PAIRED IT WITH CANON R50 V

The GODOX GMC-U6 cable was needed (purchased separately) to pair camera controls to this screen, because I have a Type -C input on my camera. Make sure you order the correct cable based on your cameras input size. Once paired, my cameras mini screen turns off. It would be nice to have both screens viewable. The only screen function that did not work for some reason, is the record button. My camera has physical record buttons in two different places on the camera itself, but I am not sure if this is a defective product, because the photo button, along with everything else works fine from the touchscreen. The products original boxing seemed good, but the box used for shipping was open and had no padding or bubble wrap inside to prevent the smaller product from sliding around. Screen is bright indoors. I did not use it outside. I may be returning this since there is no record function from the screen with my particular camera.

Outstanding quality. I wish they included camera control cables

I absolutely LOVE this field monitor because it's super bright, and has most of the features a pro-grade field monitor should.

First and foremost, the image quality and especially the brightness are outstanding, even when used outdoors. That's super important. Colors look accurate, and I love the fact that you can load your own LUTs using an SD slot on the bottom.

Zebras, Focus Assist, and False Color work exceptionally well ensuring your exposure and focus are correct, which is the single most important thing to look for in a field monitor.

I also love the build quality and ergonomics of this monitor. The metal case gives you a sense of durability and helps it dissipate heat while still remaining relatively lightweight. There are 1/4 20 mounting points with ARRI positioning holes on 3 sides making it easy to mount just about anywhere.

It's super easy to turn features such as focus assist (peaking), LUTs, and false color on and off using buttons located on the top and you can also change countless other options by double tapping the screen and using the touchscreen.

I also love the flexible power options. You can power it using off-the-shelf NP-F batteries, USB-C or using DC power from either an AC power cord or common D-Tap batteries. As a bonus, it even has DC OUT, so you can chain this screen with other DC devices like focus systems.

I think the pricing is just right. It costs more than some of the barebones field monitors, but still quite a bit less than some of the high end monitors that can also record, such as the Atomos Ninja series.

My only complaint is that they don't include a Camera Control cable in the box because there are multiple types of plugs on cameras, but they did include 3 types of HDMI cables (Micro, Mini and Full Sized). In my opinion, since those cables are very common and easy to find, I'd rather they skip those and include the camera control cables because they're only available from Godox. Since most modern cameras today have USB-C, they could've at least included that one.

Works perfect with my Sony FX-30

Great little monitor for video work. I use it with my FX30. It is easy to see the screen while filming outside in the sun.

OK?

So this is a Godox device so we know the performance is top notch. Build wise, features, ports, and display, on point. The hood is a bit lacking and Velcro is not the best. It doesn’t come with the camera control cable or a battery. For the price, they could throw in at least a battery and a bracket. But other than that, we all know what it does and it does it well.
