Okay so I was testing both this headset alpha 2 and the astro a50 gen 5. This headset is absolutely amazing!!! They beat the a50 in almost everything, sound, comfort, looks, (not mic). Ngenuity is absolutely garbage so I installed it,updated the headset and Uninstalled it. I use these with sonar and they sound absolutely amazing. The comfort is out of this world. Whatever microfiber pads they used need to be studied. The doc that it comes with works regardless of what program you use (sonar, ghub, ect). The mic is okay, not terrible. Works fine for gaming. I've had the steel series nova omni pros and the a50 gen 5s. This is the best way to go!
P.S. if you have a big head like i do,( the a50 gen 5 were maxed out and still little small & the nova omnis just are way to small) this is AMAZING.

The best wireless headset I've ever owned
When I say that the cloud alpha 2 is the best headset I've had I seriously mean it, and it's not just by a bit or by small margins no, this thing excels in every field. Not only is the thing completely made from stainless steel and aluminum making for superb build quality over every single headset I've ever had but it's battery life is simply insane, I got mine on the 13th of this month and have not had to charge it a single time since charging it out of the box. Additionally it's directional sound and audio quality itself is fantastic. whether it be for music, gaming, or movies this headset will provide excellent, personalized audio no matter the situation. The new ngenuity software has its flaws but the eq and surround sound editor is perfect to add a competitive edge or enhance your listening experience.
that being said I'd like to note some flaws the headset itself has as well as the software. I feel that to get the best from this headset you need to use the equalizer and spatial audio, requiring a lot of tweaking to find the profile you like. Additionally The hinges will pull your hair if you have long hair and the lack of forward movement in them may affect how the headset fits you. Another thing to be said is that the software is needed to use the headset with spatial audio, you cannot use 8 channel or 12 channel audio withoit having it open. And on the topic of 12 channel spatial is that I cannot get it to work in some games like rust or siege. Though the 8 channel is more than enough to gain a competitive edge.
Overall this headset is perfect for someone who values battery life, build quality, and personalization while being able to sacrifice some sound quality and positional audio quality. Though it is still a very competitive headset and a fantastic all rounder.

Such as: Multi layer 53mm dual chamber drivers. RGB base station with audio controls. Simultaneous 2.4 ghz & Bluetooth connection. Detachable 10mm boom mic and internal mics. The battery life is magnificent, and lasts 250 hours on a single charge. These are worth every penny!

Durability and quality of the sound
I don’t have words to say the hight quality that this headset have. The sound is incredible, is comfortable for the head and ears. If you want to play on the computer, you can personalize the streaming with the base. The think that I most liked is the durability of the battery 250 hours is amazing. Was a great choice to buy it.

Good headset with great build quality, but a few quirks depending on how you use it
This headset is solid overall. The audio quality is on par with other headsets in this price range. I have used a Corsair Void for years, so that is the baseline I am comparing it to.
For gaming, the physical mute button on the control panel works well. For work calls, especially in Microsoft Teams, it can be a little inconvenient because the mute only affects the microphone hardware and not the Teams application. My Corsair headset muted at both levels, so it was impossible to make a mistake. With this one, if Teams is using the wrong input device, I may think I am muted when I am not, which can get awkward fast.
Mic monitoring is another area where I prefer my old headset. This one does offer sidetone/mic monitoring, but it is much quieter even with the mic monitoring level set to maximum. It works, but it is not as strong as what I am used to.
The build quality is excellent. Both the headset and the control panel feel premium, and the headset is very comfortable even after long sessions. The adjustments for fit seem like it will work great for different head sizes. If you have only used budget headsets before, this one will feel like a big step up. I also appreciate that HyperX includes instructions for replacing the battery when it eventually wears out.
The control panel works, but not all the functions are very intuitive. I found myself checking the manual more than I expected. If you plan to use every feature, it may help to keep that page of the manual somewhere nearby.
A pleasant surprise was that the control panel worked when plugged into my Android phone. I could use all the same controls I get on my PC. The headset also connects to my phone directly through Bluetooth without the panel, which is convenient.
One thing I wish it had is the ability to use the control panel wirelessly through Bluetooth or a 2.4 GHz dongle. It must stay plugged into the computer, which is fine, but for the original price I expected a little more flexibility. The price has dropped since, so I am not holding that against it anymore from a review standpoint. At least it uses USB-C and includes good quality cables.
Overall, it is a well-built headset with very good sound and comfort. It has a few quirks with mic functions and controls, but if those do not bother you, it is a strong option.

