The battery has stopped charging which is expected at some point. I opened it to see if anything could be done but I don’t think so. However, I don’t use it everyday and I think it’s too short lived. As far as usability, it works well if you are sitting up. I seat in different ways sonit is hard to maneuver.

Great Product, Great Support
My kids had 3 of these since November 2022. The different light levels and colors help to adjust to any reading situation.
At approximately 1.5 years one of them seemed to have a battery issue, and Glocusent Support promptly and kindly replaced it. It was still within the warranty period. Then at just under 4 years a different one had an issue with one of the lights (it was likely because my daughter liked to bend the flexible arms closed every time she was done with it). Glocusent Support very kindly went above and beyond and replaced it OUTSIDE of the warranty window. Again, they were quick and professional in their communication and service to me. I will certainly give them business in the future when I look for another reading light!

The perfect compromise for couples
This neck light has been the perfect solution for our nighttime routine. My wife uses it every single night to read in bed, and the design is fantastic. It is so lightweight and comfortable that it is practically unnoticeable on her neck.
It provides bright, targeted light exactly where she needs it so she can see the pages perfectly, but the light doesn't bleed across the room. Because of that, I have absolutely no problem falling and staying asleep right next to her. The added features like the 30-minute timer are also a nice bonus so it doesn't stay on all night if she dozes off.
If you share a bed with a night-owl reader, this is an absolute must-have.

Very good. Just what I needed
Early evening, I don't like to turn the lights on to crochet because I have parrots. I want them to go to bed when it gets dark.
This was my solution. Extremely bright so I can see my stitches. Comfortable. Easy to adjust. I would buy again.

Bright and useful. Does slide sideways on neck sometimes.
This has worked perfect for my late night reading. I've also used it to see my small crafting and sewing better, as my eyesight isn't what it used to be. The reason for 4 stars is the way it sits on my neck. It does seem to slide sideways if I move at all. Maybe a little more grip on the back of the item would help.

An Exceptional Way to Light Your Space
"Shut off that light," was a constant from my husband. Now that I have the Glocusent light he rests peacefully and I can read till I get sleepy. The light is also wonderful for trips outside in the dark with the dog since it goes around my neck and allows hand freedom. The light is rechargable using an Android phone charger-no more searching for batteries at 2 A.M. It has three levels of light from very bright to comfortable reading, and there is a nifty button in back to change the color of the light. I wouldn't travel without it, many motels only have a light on one side of the bed, so I happily take the dark side. This light would also be perfect for a mechanic since it leaves your hands free, the two lights bend enough to point wherever a light is needed. I plan to buy them for everyone on my Christmas list.

Well made, works well, comfortable, rechargeable
The Glocusent Book Light is better made and works better than I expected. If you want to read at night in bed, in a car, or in a plane without waking someone else, or simply to save on electricity at home, this is the ticket. It's a comfortable wearable light with independently controllable right and left stems. The USB C charging port is on the bottom, center. The color temperature control is on the back. You don't need to be viewing any of the controls to use them. The stems are flexible. You can adjust them to point where you want while reading. I have not tried them while working with tool, but it should word as well as a headlamp in many situations where you need to both hands free. I highly recommend this neck light.

Let there be Light with Glocusent Original Neck Light
With the desire to read and do needlepoint will my husband was watch tv or sleeping, or while traveling, I researched a hands free reading lights. The reviews were hands down in favor of the Glocusent Original Neck Reading Light. GENIUS! Non-invasive to reading or working with my hands. It loosely wraps around the neck with adjustable arms (plus two sizes - Med and Slim Medium and Medium fits an adult large male) so it easy to adjust to individual needs. There are 6 colors so that is just fun.
The light is amazing with 3 brightness intensity options and even 3 color options to give comfort on the eyes. There are NO batteries required because it is quickly charged with the included USB-C cord.
Not used more that to test, so I cannot report on the amount of time it holds a charge.
I will say with much pleasure that I found a fabulous light that will meet me needs and more. I bought the Medium but I am going to buy a second one for travel and will try the Slim-Medium. I wear a size 10-12 mostly med top, so I think the Slim-Medium might fit me best.

