Very quiet as someone who is sensitive to sounds

Love love love! I am very sensitive to sounds when I am try to sleep and this fan is super super quiet. Easy install. We had two people to install just to hand things up so it would go a little bit faster. Great style. Came with all the necessary parts, including lightbulbs. It came with wood screws and metal screws for installation, depending on what you have for installing. I would buy again! Very well packed and I felt it was high-quality. Great value for money and good sizing.

Easy to install and BRIGHT lighting!

My husband had never installed a fan before. He did this rather easily. We love the look and the fan works great. We had a fan in this room already, but it had a globe that covered the lights. It simply did not seem like enough lighting since it was going in a studio room for myself to work in. I purchased this fan, hoping that it would brighten up the room with the way the lighting fixture on it was placed. Oh my goodness talk about bright! It came with three lights, but I had to get some bulbs that were actually a little dimmer. I bought it for more light, but my goodness! It was too much light! I am so happy with this purchase and now that I have the bulbs that suit my lighting needs everything is perfect. It also has two blade color options. I chose the lighter color option, but it also has a dark brown option that you could face downward if you prefer that look.

Fits perfectly in smaller space

Simple, bright lighting but expensive for a ceiling fan.

Think twice - poor blade mount design and customer support

Bought several of these for our house, mainly because of the 3 bulb design that would provide needed light for our spaces and I had a good experience with a prior Hunter ceiling fan.

Fan looks nice overall and runs quiet, but the tool-less fan blade attachment design is terrible. Instead of the fan blades screwing onto the fan arms, Hunter went with a tool-less design where the fan blade (which has three holes with rubber grommets installed) is pressed through 3 posts to secure the fan. Seemed quick and easy initially.

Days after installing these fans, I noticed pretty bad wobbling in the first unit when the fan was running - that's when I noticed that one of the fan blades had already worked it's way loose from the back post and was only being help on by a couple posts and was now causing the fan to be out of balance. The weight of the fan blade cantilever is too much for these fan posts to hold. The other blades where also in the process of working back up past the post head.

I looked at the other units I'd already installed and found the same thing already happening. Obviously pretty frustrating after the time and money spend. I reached out to Hunter support via chat and they told me I had to email the support email address. I've emailed multiple times in the last couple months and never heard back, so I gave up on their support. I was under the assumption that the support quality would be on par with their instruction manuals, but I was wrong.

Instead of taking all the fans down and going back to the search, I went to the hardware store and looked around for a solution to secure the fan blades to the posts. I settled on 1/4 hitch pins. I bought a bunch of those, took the fan blades down from each fan unit and secured the rear fan slot/post with a hitch pin. So far that seems to work and I haven't had wobbling issues or noticed any of the blades working loose again. Maybe the hitch pins will work for you too if you find the same issue.

I'm certainly going to think twice before going with Hunter in the future given this experience. I hope Hunter reads this and re-evaluates this terrible design and their lack of responsiveness to customers. It's not hard to imagine one of these fan blades just coming loose and nailing someone in the face - it's certainly a safety risk with these units and any others than use this tool-less attachment design.

Loved it so much I bought another

The look and quality of this fan is top notch. Cute farmhouse style. Easy install with straightforward directions. I am definitely not an electrician but installed both of these fans (one 52” and one 42”) without incident. I may purchase more to replace other old fans in the house. Great product!

Easy Install

I've been installing ceiling fans for a long time, and this was one of the easiest jobs I've ever done. Most fan blades have to be screwed onto the metal arm that connects to the fan, but they now have rubber stoppers on the fan blade, and you plug it in. The only issue I had was the canopy, but it was great once I figured out how to put it up and twist it to fit the groove. Free up both my hand so I could put the screws in the canopy to hold it up. The only pain is connecting the first screw on each fan blade to the fan. Wish they could put a rubber washer on one screw hole to hold it in place. Pain going up and down a ladder to retrieve the screw. I put this in my office because I needed more light, and this one puts out a lot of good light.

Beautiful fan great value

My contractor noted how easy this was to install. I just moved into this rental and the fan that was there was probably 30 years old! This completed the look of my dining room, nice fresh, clean, and Modern! I’m very happy with my purchase.

LOUD as hell

Can't express how disappointed I am in this particular fan. Aesthetically, it looks great. But from a noise perspective it is horrible! The video starts out with the fan running on the second speed. At about the 20 second mark it is started on high. The fan is at the top of a 17' vaulted ceiling and even sitting in the living room on the first floor with the TV on, you can still hear the hum. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to remove it in time to meet the return window. I knew purchasing this model that it was not one of Hunter's "whisper quiet" models, but I certainly didn't think it would as loud as it is. I have two of their whisper quiet models in both upstairs bedrooms and they are fantastic.

