This is an amazingly beautiful fan, looks good, runs quiet, very good quality...but there is one issue....the wires coming out of the main assembly were only about 3 feet long!.....the extension pole that was recommended for this product was 4 feet. My electrician had to cut the wires from the old fan assembly and solder them to the new wires to make them long enough to thread through the extension rod and complete the wiring of the assembly to the control in the ceiling. He said he has NEVER seen wires for a ceiling fan so short. And I am unsure why Hunter would recommend an extension pole to be compatible with the fan, if it is longer than the wires supplied to thread through it. Hunter, please make your ceiling fan wired at least 2 feet longer!

When you spend the money on a premium fan you expect better.
My fan was brand new and factory sealed. Box was not damaged. My complaints center around the mounting bracket cap piece that fits over the ceiling mount and hides the wires. Mine had the screw mounting holes punched 90 degrees off from where they should be. On top of that, the 2 mounting screws for it were missing from the package. The cover piece is directional in that the hole in the middle that fits over the ceiling mount has a specific shape. It only fits properly over the ceiling mount one way. If you fit it properly, there is no way to secure it to the mount as the mounting holes are now 90 degrees off from where they should be. The attached photo shows what I'm talking about. You can see the cover doesn't properly cover the mounting bracket/ball, but that it would if you rotated it 90-degrees. But then the screw holes wouldn't line up. It doesn't look horrible but that's not the point.
As mentioned, the bracket cover mounting screws were missing from the package. They are #8 screws, by the way. I grabbed two from my parts drawer and painted the heads black with a Sharpie. You can't tell from 11 feet down on the floor.
I will say the instruction manual is excellent. Good illustrations and clear language. The packaging itself was also good. Thick styrofoam and the contents were well-protected. The fan itself is good quality. Motor is strong and quiet. Traditionally, Hunter brand fans are durable and dependable. Hoping that continues to be true.
Would recommend this fan, just be prepared that you may have to deal with some minor issues.

Purchased two of these for extra bedrooms. I already had two, which were installed by the builder in my bedroom and living room. The blades have two color options and the light fixtures provide exceptional lighting. I love how the bulbs are easily accessible when you need to change one. Each ceiling fan comes with four lightbulbs.

Description states "Energy-efficient dimmable LED light bulbs let you control the lighting..." but the bulbs received with the fan are not dimmable, so I have to buy a set of dimmable bulbs for an additional $16. Fan was somewhat difficult to install, since the fan bracket was larger than the one on the old fan I removed, so additional drilling was required to securely fasten to the ceiling. Fan is quiet and nice looking.

Much better than the old double fluorescent fixture that it replaced.
It did have a very slight wobble on the high setting but we only use the medium setting.
Very bright LED bulbs came with the kit that are perfect for a kitchen.

Nice fan, quiet, and we put it on a switch! However, the globe is very plain, and too big for the fan. It hides the fan blades hardware. I did buy a different shade, but it was difficult to find one just nine inches instead of 13”. The picture is with the smaller globe!

I purchased this Hunter fan to replace the ceiling fan in my study - we've been in this ten year old house for just over a year, and I was not happy with the fan or with the lighting it provided. It also was making some noise at high speed, suggesting that the motor bearings might be wearing out.
I chose this Hunter fan mostly because it includes a light fixture with 4 lamps pointing downwards into the room, and I thought that would provide the best choice for lighting. The fan diameter, 52", is the same as the fan it replaced.
I was impressed by the quality of the fan during installation - the assembly is intelligently designed to make it as easy as possible to install on the ceiling, the ceiling bracket has rubber bumpers where it fits against the ceiling, the fan blades are attached using rubber grommets, wiring is straightforward, and the packaging even includes a few extra parts as spares. Compared to the fan I removed, the assembly is considerably better designed. The fan blades are different shades of stain on the two sides so you can chose which one you prefer.
I have Philips Hue LED smart bulbs installed in my fan, giving me greater control over the lighting and at highest intensity the lighting in my study is just what I was looking for.
The fan itself is quiet and powerful, noticeably better than the older fan I replaced.
In all respects I'm fully satisfied with this fan and happy with the choice I've made.

In 2005 I bought a new home and installed six hunter ceiling fans. When I sold it in 2018, all six were still working flawlessly. The replacement home had ceiling fans in the master bedroom, living, & dining rooms & while they were not Hunters, they appear to have been working flawlessly since the home was built in 1993 & I'm not one to mess with success. For some reason the second bedroom was fan-less, so I installed this Hunter & as expected, it's working fine & the room is much more comfortable.
One not-minor install problem was there was no ceiling joist close to where the fan should be & the way my ceiling was designed, top access to install something strong was impossible. So I cut a hole in the ceiling, measured to the nearest ceiling joists, designed a support that rested on both joists & the ceiling drywall, slid it thru the expanded hole along with a lot of glue, & let it dry overnight. Should last as long as the house... Hunter has changed the ceiling bracket design & it is much easier to install. After the mount is screwed into the ceiling, one just sets the fan into it. It's well over 120F in my Phoenix AZ attic, so I'm waiting until December to run the permanent wiring...
7/18/2019 update: ran the permanent wiring in late November & now the installation looks professional. ...but the fan developed an annoying clicking noise. I took it apart, couldn't find anything that looked like the noise source, put it back together, & the noise was gone. Several months latter, it's back, & it's definitely annoying.
7/27/2019 update: called Hunter Warranty Service, they said this was covered under their lifetime warranty, all was needed was my name/address & a proof of purchase. Quick & easy. A whole new ceiling fan was shipped out that day, it arrived today, I replaced the motor (everything else was OK), put ticker in the box, & dropped it off at FedEx with the prepaid shipping label Hunter emailed. No Ticking. Hunter really believes in happy customers & I'm one of them.
7/15/2023 update: Still working flawlessly & no ticking!
2/15/2025 update: Still working flawlessly & no ticking!
Highly Recommended.

two canopy screws are missing. Electrician could not complete the installation without them.

Light delay!? WTF!!!! Really?? So, I spend 2 hrs installing the 5 minute light (my bad, not the fan's fault), and it looks lovely! Then I turn the light on...And it has a 2-3 second delay. I googled it. This is a KNOWN Friggin' problem. That's not okay, I have paid for $40 ceiling fans and the lights and fans turn on as they are supposed to.
Beautiful, QUIET fan. 2 second light delay? Unacceptable - that's why its 2 star review. I was going to install another one, but took that back. ugh. I have to wait before entering my own room. This is the best you can do?
Calling Hunter technical support: on the line for 15 minutes, still nothing.
Update 7/10/2014: Called Hunter. Spoke to a rep. She says they know this is an issue. I said can I speak to a supervisor, because that can't be okay. She immediately said,"well, we can send you a new switch housing unit that can get rid of that." So, they know its an issue, and instead of fixing the fan, they calculate that so many of us wont do anything, so they dont have to send out a working (and probably more expensive) working unit. Update your parts, send the write housing unit, and dont rely on people not having enough time or patience to call and press the issue to get a functioning fan.
