Big and loud, lacks bass depth but does have punch
This Gemini PA speaker sounds like...well a PA speaker. It lacks any kind of nuance or subtlety completely. And that's fine. It's meant to get big and loud and to that end it certainly does.
It seems well made, build quality feels substantial. The handles on the side, the wheels and telescoping handle all feel well made.
The biggest downside to the speaker is any sort of low level listening is pretty much impossible. There is some type of limiter that keeps the speakers ambient "hiss" under control when music is not playing. But when music is playing that hiss and ambient noise is so loud. Also the bluetooth transmitter is picking up feedback from radio stations it sounds like. During quieter portions of music I could almost make out a radio talk show like sound in with the loud hiss and ambient distortions. So forget about listening to this for low level listening.
There are 5 EQ presets along with individual EQ buttons for Lows, mids, and highs. I couldn't do much with trying to get it to sound good. Pretty much cranking the treble and bass all the way up gets it about as good as it will get. Tinkering with the midrange quickly tips it over to absurd. I couldn't even test max sound volume levels. It's simply too loud.
There's not much deep bass which makes sense. PA speakers usually have woofers, not subwoofers. That's the case here with the 15" woofer.
The lighting is nothing special. The Pyle speaker has unbelievable lighting, especially the top disco ball thing that is so bright and reflects off your ceiling or whatever is above you. It's pretty crazy. But it can't get near as loud and has way less bass presence.
There are mic and guitar inputs with their own level and echo knobs.
If you need a big PA style speaker, need it to get loud, look pretty cool and seems built to take some abuse this speaker could be for you. If you want nuance, good sound quality, low level listening or deep bass, you should look elsewhere.