Perfect for bed and travel
The little plane light is never enough for me so this was amazing to travel with. I use in bed as well when I want to read without disturbing my husband. My only complaint is the sensitivity of the power button - it turned on every time I bumped my travel bag. Careful packing eliminates the issue.

100% RECOMMEND this neck lamp!
This Glocusent neck reading light is by far the best neck light I've ever had!!
I regularly crochet, read, cross stitch, and write in the darkest hours thanks to insomnia. I really like neck lights for the convenience of my perfect hands-free crafting lighting wherever I go.
This light offers more flexibility than I have ever seen on any others. You can bend these arms in any direction and it keeps the bend very nicely, holding the light position the entire time I work.
There are 3 different light options, and 3 brightness settings for each.
You can switch the options on the small button at the back of your neck.
Each light has a setting button on each arm where you can control the brightness.
It's much lighter on my neck than any other and even has a small built in patch of a velvety material where it makes contact with my neck. This light won't rotate or slide on its own like so many others.
Overall, very durable. I am quite pleased with the value. Did I mention that I can fold it into a sort of pretzel shape and it packs perfectly when I'm on the go?!
Convenient USB cord included for charging.
I haven't used it long enough to attest to it's charge longevity.

Love!
Works great, is comfy and the lights are bright. The only downside I’ve noticed so far is the light does get warm to the touch but that’s to be expected. I also crochet facing towards my face and not down so it takes some learning if you don’t naturally work below the light!

I LOVE this light .
These pictures are in the lowest brightness of the warm light setting and it’s perfect for reading at night . Doesn’t bother my husband at all or the sleeping baby . The light modes and brightness are so easy to adjust. The flexibility and size are great and comfortable. The battery has lasted for quite a while for me so far , i haven’t had to charge it yet . This is a great quality reading light. 100% worth it .

Fitting around your neck
This product does NOT have a “yoga” fit gooseneck as described. The area is very rigid and stiff as it holds the single large battery therefore impossible to bend, flex, or contour around the base of your neck and comfortably rest on top of your shoulders (unless your the size of an NFL football player). It’s a great product until you get up to walk around then it requires some sort of attention by removing it completely or attempting to secure it with the assistance of stuffing it around your clothing. ie; hoodie, collar. I really wanted to keep this product as it wins with quality, design, battery life and longevity, but the heaviest part of this product is the rear of your neck area (battery compartment) and it tends to work its way around towards the front of your neck with every step until it falls completely off. Moving on with the light controls, I find no corners or area is improving needed. I was happy using only one light on it being adjusted to its lowest m. From unboxing, assuming fully charge and using both lights at their brightest settings, it was indeed impressive how such a small tool can deliver big power by illuminating a 20’x20’ room.

Fantastic Reading Light, Comfortable to Wear, Too Easily Turned On
On balance, it is a great product worthy of the many thousands of purchases and positive reviews.
I bought it for reading because I was frustrated that when reading books or papers I find it very hard to have proper task lighting in different locations. This light definitely takes care of that. I am working on research projects that require me to read actual books and I used it immediately for hours. It works great when I am sitting on my a couch, on an office chair or even in bed (sitting up in bed or if you are looking up instead of sideways; I do not think it very practical if you want to lie down). And it works just as well if I am standing at my high desk or just standing by the bookcases looking for a quick reference. That versatility and mobility, combined with consistent lighting for the book I was reading is exactly what I wanted.
Battery life appears to be quite long and I love the brightness directly placed on the page I am reading and how it moves with me as I turn the pages. The three levels of brightness and color alternatives allow you to choose what works best in your environment and for your eyes. (I would heed the manufacturer's warning not to look directly into the light, I have not done it, but I think it a very bad idea).
The unit also works as task lighting when you need your hands to be free and in tight positions.
I read some concern about the center piece not being flexible. I disagree. The wider center means that the unit rests on your shoulder, not on your neck. That makes it a lot more comfortable to wear for extended periods, especially because it does not weigh very much. I actually forgot I was wearing it when I went from reading in a sitting position to working at my computer which is on a standing desk.
My only criticism and concern is that it is too easy to turn it on. The lightest of touches will turn on either light. In fact, I was very surprised that both lights were on at full intensity when I first opened the box, despite the box being sealed and the unit being in its factory plastic packaging. This seems dangerous. I would absolutely not put it in luggage or even carry it in a backpack, which is unfortunate as it would otherwise seem like a great travel gadget.
The manufacturer seems very responsive to feedback. Perhaps using the center button as some sort of lock?

