This is a hefty, two zone transformer that puts out a very respectable 300W of power. Nice solid case on it. This should hold up to a ton of abuse, albeit watch the LCD display. Buttons are clear and easy to depress, and the LED is easy to read. If you haven't hooked one of these up, they are really easy. Strong power cable, clean terminals for your low voltage wire. The one thing I am not thrilled with is the price point for retail is almost half that for vine reviewers, which indicates some questionable tactics. Watch the price point.

The best low-voltage landscape transformer we’ve ever owned with a 10 year warranty
This is by far the best, most versatile low-voltage landscape transformer we’ve ever purchased. It’s very solid construction, which will mean years of durability. It’s also backed by a 10 year warranty, which is unheard of. It’s very easy to use in spite of the many functions that offers, including dual zones and multiple ways to illuminate from timers to a Photo cell that’s not just on the transformer but at the end of accord so you can place it away from eaves or dark areas to ensure the sun hits it for accurate on off operation. It comes with a long plug-in cable and install installation as well as connectivity and functionality and compatibility with our low-voltage lights is excellent. I took a short video so you can see it up close and hopefully that will help you determine if it’s something you’d like to purchase. Definitely recommended as an excellent value for your money.

Nice low voltage transformer for landscape lights. Well made, easy to operate, GREAT instructions.
Wow, I opened this landscape transformer and it has some serious weight to it. More often than not, when you order something like this, its clearly made on the inexpensive side, corners are cut and lower quality materials are used. This is not one of those items. It is well made down to the instruction manual. The housing is about 10 inches tall, about 4.5 inches from front to back, and the width is about 6 inches from side to side. There is a heavy duty grounded power cord and a photo cell sensor for the light sensor, the sensor is on the end of a almost 7 feet long cable so you have plenty of length to run the sensor out to where it gets full sun, The instruction manual is DETAILED, there many options from 4, 6 , or 8 hours or AUTO that runs from dusk to dawn. There are also two zones so you can have power to two different locations/runs from one power supply. The 300 watt power supply provides plenty of power to run multiple lights. There is a 12volt supply and 14 volts for those longer runs where the power drops off towards the end of the supply line. This feature is available on BOTH sides of the supply. I mentioned the instruction manual is really well written, its thorough in explaining the features and how to set the timers and run the drops to the lights. There are also mounting screws/wall anchors included, In my opinion, this transformer needs a solid surface, something solid to hold the weight. It is heavier than it looks, a little over 11 pounds. I also like the long photo sensor cord, this is a nice unit and keeping it under a deck or out of the weather would be nice. Keep the nicer stuff protected and it lasts longer. Really impressed with the look of the unit and design of the control panel. The manual goes into detail about controls and options. This will probably supply most of my needs in the front yard and down the driveway. If I needed another, this would definately be the go to addition. Seems really solid and well made. Pleased with the item.

A 300W Low-Voltage Transformer That Brought My Old Path Lights Back to Life
This 300W low-voltage transformer by HIBOITEC is a solution that will be breathing new life into a collection of path lights I have that have been sitting idle for over two decades.
Still in original boxes, they were used just once by me for a gardening magazine photo shoot. Since then, they’ve essentially been in hibernation in brand new condition.
I never got around to installing them, in part because the transformer that came with them, while state-of-the-art for the turn of the century, was a big clunky fixture with only a simple analog dial timer.
So, two immediately appealing features of this transformer led me to order it.
First: an auto on/off function controlled by a photocell. That is going to be so much better than constantly resetting my old unit’s analog timer dial.
Second: The other listed feature is one I’m uncompromising about, and that’s certification. The minute I saw this sentence in the product listing I knew I’d found what I needed: “ETL Listed certification confirms this unit meets US outdoor electrical safety standards.”
And, indeed, that certification is attached to the actual unit.
As someone with an old-school pre-LED low-voltage path light system, I’m going to have a greater power need than for a typical modern LED setup. So a 300W unit like this one makes a lot of sense.
I haven’t set up my lights yet, pending a consult with spouse on final location and design.
But in order to test the functions of this transformer, I unboxed one example from my collection that I’ve regretted keeping under wraps for so long, because I remembered how good it looked in my shots on the magazine page. It’s one of a pair of Tiffany-style flower-form lamps, with real leaded glass construction.
This transformer has an impressive abundance of options for powering and controlling a low-voltage system. Those specs are spelled out in great detail in the product listing and there’s no sense being redundant and going over each and every one here.
I will say that the unit’s 300W status is a real plus if I ever decide to hook up all the lights I have in stock. Since they’re old-school halogen sources, and I have 15 lights total, I needed a transformer with appropriate power.
And this unit definitely fits the bill. At 11W per lamp, my setup will come in comfortably below the manufacturer-recommended total load of 240 watts.
In preparation for installation, to get to know the workings of the unit, I did a preliminary hookup of the Tiffany-style lamp. Instructions are clear and detailed, so setup was a breeze.
Amazingly, I didn’t even need to set the time. The correct local time came up the second I plugged the unit in.
In testing the auto on/off, as controlled by the photocell, I was glad I’d read in the manual and knew beforehand that there’s an approximately one-minute lag time before the system turns off the lights when it senses a bright ambient light level.
After that interval, the system shut my test light down as expected.
I shot some footage as I went along. (See video.)
The clips show:
My path light illuminated by the transformer.
Connection terminals for the two available zones and voltage output levels.
Voltmeter readings (with only one test lamp connected) for the 12V terminal output (14.5V) and the 14V terminal output (16.4V).
Photocell with removable cap.
Activation of control button options for Zone 1. They are the same for Zone 2.
This is a clearly well-designed and solidly constructed unit. My collection of low-voltage path lights, in storage for so long, finally has a worthy power source.

