only problem I have had with it was after 6 weeks of use my disc screw holes broke off, and I had to get a new disc. I went ahead and purchased the search disc for the “Garrett ace 400”, it Feels a lot more sturdy, and works like a charm!

This is my first metal detector, so I'm still learning how to interpret what it's telling me, but so far I love it.
I found multiple targets in the front yard of my 1903-vintage house, most of which turned out to be trash. I took it over to a pea gravel-covered playground yesterday and recovered a Hot Wheels Mustang, 14 cents in change, a nail and some other trash in the space of an hour.
I'm looking forward to a fun spring, summer and autumn with this machine with great excitement.

After researching intermediate detectors I choose Garrett 300. Could not be more happy with this choice! There is a little bit of a learning curve but as is for all detectors. First time out around my house found penny and some other change.
Accurate display as tested with a coin test garden. I have recommended to friends and family after they asked about pictures of old coins I was posting.
Paid for itself when I found my uncles gold wedding band he lost three years ago while cutting the grass with in an hour of searching the yard!! (Ring in picture)

We have used our new Garrett 4 times with no problem. Out of the blue on the 5th outing the coil seems to be malfunctioning. I'm quite upset as my wife and I do not have a lot of money and we chose Garret to invest this money into. We are devastated. As you can see from the images it's practically brand new.

have used this metal detector on the beach, in the woods and on my yard. I’ve found a lot of stuff ranging from junk to coins. My 8 year old had the biggest find so far...a small bag of coins and a $20 bill right in our garden! No idea how it got there but I’m not complaining.

Excited when I received this unit almost 2 weeks before expected delivery. I live on an Island and within a few hours of receiving it and after 'familiarization' I hit the beach.. Quickly being acquainted with pull tabs and bottle caps, but in my first two hours of detecting on the beach in the shore break a few inches down was my first 18k GOLD ring with a 0.06ct. Diamond! ... I was hooked! Since then it has been coins, tabs, cans, toys, trash,and a few ear rings... I still love it. But I am also upgrading soon..