Fabulous 😍
Ok so let me start off by saying that I bought this several years ago and I loved It so much I bought another one last year for my mom who loves it has much as I do.
I have extremely sensitive eyes and I get really bad headaches which a lot are caused by bright lights.
With that being said this powerful little light has 3 different colored lights. A soft yellow (I primarily use this one) a warm white and a bright white. Each of the colors has three different brightness settings. The soft yellow is my fav! It doesn't hurt my eyes no matter how intense I have the brightness set too.
I mainly use mine to read with. I keep it above my bed on my headboard and only use one of the two lights and just that one has more than enough light for me to read with. I've only used it with it on my neck maybe 3 times the whole time I've had it. I mainly read at night after husband and kids go to bed so keeping it on my headboard right above my head works perfectly for me.
The only negative thing I would say about it is bending it and it staying exactly where I put it can be a bit tricky but honestly it's not that big a deal.

A MUST for hurricane/emergency kits!
I've been using this for 7 months while I crochet, and it's been handy! Just recently, our power went off for TWO NIGHTS, and this little neck lamp really helped. We had flashlights and candles, but this one allowed me to cook, walk, use the bathroom, etc. with both hands free. If you're a crocheter or reader, I highly recommend this light, as it will double as an emergency flashlight. The battery life is excellent as well. I'm thinking about getting my husband a black one for future emergency situations, and for when he barbecues at night.

This device greatly improves my readings of my Bible.
Honest review of Glocusent LED Neck Reading Light, Book Light for Reading in Bed, 3 Colors, 6 Brightness Levels, Bendable Arms, Rechargeable, Long Lasting, Perfect for Reading, Knitting, Camping, Repairing @ $19.79 at time of order, now showing on sale for $21.99, from $29.99.
This was ordered to help facilitate the reading of my Bible. The lighting in my home is not set up all that well, plus I am getting older and it’s more difficult to see and see in dimmer lighting. I was using a headlamp and that was obviously not very comfortable for any length of time.
Likes:
These are comfortable, very lightweight, and I can barely detect that I am wearing them.
Although it hasn’t made a big difference to me thus far, these have a sort of padded (felt covered) area that would touch the nape.
There are numerous lighting adjustments, and each arm can be adjusted individually or just using the light of one of the arms. Each arm has its own on/off switch. These have 3 Color & 6 Brightness Adjustments (3 useful color temperature modes: yellow(3000K), warm white(4000K) and cool white(6000K). Each head owns an independent switch for 3 brightness levels dimmable).
The arms are flexible and adjustable for positioning the light(s) as desired.
These are rechargeable LED lights and use a common USB-C plug type.
I can now easily see to read no matter the ambient lighting (photos depict various light settings and 1 photo shows my darkened room with only the TV on across the room about 12 feet away. The photos do not depict the 3 different color temperature settings: only the cool white).
I could read in the dark and not bother anyone else in the room.
Operations of this device are simple and straightforward.
These will be handy for other close up work that I do sometimes.
Dislikes:
None so far.
Meh:
When seated and these are hanging around my neck, I found it slightly difficult to obtain what I felt was the perfect position of these arms. They are flexible, but I found it difficult to put them in just the right angle for me. Having said this, they were adequate for my reading needs.
These are quite portable, but you’re not going to be able to just fold the arms up completely, although they do fold up enough for most packing needs.
Price is up and down like a yoyo.
Hopefully this honest review helps someone decide about this product.

