Not worth it. Save your money. Govee let us down with this product.

Not worth the money. Limited smart lighting options - all they do are flash rapidly. Directions missing details for parts included.

Save your money. Get a smart light from Hampton Bay at Home Depot for a fraction, easier installation, and great instructions.

I’d return if it weren’t for me completing the installation already.

Works great!

This is so much fun! I used the dream view to connect it to the TV. It’s awesome. The fan also works fantastic. I think it was reasonably priced for what we get.

Fan Speed Update!

They must have updated the software, because the lowest speed setting is in fact a normal slow speed. Either that or people are tripping. Great fan, 100% recommend.

I love this fan

I absolutely love this fan. All the options of lighting is unbelievable! Size is 52” so little bigger than the standard 42-48”. It looks very modern if that’s the look you are going for. Install is par for course with any other ceiling fan. I did have a little trouble at the end because I did it by myself. I would recommend 2 people to stream line the install. You can’t even hear this running, very quiet, like unbelievably quiet. I have this is a pretty large kitchen, the design of the light is so it’s thrown down like in like a funnel pattern is the best way I can describe it. It’s very bright, but it is dimmable. If the fan is mounted in a home with 10-12 ft ceiling the lighting will be awesome. My home only has 9 ft so it’s not as spread out as I would like it.

So good I installed two

I have installed two of these Govee ceiling fans now, and both installs were surprisingly easy. The instructions were clear, everything went together without any unnecessary frustration, and getting them connected in the Govee app was simple.

The fans themselves are quiet, move plenty of air, and look much more modern than a traditional ceiling fan. The lighting is one of my favorite features. You can use normal white light when you need functional lighting, then switch to RGBIC colors and effects when you want more atmosphere.

I already use a lot of Govee products throughout my home, so these fit right into the rest of my setup. Having app control and the ability to incorporate the fans and lighting into my smart home automations makes them much more useful than standard ceiling fans.

After installing the first one, I liked it enough to purchase and install a second. That probably says more than anything else I could put in a review.

Easy installation, quiet operation, great airflow, excellent lighting, and genuinely useful smart features. I would absolutely buy another one.

Pleasantly surprised!

I was sceptical at first but the reviews sold me. I do not regret it! The fan is powerful beyond beliefe, which may be a negative for some but i love it. The lights are greatand come with tons of options, and the blades are even reversible which i only realized while i stalling it!

I had it installed but they were done in 15 minutes so it couldn't have been too hard i dont think. Very happy with this fan!

I will say the included remote is not the best, but the app works great so i dont even use it

Features and performance accurately delivered

Govee makes a multitude of products that are remote/app controlled and interface with several home management systems.

I already had the Govee app to monitor some water leak detectors before deciding to purchase the ceiling fan with multimodal lights.

I probably could have spent less for a comparable fan, but I've found Govee products to be technically sound that delivers performance that rises above expectations. The fan is stylish, easy to assemble, and adequately circulates air in a 625 square foot master bedroom.

That being said, nothing is truly perfect. And the fan's remote is a bit sensitive to the right amount and length of touch pressure to get it to respond. No way that's a dealbreaker, though.

Attractive design at a fairly attractive price

We now have 3 of the Govee 52" ceiling fans installed with 3 more fans still to replace. They are very quiet and move a lot of air which helps tremendously with cooling. They weigh about half of what our old ceiling fans weigh, have a very modern look and you can customize the lighting colors with scenes. You can also group it with other Govee lights cor all kinds of scenes. I think the price is about right on point for the quality. So far I'd say they are very reliable as all of the Govee lighting we have has been.

Govee geeks & those who use apps/voice will love it, remote lacking, assembly easy, EXCEPT FOR …..