Hunter makes a great fan

I've installed a number of fans over the decades and they keep getting easier to do. This one was a breeze to install. The wiring is flexible, too. In my case, I already had the wiring to a light dimmer switch and a fan speed control on the wall, and it all works perfectly, controlling both fan speed & light brightness. But if you only have one switch-or no switch, it can handle that too and you'll just use the pull chains. We didn't use the blubs that come in the box, choosing some 60W equivalent (6W) 3000K Edison bulbs that look great and also are very bright at full blast. Sometimes my wife wants a lot of light on those dark winter days and this amps it up like a bright operating room. And these bulbs look perfect in there as seen in the pic. The blades are reversible and we chose to see the white side and not the wood grain.

We've had it a month now and it's very quiet, moves air nicely and is vastly superior to the 20-year-old builder-grade fan that it replaced. We're very happy with this and we wonder, why didn't we replace it sooner?

A great way to upgraded your room's look. Fan was also easy to install

A nicely made, quiet, efficient, and great looking fan that is easy to install. The installation manual guides you through the process makes this fan easy to install. It took me a couple of hours to take the old fan off and to install this fan by just reading the manual and watching a couple of general fan installation videos online.

The fan's lights have an off and on chain switch that you simply pull to activate them on and off. There is no variation on this fan to allow you to leave some of the lights on. They're either on or off. The bulbs were included. The fan's speed is also adjusted by pulling a chain switch. This fan has three speeds. There's a switch for reverse fan rotation for cold temperatures. A great looking fan that will compliment almost any room's look.

Beautiful fan

Beautiful fan, straightforward install, and very quiet. I have a different brand wireless switch with dimmer and fan speeds, and it works seamlessly with it. The mounting bracket that comes with the fan allows for the switch receiver to slide in. Colors - the metal is a very dark grey pearl, almost black. The reversible blades are either light grey washed look or a darker walnut with neutral grey undertones (metal color in the close-up pic is overexposed - it is darker).

Disappointed - Light Kit Twists, Blades Sag, Visible Blade Iron Posts - Makes This Fan Look Cheap

Two have brushed nickel housing, and one has white. These fans were installed on the second level of our home, where the ceilings are 8'.

I hired a master electrician to do the installation. He did the installation correctly and used all required screws. Upon completion and inspection, my first reaction was total disappointment. First, when looking at the fan from across the room, I can easily see the protruding "blade iron posts" on the top of each blade. Each blade comes with three rubber grommet holes, and the blade iron posts on the blade arms are snapped into these grommets instead of being screwed in. There is no way to adjust the fit on these, they just snap in and that's it. When looking at these blade iron posts from above (see photo), they appear to be Phillips head screws. That said, these are factory installed to the blade arm and there is no way to tighten them. There is play in the grommet closest to the motor housing, and this causes the blades to sag. While this does not affect the operation of the fan, it’s one of the first things I noticed. Hunter has chosen to go with this snap on design for its blades, and there is no way to adjust them to eliminate the sag, nor is there a way to minimize the unsightly blade iron posts that protrude through the top of each blade.

Now for the light kit installation. Initially, there are three screws that attach the light kit to the motor housing. Once the electrical is pulled through the center of the light kit and connected, the entire light kit housing is then secured to the exterior of the motor housing by three additional screws. All 6 screws were used and tightened. If you watch my video, you can see that the entire light kit jerks when the fan is turned on to the highest speed, and it jerks again when it is lowered from the highest speed. There is no light movement when the fan is turned from Off – Level 1, or Level 1 – 2. But Level 2 – 3 and then Level 3 – 2 there is a jerking motion. Also, there is slight movement from Level 2 – 1. This movement is most pronounced on the brushed nickel model, and less so on the white version although it is still visible. Additionally, I purchased a Hunter Crestfield 52” fan with down rod mount directly from Hunter, and there is no movement of the light fixture on that model. The problem appears to be specific to the low-profile models.

The Hunter Crestfield models do not come with remote controls, so I purchased separate multifunction remote model 99770 for each. As with the fans, there was disappointment with the remotes. They are functional, but nothing to write home about. Look up the product page for “Hunter 99770” to see my review of the remote control.

Another less than stellar first impression: I noticed that one of the light fixtures made a slight buzzing noise when I turned the lights on. That’s a deal breaker for me, so I did some research to find out that it could be the dimmable bulbs that were included with the fan. Each fan includes (3) A15 Longstar 7W, 600 Lumen, 3000K dimmable LED bulbs. The box lists these as a 40W equivalent. Since these weren’t bright enough for me, I decided to swap them out to see if that would also fix the buzzing noise. Unless you buy light bulbs often, the process is not very easy nowadays. After doing some research, I determined that I prefer 2700K soft white vs. 3000K, which is slightly closer to the daylight end of the spectrum. On the fan’s light fixture, the maximum wattage for each fixture is 14W, so I knew there was room for improvement. I ended up going with an A19 60W equivalent, and thankfully, this solved the buzzing noise. The bulbs are bigger, but they still look okay in the glass shades.

