I bought this Glide Gear as I was looking for a better way to have scripts to read when recording videos. I used to write them out in Word and save as a PDF and have it auto-scroll. But this left large gaps of time while I waited for it to scroll to the next page when I reached the bottom of one. I have now used the Glide Gear for a few months (I batch my recordings to do once a month), and I like the ease of use. I e-mail myself the script and open it on my iPad, then copy it into the teleprompter software I use. I place the iPad on the holder which makes it easy to read the text. The only thing I don't like is that it is a bit hard for me to get my cell phone on the holder and in place (could be user error). If I have the holder further back on the track where I can easily attach the phone, when I move it up to be covered by the hood, it's hard to get my hand in to tighten the screw.to keep it from moving So I leave that in place and then put my phone in when the slide it all the way to the front of the hood. I may buy a better camera soon and then this may not be as much of an issue.

These are extremely nit picky and aren’t really a big deal and may not even apply to you but…
I wish the gap between the top and bottom level under the camera was slightly larger, just so I could mount other gear there. It’s about 2cm to small to fit my audio recorder.
The hood that attaches to your camera lens to stop light bleeding in is a great, but I wish the cinching mechanism was different because it’s kinda cumbersome on the lens
I wish the glass came with a velvet bag or something for when I store it. It came with styrofoam protectors to prevent scratching though

I got this for my YouTube channel (MusicWithMarky - plug plug!) and was hoping it would save time on production. It is such a plus to be able to read direct from my scripts instead of doing 5 takes of each paragraph I got wrong along the way! =]
The materials are sturdy and not at all cheapo. One thing they don't give you any direction on in the package is what app to use this with. Fortunately, I got the remote control with it too (RemotePAD) and that had a link to a free piece of software that runs on an iPad or Android. I put it on my Galaxy Pad and I'm 100% pleased with it.

I use this Teleprompter when creating instructional videos. It’s definitely a solid product and it uses metal. The only drawback I have is that it is front heavy and it will require a sturdy tripod.

Love this teleprompter. It works great so far. I do wish it came with a tripod but still great! I have been creating content on YouTube for over 12 years in a variety of channels. My longest running active channel has been going since 2012 and I needed to up my content a notch. Having an actual teleprompter is a game changer!

Previously bought a 'consumer grade' product (Desview T3 - all plastic materials) which did not have the ring adapter to fit my Sony A6400, and looked like the camera would fall off it anyway! The Glide Gear TMP100 in comparison is an Excellent, robust piece of Kit! (Still trying to work out how to attach a light with the bits provided, and I'm sure the guys at Glide Gear will help me out!) LOVE it!

I purchased this teleprompter for personal, church and business use. It is very well constructed and sturdy, will all metal parts. The carrying bag is great as well for transporting to the various locations I will be using it. Of note, there are holes on each side of the frame where you could mount a microphone or a LED light. I would highly recommend this as a solid choice that will last you for years.

Teleprompter works okay but is not as pictured. The actual teleprompter has a sagging cloth that snakes over your camera like a loose condom. It is NOT the erect triangular-shaped cover depicted in photo of the product (with yellow logo on side). Look at every customer picture and you'll see what I mean; the actual product just has a sagging black cloth.
The problem is that the sagging cloth condom thing sags into the field of view of the lens. It's bad! I have to crop all my footage because the teleprompter cloth sags into view. And even after cropping there's bad vignetting.

I have tried a few teleprompters in the past and have been looking for one that would accommodate my iPhone.
I find the glide gear TMP 100 to be very well built and designed and is the best Teleprompter that I have used.
The TMP 100 will accommodate cameras or cell phones the different sizes. It's very easy to set up and use, and I plan on purchasing a second one for my home.

I know this is bad photo for the Glide Gear TMP100. but trust me it is on the front of that camera.
We used it for three days in a row and could not have been happier. The size is great if you can get right in front of your talent like we did. It's not so small that you have to have it in their face to read it but it is not too big that you can see them "eye tracking" as they read the script.
The case is fine.
Again, for short to moderate distances from the talent (depending on how well they can see it) this little guy really works with no imaging issues at all.
...and remember the golden rule, "The best way to keep glass clean....never get it dirty"!

Purchased this product to use in a music studio, to display the song's lyrics to singers. When used with the recommended Teleprompter app, PromptSmartPro paid version, which includes the Remote-Control app. it worked perfectly. As additional equipment, I am using a Sony Camcorder and the I-Pad Pro 9.7 inch and
Finally, had no problem in assembling the unit on my Magnum VT300 tripod. If you are looking to a well price performance Teleprompter, the TMP100 will not disappoint you.

I have set mine up to mirror a monitor using Sidecar on the Mac. I have mounted it onto a cheap modular shelf (and added wheels) to make it easy to adjust when needed. This is a game changer in Zoom meetings where I can now spin my chair around and look people in the eye. The product does what it is meant to do and it seems well built except for having some zippers that are a bit wonky. I think if I was going to be moving it around a lot I might be bothered by the zippers but given that in my use-case it is going to live in one place I am happy.