Actually really decent headphones and controls. great for streaming
These headphones are pretty decent quality and provides good sound quality. I actually say with the additional controls that it is good for streaming as the controls are at your finger tips essentially. The thing I like about this product is the size. The headphones are essentially the same as more other hyperx headphones. They can easily fit around your ears and cancel out majority of the surrounding nose. This really helps with things like streaming and such. The headphones provides pretty clear sound. I do like how it has given me a decent gameplay experience. In terms of weight, the headphones are pretty light and the material of the frame is good but the PU leather that is provided has cracked and chipped really easily which is annoying. It is a pain to replace. I do like that It does not have mesh or cloth foam for the ear cushions so hair and lint are not attracted to it. The material does make it extremely nice for fitting and comfort. If you sweat though it does rub against your skin and may contribute to the wear down of the PU leather. The sound can be adjusted via a volume button on the controls. The controls are relatively easy to get used to considering you can see them. They do act as the receiver as well. There is also an on off button so you can switch the headphones on and off. Like a pair of shoes, you have got to break the headphones in for a few hours. It will hug your head pretty tightly for a few hours. This device does take a few hours to charge (average of about two to three hours). It lasted me up to 26 hours of gameplay. It did sometimes hits 30, but average was around 26 hours. Even after a few recharges, it still holds pretty strong to that number which is good considering. The charging cable is also pretty long so you do not have to worry about having a short cable but you can use your own cable if needed. It does not have to be the one they provided and you can use your own. The charging time can vary based on the medium you are using. I found the best results to be a direct connection to the wall versus the computer USB ports. The sound quality is really good as well. It has surround sound and you can control the sound on the headphones themselves. The microphone can be removed if needed. It definitely picks up my voice very easily and clearly. There is an external wind guard to help reduce picking up ambient noise. Although I do like having this, the windguard cover actually wears out and becomes loose overtime. It fell off a few times and just not as tight as it used to be. When the microphone is removed, the headset does not pick up any sound so it is one way to mute the device. The device is also very easy to adjust in my opinion to make it definitely feel pretty comfortable. The black color is basic but you do not see the dirty and grim marks as easy. I would still you should wipe it down with a towel or something after every use. Back to the microphone, it can be adjustable to be closer or further from your mouth. It has a clear voice and did not have any issues so far but make sure it is plugged in all the way. You can adjust the sensitivity however you like. The USB controller is a small device but it is easy to press and control. It is RGB enabled to light up the controls to make it easier to see. It is already paired so you do not have need to do anything of that. The buttons so far as pretty simple and easy to press. The distance from your headset is pretty decent. I was able to go about 15 feet or so before the signal started cutting in and out and this was through walls. Overall these hyperx headphones do a great job with quality and performance. They need to do a better job the PU leather material they are using as it cracked way too easily. The wireless connection is very strong and the sound quality is AMAZING. I like the USB controller and receiver. It makes streaming on twitch so much easier with the controls at your finger tips rather than on your head. It is definitely a product I would recommend for anyone who wants a decently gaming headset.

They work great, I loved them!
This wireless gaming headset is a true marvel. With its 53mm dual-chamber drivers, the sound quality is impressive, delivering an immersive experience that truly makes a difference in gameplay. The battery life, up to 250 hours, is exceptional, allowing me to enjoy long gaming sessions without worry. The design is sleek in black, and the RGB base adds a modern and attractive touch. Furthermore, the ability to connect simultaneously via 2.4GHz and Bluetooth is a huge advantage, facilitating seamless transitions between devices. They are incredibly comfortable to wear, even for extended periods, thanks to their ergonomic design. I highly recommend these headphones to anyone looking for quality, comfort, and style all in one package.

No issues so far very great for my gaming needs
It’s a great experience when unboxing. Premium feel! It sounds very good. I play mainly PVP games and this works very well for those type of gaming. I am currently using it with the cord, plugged right into my PC and it works very well. Sound clarity is very nice. I can hear footsteps all around, pretty immersive. Feels very light on my head, my other headset was pretty heavy and gave me some headache problems but this one does not do that sometimes I forget it’s on my head and I go to walk away from my desk and I accidentally yanked the cord on my PC lol that’s probably just a user problem. The wireless connection works I just want to use it like this because I quickly switched over to my MacBook for video editing. It’s very easy to use especially the dock it’s a plug-in play. My PC recognized it pretty quickly. I had no issues setting it up. The build quality is very nice as well and when you put on the headset, it blocks out a good amount of noise I have no problems at all. I really enjoy it. Highly recommend.