Each fan does emit a slight hum when turned on, but it’s not overbearing, and I feel it’s something that I will get used to once the fan has been turned on and running for a while.

On the plus side, these fans move a lot of air. When turned to the highest setting, it’s incredible how much you feel it. That being said, turning the fan to the highest setting also causes the light fixture to jerk, so there is the constant reminder and aggravation. As I mentioned, the lights can be upgraded all the way to 14W, so there is plenty of light to go with a lot of air movement. These are the two primary functions of this ceiling model, and both work very well and serve the purpose.

Overall, I would give this model 2.5 stars. No remote included, protruding blade iron posts, sagging blades, and a light fixture that moves cheapens the appearance and operation of this ceiling fan. It does a great job at moving air and has the ability to accommodate bulbs all the way up to 14W. This model has so many positive reviews, and I hope this honest, objective review helps someone.

Love it!

I love this fan! It is beautiful and quiet. Kind of a country yet modern look. Would definitely buy again for another room. The colors of the blades to me did not quite match the original pics. But like them none the less.

Nice looking fan, well made, easy to install

I used our own glass bells. The clear ones are ugly.

I used our previous LED bulbs, not the ones in the box.

I did not have the problem of the 1* reviews that say the lights spin with the fan. They were secure and solid.

POSITIVE REMARKS

1. Its quiet, unlike my previous fan and its "ne-yit ne-yit ne-yit" noise. Primary reason of replacement

2. Mine was relatively balanced as is, without needing weights. HUGE plus.

3. It does look nice; my wife loves the rustic gray blades. She keeps staring at it.

4. Install relatively straight forward like most fans

NEGATIVE REMARKS

1. I'm tired of these manufacturers using a mount that "supports" itself against the ceiling drywall. A fan should never need this. If you want to stabilize a fan, you balance it. However, since the fan "hangs" in its mount by a single point, like it should, there really was no purpose in mounting against the ceiling drywall. I shimmed between the electrical box and the with washers so that my screws tighten up against the electrical box, and NOT so much the drywall ceiling.

2. The housing is like 30% bigger than it needs to be. Much bigger than the motor assembly itself. I suspect the housing is the same on this 42" fan and the 52" fans so when looking at the 42" fan, the housing is huge.

3. This fan isn't so compact for a standard height room. Looking at the design of the mount, down pole and housing; it could have been 2" higher up without so much wasted space. With my 8' walls, the max is about 6'3" before you bump the bells.

4. While the fan does look nice, it looks nicer in THEIR pictures. The clear glass bells don't look very good IRL either.

NEUTRAL REMARKS

1. The fan has a different system for mounting its blades. The arm presses into grommets. Haven't seen that before. I'm OK with it. It does save a little bit of time not having to bolt them together

2. In the past, there was always a rubber spacer between the fan arm and the motor. Not this time. Not sure if it matters?

3. Instead of numbered bags for the hardware, the instructions used symbols. One of those symbols was wrong. It was the bag of 10 screws with split washers for the fan blades. Bag has a whirl symbol on it.

END NOTES

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the fan. It took me about 1.5 hours to install. Nothing was difficult for a person who has done this a dozen times. I'm looking forward to its quiet operation and well balanced blades. That alone is a huge improvement. We are debating getting the same fan in 52" with the matte gray finish for one of the bedrooms. I'd have to order some bells for it though. The housing size should look more appropriate on a 52". Either that, or a more classic looking fan like our master bedroom has.

Sorry my pictures not so great

Horrible noise

Perfect fan!

We purchased this fan after re-doing our master and it is perfect! The size is great, I love the low profile, and it moves plenty of air. My favorite feature is the symbols on the pulls that distinguish fan from light. Installation went smoothly and it is well balanced. We couldn't be happier with this fan and would definitely recommend!

The fan seems to be heavy and of good quality unlike some you might get from the big box stores.

I did a lot of searching for the "right" light and fan fixture. Everything at the local stores seemed cheap and I had a hard time finding a light that suited me. This one fitted the bill as it uses normal light bulb socket bulbs and not the little base ones that just aren't bright enough. It doesn't have anything that might collect any insects like a bowl light would. I pulled down two fans that shook from being out of balance, were thirty years old from where I built my home thirty years ago and one of the lights was malfunctioning. These weren't quite as heavy (the motors) as my old ones but suprisingly were close. They aren't too noisy and are actually quieter than my old Bahama Breeze fans that had unbalanced over the years. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and wasn't expecting to be. It helps to have two people install them as one can hold parts in place while the other wires and attaches parts. My son was a handy participant.

