Low Profile Option is Great
Let's start with - Why did I deduct one star:
Don't get me wrong I love Hunter brand ceiling fans. I believe in the quality of their products and am 100% satisfied with my purchase. In being real though, their ceiling fans can get a bit pricey compared to other options.
However, I always come back to them because of the look and the quality. Additionally, deduction due to not having a remote at this price point, when so many of their other fans do. I still 100% recommend this product if it is in your budget and if you are okay without the remote (which you may/may not be able to purchase separate - further research needed on my part).
We are the owners of several Hunter brand ceiling fans and have purchased their products for years. We have yet to encounter a problem with one regardless of age. We currently have ceiling fans in all bedrooms , living room, and outdoor space. However, our daughter had chosen a decorative light fixture for her room and recently decided that she too wanted a ceiling fan for added comfort while sleeping.
Why we chose this one. Mainly for the low profile option as our daughter has a 4 post bed which is below the light fixture. This option worked great with plenty of room to spare - 9ft ceilings.
We also like the look of the seeded glass and the color options. We do miss the added convenience of a remote. While shopping I did see that you can purchase remotes separately but, no knowledge of if they work with this model. For us it was not that big of a deal as we have two light switches and other led can lights in the room. She can leave the light off and just use the switch to turn the fan on and off. The pull chords are good quality and have pictures indicating light and fan. However, with 9ft ceilings and being 5’3” we are unable to reach the chords from the floor.
On other models we have that came with a remote, you are able to adjust fan speed and dim lights. We also have this fan installed with remote without the low profile option in another room.
Install was quick and easy if you have the knowledge. It does work easier if you have two individuals. One to support the fan while the other makes the connections. Edison bulbs came with the fixture.
Fan speeds are comparable to others. My husband likes to put it on high speed at night and I can get chilly even under the blanket. Good air flow. It is quiet and no issues with wobble. Installed tightly and securely. The light source is adequate but, I am very light dependent and can never make due with only the light of a ceiling fan. I prefer to use our LED can lights when light source is needed. Of course it could be made somewhat brighter by utilizing different bulbs.