I ordered this Govee fan for an upstairs bedroom that the oldest kids use (10 to 12 years). They geek out on gaming electronics and lighting and use their phones to control them. I use Lutron automation and some home automation on thermostats, camera systems and window shades so I thought I would give this highly rated “connected” fan a whirl. On first read and try of assembly I was impressed as attaching the blades and just connecting wires was a breeze and went quickly. I was also pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t a giant control rectangular receiver box I had to squeeze, manipulate and fit into the upper bracket along with all the connected wires and plugs, as I had just done with another fan install. Thinking I would be done shortly, quickly, I got to the end to install the outer housing and soon realized I missed a step. The two flat head screws that are supposed to fit through the round hole and slot then twist to hold the housing in place were not loose. Not only were they not loose, they were overly tight and the large flat head does not fit through the round part of the slot. To make a long story shorter... the screws have to be removed completely (super awkward & frustrating after assembly of the fan to the ceiling ) then the housing has to be properly aligned and held with one hand so the screws can be threaded into the bracket on both sides with the other. You will need a magnetic tip screw driver to make this easier or even possible. I blamed myself initially for missing this step that caused 30 minutes plus of frustration on what could have been a 5 to 10 minute install, but looking at the instructions again there is no mention of loosening and removing these screws prior to even mounting the bracket to the ceiling. Other fans use screw heads that fit the through the housing holes so they don not have to be completely removed either, just loosened. These don’t. See my photos for a better explanation. The fan itself is nice, good airflow decent appearance. I really like the upper light independent of the down light. Even just using a simple warm yellow “night light” sets a nice glow and calming scene. But that also brings another dislike, the remote. The basic remote is lackluster if you are the type that uses the basic remote. There is no button to separate the upper and lower lights, they have to be either both on or both off. There are also no simple speed buttons for 1,2,3,4, 5 as on other fans I have installed. This one has a big wind and small wind button to infinitely vary your speed. I prefer just grabbing a remote and hitting the speed 3 button and know it will move to that speed, not constantly pressing buttons to get there. The app may do this very nicely or via voice control thought Alexa or Siri or whatever if you have your phone /watch or a voice port close, I am not there yet it may be more reading /learning. The energy usage is super low based on the energy efficiency sticker, it’s super quiet and COULD be super easy to install if they use proper screws and make note in the instructions.

Govee Fan

Absolutely love the fan. Way better airflow then then my old fans. Very quiet and has excellent lighting. Needs one more slower fan speed setting.

Easy install and set-up.

Quiet fan with great air movement. For those that said it was too fast, Govee updated the software for the fan speeds.

Item comes securely packaged. Please make sure to keep screws from ceiling box outlet as they will be needed to secure the ceiling fan mount to the outlet box, if that is your install option.

I used the box for support when mounting the fan blades. Whatever color fan blade you see while screwing them in place is what will be showing when the fan is hung. I later switched them from the black in the picture to brown as that is what the wife wanted.

When attaching the downrod to the fan the two screws just screw into the side of the metal, so make them a little snug. You will still have the pin and clip for most of the support.

I decided to wait and place the bottom light on once the fan was installed. I've done it both ways and it would be easier to do it earlier if you have discomfort with shoulder movements over your head.

This is my second Govee fan of this type and I plan on at least two more. Each remote links to the individual fan when using the Govee app. The light is extremely bright, color can be changed, and brightness dimmed. This fan can move some air and do it quietly.

Love the fan speed and lighting options

Easy to install. Size is perfect for our room. Received compliments a few days after installing due to the light options. Controlling through the app makes it a lot more customizable.

Fan speeds are fast. One thing I was worried about prior to purchasing is having to use both top and bottom lights but the app allows you to turn them off/on.

Excellent fan - easy assembly - very quiet

I'm really happy with this ceiling fan. The general assembly and how this one went together makes it one of the easiest I've ever done. The blades were much easier to install than on a lot of other fans. The only thing I thought was a little odd was the order of putting the bottom facing light on before putting the fan into the bracket (already installed into the ceiling). I didn't follow the written instructions at that point, as you can see my fan already up on the ceiling but without the light on it. I thought it was a lot easier this way to put the light up and twist it into place. The fan motor is very quiet, even at the top speed. Controlling the lights through the app is super easy, it just took a few minutes to get connected and then understand how the lights are controlled differently (the top and bottom are separate, and the top has about 5 different assignments - so you can make it alternate colors if you want). For a smart ceiling fan, easy install, and quite motor, the price on this is very competitive and makes this fan an excellent value compared to most others available at big box stores. Highly recommended if you're looking for a 52-inch ceiling fan.

Powerful, silent, bright, and easier to install than I expected

I installed this Govee ceiling fan and light in the center of my living room after removing my old ceiling fan, and I’m really happy with the upgrade.

The biggest surprise is how much air this thing moves. It has been around 94 degrees here in Ohio, and with the AC running, multiple family members have asked me to turn the fan down because the room felt too cold. That’s a good problem to have. For something this sleek and modern looking, I wasn’t expecting it to push air as hard as it does.

The light is also way brighter than I’ll ever need it to be. I like having the full brightness available, but most of the time I’ll probably keep it dimmed down because it has plenty of output. The smart lighting features are exactly why I like buying Govee products. It turns a normal everyday home fixture into something that can change the whole feel of the room.