Modern look, bright light & works perfectly for a low ceiling room

Needed a fan with regular bulbs but still modern looking, to replace my fan which had integrated LED that stopped working. We were concerned before buying if this style with open bulbs would be too low hanging for 8ft ceiling bedroom especially with a bed underneath. But we went ahead and after installing we are really happy. Because of clear glass doesn’t feel low and looks great. Chose the grey side for blades which matches perfectly with our modern white & grey theme. Gives bright light and have option to replace with other bulbs too if needed. Fan has good speed & not noisy. Easy to install, hardly took 45 minutes including removing the old fan for a professional guy.

Stylish and quiet fan !

Love the brand and fan is very stylish and easy to install . At the highest speeds, it stays quiet and lights are fairly bright too! Make sure to use the weights to balance the fan so it doesn’t wobble. Highly recommended

Attractive and Efficient

After shopping for the right ceiling fan in three different stores, I found nothing that met my requirements. I needed smallish, hugger fans for two small bedrooms and I didn't want dark, fake wood looking things with frilly globes on the light kit. I bought two identical, white fans to blend away on the ceiling. The light kit is not corny, it's contemporary and bright! It will be great on gloomy, winter days of which we have many. The fan is substantial and well made. The air flow is excellent and they are quiet, which I greatly appreciate in this noise polluted world. I hired a handyman to install them and he did so in about an hour and a half. Both rooms previously had ceiling fans (one broken, the other wimpy) so that did make the install easier for him.

Beginner install went great

Absolutely beautiful! We needed a really low profile fan. Now the tall guys in my family can walk through the room. This was my husband's first fan install and it went pretty smoothly! Quiet, cooling and super bright. Didn't even have to balance it. So happy with our purchase and we'll be putting the second one up really soon!

Great purchase

Really nice quality. Easy to assemble . Completely silent. Has two speeds medium and *extremely* high. The pullies have a picture of a light and a fan so you know which is which. There’s a switch to change rotation direction. Great purchase. Would buy again

Great Fan

Works great. I like that it’s small and not intrusive in my small space, but still gives a good breeze. There was a small gap between the top of the fan and the ceiling that we didn’t expect, but it still looks good. We had some help with the wiring because the room originally had no light or anything, but it was fairly easy other than that.

Quiet Powerful Fan with a Good Look

Powerful fan, easy to install, very bright light (light bulbs included). Nearly finished remodeling our kitchen and people compliment the fan first. The simple clear-glass fixture with wood-tone fan blades compliment our style and provides quiet powerful air movement with a choice of 3-speeds.

Perfect for a small bedroom!

This fan is extremely well made, easy to install, and looks very sleek. It’s the perfect size for our small bedroom and did not overwhelm the space like a larger fan would have. It’s also flush mount so it’s perfect for lower ceilings. We used the darker side of the blades but the light gray side looked amazing as well and l may decide to switch at some point. We have a second floor bedroom and the summers get very warm even with our central air on. This fan is exactly what we needed and makes sleeping so much more comfortable. Zero noise, bright light, and great air circulation. My 15 year old now wants one in her bedroom as well.

Easy Installation, and Great Looking Fan!

We purchased two of these fans for a combination living/dining room area. The 42" was just the right size. As others commented, the included bulbs can be a little bright, but we ended up using those bulbs anyways. We've always had good luck with Hunter fans, and these were no exception. One of the two had a slight wobble, but was easily corrected with the included balancing kit. We used the weathered grey side of the blades, and they look great with the coastal theme.

Wobbles

It wobbles on the highest setting. I have had 2 guys come out and they said its a lousy fan. Im so angry.

Great fan, no darker fan blade options

This fan works great. Super quiet, good output for being small. My only complaint is that I swore I saw other reviews and questions say there are two different color options and one of them is a lot darker. Well as you can see from my photo, they are very similar in shades.

Not worth returning but just a heads up to those thinking it may be darker.

Quiet & Lots of Light

We purchased this fan to replace a 20 year old model. We are so happy with our purchase!

It’s extremely quiet, almost no sound at all when on the highest setting. We were most pleased with the amount of light it puts out. We have a very large room and our previous fan/light still left the room a little dark. Not an issue anymore - our room is SO bright. I also really liked that the blades were reversible, so we could pick which finish matched our room/furniture best.

Better than the high end fans I’ve purchased in the past.

Excellent fans! We built our home last year and bought very expensive fans from another source that immediately made noise and stopped working shortly after or within months. I’ve been looking for almost a year to replace those and finally found these. I really wanted clear glass for simplicity. Bought in two different sizes from two different sellers and all are wonderful! SO wishing I would have started with these. They are quiet, excellent airflow, bright lighting. You can flip blades bark or light. We choose light to match our flooring.

Ours did not come with remotes but we knew those would need to be purchased separately.

Husband has never done electrical install on anything and replaced every one in our house by himself without a problem.
