as a professional this has given me more angles and true day to day life stuff to shoot with the size and places it can go. 8k 10bit is amazing

Do not buy this!!! The motorcycle and helmet mounts are NOT compatible!

I use the Insta360 Ace Pro 2 regularly, and it has become one of those cameras I can just grab, start recording, and trust to give me good footage without much fuss.
Image quality is one of its biggest strengths. The footage comes out sharp with good detail and color, and the low-light performance is especially impressive for an action camera. I also like the stabilization because it makes handheld footage much easier to use without constantly thinking about how perfectly I am holding the camera.
The flip-up touchscreen is one of my favorite features. It makes framing much easier when I am in front of the camera, and the screen is large enough that changing settings does not feel cramped. The magnetic mounting system is also very convenient when moving the camera between different setups.
The camera itself is compact enough to carry around without being a hassle, but it still feels solid and well built. I have not intentionally abused it to test durability, but nothing about it feels cheap or fragile during normal use.
Battery life is decent for what this camera is doing, but I am glad I went with the dual-battery bundle. Having a second battery ready to go is genuinely useful, especially when recording at higher resolutions or using the screen a lot. For me, the extra battery adds more value than getting a bundle filled with accessories I may not use.
Audio has also been good for an action camera, and I like the removable wind guard. It is a small feature, but it gives you some flexibility depending on how you are recording.
There are a lot of features and shooting modes packed into the Ace Pro 2, so there is definitely some learning involved if you want to get everything out of it. You can start recording right away, but spending some time learning the different modes, stabilization options, resolutions, and settings is worth it.
I paid $309.99 for the dual-battery bundle on sale, and at that price I think it is reasonable for what you are getting, although I still consider it an expensive action camera. At the regular price, I would think much harder about the value for money. Around the price I paid, the image quality, stabilization, flip screen, magnetic mounting, and second battery make the package much easier for me to justify.
For regular use, the Ace Pro 2 has been stable, dependable, and easy to work with. The camera is not cheap, but when the price drops into the low $300 range for the dual-battery bundle, I think it becomes a much more attractive package.

I picked up this action camera bundle to record my motorcycle rides and travel adventures, and it has been absolutely incredible. As an adrenaline chaser, I need gear that can take a beating and keep recording, and this camera holds up perfectly. The video quality is stunning, and the stabilization keeps everything completely smooth even when the roads get rough. The best part of this bundle is definitely the dual battery setup. Recording in high resolution drains power quickly, so having that second battery means I can swap it out and keep filming a full day of riding or hiking without needing to stop and find a wall outlet. If you want a top tier action camera for your adventures, this bundle is absolutely the way to go.

Great little all purpose camera. The bundle pack is worth the little extra money as well

By all parameters, this is probably the best action camera on the market now. Unfortunately for me, the one I bought came in with defect. The original USB C cable did not fit into the camera. Imho the issue is the defect USB C port in the camera. No way to connect or charge. Very unpleasant experience. Had to return it.

Good camera, nice pictures, and the printer is awesome, printer paper is cheap( when you run out of it) and everything is VERY high quality

I have been shooting photos and videos for 22 years, and this Insta360 Ace Pro 2 is easily one of the worst cameras I have ever used. There is a lot of hype behind this camera, but the actual image quality does not match the marketing at all.
The biggest problem is the video quality. The footage looks low quality, unstable in a strange way, and has a weird ghosting/artifact effect that makes the image look unnatural. Instead of clean, real video footage, it looks like the camera is trying to process or “fix” the image too much, and the result is worse. The AI processing is one of the worst parts of this camera. I do not want artificial-looking video. I want clean, sharp, natural footage, and this camera does not deliver that.
The one-inch sensor sounds good on paper, but in real use, it does not feel like it is doing much. The image quality is still poor, and the footage does not look anywhere near what I expected from a camera being marketed this heavily. It almost feels like the sensor advantage is wasted because of the processing, stabilization, and overall image handling.
I also do not like how they use the Leica name in the marketing. As someone familiar with photography and brands like Leica and Hasselblad, this feels more like a gimmick than a real quality advantage. A name on the lens does not matter if the final footage looks bad.
My GoPro Max 360 gives me better results, and even smaller cameras I have tested, like the RunCam Thumb 2, can look better in actual use. That is a major problem for a camera at this price point. The shape and physical design are probably the only thing I can say is decent, but that does not matter when the most important part — the image quality — is bad.
Overall, this camera is all hype and very little real performance. The footage looks bad, the processing looks artificial, the stabilization has strange ghosting, and the sensor does not deliver the quality it should. I would not recommend this camera.
Pros:
Physical shape/design is decent
Cons:
Poor image quality
Weird ghosting/artifact effect
AI processing makes footage look unnatural
One-inch sensor does not deliver the expected quality
Overhyped marketing compared to real-world performance.
Gimmick scam camera. Uaing the name ocer what it actual looks like. Fool the people, not me.