Installation was very manageable. I had never installed a ceiling fan before this, but I have installed several ceiling light fixtures, and this was not difficult coming from that experience. The mounting kit felt sturdy, the bracket setup was solid, and the fan felt secure once installed. You do need to make sure your ceiling box is rated for a fan and that you’re comfortable working safely with electrical wiring, but the fan itself was not complicated to put together.

The motor is basically silent. No annoying hum, no wobble, no cheap rattling sound. Just airflow. I also really like that it comes with both app control and a physical remote. I’m big on smart home products, but for a ceiling fan, having a real remote still matters.

This is exactly why I keep buying Govee products. It looks clean, works immediately, pushes serious air, gets brighter than I need, and fits right into the rest of my Govee ecosystem. If you want a ceiling fan that feels like both a functional fan and a smart lighting upgrade, this is an easy recommendation.

This fan really moves the air!

These are the most awesome ceiling fans I've ever owned.

I've replaced 5 of 6 ceiling fans and waiting on my 6th to be delivered.

They are an easy install if you are handy. The fans can really move the air around even on its lowest setting, which is where I keep it.

Pictures and videos do not do justice to the features and how this fan looks when you turn on the lights and colors. I also like the ability to control the main and backlight separately. It feels as though the scenes and colors are endless. The blades can be installed with black or wood grain showing. It's nice to have quiet fans again as several of my older units were getting quite noisy. If you have separate switched for light and fan, you will only need one. I capped off the wire for the light at the ceiling box and removed the switch, capped those wires and purchased a blank and reinstalled the face plate. If there were anything additional I could suggest with this fan, it would be a cradle for the remote. I was able to find one online however. Great ceiling fans!!!

Great fan but bulky

The fan works well. It's sturdy and blows a wonderful windstorm in our current heatwave.

I really like the multicolored top light. It's a cool feature. I do wish the presets for the movement were a bit more smooth though. They feel very choppy and discordant.

I also don't love the bottom light. It is plastic and only a single color. While very bright, it looks kinda cheesy and lacks the cool color changing features of the top light.

Installing it was fairly easy but definitely a two man job. I feel like the instructions could have been more clear in places.

Additionally the app is confusing. The custom schedule I created does not appear to have worked.

Overall good product but I probably won't buy the same thing for my other bedroom.

Mostly Great With a Few Shortcomings

I installed this fan over the weekend and will cover the pros and cons below. This fan replaced a Harbor Breeze 3 speed 48inch fan. The Govee fan is installed in my living room which has an 8ft ceiling. The room is 16x16.

Installation: I've installed a handful of ceiling fans over the years and this was probably the easiest install I've done. Govee made it very easy to install and it's well thought-out. I used the included 4" down rod instead of the pre-installed 6"

Pros:

The light is VERY, VERY, bright! Far brighter than the LED light on the fan it replaced. You can have either top light, bottom light, or both turned on. There is one brightness control that controls both lights. It has a very wide color temperature range, in fact the most I've ever seen. You can pretty much set it to any shade of white light you want. The Govee scenes are cool and work well but really don't use them. The top light has 8 addressable segments you can assign colors to. The bottom/main light has 1 addressable segment. (more on this below on Dreamview)

The fan moves A LOT of air. (also a con, see below). The fan has 6 speed settings and is very powerful. I typically only run it on speed 1 or 2. It's also very, very quiet and makes next to no sound.

Cons:

The fan, even on the lowest speed, is higher/faster than the medium speed on the Harbor Breeze fan it replaced. It could really use a much slower speed 1. Speeds 4-6 are really unnecessary given how fast 2 and 3 are, but maybe some people would find those useful. Again, mine's only on an 8ft ceiling so those higher fan speeds may be beneficial on a very high ceiling. As we watched a movie Sat night I found myself frequently turning the fan off/on which is something I'd never do with the Harbor Breeze fan.

Movie Dreamview: I have the fan synced with my AI Sync Box V2. Yes you can add/sync the fan lights to movie-watching Dreamview. However, despite the top light having 8 addressable segments (if you want to make your own light colors as stated above) the fan light only shows as a single addressable device in Dreamview (see my picture). I was very surprised when adding the fan that the left/right sides of at least the top light were not addressable given there are 8 addressable segments outside of Dreamview. Being there is no center assignable value in Dreamview, you are then forced to use either a right or left value. You can see in my screenshot I've assigned value 13 from the top-right. In doing so, the fan light then only follows what is on the top right side of the TV screen. It would be great if you could at LEAST assign a value of 12 to the left side of the light and a value of 13 to the right side. Again, referencing my attached pic, you pretty much have a choice of 12, 13, 2, or 3.

