IF YOU'RE IN THE MARKET FOR HIGH-QUALITY LIGHT FIXTURES WHICH INCLUDES A FAN, YOU CAN'T BEAT "HUNTER" BRAND TO GIVE YOU STYLE AND EFFICIENCTY ALL IN ONE PRODUCT. THESE CEILING FANS ARE HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL, THEY'RE QUIET, THE LIGHTING IS BRIGHT AS CAN BE AND THEY LOOK BEAUTFUL, SO MUCH SO THAT IT GIVES THE ROOM A HIGH-CLASS UPDATE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND. (NO REMOTE INCLUDED/THE ONE I PURCHASED WERE MANUALLY OPERATED).

A unicorn

Fit several hard to find criteria that I was looking for

1) can add an extension pole for my tall ceilings

2) can use my own led lightbulbs - so I can get the color I want

3) can use both light and fan switches on the wall

4) has a modern look for a white fan

Very Slow First Speed

My old fan had 5 speeds which obv offered more variations. This has 3 speeds which I knew, however the lowest speed I think could be a tad faster.

The blades on the lighter side are not like a blonde wood but are driftwood gray.

These fans are quiet, and the pull chains have cute icons to say which is the light and which is the fan.

Electrically simple and traditional, but with a modern design.

I had very specific needs for my ceiling fan and this met them perfectly. I wanted tunable color temperatures, and the ability to easily control the fan via a wall switch with speed adjustments. Most modern fans have a wireless remote which is not trivial to bypass, and many have built-in LED light fixtures that are set to a specific color temperature. In terms of its electronics, this is a very traditional fan, with pull-cord controls, but it works well with a wall-mounted speed adjustment switch too. That was exactly what I wanted but it may not be the right choice if you're looking for something with modern features like a wireless remote.

This fan is very low-profile as far as fans with a downrod go, but is still just barely workable in a room with 8-foot ceilings. At a height of just over 6 feet, the bottom of the light is just slightly above my head. The pull cords do hang down enough that a 6-foot-tall person will hit them if it's an 8-foot tall room. That said, a good pair of bolt cutters can trim them down to a shorter length if needed. I had wall switches so I didn't need the pull chains. There is a "low profile" version, but it is only a fraction of an inch shorter than this one is when using the shorter downrod, and the downrod allows for better vibration dampening and, in my opinion, looks better. So even with 8-foot ceilings I recommend the downrod version.

The fan blades are reversible - I don't recall seeing this mentioned in the item description. You have a lighter grayish color and a more traditional brown. Both look good and the flexibility is appreciated in case I ever paint the room a different color. The light kit takes two bulbs, which has its pros and cons. The need to accommodate bulbs means it isn't as compact as some similar models, but it gives the flexibility to alter the brightness and color temperature of the light cheaply and easily. One thing to note, the two light sockets are only rated for 24 watts. This means that you absolutely cannot use incandescent or halogen bulbs in this lamp, but LED or CFL bulbs work great, even if you want brighter 100 watt equivalents. It does work well with a dimmer or with a fan controller that allows for speed adjustment and it does not have any noticeable hum at any speeds.

The only downside is the installation. It's not clearly labeled which of the hot wires is the fan and which is the light. We had to just guess. The mounting bracket also doesn't provide a way to hang the lamp while making electrical connections, so it's really a two-person job: One to hold it up near the ceiling and one to do the wiring. Assuming you have someone to hold it, the installation is really no different than any other fan.

Overall, this is a great fan if you want something that wires up in a very traditional way (perhaps due to personal preference or perhaps to replace an existing fan with wall controls) but with a modern look. It works well, looks good, and performs exactly as you need it to.

Difficult at best

Yhos fan is nice looking. However, it is bear to put together. I've installed several fans, and this was the worst. After a few hours, it was ready to try. The light worked; when I pulled the chain to turn on the fan, it worked. It was a little noisy. When I tried to turn the fan down, the lights dimmed. When I pulled the chain again to the lowest fan setting, the lights started blinking rapidly off and on. With the fan off, lights returned to normal operation. I don't have the energy to try and troubleshoot it. The thought of breaking it down to return is painful. But it's not useful in its current state. 😕

Looks like the Michelin man.

Easy to install. It’s just kind of a bubble looking thing on the ceiling.

Nice Fan, not easily installed

This is a beautiful fan that operates well. Installation is straightforward and the instructions are good. The most difficult part is mounting the light kit (I ordered and installed two of these fans) and installing the second light kit was every bit as difficult as the first. Mainly, it's necessary to insert 3 very small screws through a tangle of wires and connectors in order to properly secure the light kit. Another suggestion; pre-purchase LED bulbs unless you want the provided fluorescent bulbs.