I bounced around between the DJI and this camera for a month or two and couldn’t decide. I actually ordered the DJI Osmo Action 4 and returned it because I didn’t like the interface and there were settings I couldn’t get to work. This camera out of the box is impressive. You’re basically getting a mini Leica Camera, but rugged and robust build of an action camera.
I was worried about durability. I’m a firefighter full time and wanted something that I could use for body cam footage. You see people do it all the time with GoPro. Let me tell you, this camera is a tank. I was so gun shy about wearing it but I finally did and I don’t know even know why I was worried about it. Plus, my footage blows other guys’ GoPros out of the water. It’s not even a competition.
Image quality is like nothing I’ve ever seen out of an action camera. The colors pop and images are sharp and videos are immersive. It can look a bit “over processed” if you dive into the settings or filters too much. Honestly 4k30 on the standard filter looks incredible as it is.
I also wanted a dual purpose camera that I can then take off my gear and use at home for family moments and dive into street photography some. This camera does it all. I will say it is worth it to invest in the closeup lens that insta360 makes for this camera because action cameras in general struggle with focusing on super up close objects. Other than that?? Out of the box you’re good to go.
I also bought the Xplorer Grip. Not the pro grip, but the original one. I found the xplorer grip pro to be a bit of a drag because you have to take the usb door cover off of the camera in order to use it and that takes away from the water proof rating of the camera. Is it the camera’s fault? No. It’s a characteristic of the xplorer grip pro. If you’re going to LEAVE the camera In the xplorer grip pro and not constantly swap it in and out like I would be then that would be a great option for you.
Overall, this thing is an absolute GoPro KILLER. The low light performance is second to none and the image quality is insane. Just buy it. Don’t bounce around like I did, just buy this camera and be done. You won’t regret it.
One extra thing to buy, buy the Llano battery charger. It comes with two Llano brand batteries and they’re great. Also give you the capability to charge batteries without taking the camera out of service.

Solid stable operates very well in 4k and transfer to iPad, phone or windows tablets. May take extended time beyond 15 min 4k films for wireless transfer . 8k videos should be to a desktop direct transfer via data card or provided cable

I really love this camera, videos are so clear, and the photos are great. I’m not a photographer but this camera makes my photos look good! I’m having fun exploring and documenting my life with photos/videos.

Amazing for photography! App is also nice for instantly getting the pictures.

I bought this as a gift for my wife on her birthday.
I am amazed by the quality of photo and videos. fair battery life, it might also be good to have a separate battery charger. The unit itself is very light, even with the grip pro, it is still light. The grip can charge the unit, but it will be the first to die, you have option to turn off the grip charging the unit.
Although I am not sure if it’s okay to use a PowerBank, which my wife used for the whole day coz there’s no where to plug the charger 😅. It somehow charged the unit and grip very fast.
I forgot one thing for the whole bundle, the memory card 🤭😅 although i temporarily used a low quality memory card, just for the time being. (Sometimes stops video recording) 🫣
My wife love it so much.

Camera is amazing. By far way easier to use and download videos than other brands. Does not overheat and nighttime motorcycle rides are amazing to watch back, daytime even better. Does everything it says it does. Love it.

Love it, low light quality is exceptional.

Update 7/1 - Ghosted! Lesson learned!
Update 6/17 - After previously promised that insta360 will offer a 50% discount on a new product for selling an untested product, when the new product actually launched (Luna ultra) now the seller customer service says it cannot offer any discount and it’s out of the policy. Be careful of interacting with the customer service and their tactics to manipulate. I am surprised they are still in business.
Update - Insta360 support reached out to me and were genuinely interested in detailed feedback about the product. Hopefully they will fix future versions of the product. Objectively, the issues I faced mostly revolved around terrible explorer grip which stops your ability to start and stop recording, image quality when compared to other products I have and some focusing issues. The good thing about the product was the pure video mode which worked like advertised and better than competition. Due to positive interaction with Support, I would want to give them one more chance in the future with a new version of thoroughly tested product. Still keeping old review below:

For those who don’t know this company Insta360 is in business because they pay off YouTube creators large amount of money to promote substandard products. And these creators say anything that’s asked of them for money. You see these videos and give this company your money in exchange for a substandard product. This is good for kids as a toy. Bad stabilization, bad user experience. Other than that it is an untested, bad quality, badly built product. The insta360 store seller is even more horrible. Just trying to fool me around when I highlighted an issue with the product. Avoid at all costs. Look for DJI products if you want a premium product.