These headphones have spoiled me.
I suffer from severe TMJ, and it has been years since I have been able to wear ANY headphones for longer than 10-20 minutes without aggravating it. These headphones are the very first and only ones I've found to allow me to listen for several hours straight, without aggravating my TMJ at any point. I do get minor head soreness after extended wear, but that's more a me thing than the headphones, I think. The clamping force is not tight at all on any one given spot, very evenly distributed and feels superbly comfortable.
The sound quality is FANTASTIC. I've attached a photo of my particular EQ, because I have hyperacusis as well, meaning I'm hypersensitive to sound, specifically high pitch frequencies. I've been using some premium earbuds for a long time now, and these headphones have made them, by comparison, sound tinny and awful. There's such a smoothness and richness to the sound, with plenty of range within the settings within the app. Spatial Audio, while a work in progress at the moment, is still wonderful.
Speaking of the app, I've experienced no bugs or issues with it, besides that it needs to be running for your custom EQ to take effect, and that when you close the app, your custom wheel color for the remote turns to default. The media control buttons' colors, however, which are individually adjusted, remain when you close the app. I will note that when these are connected, I can ONLY use the remote wheel to adjust my computer volume. That's another small nitpick. So volume control is limited to the remote. Also the background process does use a fair bit of memory for the "NGENUITY" software it utilizes.
These have excellent clarity, even at my subdued settings. The build quality is phenomenal, with them feeling weighty but not overly so. Very sturdily built and feel very premium and built to last. The battery life is also incredible, I haven't had to charge them a single time so far since receiving them and it's been at least a couple weeks (with light use). In fact, I think they've maybe moved ~20-30% battery across several days of use, one day for 5 straight hours with no breaks, and often at least a couple hours.
The ear cup material is soft and comfortable as well. Not scratchy at all. A little warm? Sure, likely, but I keep my apartment temperature at 58-60° F year round, so that's not a con for me. If it is for you, take that into consideration.
With such easy to use software and the wide range of customization features, not to mention the build quality and genuinely impeccable sound quality and comfort, these are easily the best headphones I've ever personally owned, and my last pair years ago were the Sony XM4s. For music, for my gaming sessions, for video watching, for everything, just perfect in my opinion. Would 1,000% recommend these cans! I can't dock the software for being a work in progress, nor do I feel anyone should forego excellent headphones just because of it.

Wireless Gaming Headset with Strong Battery Life
This headset offers a comfortable fit with padded ear cups that surround the ears without pressing too tightly. The materials feel sturdy, and the headband adjusts smoothly. The black finish gives it a clean, understated gaming look.
The dual-chamber drivers deliver clear audio separation, making in-game sound cues easy to distinguish. Wireless performance stays stable without noticeable dropouts during extended play sessions. The ability to switch between Bluetooth and the 2.4GHz connection adds flexibility for different devices.
Battery life is a standout feature. It lasts through long stretches of use without needing frequent recharging. The included base station provides a neat resting place and adds convenience when storing the headset after sessions.
Overall, this headset performs well for gaming, media, and general listening with dependable comfort and clarity.

Quality headphones
Comfortable to wear for hours at a time. Range works from the office to the kitchen of our apartment when I need a refill. The surround sound function allows me to have an immersive experience. One cautionary note, read the directions. I spent 30 minutes staring at the wires before reading. Then I realized it is just plug in the base to USB and pop on the headphones. I felt silly how easy it was. Overall these are very high quality and functional headphones and I am so excited to have selected these.

Very Solid Headset, Somewhat Pricey for its Gimmicky Add On...
This wireless Headset from HyperX is quite comfortable, very well put together, offers decent sound quality, versality on what it can be used with and an EPIC battery Life. However, the value for money is lacking slightly and there are some issues with things offered.
First off I am not a stranger to HyperX's headsets, in the past I have bought a couple of these headsets (wired Hyper Cloud X's) and they were extremely solid in all aspects, especially in the durability. So when I seen this wireless HyperX Cloud headset I got it with extreme confidence knowing I was going to get a moderately high quality experience overall. When I got these I was excited, because finally I had what would be a "awesome" headset from a company I got from before, and this is what I have to say about this product.
The quality of the build strong, the materials solid and clean looking, all to be expected. The visual appeal of the headset is overall nice looking, but to me a little splash of color (like some RGB lights) would've helped, but that's just me. The earbuds soft and very comfortable, and they relatively keep cool so your ears don't get too steamy. The sound quality is crisp and clean, while the noise cancelling capabilities are good. The mic quality is good, was able to talk to friends over the microphone without hassle or issues. The headset itself was able to connect to my PC effortlessly, which is especially true with the base station connected to the computer. The Bluetooth connectivity worked as expected when I connected the headset to my phone. However, I did have to hardwire the headset to both my Xbox One X console and Nintendo Switch in order for it to work with those devices, but the headset did function fully though as it did on the computer, audio and voice communication.
The RGB base station looks good with it's RGB lights inlaid in its spin dial along side with it's color lit buttons beneath the dial. The thing that surprised me was that as soon as I plugged in the base station my headset soon after connected to it, nearly eliminating the pairing process. The functions that the base station all work, and the ease of having a dial to change the volume for you headset is a nice touch, along side with a quick touch tap sensor to mute your mic; functions that usually are done with touching the mic at your finger tips on your desk. The other buttons also nifty, like the mute button that mutes the audio from the headset and the "pause/play" button that controls media (such as Youtube). The base station out of the box does have a preset equalizer of three options, to customize more to our liking you must download and install the NGenuity App.
The NGenuity App is at best decent, it's in beta still (as of this review) and there are some issues with it. The biggest issue is that most of your customization that you do with either the headsets equalizer and the base stations lighting can only be done and active as long as the app is open. If you close the app all the settings will reset to factory default, which this is a bit annoying. Maybe in the future there will be an update to change that, but as for now that's how it is.
The more I think about the headset as a whole I come to find that, the base station is somewhat "gimmicky" than actually something needed. The headset itself Solid all around, but the base station, not really needed, and doesn't warrant the $300 price tag attached to this product. It feels that they tacked on $100 onto a headset that maybe could sell easily at the $200 price just for the base station, which again just feels to be a gimmicky add on. And not only that, the base station and headset don't really match too much, the only thing they have in common is that they have a black color. If the headset had maybe some RGB color lights, then maybe it would look more like it belonged with the base station. And lastly your offering a program that's in beta stage which is not really user friendly or saves customizations.
Overall, the headset is a very solid, it's quality is great overall in terms of sound quality, comfort, connectivity versatility and it's sleek black look. Though it's base station does offer a bit of utility, it's flashy RGB doesn't really match it's headset and the NGenuity app offered for customization is still in incomplete beta stage. If you don't mind paying extra for the somewhat gimmicky base station, then this headset should satisfy your needs.

