great product, confusing instructions

The GE Outdoor HD Digital TV Antenna Long Range OTA HDTV Antenna Yagi Style Design does the job for me, I was a skeptic and before I ran coax wires I wanted to make sure this device worked. I tossed it up in the attic, crudely aimed it west, ran some loose coax to a spare tv in my garage and ran a channel scan. It picked up 42 channels so I was sold. Next I ordered a SiliconDust HDHomeRun Flex Duo 2 to go with my Plex server on unRAID allowing me to watch and DVR programs using Plex (with a plexpass) and everything worked right out of the gate, no amplifier needed (your results may vary). Next, I ran coax to tie into old CATV coax for the easist install job. I recently ditched the evil empire Xfinity for a local fiber internet company but I've wanted local channels and I'm not paying for YTTV or cable anymore. It's ALL a ripoff. I can beam OTA channels to any device I have, iPhone, iPad, Android, PC, MAC, whatever, anytime, anywhere there's 5G signal. As you can see from the crappy pictures I installed the J Tube upside down, that's just how it had to be, otherwise the antenna would be in a a high traffic area in the attic and I couldn't have that. Sometimes you have to improvise, adapt, overcome. I still have small adjustments up or down and over the coming months I'm sure I'll have to fine tune my setup. That's how it is now a days. Initially I aimed the antenna to the west and I picked up some channels but not the numbers I had before. I nudged it slightly northwest and I have almost every channel that's offered in my area aiming northwesterly. One channel I still cant pick up in the scan is PBS but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Product seems durable for attic install, outside in harsh windy weather with birds and squirrels not so much.

GE Outdoor HD Digital TV Antenna, Yagi Style Design

Easy to put together and with the mounting hardware had no problems mounting it. Picked up all the channels I had hoped for and I’m totally happy with the reception I’m now getting. Just make sure you’re pointing it in the right direction!

Great antenna and a decent price

Finally getting rid of cable since we realized we really didn't watch anything on cable. We record a few shows off network TV and we watch streaming services like HBO Max, Netflix and Hulu. So, we got a Google TV box, an HDHomeRun tuner box, and this antenna (total cost for all was about $100). The bonus for me is I used to have satellite a long time ago, and the cables were all still in place, so I could easily mount this antenna where the satellite dish used to be, use the same cables, and all is working great. Also using the Channels DVR app for $8 a month (for the guide information basically), I am able to save more than $100 a month by ditching cable. I did have a little powered indoor antenna which worked great on the TV itself, but not so great with the HDHomeRun box; but this outdoor antenna fixes that easily. This takes about 15 minutes to assemble, and then whatever time it takes you to mount in the location you need it on your house. Mine is only about 10 feet off the ground, but a fairly decent line of site to the transmitter antennas about 25 miles away and all channels come in great without pixelation or "low signal" messages.

Much better than flat antennas

I had a flat indoor antenna but picture started pixelating so decided to go with outdoor. Mounted it to my old satellite dish—screwed it into the mast and reused the grounded coax cable. I live in in Portland metro so pointed it at all the satellites which are in the hills by downtown. Picture was much better and channels went from 45 to 75. Good investment.

3 most important considerations: Height, height & height.

Tested this in my bedroom pointing toward the broadcast towers about 40 miles away. Got all the UHF channels I wanted using an added Wineguard low-noise preamp : CBS, ABC, FOX, PBS, but NBC is a VHF station that was too weak to work. After installing it in my attic on a painter's telescoping pole, NBC came in strong. See the picture for how it was mounted. Height is the most important consideration.

Cut the cord.

I cut the cord and saved $130 a month. This antenna works great. It pulls in all local stations from towers 35 miles away. Easy to assemble and install. Highly recommend.

Perfect Antenna

This thing even worked great in the living room after I put it together. We used existing cable to put it outside and it worked just as well installed outside. We then hooked it up to a splitter to add the rear of the house bedroom TV's existing TV cable and it works amazing for them too. I was worried we would have some signal degradation but we do not. We get over 180 channels now and they are all very clear.

Fantastic, solved all my antenna problems.

This would be the fourth antenna I tried after having no luck with 3 different indoor antenna's advertising 40-60 mile range. As soon as I assembled it, I did a test run indoors on my hdhr connect Duo and got 43 channels vs 31 on my old indoor antenna! Previous home owners had dish Network so I used the wiring, ground, and wallplate from the dish that was on my roof and mounted the antenna in the same spot, used an app to tune it an I now can get 47 stations, all clear, no amplifier! Stop wasting time with indoor antenna's, they are all garbage, This thing even works great indoors!

Bye, Bye Cable Bill! Hello 34 channels 👌

Bye-bye Bombast cable!! This antenna & a smart phone is all that's needed for me for tv & I-net. Great reception & HDTv, too. Some slight digital distortion on only a few channels, but very good once signal settles in. Installed this unit in the attic (ran a 16 foot co-ax cable down through wall to living room) at house in Western Montgomery county, PA. Pulled in 45 channels from Philadelphia & some from Allentown... chnl 3 through chnl 69-4, and have 34 after eliminating channels that hold no interest for me. I may try a booster to possibly draw in additional channels. Going to adjust direction to

optimize reception. A remotely adjustable mount would be nice but not necessary. Worth $50 to me, and a steal at a lesser price. Almost done patching wall, too. Really, who insulated this interior wall??!! LOL 😹

Finaly a antenna that works. 10 star not 5

Wow. Just got it couple hours ago. 40 years fighting antenna. Inside on table near window. First scan 40 channels with 38 good and clear no flickering. Rescaned got 38 channels 36 good after a slight moving. Bought 3 of those flat things. Waste of money. Paid same for those 3 as I did this one. I am so happy

I am not going to put it outside. No need to. Attached pic of it inside plus some of it being put together. I don't know who gave it a one star. It's not. I am picking up 40 miles away Toledo then Lansing mi. Detroit 30 miles. Was going to pay professional installers. Probably in the hundreds. Antenna $37.00. 25 feet new coax cable 25 feet. $10.00 . Buy this u will not regret it

4 hours later. I can't believe how its picking up stations. In the north side of my house in the living room. Approx 8 feet off the ground. Just wonder if it was on the old outside antenna mount 28 ft in the air. 76 now so can't climb any more so it will have to stay inside the living room. Finally a clear picture pitcher with no flickers on over 36 channels.

Update it is really directional. Been experimenting move it around got as low as 13 to 15. Made a new post for mount out of 1 inch conduit 36 tall. Got as high as 53 channels. Most junk stations. But I need 2 in my Det area for lions football. Made base out wood. 5 X 8 so can turn it on top my small desk. I some times scan 2 times. If you use it in attic or out door s. Be sure to use a roto antenna thing. If I had this on my outside mast there is no doubt it would pick up much better. I can't climb any more so it will be in my living room picking up avg of 43 to 44 channels.
