My experience with this remote: It was extremely easy and quick to program for my LG TV. Of course I was quite apprehensive in choosing a "universal" remote. No one likes their patience tested with trying to get an electronic device to work correctly/work at all. Thankfully this one was as straight forward and simple as it possibly could be.
I followed the directions exactly as they stated to, which was just a few pushing of a couple buttons, entering the four digit code on the list for my TV brand. And I pushed the remote's power button and my TV immediately came on. Further, all of the functions on the remote so far work perfectly fine with my TV.
The LG remote that came with the TV is horrific on every level. This replacement remote entirely reinvents the TV experience. I no longer how to be subjected to the LG remote's horrendous mouse style pointer. And now I get an actual mute button.
A fantastic feature for real-life use is the fact all of the buttons become backlit upon pressing any button, illuminating the remote for easy use in the dark. This backlighting stays on for a couple of seconds, allowing you to see what you're doing while not staying on overly long as to avoid wearing out the battery unnecessarily.
The other nice feature is the USB-C charging port that it has, so you're no longer going through disposable batteries. The charging cord is also included, in addition to the directions and comprehensive code list to enter whichever four digit code to set the remote to your TV brand. I can't speak to the remote's longevity as I have just gotten it, though with comparing this GE remote's build quality to my LG remote, the GE one is clearly superior.

Oh how excited I was...
Straight out of the box and two separate remotes do not have an operational Disney+ hot key. Even with that shortcoming we LOVED the remote and the functions. We especially loved that each press of every button provided back-lit illumination. There were some functions/buttons missing like a RECORD OR COLORFUL A B C D that Directv satellite service utilizes. Our television is a Samsung smart model. We just opted to go around the menu the long way.
We loved the responcivity and overall anesthetic. So, why the low rating? The first month in, the battery needed to be charged every 4 days. It was tolerable. Today, the remote will not speak to the already programmed devices. We returned programmed repeatedly and charged. Even tried different codes. NOTHING! This was purchased in November 2025. It is January 2026 and it is a dead weight. Will attempt to contact Jasco in the morning for their so called 'limited lifetime warranty'. Product is a brick. What a shame because it would have been 5 stars even with some shortcomings. It acts as if it doesnt have any device codes registered. As you can see from the video, it just blinks quickly.

Honest review here. This thing looks awesome and works perfectly. Works with all brands and most importantly for me, the buttons feel a bit more clicky while still being tight and soft.
We had a Sony replacement controller and it was absolutely terrible. Nothing worked right. Got fed up and tried this one. Setup is a SLIGHT hassle but totally fine.
Button layout is perfect and it’s light as air because it doesn’t take batteries. It used a lithium internal battery that is rechargeable and lasts like 3 months on one charge. Thing rocks.

Works On My Fire TV
Using the auto search setup feature it found the code and connected the remote to the Fire TV. It took 3 or 4 search cycles to do that. While it does not work identically, it still allows me to control the TV should I lose or break the Fire TV remote, that is, until I get a replacement. Since I am addicted to watching videos for information and entertainment, I wanted a backup, and the GE Rechargeable TV Remote Control does the job.

Slim but issues with Apple tv
Very slim remote likely due to not having to use actual batteries, but it being rechargeable. Came with enough juice to start set up, but I did have to charge it for a few hours to get it to fully charge with a green light. I did find an issue with Apple TV, the remote would not control it. My Apple TV is 4K version. The instructions did have a special section for Apple TV but it didn’t work for me. The tactile feel in the hand is great. I would definitely recommend if you have a Samsung TV.

Rechargeable version of backlit universal remote
We have a few 4-device GE brand universal remotes - both regular and backlit - so I decided to give this one a try. My hope is that that the lack of battery bulge and the battery door will improve longevity. It is definitely more convenient to hold than the ones with AA or AAA batteries - the remote is slim and well balanced in hand.
Out of the box it worked with a Samsung TV. Changing the codes to support other brands and equipment was trivial. Unlike remotes with batteries, you don’t need to worry about losing the configuration by taking too long to replace batteries. Support for AppleTV is somewhat limited, but that is more of an Apple device limitation, and basic controls function just fine.
