Functional but Clearly Used

The product functions properly, but there are clear signs of previous use. Despite being advertised as new, the item arrived with noticeable marks and signs of wear. While it works as expected, the visible evidence of prior use detracts from the experience and the product's perceived value

For hybrid book club discussions, it is nearly perfect.

Our book club of mostly retired people has been zooming because of COVID, and some members have been pleading for a return to in-person discussions. We decided to go hybrid, and this camera is a perfect enabler. The microphone clearly picks up the people in the room. The 120-degree wide angle camera is centered on the discussion leader, and we also have an iPhone or two on a tripod to give the remote attendees another view of the room. The room where we meet has large wall-mounted flat-screen monitors with speakers, so the people in the room can see and hear the remote participants in the zoom session. We just conducted our first test (see the set-up pictured), and everyone was very happy with the solution.

Exceeded my Expectations

I thought I was getting an inexpensive conference camera for our Bible study. Since we sit in a square, I thought putting it in the middle would be make it a good experience for our remote attendees. It definitely exceeded our expectations. The clarity was surprisingly clear, and gave the feel of being involved with the group. Also, the mic picked up the audio well enough to pick up everyone in the circle. Highly recommend this camera. The attached photo was just a test, but it shows how it covers 360°

Looks nice but okay picture...

Been looking for a good camera, more so, one with a quality picture. Sadly this does not have that. It is a great looking camera, modern, sleek and has a heavy duty bottom stand.

Plugged it in to my PC and it comes right up and ready to use. No need to install anything, unless it was done in the background. PC shows the camera. I thought the instructions were going to be good, but not really. While it looks like a detailed book, it's only one short page per language, with several languages. Says on the instruction cover there is a quick start guide, but there is NONE. Only few steps to use the camera and tips if you have trouble, but doesn't cover much. Figured there would be more details on how to use it, but it's not to be. Instructions are greatly lacking.

Sadly, the picture quality is very grainy. I even tried it in several different programs, all the same. Tried different lighting as well, still the grainy quality. Not terrible, but doesn't look like HD quality 1080. I gave it a chance.

Worked great on my PC's, windows camera program. Also worked juts fine on Skype. But I can not get it to work on Zoom. They pushed that it works for that system but every time I try to start the camera in Zoom, it says cannot start camera. Went into Zoom settings, have the right camera (only one I have hooked up), but won't give me any video. Don't see how I could be doing something wrong. If I get it figured out I'll update this.

Lastly, the ring touch screen does nothing for me. I tried it several times. Maybe it needs some special app to use that feature. Don't know because the instructions are so limited.

It is a good looking unit and works as it should, but the grainy image doesn't do it for me.

Very special cam

This is really a very special camera.

Although the image quality is not very good, it is still sufficient for meeting. I have tested it with line and zoom and it is no problem.

Works with phone or computer, easy to use

This is a nice external camera for those video calls we're all making more of now. There is very minimal assembly - screw the weighted base into the bottom of the camera. Done. There is a rubbery lens cover that slides over the lens. It's easy to forget because it looks so much like the lens. The cable is quite long, and has a USB-C or USB-A (regular usb) plug on the end. The USB-C plug nests into the back of the USB-A one; and if they are not plugged into each other this way, you won't see anything with the USB-A plugged into your device.

To use this, plug into your device of choice, and open your video conferencing or recording program. It should auto detect the camera and ask if you want to set permissions for it. To use it with an android cell phone, you need the 'CameraFi Live' app off the Google Play store. (No idea on apple products) The video quality was comparable to whatever device I was using. My cell phone is much better in low light than my laptop and so was the video from this camera when hooked to my cell phone.

You can select one of six modes by pressing the MODE button to the side of the lens. Your display will show which mode you are in with a green outline around the orange icon, and repeated pressing of the button cycles through the different modes. It takes a couple seconds to switch the display to the newly selected one, so it's press and wait, press and wait. It's all pictograms, so you need to learn which mode goes to which picture. There is a mute button on the other side of the lens. This only mutes your microphone, it does not pause or black out the video. For four modes, you need to flip the camera so the lens is up, and for two, you use it vertically.

☆Wide Angle view is great for when you have a few people sitting together that you want to all be in frame. Like a family call to grandma. Camera is vertical.

☆Single View is obviously, just for one person and has about the same view as a laptop camera. Camera is vertical.

☆Dual Host mode is for when two people or groups of people not sitting together but in the same room want to be on a call with someone. Camera is horizontal. Once the image comes up, you see that you have three boxes with different video views on them. The top is a sort of 'whole room' view. You should see yourself and the other person in this views. Put your finger on the black ring around the lens (it's a touchpad) and move the red line in the top box onto one person. Touch it again and move the green line to the other person. Now the two smaller views show both speakers.

☆Host mode is the same as dual host, but you only have the red line to move to just one speaker.

☆360° All Around View shows a panoramic video. Camera is horizontal.

☆ Full Screen 360° shows a wide angle view from the front and back of the camera.

The directions note that some applications can cause the video to be mirror image. Even the menu is reversed (photos). To fix that, hold down the MODE button for three seconds.

The video quality seems to depend on how well the device you are using does. My cell phone does very well in low light, and the video from this camera looked good in low light. My laptop webcam isn't so great in low light, and the video quality when this camera was hooked to my laptop was grainy. However, it was very smooth in both cases, and even waving the camera around like a fangirl trying to get an autograph didn't cause the video to jitter, lag or drop frames.

The microphone quality seems better than a cell phone. Of course, that depends somewhat on the quality of the speakers the other person has, but in my test calls, the audio on the receiving person's end was clearer and better sounding than a cell phone call.
