easy to use and charge. sounds good

the GU1- GMRS Two-Way Radio - Long Range Walkie Talkie for Adults 60 Channel with 121 Privacy Codes works great right out of the box, but you will need to attach the belt clips using the included screw driver. the charge bases are USB-C so this should allow you to charge the radios from almost any power source. If for any reason you do not have the charge base, the radio has a usb-c charging port on the side.

Very good alternative to Cobra

After a week of use, I’m pretty pleased with these Gaswei radios. Full disclosure, I only purchased a two pack, so I don’t know how easy it is to add additional handsets to the channel group. But I have to say for the cost, which is very reasonable, you get a lot of features. The radios are early, robust and rugged with a heavy duty ABS plastic body, and molded hand grips. The belt clip and rear panel are attached with very tiny little Allen screws. This is not ideal for changing a battery in the wild though. As you would expect it has the push to talk button on both sides, which is nice for left-handed people. One benefit I really love is the USB-C port which allows both connection of a charging device as well as an external headset or earphones. Front button, layout, and controls mimic those on cobra radios and use many of the same button combinations. The screen is large, but back in orange, which is not as ideal as the cool blue lighting. Connectivity seemed very good: it was tested between two traveling cars while I’m pulling a trailer and one spotting. Radios lasted for more than four hours without issue or significant battery drain. Talk quality seems fine. Each radio also includes an FM receiver, which is a nice feature for camping or hiking. Additionally, an LED light is included on the top next to the aerial. Again, handy for camping and hiking, but a huge battery drain. My only complaint is they actually feel kind of light. You would expect a radio to feel a little bit heavier in your hand and wow, this isn’t the problem, it does make me wonder overall about the energy density of the batteries. In general, for the price I’m pretty pleased with these and I expect to use them all season long.

A lot to learn

So there are a ton of features with these radios. I haven't learned everything yet. I am super pleased with the quality of the radios themselves. This being a two-pack is an incredible deal. The buttons and on-switch are very smooth. Chargers are small and don't take up too much space. The battery life on these is phenomenal. My kids went from one end of our road to the other and they are clear as a bell. We also drove about 3-4 miles before these started getting static and cut out signal to each other. I know they could go further without interference of trees/buildings. I am very impressed with all of the features for the price. Highly recommend!

Walkies and More

Very impressed. The FM and NOAA quality is good, especially when in the time of need. Two charging bases are included with USB power cord and USB charger. The radios can be charged using a standard USB C connector without using the charging base. A SOS light which also can be used as a standard flash light to illuminate the area. The belt clip had to be attached using the included allen key tool which was cumbersome, but it does feel firm. These also work with existing FRS/GMRS radios that are already in use.