This Glide Gear teleprompter works exactly as described. Good craftsmanship; no plastic parts (though the two zippers on the hood are a bit of a pain). We paired this with a Panasonic UX180 and used an iPad running Teleprompter Pro. Text is very readable and the glass that's part of the Glide Gear unit does not diminish the image quality at all. Highly recommend.

The product arrived on time and was packed well. I like the zippered carry pouch that holds everything safe inside. I like that the frame is metal, and that the shroud is heavy cloth. It was a little tough to get the shroud in place, but once done, it fits snug and stays put. It's even sturdy enough to hold my monitor, which is great. The 70/30 beamsplitter glass works well without shadowing the text. It holds my 10" tablet very well. I was worried about the cheese plate not being long enough to support my Sony FS100, and it is close, but it does work. This leads to probably my only suggestion to the manufacturer: Make the plate a little longer! (Not everyone is using a DSLR)
So far, I have only used this rig in my studio, so I don't have much to say about breakdown and setup. Overall, this is a great inexpensive solution to the age-old need for a good teleprompter that works well but doesn't break the bank. I have used the big ones, even built my own, but this little rig does the job well and gets my vote.

I have some experience with a variety of other teleprompters. This one is made extremely well and certainly has design elements that are superior to the other brands. If you're looking for a portable teleprompter, this is the one for you.
Pros:
1. Glass is fantastic material. Truly better glass than most out there and great reflectivity.
2. The design overall is stylish and flattering. The cloth cover/shield is rigid and aesthetic, unlike other cheap teleprompters.
Cons:
*I'm rather critical in all of my reviews, so these are less cons than user experience feedback
1. The extra screws on the left and right of the aluminum are designed to attach accessories such as mics and lights. Keep in mind that they are very easily loosened because it is a single 1/4" knob that screws into your ball head joint or whatever you're using to attach the other devices. What this means is that every time I tried to adjust the microphone, the screw would slip and I would need to retighten. I tried holding up my small 5.5" feelworld monitor on the side: it worked with a few diy solutions, but whenever i tried putting the npf battery in, the screw would easily come undone and then it was difficult to install.
2. The design is best suited for an iPad; anything thicker than an iPad would work, but need other reinforcements to get it tight. I use a Feelworld 7 inch monitor with this. It works great, but the edges of the field monitor is too thick to be held by the teleprompter's clamps. As a compromise, I put a piece of foam on one edge to add some extra resistance so the clamps could clamp the edge tightly. When you have HDMI cords and power adapters connected to the monitor, you definitely don't want it to fall so this was my workaround.
3. Cost. I still feel that for a piece of aluminum... some cloth and velcro, and a two-way mirror... I'm not sure why teleprompters even at the budget range are as expensive as they are. Even so, to me, it's well worth the extra $50 for this one when comparing it to other budget teleprompters. And certainly, why even spend money on the $1,000 teleprompters when this works just as well?
Conclusion: Don't even look at the other budget teleprompters. This has all the design specifications and features and is extremely quality.

I LOVE my TMP 100 Teleprompter! Perfect for multiple applications. I am currently using my TMP 100 with an 8" field monitor to create a secondary display for Zoom meetings. Now I am able to look at my DSLR lens and my coworkers during our zoom meetings at the same time! When I'm training my team, I use an iPad Pro, a teleprompter app and the TMP 100 as a teleprompter to teach my material. Best money I have spent all year. Thanks Glide Gear!

This teleprompter is a BOSS! I could not have been happier with what I have in this unit. I needed a teleprompter and first ordered what I thought would work for a tablet/phone. I received something that would only work with a phone and it was disappointing even for that. I did some more searching and found this one. It seemed to be a little pricey for what I wanted to do but decided to take a chance. I'm extra glad that I did. It's sturdy, easy to set up, and to make any necessary adjustments. great piece of equipment and I expect to be using this for a LONG time.

The Glide Gear TMP100 Adjustable iPad/ Tablet/ Smartphone Teleprompter Beam Splitter is a great tool. Right out of the box I was able to assemble it in less than 15 minutes. The construction is very sturdy. For the money, it is solidly built. It is the best I've used for my iPad Pro. This is a great tool to make your projects look more professional.

I am starting a series of online technical training courses and needed to set up my recording infrastructure at a really affordable cost. I already had a Cannon Vixia HFR800 camcorder, Apple Mac with Keynote, and a camera tripod. So just needed an affordable and high quality teleprompter. After reading reviews and watching a few YouTube videos on how to create video podcasts there was pretty much consensus that short of spending thousands of dollars on professional studio grade teleprompter the Glide Gear TMP100 would fit my needs. Well it did. It comes with a really nice and well padded carry case about the size of a stadium cushion. The unit is folded compactly when it arrives and really in not more than 10 minutes I was able to get it set up. You do have to fiddle with the blackout canvas to fit securely over the camera but no big deal. It works well for my needs using an already owned 10 inch iPad for the software app. I'm still fiddling with different teleprompter apps so not yet settled on anyone in particular. For my purposes and an for extremely low budget I effectively have a compact and portable video studio with my Cannon, Mac and now Glide Gear TMP100. I hope it works for you too.