My initial plan was to buy a GoPro for an upcoming snorkeling trip to the outer Great Barrier Reef. However, I came across this camera while watching a YouTube side-by-side comparison video of shooting the same underwater footage on three different action camera brands, and it came out the clear winner for me. I also appreciated that you can easily access and edit your footage without paying for an expensive monthly subscription. In my case, I used their software to take screenshots and print photos for my scrapbook, which I found extremely easy. In general, I think this camera is extremely simple to use right out of the box, without reading a single instruction, and I found their software to be quite powerful and easy for editing videos, with options for color, brightness, and so much more. I wish I could edit my iPhone videos this easily! This camera did a superb job at documenting one of the greatest days of my life, and I hope to use it again soon to document future travel and trips.

I like the insta better then go pro and I used go pro for years ! Def more clear and better sound also nice to be able to see urself when making a self recording worth every penny in my opinion just wish the batteries lasted longer then 40 min in cold

Camera is great however, I had some problems with the sd card access and requested a replacement. They are taking care of it but not without the equivalent of a full root canal. I’ve always been a gopro purchaser and never had an issue with support. Bottom line, when there is an issue with their camera they need to focus on taking care of their customers. I should not have to go through weeks worth of hassle to get a replacement which now puts be behind on bus projects.

Worth the money. Battery sucks (a little) so buy extras. Camera is awesome. Takes great pictures too!

The title summarizes how I feel about this camera and there are so many reasons.
1. The design is very similar to previous action cameras and I think many of the Ace Pro accessories fit the Ace Pro 2.
2. The construction is top notch in every single way. The screen hinge is solid and far exceeded my expectation for a flip up screen.
3. The menu system is like other Insta360 products. Easy to use, intuitive, and very easy to navigate.
4. The new microphone really delivers great sound quality for an in camera option. There are a number of external mics and I'm probably going to work with a few in the future but the on camera option is REALLY good.
5. Now, last, but certainly not least, the image quality in picture and video modes is GREAT. The best quality I've seen in an action camera full stop.
6. The camera is very much Insta360 but there is a Leica feel to it and there are Leica profiles for shooting that I really enjoyed using.
7. Final thing is the app. Some devices are a pain to pull your footage off of. The Insta360 app makes all that easy. Connecting to your camera, shooting remotely, offloading images and video, and even AI video editing to just get something fun out of the camera.
Overall this is an amazing choice for an action camera and a great choice for an everyday carry camera with a few accessories. I would suggest a cage of some sort and a polarizer and ND filters if you're planning to shoot during the day.
Great camera, great design, great application.

Insta360 Ace Pro 2 sets a new benchmark in action cameras, particularly excelling in low-light performance and built-in stabilization. Equipped with a 1/1.3-inch sensor and dual AI chips, its Pure Video mode delivers exceptional clarity in dim environments, reducing noise and naturally brightening footage. Overall definitely a game changer!

As someone who uses a lot of action cameras on a regular basis, I've got to say, this is my new favorite. The build quality is excellent. It's super solid and has a surprising amount of weight to it. Also, the hinge for the articulating screen has been upgraded since the previous version and it feels more robust than before. Likewise, it covers all the bases for both beginners and pros with its ease of use and functionality. There's finally a LOG profile this time around, though it's worth noting that it's not supported in higher frame rates or resolutions - meaning, it's not available in 8K or 4K 120 fps - But I actually haven't minded that because the colors are so genuinely good straight out of camera. Another big update over the previous version is the dual-processor setup. There's the traditional processor along with a second chip for AI adjustments. This actually makes a huge difference in image quality. The dynamic range is phenomenal on this new version. Also, anyone familiar with the first version of this camera will notice how much quicker and responsive the menu system is now. The only downside I've noticed is the two-processor setup does seem to use a bit more battery life than the previous version, but that's been perfectly fine for me because the trade-off has been totally worth it. Another welcome update is the lens cover is finally removable this time around, so it can be easily replaced if need be. Overall, they've packed a ton of great features in a solid little waterproof camera. This is literally the happiest I've been with an action camera in a long time. Highly recommended.