You can choose to have either top light, main light, or both on during movie Dreamview. I only use the top light as the main light is just too much and makes it too bright during movies. Again, my ceiling is only 8ft so results may very if you have a higher ceiling. You might prefer that main light on. If you do use both lights, I noticed they don't always match in Dreamview. Depending on the color, with some colors, both lights will match, some other colors do not. Not sure if it's because the bottom/main light is RGBWW while the top one is RGBICWW. The top light always seems to better match what the AI Sync Box LEDSs show.

Alexa Integration:

The device 'fully' integrates into Alexa but with surprisingly limited verbal commands. So, if you setup Alexa Routines you can do things like turning the fan on/off, setting it to a specific speed, turning either light on/off, setting the colors/scenes. However, if you verbally say "Turn on/off the Govee Fan" only the lights turn on/off. While you can verbally set the fan speed, you cannot verbally turn the fan on/off. I have a Bond Bridge from years ago that I use to make my other non-smart ceiling fans 'smart.' Being the remote control for the Govee fan uses RF, I was able to add it to the Bond Bridge. That served as good workaround to the aforementioned limitations as I can now verbally turn the fan on/off, albeit through the Bond Alexa integration.

The Remote Control: It's fine, nothing much to say. It's an RF remote. Would have been nice had they included a holder for it.

Price/Value: I think the fan is fairly priced considering everything it does and how it performs. It's competitively priced with similar sized fans that do far less than this does.

Conclusion: Overall I'm actually very happy with the fan. However I probably wouldn't have bought it had I known about the Dreamview limitation. I've contacted Govee support with feature requests regarding the above issues with how fast the lowest fan speed is, and lack of better Dreamview integration. All that said, it still looks awesome in Dreamview and creates a cool looking glow on the ceiling. As for both lights not exactly matching during Dreamview, I recommend not spending too much time watching your fan lights instead of your movie. Again, non-issue for me as I just don't use the bottom/main light during Dreamview.

Great new product from govee

I've had my ceiling fan before this for years but it was noisy, got dusty, and was manually controlled. I use almost a dozen govee products from light bulbs to smart plugs and was excited when I saw this so I took the leap of faith as its a new product and bought it. Safe to say - this is becoming one of my favorite govee products. By far the only hard part of this installation was removing my old fan. Took me less than 30 mins by myself to build and install the fan - you do have to connect some wires so make sure you're comfortable doing that but the instructions are great and simple and the build easy. I would recommend having 2 people for this build but I was able to easily by myself. This fan in incredibly powerful - I like having my room cold when I sleep and this is incredibly strong at the max setting while still being silent, but also comfortable and calm at the lower settings. In the winter too you can reverse the airflow which makes this super versatile. I control it using a google home, the remote control that comes w it, and the govee buttons which makes it super easy to adjust. The winning feature though are the lights, the colors are vivid and it gets insanely bright - at the highest brightness - its like the sun is in my room. The remote control is made well with all the buttons and offers great and easy control. I love the customizability within the app too - having crazy control over the top sections and bottom

Bright light, strong airflow, and perfect for a hot Florida office

I replaced a smaller ceiling fan in my home office because the old one just wasn’t cutting it — the light wasn’t bright enough, and the airflow left a lot to be desired. Living in South Florida, summer heat is no joke, and I need all the help I can get with air circulation when I’m working.

This fan has been a huge improvement. The airflow is surprisingly strong for a low-profile fan and keeps my office noticeably more comfortable, even during hotter afternoons. The light is also much brighter than my previous fan, which made an immediate difference in the room.

As always, the app control and customization are where Govee really excels. I already use several of their products, so setup felt familiar and easy.

The app gives you tons of control over brightness, color temperature, fan settings, timers, scenes, and RGB lighting without feeling complicated. I love being able to quickly switch from bright, productive lighting during work hours to softer lighting in the evening.

The lighting is honestly just fun. You definitely don’t need it, but it adds a cool vibe and lets me change the mood depending on the day. The fan itself also looks sleek and modern without feeling bulky.

For me, this ended up being more than just a smart gadget — it genuinely solved two problems I had: poor lighting and weak airflow in a room that gets way too warm in a Florida summer. 😄

Another home run for Govee!

This ceiling fan light is outstanding, incredibly bright, easy to install and it can be a great addition to any room. Absolutely beautiful and syncs up with all of your lights including your TV back light! This is why I only have Govee lights in and around my house. Lights, fans, air purifiers, dehumidifiers, and most importantly, outstanding customer service!

