EXCELLENT for beginners and guitar lovers alike

I'm a beginner guitarist. This chord book is absolutely fantastic. Very well designed, super comprehensive, super clear, and easy to understand. Good quality paper, medium size, portable. I highly recommend it... for beginners.

Repurchased this old friend!

I love this book wth all my might! It is the first guitar chord book I ever bought back when I was first learning to play guitar and knew nothing about key signatures, or keys in general being(Major/Minor/diminished/ or augmented) etc. All I knew is that I wanted to know all the chords possible.. long story short I gave it to a student back when I was teaching and had become an intermediate guitar player and went on to major in classical guitar performance where I got to a point of thinking I no longer needed it. Now as I re-enter a new learning phase of my musical journey I have repurchased this gem and am using it to construct orchestrations on the guitar to which I never have before. So this book is aiding me in that journey yet again! The only thing I would like to see in the revision is for them to add a 3rd position for each chord. Now I know that would increase the number of pages by over 100 but it would further solidify this little gem as a staple in the musical learning experience.!

Guitar Chord book for Beginners and professional

The Guitar chord book i purchase is for referencing purposes. The size and quality as a printed booklet is very appealing. and convenient. Everything is clearly explained at the beginning pages. I highly recommend.

Learn to use the whole neck with this book

Nice book very easy to see, if you were born in the 1900's like me it helps. Lol

I like that it shows a lot of positions. Too many guides, charts etc show only positions near the nut. Leaving 2/3rds of the neck out of play.

Beautiful spiral book

Very nice book, it's really helpful and tells you specifically how to play the cords according to each page. It has a nice introduction too, I can't wait to learn more :)

Good book but spiral bound version needs quick edge indexing tabs

The content, size, illustrations, spiral binding and concept of this single chord per page book are great. Where it frustrates me is it is very challenging to find the chord I'm looking for. Yes, the edge of each page has a little color index for each key, but it needs some sort of slightly thicker physical edge tab sticking out that divides the sections. You can't really open it directly to the key you're looking for without thumbing through pages. I've tagged mine up with Post-it notes but those get ratty looking quick. Again, it's a fine referencing chord book that I use but I'd like it a little easier to use while sitting there with my guitar in my hands/lap.

Ring Binder Rules! Nice layout.

Pros:

1. The ring binder is great. I can lay it out flat without it closing on me. It's SO much better than other bound chord books I own (like the Hal Leonard chord book).

2. Love the big, color illustrations

3. The chords are organized alphabetically

4. One chord per page

5. The book is small (7-3/8"H x 5-7/8"W x 1"D)

Cons:

1. It's an inch thick. So it could be a little bulky for some gig bags.

Overall, IMO it's by far the best guitar chord book out there.

Go to source for chords you are learning.

This is going to cut a lot of stop and search when learning new songs.

Great for reference

Spiral bound guitar book arrived on time as promised. As reference book for guitar chords, it's quite convenient to use for all levels of guitar expertise. It also provides alternatives to play a certain chord. It's easy to follow and to use. Using the tabs near the edge of the page, chords are arranged from A to G & "other chords". Obviously, the guitar greenhorn needs to learn a few basic chords first, and this book builds on those skills. Although the first edition was published in 2006, guitar chords don't really change, unlike other fields of study, so it's relevant today as it was years ago. I deducted 1 star because the back cover arrived crumpled, and I like to keep my books pristine. This book is supposed to be brand new. The person who packed the box was not careful. I still recommend this guitar book as a quick reference. It's faster to use this than look up chords individually on the web.