I can’t say enough good things about this
I failed to mention how light weight this is at least I think I did and I did mention about the brightness it is very bright and the battery life it last quite a while before you have to charge it unless you use it for hours at a time but I love this light love love love it. I think you will too. Jada that I watch on videos on U-Tube recommended it! She doesn’t get paid anything to do this, she bought one and just wanted to pass it on to her students!

Won't charge with USB-C charger, only with included cable.
The good part: as a light this device works well. It has three brightness levels and three color levels. All work well.
The bad news: I have migrated to USB-C chargers and bought this device specifically because it was advertised as USB Type-C. However, I tried multiple OEM certified USB-C chargers and USB-C to USB-C cables; when plugged in, none of these would power the device (see video/photos). The device comes with an included cable which appears to be USB-C on one end, but actually plugs into a USB-A charger on the other end. This included cable is the only thing that would successfully charge the device.
If you are choosing this model because it is USB-C, then don't. It will not work with normal USB chargers and cables, and will require you to travel with a USB-A wall charger in order to accommodate the included cable. If you don't mind using a USB-A charger, this device will likely work well for you with the included proprietary cable.
In the end, I tried three of these neck reading lights: Frishare, Glocusent (this one), and Vekkia. Of those three, I'm keeping the Vekkia.
The Frishare one is relatively light weight, the lights work well as advertised, and it comes with a nice hardened case, which is really it's primary benefit. However, the rubber arms are thicker than other models and it is a bit bulkier. Moreover, when you bend the flexible arms I immediately could see the rubber pull off of the battery casing, making the wiring visible (see photo).
As noted above, I tried the Glocusent. It worked well but had two main problems. It is less flexible with a bigger battery pack in the back, and it doesn't work with USB-C chargers (see above).
In the end I settled for the Vekkia neck light. It is light weight with thinner arms than the Frishare. Admittedly all of them are cheap lights, but the Vekkia appears better made at first glance, given that the Frishare had exposed wires. The Vekkia charged fine with my own USB-C to micro-USB cables. The lowest brightness setting on the Vekkia is also lower than the Frishare or Glocusent, meaning you have the option of less light when your spouse is sleeping.

Best Neck Reading Light
This is the 3rd neck reading light (other two are different) I've had. The Glocusent is BY FAR the nicest. First, when you put it around your neck, it's practically weightless. The other two had two double A batteries that sat on the back of my neck. Also, the way the arms lay, they automatically light up what I'm working on (I knit). At first I thought the arms were short & wouldn't be bright enough to reach where I hold my knitting. But that's not the case. The lighting is excellent. I like that the arms are short as one of my other lights has long arms & it's a pain to bend them up to light my knitting where I hold my work. And the others somehow shift as I'm knitting. These don't. I like that they are rechargeable. The adapter is a 'C', just like my Android phone which is handy. It comes with a cord. I use my own plug in adapter. I am so pleasantly surprised by these, I'm going to buy a back up & two more for my knitting friends as gifts. I can't get over the quality of the illumination. I can't comment on the battery life yet as this is the first time I'm using these. I wanted to get a review out right away. You will be happy with these. They look & feel well made. There is a small user manual. It explains the 3 lighting options. It says battery working time is 6-80 hours depending on mode & brightness. My husband likes to watch TV in our theater with no lights on. These are a lifesaver in that I can get knitting done in the dark. This light seems to concentrate the light so as not to be a bother to others nearby. Will test that when I get home & in the theater. Overall. I love this neck light. It's the nicest I've seen.