Govee Ceiling Fan

I've been wanting a remote control ceiling fan to replace the non-remote unit in my bedroom. Since I love Govee products, what better than a Govee remote control ceiling fan? First off, I'm glad it has a physical remote for the fan, instead of having to rely on the app. When I wake up in the middle of the night and I want the fan on, I don't really want to be looking at my phone screen and trying to adjust to the light. I prefer a remote that I can hit buttons by feel and memory. Installation of the fan is a breeze, no pun intended. With the included lever lock wire connectors, the wiring aspect is simple (be sure to turn power off at your breaker box!) and the rest of the installation is literally just as easy. Mount the hanger unit to your junction box and the hanging of the main unit is a matter of hanging the ball end into the hanger bracket. I'm old enough to remember when ceiling fans did not mount in this manner, and there were no lever lock wire connectors, and it was an overall pain and took two people. Once the fan is fully installed and power back on, pairing with the app and your Wi-Fi takes seconds. The upper light unit is great for watching TV at night for a nice mood setting, and you can also use the main light and just dim it down. The fan itself is more than enough for the bedroom, and I always use it on low--it moves plenty of air for the size of the room. I have several Govee products, with my son getting me started with a Christmas present from him (the lights that go on the back of your TV), and the things I like is that all sync in the app, open it up and there's all your different lights. They work and do exactly what they are supposed to do. I've never had an issue with any of my lights. Lastly, I found that the more you dig around in the app for whatever lights you have, you can find that you can change lighting effects with a majority of the scenes, vary speed, and brightness. The more you play around with the app, the more you discover. I highly recommend Govee products.

C

Chris

Ugly but they work amazingly well.

I bought 3 of these directly from Govee. Honestly, I think they are kind of ugly, and the blades are very bland looking, but they are amazing nonetheless. The scenes and voice control you can get with Alexa is the reason why I continue to buy govee products. 4 stars because I think they could have made a more appealing design.

FANtastic!

Govee did really well with this. It is silent even on Max speed, perfectly balanced and smooth operation, colors are very vibrant and extremely bright. Absolutely great fan, and entirely changes the vibe in the room with the colors.

Modern Smart Fan With Impressive Lighting Features

This ceiling fan was much easier to install than expected and everything lined up properly during setup. The fan runs very quiet even at higher speeds and moves a good amount of air across the room. The smart lighting features are what really make this stand out since you can fully customize colors, brightness, and scenes through the app or remote as well as tie it to your existing Govee lights. The RGBIC backlighting adds a cool modern touch without looking overdone. I also like that the main light gets bright enough for everyday use instead of just being decorative. Great option for bedrooms, game rooms, or anyone wanting a more updated smart home setup. I set it up in my living room and tied it to my Govee rope and side lights. For around $190this is not a cheap fan but worth it if you are thinking about getting one.

Ravekiss

Powerful, quiet, so many options for lighting!

Installation:

Installation of this ceiling fan was a breeze. It’s especially easy if you already have an existing light box. Attaching the sturdy well made blades is straight forward, just slide them into the slot with the your preference of the black side or the wooden colored side and attach using three screws each. The screws ended up being completely hidden once the fan is up. Wiring is straight forward once you have an idea what you’re doing, it even comes with quick connect wire connectors. There are two options for height of the fan depending on your ceiling: there is a 6in pole already partially setup and en extra 4in pole that can be swapped out if you want the fan higher on the ceiling.

Connections to Remote and App:

To pair this ceiling fan with the remote is too quick and easy. Everything is built in to the fan so no messing around with manual settings, all it involves is pressing a button on the remote to pair.

Pairing to the app is similar to all other Govee products since the app recognizes the fan immediately and you just follow the few steps.

Usage:

This ceiling fan is almost silent which is surprising since it has a very powerful motor. There are 6 levels of speed with the lowest level giving ample breeze to the highest level being super powerful.

When it comes to the app, there is a world of options available at the touch of the screen. There are dozens of scenes and millions of color options. You have the ability to use either one of the lights on the fan or both, controlled separately. The app also changes the speed of the fan and its power.

Overall Opinion:

I think this ceiling fan is definitely worth the asking price. It’s very sleek and modern looking whilest being one of the most powerful fans I’ve used. All parts are quality made. Lighting options are completely customizable. App is easy to use. My husband is very picky when it comes to things like this and he loves it and would definitely purchase it again.

Govee has a winner on their hands with this one!

Lightweight easy to assemble and full of ambient light settings that will set a mood in any room it’s in. I love govee products I have them everywhere in my home. Brought a second one for my bedroom and may by a third for my Garage