Sturdy, Well‑Built Unit With Thoughtful Features
🔧 Solid Mid‑Tier Build: This transformer feels sturdy, well‑constructed, and built to last several years — as long as you stay within the 80–90% load rule. Plan your lighting wattage for today and future expansion, and keep it ideally under 240 watts (max 270).
⚡ Circuit Breaker Tip: If the built‑in breaker trips, you’re either overloading the unit or have a wiring issue. Recheck total wattage first, then inspect your connections.
🎛️ Easy‑Use Controls: The mode buttons are simple to operate, and the illuminated indicators make it clear which settings you’ve selected. Each of the two zones has its own buttons and lights — perfect for front/back yard setups.
🔌 Dual Voltage Zones: Each zone offers 12V and 14V outputs. The 14V option is great for long wire runs where voltage drop can occur. Most modern LED landscape lights handle 12–24V, but always confirm your light specs and wire length.
🪛 Thoughtful Wiring Design: The screw clamps move with the screw head, so no more fighting with a flathead to lower the clamp. A small detail, but a very welcome one if you’ve dealt with older designs.
🌦️ Installation Notes: While it’s rain‑resistant, placing it somewhere with reduced water exposure will extend its life. Make sure the photosensor is positioned where it catches the last bit of daylight so your lights don’t turn on too early.
🔆 Photosensor Details: It comes with a protective cover — easy to forget, so remove it if you plan to use the sensor.
🧩 Helpful Extras: The included hole stencil makes mounting effortless — no measuring or DIY templates. Screws, anchors, and even a small attachment for hanging the photosensor are all in the box.
💵 Value & Build Quality: Hiboitec tends to make solid products, and this one feels like a respectable residential‑grade unit. I can’t speak to the internal electronics, but the weight alone suggests it should outlast the lightweight 5‑lb units at the same wattage — just don’t overload it.

OK so far, nice features
I ordered this to replace an aging power supply from another company that had been running strong for many years. What you see below is my honest review a pros and cons FaceTime Maek sprints doing landscape, lighting and improvements for many years. I use my landscape lights to complement some permanent house lights that come on in the evening, but go off by midnight. That is where this comes in because I can have part of my lights on with the permanent house lights and have the rest of them come off in the middle of the night for security lighting when they shut off per their schedule. In my particular situation is mounted on a covered porch area, so hoping it will last longer being away from rain and sun.
PROS:
-The dual zone is a nice feature in allows you to control two sets of Lighting based on your needs
-The option for dusk to dawn, or setting specific times for each zone
-Easy to program, read the manual if needed, I did not have to
-Dual Voltage: 12 or 14vdc when you have longer runs of wire, low voltage drops faster
-Long wire on the photocell that can be mounted away from the unit
-Includes stainless steel screws to mount everything
CONS:
-The terminal strip is kind of a nightmare. I have some 10 gauge wires as well as 12 that I use for a couple of different areas depending on their length. My 10 gauge is needed because I got quite a distance to reach my furthest lights.
-I would have liked to have seen a longer extension or enclosure area on the bottom to protect the incoming wires better.
CONCLUSION:
Not sure how long the keypad and buttons will stay weatherproof if this is out in direct sun and rain. It is listed to be waterproof, but not our thing is it says it is. I don't have that much load on it so I can tell you if it meets the 300 watch listed writing or not. Overall, the price point is about right with other ones that I have purchased, but can't speak to its longevity at this point.
PRO TIP:
You could take the screws out of the wire terminals, put your wire in and then thread the screw back in. Just make sure no the strands of wire or over the screw hole so that you don't strip it out.

Feels Commercial Quality, Every Feature I Need
This dual zone 300W transformer by HIBOITEC has so many convenient features. It transforms 120 Volt electricity down to 12V or 24V for outdoor landscape lighting. It is connected via wiring from the transformer to landscape lights wiring with wire connectors. You will need to purchase wire connectors and lights. It is IP65 rated meaning it is sealed to protect against rain.
So many technical features are included on this transformer. First, it has two independent zones that are separately controlled. This means you can have different landscape lighting zones turn on and off at different times throughout the day or night. I prefer lights off as the evening wears on to keep bugs away up front but enjoy seeing the yard lit up in back. The easy zone modes allow me to set this up quickly or change it as seasons change. It also has built in memory so a power outage won't reset my lighting schedule.
Each zone includes a 12V or 14V option; 12V for runs under 100 feet and 14V for 100+ feet runs. It also has an external photo cell with over 6 ft cable to sense daylight and night to automatically turn my lights on or off and a mount kit. (There's also a cover for the photocell if you prefer not to use this option). It also comes with a template for mounting the transformer which is really nice.
Overall, this is an excellent value for all of the included technical features for the price of under $130 at the time of my order. This is incredible for a 300W transformer with dual zones. This transformer was very well thought out and includes very detailed instructions. The quality is exceptional and I highly recommend this.
