Oh boy was I excited to get the ML100R! Upon opening the box, this thing was even smaller than I was anticipating, an included hard case for travel, an included ac adapter, and a plethora of ML mount lenses and adapters. Oh, AND full RGB capability. As far as the price point with the included battery grip, this is a fantastic deal on paper.
The light output is very good, 120W of power, while the form factor remains small. Measure from my light meter at 1 meter, this light exceeded its rated lux output.
There's two main ways/use cases for this light that I have used in.
1. On the go or mobile with the battery grip.
2. On a light stand, power either by the ac adapter, or a dtap to dc adapter if not close to an outlet.
The light works GREAT for both of these use cases. When powered from a VMount battery (sold separately), it seems to be pretty power efficient. But watts are watts, I'm probably just use to larger lights sucking down my cine batteries quicker.
The RGB mode can be adjusted using the dial on the light, but your really going to want to use the Godox app, it makes it MUCH quicker, especially when making RGB adjustments. Additionally, you'll need to use the app to "mute" the light (i.e. jump from 100% to 0%). Unlike the ML100Bi, the ML100R power button has a double function, so you cannot tap the power button to "pause" (jump to 0%)
Now let me talk about the critical flaw....
When powering this on, there is a high pitch frequency that is emitted either from the power adapter, or from the fan. The sound seems to be worse at higher outputs (the worst at 100%). The first time I used the light, it triggered a ringing in my ear that lasted for 2 days. I used a different light for a couple days, then fired up the ML100R again and used it for lighting, and again is made the same sound. This is true whether using RGB or Bicolor modes. Didn't really test the effects mode, except temporarily.
In short, this light is extraordinarily compact. There is no build in battery, but that is a feature, not a detriment. It keeps the light lightweight, and easy to mount everywhere.
If not for the ear splitting high pitched frequency, this would be my FAVORITE light in the 100w to 150w range. I have not reached out to Godox support, but will, in hopes that this is a 1-off issue.,

Godox really showed up with this one! I’ve used one of their lights before and still love it, but it lives its best life plugged into a wall… this one feels like it finally unlocked portable power mode.
For something so compact, this light is seriously strong. The battery grip isn’t playing around either; it adds weight, but in exchange, you get a legit level of brightness with portability. It feels like bringing studio lighting along for the ride instead of compromising with weaker travel lights.
I mainly use lighting for product photos and cosplay setups, mostly indoors, and this fits right into that workflow. But I’ve also started taking it out on little adventures; walks, quick shoots, and testing it in different environments, and it’s been so fun having that flexibility.
The case is nice and keeps things organized, though I did have to find a separate spot for the power grip. Not a dealbreaker at all, just something to note depending on your setup.
What really sold me is how practical this is for real-life scenarios. I’ve had moments in the past where I needed lighting on the fly (like at events) and had to rely on borrowing from others. Having something like this ready to go just feels like leveling up my kit in the best way.

I have been a longtime fan of Godox products, both Flashes and Video lights, and this portable video light is yet another great light option.
It's lightweight and powerful, and it comes with full RGB color options. The build quality is premium, and the heat distribution is well-designed. The light can be controlled via the Bluetooth app, not as impressive, but it does provide a lot of features.
The light is a complete kit, including the power adapter, the mounting accessories, and the power grip. One thing to note is that the power grid does not appear to be from Godox; the output power is 100W, but the input charging speed is limited to around 60W. It's a little heavy, but it does provide a ton of juice!
My only complaint is about the light button experience. It's on the side, and if you hang or hold the light, you have to use two hands to keep it in place.

My Godox ML80Bi has quietly become one of those tools I didn't know I needed until it was already indispensable — quick lighting for run-n-gun video or a light for when I'm shooting candids of my daughter and I don't want to drag out a strobe. So when Godox decided to take that same formula and stuff it full of RGB, a wider CCT range, and more power, it was basically a foregone conclusion that I'd end up wanting one.
The ML100R bumps the output to 110W with a 1800K-10,000K CCT range and full HSI color control, so you're not just limited to white light anymore — you can dial in any color across the full RGB spectrum. The saturation and intensity of the color output is genuinely impressive for a light this size. CRI and TLCI both clock in at 95, which is solid for video and plenty usable for photo work where continuous light makes sense. Fourteen built-in FX modes round things out for anyone doing creative work or live streaming (fire, lightning, TV, welding, cop car, etc.). All of this is also controllable via the Godox Light app, which is super easy to use -- it's faster and shows more than the physical interface, and you can also remotely control power and set scenes for multiple lights, which is crucial if your lights are rigged out of reach, and speeds up workflows and changing lighting setups considerably.
One of the bigger upgrades over its predecessor is power flexibility. The ML100R can run off the included AC adapter or the bundled power bank (for this particular listing), and it also accepts input from any USB-C PD source with enough output — so if you're already hauling a decent PD bank on location, you're covered without adding the dedicated battery to your bag. The Godox mount system means you have access to the growing ecosystem of compact modifiers, including a new collapsible Fresnel attachment and a mini projection attachment, and there's even a Bowens adapter available if you want to use modifiers you already own.
The power bank this listing comes with isn't the OEM Godox unit, but it functions similarly to Godox's own BG-02 grip. The light mounts to the power bank and can power the light for about 45-50 minutes at full power for this light.
The included 15 degree reflector is a nice addition for more direct lighting -- the ML-Z zoom reflector that comes with the ML80Bi, however, is much better by allowing control of the spot (and a little extra power) through its zoom function.
110W is plenty for indoor work and controlled environments, but I'll be honest — if you're fighting noon sunlight outdoors, this is going to lose. That's not really a knock against the ML100R specifically so much as a reality check about what 110W continuous actually buys you when the sun is already doing 10,000 watts of work without asking. For the vast majority of what I'd use this for — video interviews, accent lighting, fill in product setups, and the kind of run-and-gun situations where dragging out a strobe feels like overkill — it's more than enough.
At $249 with the battery grip and carry case included, the value proposition is hard to argue with. It's not going to replace dedicated strobes for high-output work, but for the content creator, the hybrid shooter, or the photographer who wants a versatile continuous light that actually fits in a bag, the ML100R is a genuinely useful tool that doesn't require a dedicated Pelican case and a prayer.

