Gorgeous book! I love the vivid colors and really feel it will draw a child's attention. I bought this for a 7 year old girl as a birthday present. She had a mermaid party and this fit the theme so well. Beautiful hardcover book that I hope she loves for years and then can pass down to her younger sister. I paired this with a beautiful mermaid necklace, too, so she can "catch" her mermaid.

The kindle version is completely broken. It's zoomed way out and small on my Kindle Colorsoft. It doesn't even allow me to manually zoom in. It was clearly authored wrong. I'd love for them to fix it.

We have quite a few of the how to catch series and this one is not great… the sentences feel lopsided, the rhyming is kinda terrible, even my 11 year old (listening to me read it to a younger sibling) commented that it sounded very clunky. It reads like it was written by AI. Giving it 3 stars because the 5 year old still likes it, and really that’s what matters

I love this book so much because of the bright and creative images. I think the sharks portrayed in the story are a bit creepy looking but besides that it’s an awesome book. My girls are two years old and they love to point out to different and interesting images on each page.

This is a really fun and well made product. The felt pieces are super cute and have nice Velcro on each piece. However, I deducted a star because although they are really cute, and a lot of them, they don’t actually match the book. It’s all “sea” related but there are many main points on each page that have no item to use. Great for making up your own story or letting the child be creative but not if you are wanting to tell the story in the book. I have a nonverbal 6 year old that we are working on choices and “next”. Can’t really do that with the story with felt pieces included.

We bought this for our toddler. She absolutely loved it. I love the colours, how catchy the pictures are. The book cover really catches the eye with the mermaid. The story includes a dog too and it is a very good touch to the story. Our child gravitates towards animals in books. The story line is very easy to follow and easy to read. I wish there was a board book for this though.

i bought this book for my 6 yr old niece because she loves mermaids and this book is full of objects that she can point out and name. the colors are so vibrant and its a really good quality book! there was one reviewer who said they didnt like the book because it made sharks out to be scary and i also dont agree with making children afraid of sharks because 100s of millions get murdered each year. however this is a juvenile fiction book. we have to explain to children that what they see in books and movies are people and animals that are exaggerated because when they grow up you wont be able to hide shark movies from them. the book is amazing!
