I don’t even know where to begin with this. First off, I bought a brand, new printer, what I received was a clearly used printer. The box was ripped, torn, Dunson dings all over and poorly re-taped. To make it even worse, I opened the box, what immediately fell out were the wrappers that we were supposed to go to the ink cartridges. The ink was missing, the cord was missing, I ended up buying more ink in a new cord to try and get this to work because I desperately needed a printer. Setting this up is nearly impossible. You print with it connected to Wi-Fi, the problem is when you go to print, all of a sudden the Wi-Fi goes out and the printer option disappears. So you can’t print. JUNK!!

Don't Listen to the Bad Reviews!

I am befuddled as to why this printer got such terrible reviews....So glad I decided to try it out myself and did not listen to the naysayers! First of all, the set up was quick, easy, and seamless via the HP app! Secondly, you get 4 months of free ink with the trial for purchasing the product. Third, the printer is lightweight and there is no putting it together. This printer is not for large printing or mass orders. But it works perfectly for small, home or school use. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I was unaware that it did not do duplex printing (print front and back).

Do not buy this printer, it will work at first then they tell you that the printer won't work unless you have an HP ink subscription and your not allowed to use the ink that comes with the printer.

Unfinished Product

The only reason for giving even one star, is because it's the only way to leave a review. Quality control that is too offensive for words. Right out of the box, this thing came with no top. They actually packed and shipped an item that had zero capabilities. Words fail. Picture, above.

Good printer on a cheap price

When I ordered this printer I did not check the reviews since I was in a hurry in getting a printer. Only after I placed my order I saw the reviews and see all the hate for it. I even went to social media to see what people thought of it and it was a lot of hate for it and how terrible it was which made me super worried that I spent money on something that didn't even work. I was close to canceling my order but decided to give it a try since I did not have much to spend.

When it arrived the packaging was fine and the printer was in great condition. Setting it up was quite easy for me and simple since everything was through the app. I printed a few papers first to see how it goes and it went smoothly, no jam, it doesnt take long to process only a few second, the printing is fast, and the copy scanner works well too.

I saw some terrible review about the ink consumption being so bad that it runs out of ink in just a day with few papers. So far I have printed around 100 papers in a day and the printer also shows how much ink is left and even after 100 papers it has not gone down a lot, unless you are printing more than 100+ papers for a lot of times.

Overall this printer works really good for me and it is enough for someone like me who is a college student and its budget friendly too so I would give it a shot.

Worst ever. Do not buy. Doesn’t stay connected won’t even turn off and goes thru $60 cartridges after only a few homeschool papers.

Really slow printer

This is the slowest printer I’ve ever had in my entire life. I updated quality to the lowest settings, and have fiber WiFi.

I would recomend looking at something different if more than one minute a page is a problem for you.

Great

I was skeptical at first the beating on whether or not to purchase this printer, due to the negative reviews. However, it did not disappoint!

The printer, is relatively easy to set-up. On your smart phone download the HP app, which is free of charge and will walk you through a step-by-step process, for a successful set up. The app also lets you see current ink levels, along with advanced printing options. Inserting the ink cartridges, is relatively simple and comes with a three month warranty, of free ink upon completion of set up.

The quality of the printing is like having a staples in your own home. It’s compatible with your phone laptop or whatever electronic device allows you to print. While printing, it does make it’s anticipated noise however while idle, it’s silent.

Overall, I bought this computer for online college classes. However, it’s also a great use for a home office. So far, it has not disappointed me! Lastly, this printer is affordable, and worth the price and quality.

The HP printer review

When I got my new HP printer I opened it put the ink cartridges in the printer connected to my WiFi automatically I scans the bar code poked a couple things paired my phone where I had a PDF and in 5 minutes I done printed the book I love my printer and would recommend it to anyone it’s so easy to set up and use the printer enrolled me in automatic ink refills.

Decent Printer

This HP DeskJet 2955 was relatively easy to set up. Connecting the printer wirelessly to my computer was also easy to connect, I do not have the printer too far from the computer so that its connects fine. The printer prints out fast and good quality. It is a good printer for the cost and easy to use. I will see how the printer hold up over time.

It's awesome! I did have a little bit of a bump in setting up, but i'm pretty sure it's cause i'm dumb lol. I got this printer to use for school and it's come in really handy! Everything prints perfect and in correct color.

Speedy, moderately noisy, good quality printing

This is a solid printer, but it does have its negatives. In my opinion, it's pretty noisy; its noise level is definitely higher than our last printer.

The setup was easy from my phone. It required me to download an app and then simply follow the prompts. The steps were clear and concise. The set up for a laptop was not so easy. I was determined to do this entire process myself because while I am not a computer person, I'm certainly not an idiot and the whole process should be doable for your average person. To connect the computer to my phone, it was exactly that - straightforward and simple. I spent about 25 minutes trying to figure out how to install it on my laptop and was unsuccessful. I had to enlist the help of my husband who has worked with computers for 30 years. That's nuts. Granted, my laptop was certainly part of the problem, but I should have been able to troubleshoot with HP's app/website to figure that out. Nothing about the laptop installation was straightforward. I like having my printer connected to my phone, but more often than not I print from my laptop. In my opinion, the fact that the easy setup isn't primarily for a laptop or desktop is a big drawback.