Great continuous light. Small and easy to carry in your bag. The light can get really hot so just be aware but overall still a good purchase.

I love this RGB LED light It's so small and compact. Makes easy to take 2 of them. Best purchase for setting up lighting with color. Great value on pricing and great build quality. Amazing battery life. Very bright and vibrant colors. Definitely recommend it for photographers and videographers.

It has a power of 100W with a light output that gives me intense lighting
Its color temperature ranges from 2800K to 6500K, which allows for warm light and cold light. Its CRI is 97+ and TLCI is 98+, which guarantees natural and accurate colors. It includes several preset lighting effects that add creativity and realism to my videos. I love its compact size and light weight, which makes it easy for me to transport and use outdoors and in small spaces.
It connects with the Godox Light app, allowing you to adjust parameters remotely via Bluetooth.
I connect it with direct current and a power bank via USB-C, which gives me flexibility when using it.

The 15 degree optic on this is no joke. I'm going to also get the 36 degree optic. It can absolutely throw enough light through an umbrella to light you up with the sun at your back at golden hour, as you can see in the attached image. I also used it in the studio for stills with a rear-facing umbrella and it performed admirably. It also illuminated my B-Roll shots really well for my You Tube channel.
The only downside you might need to consider is the extra cost of a v mount battery if you don't intend to have this always plugged in. There's no internal battery on it so it always needs a power source of some kind. If you are considering these for a You Tube studio, they are perfect for that. I was initially concerned that the power output dropped to like 40% with a battery, but in the example I shared where I am talking to the camera, I'm not kidding when I say the power output of the light is only at 4%. Going up to 10% would completely wash my face out, so there are no issues with power. And because it uses an optic to magnify the power, it doesn't get very hot.
The operation of this little is really easy and it integrates into the Godox Light app with little to no effort.
Definitely recommend.

Today I'm reviewing this Bicolor video light,
My first impression of this kit was very positive due to the included high quality carrying case. This light is only slightly larger than my G60 but appears brighter and uses less power. Depending on the color temperature selected, at full intensity this draws between 70-75 watts of power.
The Godox mount seems nice and there is a Godox-Bowens adapter available. For my unit the included reflector failed to lock on. It appears there is a bit too much material and the locking pin and not engage. This is not a deal breaker for me, but it is definitely worth noting.
I'm impressed with the efficiency of this light. I also appreciate the physical power switch which I prefer to having to hold down power buttons for seconds or tapping a code to turn them on.
I would purchase again but would go with the kit with the battery handle instead. I will keep Godox in mind for future purchases as I like the build quality (aside from the failed reflector lock) and aesthetic look of this light.
Because of the failure of the locking mechanism on the reflector I will remove one star which brings my rating to four out of five stars.
Pros
- Locking power supply plug into light
- Long power supply cables
- Includes a great carrying case
- Seems brighter and draws less power than my G60 and only slightly larger
Cons
- Included reflector does NOT lock on. (Appears to be design defect)
- Integrated fan a little louder than my G60
- Another non-standard reflector mount. Why not bowens?