Good Hardware, hamstrung by half-baked software and missing documentation
TL;DR: This product is priced like a flagship and has hardware to match; however, that flagship experience feels totally let down by incomplete software (as of Nov. 2025) and missing documentation. I would wait to buy until the software issues are addressed.
The HyperX Cloud Alpha 2, from a hardware perspective, is excellent. The build quality feels premium, with a metal-and-plastic hinge design that’s sturdy without being bulky or heavy. The earcups don’t fold, but they articulate enough for comfort, and the headband adjusts smoothly. Despite being a closed-back headset, I found them to be plenty breathable and the earcups are comfortable for glasses wearers.
The physical controls are well thought-out. Both the volume knob on the base station and the on-ear controls have a solid, tactile feel, and the base station itself doesn’t slide easily, whether or not you're using a desk mat. The RGB lighting is nicely customizable on the volume knob (pattern, brightness, etc.), but oddly, the six backlit buttons can’t be adjusted at all - either in terms of color or brightness. This is a bit of a bummer for a flagship product that has individually-addressable RGBs in the much-smaller ring around the volume knob.
Battery life is one of the headline features, claiming up to 250 hours. I don't have the lab equipment to verify that, but I can assure you the batteries last for a VERY long time! HyperX also advertises a user-replaceable battery, which would be a MAJOR plus for longevity and a huge right to repair win for a large company: however, I haven’t been able to locate replacement parts or documentation showing how to perform that swap. Right now, it feels more like a marketing promise than a supported feature, I would love to see HyperX make this a more concrete part of their value prop.
The headset supports simultaneous 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections, which works flawlessly in my testing. However, it can’t play audio over USB-C alone, which is worth noting for some use cases.
Audio quality is very good: balanced, full, and detailed. There’s no active noise cancellation, yet the passive isolation is decent. The boom microphone sounds clean and natural, while the built-in mic is serviceable for quick calls or chat.
Unfortunately, the software and documentation bring the experience down a notch. The firmware update process is convoluted: understandable, you must unzip the downloaded update file, connect both the headset and the base station via USB, and only then can you update successfully. Inexplicably, if you try to update from within the ZIP file, the process will start and ultimately fail without clear explanation - the firmware updater should throw a clearer error for the user.
Even after updating, Windows creates a confusing array of virtual devices (seven separate outputs in my case), making it unclear which to use for gaming, chat, or media.
The HyperX NGENUITY app (as of November 2025) is still VERY much in beta. Some of the advertised features, like 8- or 12-channel virtual audio and AI noise reduction through the mic, don’t appear to work yet, even on current firmware. Spatial audio through Windows or Dolby Atmos still works fine, but the built-in HyperX spatial mode is effectively broken right now. On the plus side, NGENUITY is lightweight, doesn’t nag you, and data collection is off by default.
Documentation is similarly disappointing: no full PDF manual, no clear troubleshooting guide, and no visible path to buying replacement parts. It’s a shame, because the hardware feels like a 5-star product, but the software and support experience are more in the 1-to-2-star range. Ultimately, this product has been on the market for close to three months, and I do not think the current state of the software reflects that. If HyperX can get the firmware and app experience up to the same standard as the physical design, this could be one of the best wireless headsets on the market.