The print quality is excellent and printing is delightfully quick. The scanner is also super quick and the copy quality was excellent. I don't know how fast it's going to go through ink as we've just installed the printer, but I can say that the push to get you to sign up for their "Instant Ink" program with "3 months free!" is relentless. They want to track your ink consumption and your page usage and then send you ink (by charging your saved credit card) when they decide you need it. Absolutely no thank you. But the thing that really irked me about the whole ink thing was that when the app, installed on my phone, needed to send me a verification code - IT SENT IT TO THE PRINTER AND PRINTED IT. That is SO not ok. Not only did it waste my paper, but it wasted the ink that they want to replace for me. Really not cool, HP.

The current price of this printer/scanner is $89.99. Given that it does do both of those functions, I think that's fair. Like most small appliances and devices these days, it feels inexpensive. The plastic it's made of isn't thick or sturdy. The connection pieces feel flimsy and when you open and close doors and props, they make a rattle-y noise. It's not built to last, but right now it's working great.

Printers are constantly improving. HP is the main player in the printer game and this little printer is on TOP! I used to have a huge laser print that cost a fortune and ink was like taking out a small loan. I wanted something more compact and AFFORDABLE! what really impressed me was the new app. I was able to send from my phone to the printer. As well as scan and save to the app. Really cool. I have not had an opportunity to use the AI feature but that looks really smart.

Great Price, Easy to Hook Up

First thing I want to say is that upon opening the box, I was really happy to find that this printer is packed in cardboard only. It did have a thin plastic wrap on it, but the packing is all cardboard. I’m not sure if the cardboard packing is recycled, but it appears to be. Additionally, it says on the box that the actual printer is made with 70% recycled material. This is a good start.

Second impression- The printer is surprisingly light. Very easy to lift and place.

I have struggled in the past with not being able to use printers wirelessly. This was one of the reasons I got this new printer.

Hooking the printer up was simple and easy.

There is an HP app that is optional. Connecting the printer to my internet was effortless through the app.

I can now print from my phone which I have never been able to do before. I’m pretty excited about having a new printer that I don’t have to struggle with. I set the print quality to low, which was fine.

The $69 price tag is extremely affordable.

I should mention that they’re pushing a system where you pay monthly for ink based on usage and they just mail it to you. I’ve opted out of that because the timing of my printer use is very erratic and I don’t want a monthly bill when I will not necessarily be using the printer.

Excellent All-in-One Printer for Home Use

I am extremely pleased with this HP DeskJet printer! Setup was quick and easy, and I had it connected to my Wi-Fi and printing from my phone and laptop within minutes. The print quality is crisp and vibrant, whether I’m printing colorful craft designs, important documents, or everyday paperwork.

I’ve been using this HP all‑in‑one printer for everyday tasks, and it handles basic printing needs well. It’s a straightforward machine that’s easy to operate, whether I’m printing simple documents, scanning a page, or making a quick copy. The LCD control panel is intuitive, and the 60‑sheet tray is enough for light home use. Wireless printing has been reliable—dual‑band Wi‑Fi connects quickly and stays stable, which makes printing from my phone or laptop much easier. The print speeds are modest, but perfectly fine for to‑do lists, letters, and household paperwork. One feature I’ve found surprisingly useful is the HP AI formatting; it cleans up web pages and emails so they print without odd spacing or wasted pages. Overall, it’s a practical, easy‑to‑use printer for everyday color and black‑and‑white jobs, especially if you want something simple that covers printing, copying, and scanning in one unit.

QUALITY PRINTING ON A BUDGET

The most striking thing about this HP 2955 Printer beyond the quality of its printing is the economical price point. Over the years I have spent multiples of the price of this printer for no better or not as good results. It is HP quality through and through and I have no doubt it will produce thousands of pages for a good long time.

Packaging was great with all recyclable cardboard, and no annoying foam. Starter printer cartridges are included, along with an enclosed offer for "lifetime" supplies.

All functions work as expected, including wireless printing, plus document scanning, and copying.

This may not be the most sophisticated printer in the HP lineup, but it will get the job done and be ready for the next.

Compact and Perfect

I was excited for this printer, as although everything is digital nowadays, there’s things that I still like to print. I have many uses for it such as printing tax documents, travel papers, and receipts.

The printer is smaller, and doesn’t take up a lot of space. It came with two print cartridges. It’s super easy to get it up and running. The print is clear and just what I needed. Love that it’s a copier too and simple to use! I replaced my huge, clunky printer for this one because it’s so effortless.

Some may not like having to replace printer ink every three months but truly I don’t use it enough and mine won’t need to be replaced that often. It’s an uncomplicated, as needed printer for casual home use-just exactly what I wanted. I really like it because it’s modern.
