Great buy

What an amazing light! Great for outdoors

If you’re new to the camera, get one, then get another later. If you’re not new just get 2 now.

After being out of photography for 15 years, 2 of these is the same as an entire studio.

The pro version does make a few things easier.

The attached photos are after 1 hour charge on battery with 3 test shots and no light meter with TTL set to - 1/3.. Hadn’t used a flash since Obama was elected.

You’ll need a trigger. I recommend a Godox IT32. It will control everything and give you an on camera equalizer.. just like the olden days.

Or even better yet, get the X3.. You will not be disappointed.

Great on-the-go lighting

Phenomenal for professional photography on the fly. I use my godox V100 to connect and fire multiple Ad200s. The battery life lasts awhile, I can use these all through the reception and not have to change the batteries.

Amazing Flash with a nice creatives starter kit

Let me begin by saying that my reference point is that I've been using the Godox AD200 for about 4 years now, so this a big upgrade for Me going to the Pro model and Version II. Also, most of what i like to shoot is creative athlete hype photos so I like to use color, props, smoke, etc. I would like to point out my review may be a little biased because any flash or strobe unit that comes with a carrying case automatically starts at 5 stars in my book. So, I love the really nice compact case that comes with it. I also really like the accessories that come with it as well. I've been enjoying the easy attaching magnetic color gels.

Power: 5/5

As a 200W flash it gives me all the power it advertises. I've used this flash for

golden hour and night photography, much to my pleasure. I've also used if for

indoor photography as a hair light and as a key light and its more than enough power

Build Quality: 5/5

It's a plastic build case. it does feel like a thick durable plastic though, that can be replaced for $54

I chose to protect mine with a $16 Silicone case.

Ease of Use: 4/5

So, this was easy for me to use being that i was coming from the AD200 mark i. Even if someone

wasn't the basic functionality of the flash is pretty intuitive. It doesn't get complicated until you

get into the more advanced functions of the flash. Someone doing that though would know what

they are doing.

Functionality: 5/5

I love all the capabilities and versatility of this flash. I like how easy it is to sync to other Godox

devices on the platform. A feature that i love on this version of the flash is the color grouping

on the display screen for easy recognition. The battery life is amazing with these flash units. I

also like the magnetic flash heads.

The accessories range from great to so so quality wise, the AD200 is just incredible.

I can't say enough about how much of a game changer the AD200 has been for me and my fellow friends in the wedding industry. It's super strong, does a heck of a job for most run and gun portraiture and detail work, and also doesn't really take that much space. The fact that you can easily carry two of these in the same spot a telephoto lens takes in a camera bag is crazy.

The AD200 puts out a good bit of light, and paired with an umbrella you can do a whole boat load of family portraits. If you have never shot a South Asian wedding before, sometimes you can have up to 60~80+ group shots with the bride and groom right after the ceremony , and the Ad200 can easily last through the whole shoot without an issue at 1/4~1/2 power so you can refresh quick. The battery would barely be touched also and it could still probably go for 600+ more shots. It's good enough to easily get clear iso 400, f5.6~f8 shots for group shots, and get low enough power with TTL and HHS for softbox f1.2~1.4 shooting if you wanted.

I was able to test this with various systems including Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Fuji and they all work fine with TTL and triggered by a X3 remote.

The updates in the version 2 are nice, but not exactly something I would go out of the way to upgrade a version 1 from. The power button requires you to do a small combo rather than just the switch the version 1 have, which helps to stop accidental turn on (My friend had a major issue with this in his storage, and found his ad200prov1 dead quite a bit in his bag). The screen on the version 2 is a lot easier to read also.

I found with this bundle the accessories work, but some felt a little meh quality wise. The reflector head was fairly thin metal wise on the mount and also bent out of shape, but was easy to repair. The barndoor/grid/gels worked nice, but the tension style design they had seemed fine at first but fell off if when I moved the flash a little bit on the light stand. I tripled made sure it was on correct, and there doesn't seem to be a point that it "Locks" in place.

The Ad200 is a game changer if you don't have one, and if you do already have one this one is a good buy.

Pictures not of the flash are shot with the Ad200 using the supplied reflector and diffuser.

The AD200 Pro is worth upgrading over the Original Ad200

There are so many things I really like about the Godox AD200 Pro. The first thing you notice is the recessed rear buttons, no more changing the channels or turning on the modeling light on by mistake. The second thing I noticed was the consistency in color/light temperature. With the regular AD200, the temp would change depending on power, it's slight but noticeable when editing a ton of images. Without any scientific testing, the AD200 Pro seems to recycle faster and be less prone to going into protection mode, Saturday's wedding reception, I was pushing all of them pretty hard and quite a few times the other 4 AD200's (none Pros) was in protection mode and the 200 Pro would fire.

I really like the fact that the battery and charger are the same, I have a bunch of AD200's plus extra batteries and its nice to have the uniformity. I love it so much that when im doing posting this im going to buy another.

Portable, Convenient, Powerful.

The AD200 Pro is perfect when you want the convenience of a speed light but the power of a strobe. At, 200 watt seconds it's perfect for studio and great for outdoors. Specially being batter powered. The batteries last forever, too. I've been excited to own the pro-version since they announced it, and now that I do. I couldn't be happier.

Love this flash

My Godox family is growing and I finally got my hands on AD200pro. I love this flash for how versatile it is. I can shoot it alone with fresnel head, bare bulb head or even get an LED or round head. I can combine two units with the AD-B2, 2 head adapter, there is even a way to mount this on top of the camera with the battery pack strapped to my belt.

This is my favorite flash I mostly use it with the Glow EZ-lock beauty dish as my go to set.

You do need a Godox trigger in order to wirelessly trigger this unit but those go for as little as $46.

You cant have just one Godox flash it's all just one big family, it's affordable, it works well, it's well built, battery lasts a long time and will change they way you do your photography.