WHAT’S INCLUDED:
Godox Light With Protective Cover
Tripod Adapter
Reflector Light Cone
Power Cable and Power Brick
6 Color Light Covers (red, Blue, White, Yellow, Brown, Green)
Carrying Case
PRODUCT/THOUGHTS:
-I gotta start off by saying that this is a nice set because you get quite a bit with it and I really like the carrying case that everything comes in because it’s made pretty well and the handles are good.
-Alot of companies are cheap when it comes to the included carrying case but this one is above average quality. They have pull tabs on the zippers, A velcro loop on the handle, good stitching, and velcro dividers inside. They put in effort and it shows.
-The light itself is quite nice and goes from 2800 to 6500k in the CCT spectrum and you can reduce the brightness by percentage all the way down up to 100%. Those are the 2 knobs that you see on the light itself. The 3rd one is simply the on/off switch. They give you an LCD display so you can see what your settings are.
-This is NOT a battery-based unit by default, you need to plug it in via a 120V, 2-prong plug. However, they do make a battery handle accessory you can get, which does make this fully portable.
-You get 11 FX modes you can use which are accessed by the DIM/MODE button. Check the manual and it tells you how to use it. They also give you 6 colored sleeves you can put over the light to change the color directly.
Overall I really like this light, it can get very bright and I can hit multiple color tones with it when I’m filming.
2 Problems:
The Power cable with the barrel jack that goes into the Unit itself is Touchy. I think it's defective. There is a trick to it since it actually plugs in and there is a tightening nut around it that you need to secure and you have to make sure you have as much of the barrel jack “Stem” in the unit as possible before you tighten up, but I tested and the cord is touchy. My power would cut in and out regardless of all that.
The other thing is the color sleeves that you can put on the light are kind of loose. They’ll stay on, but they are not very tight and they probably should improve the elastic or have a little tension/tightening ability for them.

Godox delivers another great light but this one is very lightweight, portable, and bright white. Yep, not sure why they went with white on this one and honestly its the only weird thing about it. The Godox ML60ii Bi is a small 70W bi-colored LED COB style light. It claims 22,500 lumens at 100% brightness and comes with a reflector to direct the light. Because its small and light and comes with a convenient case, this light is almost screaming to be taken into the field but I tested mine inside and at the studio.
The controls are simple and easy to use. An on/off switch, a couple of button/combo knobs and a display.
It took about 10 seconds to figure out how to control the light and I do enjoy simple. Along with the bi-color, it has all the effects that all the COB light have but nearly no one uses. Really the bi-color is what I need and use 99% the time and its good to go. Another cool little add in feature is the elastic covers to color the light. They fit over the reflector and let you add some color to your work with little effort.
OK any negatives? I think the light should come standard with the mobile kit, not just the AC adaptor. This is clearly made with the intent to walk around with it, why not include the handle and cords you need for that? Seems like they're cheaping out. Also, it comes with the reflector cone and while I appreciate that, the light has the "Godox mount" which is annoying. Just include an annoying mount to Bowens mount adaptor and be done. Final nit to pick at is .. white colored body. Why? Maybe that's more a curiosity than anything.
Small issues aside, the light really is a great offering. Good for a tight studio shoot or a single light for product shots. It screams to be taken on location to shoot and because of the light weight, you can add this to an existing stand or use a very light stand with no problem. Over all, great little light.

This is a tiny light. It’s compact, small and lightweight. It does not have built-in battery but it can be powered by battery packs (NP or V mount) or an outlet. The kit comes in a nice case protecting the light unit, reflector, light stand mount with umbrella holder and a power adapter along with a manual.
This is light is very compact but it is very bright. I have a similar light from Colbor and this seems brighter. It turns out that Godox knows how to design their reflectors and while the output between the Colbor and this unit is about the same without the reflector, with the reflector, this is almost 7x brighter but at the expense of having a hot spot. Color temperature is adjustable from 2800k to 6500k but it seems to be off by 400k or so based on my Opple light meter so this light’s color accuracy falls behind that of the Colbor.
I really appreciate the simple layout and display that is clear and easy to see. While it may seem minor, I prefer having an actual switch that I can toggle instead of a button and the threaded design on power adapter is brilliant. I wish I had gotten the kit with the NP battery handle but I had a v-mount battery handle (non Godox so try it at your own risk) at home so using the standard 5.5mm plug, I was able to power the light up. How long the light will last will depend on your battery but my set up with SmallRig 212 Wh battery, I was able to power this at full brightness for well over 2 hours.
You can also use the Godox app but control the light but I didn’t test that part. Overall, it’s an excellent light that can be powered by many power sources. Only downside is that this has a Godox proprietary mount so your standard Bowens or mini-Bowens accessories will not work. I have few Godox flash accessories that are compatible with this light so it’s not a major issue but it would’ve been nice to use my other light modifiers with it. Overall, it’s excellent light and I recommend the kit with the battery grip as it truly provides quality portable lighting source. Highly recommended!

This light is really small so it doesn't take up a lot of space which is PERFECT for me being as I have a rather small room. Its also extremely lightweight so when I have it on a stand it doesn't get super top heavy and fall over while I am streaming. It is also the perfect size for travel and does come in a case! It wont take up too much room in a suitcase depending on how heavy you're packing.

Big light in a small package! I have attached a video. This was just the 1 light and it was the first time I turned it on. It is super easy to use. Has a bunch of different lighting effects and comes with colored modifiers for the light as well.
This light is capable of running off batteries but the accessory that you need to do that has to be purchased separately.
For the price, this is a very nice light to have in your kit!
