I’m blessed with the ability to fall over, fortunately only twice this year. The first time after numerous X-rays it was established no bones were broken. The second time a head cut that bled profusely but healed quickly and a knee and leg injury that took 6 weeks to heal. So I bought a Hootie. The closest neighbor is approximately 30 meters away and whilst the siren of the Hootie scared our chicken and the light was quite dazzling the sound of the siren was not sufficient to alert my neighbours when we carried out a test.. I am in my 92nd year and interested in reaching my 93rd so if anyone can recommend a wearable safety alarm with extreme volume for old farts that tend to trip and fall when sober, yet never when slightly or even very intoxicated, please let me know.

I feel safer carrying these
I love them! I have a few and have given them as gifts. They are loud and easy to use. And you can attach them to pretty much anything. They come in a few colors and are pretty small.

It’s little, but mighty!
This little alarm, is loud, piercing actually! The light is very bright, as well! Its small design is perfect and easy to carry with your keys! It works well, by pulling out the pin and easy return after activation. It’s well made. I purchased the Mint green, for easy viability. It definitely is giving me peace of mind for security and safety. Every woman and girl, should be carrying one of these, for sure! It’s well worth the investment! Don’t hesitate! I love mine! 💚

Didn’t go off when needed
I ordered three and one never worked change the battery and we needed. It wouldn’t work so a total waste of my money and if we had an emergency, it’s totally worthless.

Broken with no indication whatsoever until it fell off
It literally just fell off of my keys and there’s no noise or sound or anything. This whole time I hadn’t pulled it because I thought it would be such a loud alarm and such inconvenience, but apparently it’s been broken the whole time. So much for peace of mind.

Good value. Well made. Inconspicuous.
Well made. Like that it comes with a carabiner. Loud, but thought it might be louder. Strobe light and sound speaker on opposite sides. If both pointed in same direction, might be better.

Battery replacement
To clarify, I'm pretty savvy when it comes to reading directions so thought I would post some pics for anyone else buying these hooties. I purchased multiple approx a year ago, and yes, it takes about that time to need to replace the batteries. 1st pic shows the "cover" I removed per directions...what a pain! And then I stuck a wee screwdriver down the little holes to try and line up with whatever screws are there...there are none! So I thought it was a lost cause and willing to just break it open with a large screwdriver on the side cracks...wa-la, I worked the screwdriver around the edge to get the silly thing to pop off. 2nd pic shows where the batteries are hiding, and yes, there are the batteries under the motherboard! And THERE were the 2 wee screws that needed to be removed! Don't try to remove the silver cover...push the batteries out from the side! Replace them, reassemble, and now it will be even louder than when you first received them! Now that I know what "cover" to remove and where the screws are, I will replace batteries in those I've given to my kids! I hope this helps save someone else the troubles I had. For the record, the distribution company had no idea how to find the batteries...only could tell me "there was a trick to it"...the trick is knowing what cover to remove! lol Now that I know this, yes, I would buy more and replace the battery after 6 months to keep it LOUD! Be safe!

Goes off randomly, broken after 5 months of minimal use
I walk home from closing shifts and wanted something to deter unwanted attention. Luckily I haven’t had to use it outside of testing it. It’s easy to use, almost too easy as it’s come apart and gone off multiple times on accident. My biggest issue is that, after 5 months of basically no use, I can’t carry it anymore because it goes off at the slightest touch. There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with it physically, it’s just become super sensitive. It’s a cool idea and it’s something defensive I could ideally take everywhere (unlike tasers or pocket knives), but I can’t take it anywhere if it’s going to go off every few minutes.