Being a big DIY kind of guy with a long mechanical background, I was going to build my own...but then I found Glide Gear. For the price, this one had everything I wanted...without me getting out all the power tools. Literally pulled it out, and set it up quicker than I could download a teleprompter app! Simple setup and I love the pads that keep it in it's own little carrying bag...that is a nice addition. Of course, you must fiddle with the app quite a bit, and practice it several times before you get it right...but at least, you don't have to memorize long scripts!!!
The only thing I didn't like is that I had to remove my double-battery base from the bottom of my Canon 60D camera to get it at the proper height...but that is an easy fix!
It is going to be a great addition to my arsenal of video equipment! Can't wait to use it!

I am using this Teleprompter with a Sony A7III, 70-200 lens and an Atomos Ninja V recorder. There is plenty of room for the camera and lens. Pull the camera and lens away from the mirror as it will help counter balance the rig.
I bought Teleprompter Premium program to use with my I pad Pro 11". The I pad has an Otter box Defender case and fits very well. . I don't think a 12" I pad would fit. I control the speed and reset the text to begin again with my I pod touch 7. If you have an I phone you can use it as a controller as well. This is quick, handy and instantly connects.
The mirror takes about 1/3 of a stop away. I was a bit nervous as to how many stops the mirror would take. Glad to say that it does not bring down expose that much. I was afraid of color shifting. I don't know how Glide Gear did it but my recordings on my Atomos Ninja V are as clean as if I was not shooting through a mirror.
I get a lot of compliments on the rig. I can't tell you how many times I come into a job and the actor sees the prompter and is instantly relieved. No more actors wondering eyes, looking away from the lens or stopping delivery as someone is flashing cue cards. It has made my shoots more productive, easy and stress free. Glide Gear made a hit with this product. I highly recommend this Teleprompter.

I received the package and just with the packaging I was impressed.
Box in a box with proper protection.
Then to the carrying case, that was filled with proper padding, there was no way the glass could have broken during freight, which I was concerned. But not to worry.
The unit requires zero assembly, it comes fully assembled and thanks to it, I was up and running in less than 5 minutes.
I was on a deadline to do an internal Corporate video that I wanted to redo it, so my "side of the camera" reading motion would be taken away and thanks to the fast delivery and immediate set-up, I was able to get a revised version done just in time.
I love when products deliver more than expected and this one does the job.
On my ipad, I got the "TeleprompterPremium" app from Joe Allen and I manually control the text scrolling with a bluetooth mouse while using the accessibility touch option on the Ipad settings, and voila!
Best 200$ investment ever.
I strongly suggest you get a sturdy tripod with ball head. Any flimsy tripod adapter that might be plastic will be over-stressed.

This thing literally cuts hours off my acquisition times!! I can get through a 15-minute script in about three tries, compared to it sometimes taking me more than two hours. And if working with a client, it's so much faster, so their costs go down - even though learning to use a teleprompter is a skill all on its own... but still easier to get through than trying to get them to memorize their script in small chunks.
So, I started down the path, looking at home-made teleprompters using picture frames and glass, but sourcing beamsplitter glass locally wasn't as cheap as you'd think, and at the end of the day, you still end up with a jenky setup that you still have to figure out how to mount to your tripod.
The Glid Gear mounts to the tripod without a hitch, has an adapter to mount the camera to the TelePrompter so you end up with a pretty stable setup. I should ding it a star for the hood being a little finicky, and you have to be careful when rotating the glass into position, it can fall onto itself and potentially break the glass, but at this price point, I'm so happy with item that I just can't bring myself to downgrade the rating.

I've used this for a few shoots not and it has saved me many hours over the more janky solutions I have tried and the quality of the end result is sooo much better. Did a shoot last night and we were done in 30 min. Set up and breakdown took 2 hours. If we had been using cards or taped scripts (as I've done in the past) it would have taken longer and looked like rap as the talent's eye's moved off camera. Worth twice the price this is.

Took me 2 minutes to set it up. Sometimes when you read reviews from other people I kind of don't trust them fully but I took a chance with this product and I have to say that it is incredible. I took me but a few moments to set it up. It seems well built and it worked very well. At first the letters where upside down and then backwards but I realized that it was the app that needed some adjustments. I am so excited, I will be able to get a lot more done now ( because I tried to memorize the scripts it took me 20 tries to get it. This time I will be reading and no one will notice) :)

Update: I contacted Glide Gear, and they were kind enough to send a replacement glass which fixed the problem entirely. I'm very grateful and the Teleprompter works great, the image could be a little bit brighter, however the text is very readable and clear.

Everything works except the glass itself, it doubles the image with any screen you put on. The very purpose of this teleprompter is defeated by a poor quality glass that impairs your ability to read. Be warned.
