Lasted a few months, tried to just replace bulb right now and bulb base got stuck inside of bottom of lamp so now I can’t even pull out the broken stick piece inside to put another bulb and can’t get a return smh super annoyed

This light is gorgeous, absolutely love it. I have it in our guest and most popular bathroom. It is beautiful with the bathroom light on and with the bathroom light off. It is mesmerizing. Very, very happy with this lava lamp. It is 4th lava lamp I have bought, all different styles and this one wins over the other 3.

The first time I bought these, the bulb came broken so I reached out to the company by email to see if I could just get sent a replacement bulb. They eventually replied over a week later but by then I decided to return the whole box for a replacement.
The liquid heats up fast (especially since I keep my apartment warm all year round) so the wax clumps at the top within 45 minutes after starting it up for me.
But I got a dimmer plug and that has helped tremendously to the point where I feel like they should just include bulb dimmers on lava lamps as an integrated feature so users can adjust as needed. With the dimmer, I can run these longer and actually get a show because the wax rises and falls at a much slower pace and the wax stays in bigger blobs than in a bunch of little beads.
The base and cap are just okay, doesn’t feel particularly high quality or anything, it’s just basic light weight plastic.
The 16 inch height wasn’t a selling point for me because it’s just a 2 inch difference than the original lava lamps, seems like something that could be explained with the pointy cap instead of the flat top cap.
My first pic is maybe 30 minutes in without a dimmer plug, the next two pics are running for over an hour with a dimmer plug set to 55%

the metal coil that heats up the wax gets misplaced from time to time, but with frequent use, this is a non-issue and easily solved by turning it on and off again. not to mention, im moving around a lot as a college student, so that could have also misplaced the coil. would recommend!

I am an 11 year old writing this, and you should know after you turn ur lava lamp on, the bulb can get very hot after 10 minutes. Lava lamp so far doing really good, and also really nice as a room decoration, probably predicting will last few decades, just note to turn it on use this roller switch.

It’s a standard lava lamp and I enjoyed it a lot! I’m not sure if there’s a way to not having it happen or it is what it is, but after you turned it on for a few hours, the lamp starts to become a bit cloudy and have tiny little bits floating around (I assume it’s wax). It’s not a big deal but just a bit annoying haha.

This was a Christmas gift for my daughter today and her first night using it. It exploded on the first use before the wax ever even melted. The liquid was going everywhere including on the plug in on her nightstand which was a huge safety hazard. I do not recommend this product, but am so thankful my daughter is okay.

The China water inside is totally contaminated and God only knows what’s in there. I did not filter it and I just threw the water down the sewer.. then I put some bottled water in from FL The damn thing didn’t work, so the American water went down the sewer.. The AI helped me discover that every bottle of water that we consume has billions of pieces of nano and micro plastic and even the smaller number after nano which is probably 10 to the -16. But most importantly2 lava lamps deserve five stars because there’s nothing wrong with the bulb or the quality yeah you have to tighten that little nuttsiedoodle underneath but that’s it I love my lava lamps you just Gotta have brand new water in there with no plastic particles see the plastic floats you can’t see it but it’s in there the wax coalesce and bind with the micro plastics and caused all of the fascinating features of the lava lamp that we used to live as children vanished. We were like who made this lava lamp. Why is it look like a bunch of grapes at the top well it was the plastic in the water. Holy Camoli all that plastics coming out. The best part is every day we don’t drink plastic anymore, and the lava lamps lived happily ever after in plastic free water, just like in the garden of Eden. Or like going back in time when your grandmother was pregnant with your mother and inside the safety and security of granny, no plastic LOL

Straight out the box we were already a little disappointed. The metal base and cap are extremely thin and dainty, and there was a noticeable dent on the base. Cap doesn’t secure on top just sits on top, so it tilts easily. Light bulb that came with it was either already bad or the electrical parts had an issue because we could not get it to turn on no matter how careful we put the bulb in. Directions said the light bulb base can dislodge in transit which can cause it to not work, but I think that is a sign of low quality craftsmanship as it is.
You’re definitely getting what you pay for with this.

Seller reached out to offer replacement. I had already been in the process of returning the previous one, but was lazy about sending the package back. Reseller sent replacement with no charge or requirement to send the previous one back, so it was a win-win.
Replacement product worked has perfectly fine and I’m loving it so far! Still cheap material but it’s doing what’s intended. Not bad at all!

I've had it for 3 months now and no real issues. Two things to note 1) the coloring. To my naked eye it looks less blue & less purple than in their respective provided pictures or even my phones camera. But honestly doesn't matter that much to me. i still think they look great. 2) the USB C ports. They simply don't work. The USB A do. It seems to be a quality control issue as i did contact support who were super helpful to send me a replacement however the replacements port was also defective. For me not a deal breaker at all and my only reason for deducting a single star.

TLDR: give this lamp a day or two to heat up!
The day that I received this lava lamp, I left it plugged in for the recommended 5 hours and the wax stayed stuck on the bottom of the lamp. I left it on for probably 20 hours total, and eventually the “lava” floated up from the bottom but became stuck at the top. VERY small bubbles of wax would occasionally come from th the top or bottom, but never the fun large blobs like you’d expect.
Customer service was INCREDIBLE with this company; as soon as I reached out, they helped me to troubleshoot and offered to send a replacement for no extra cost. I’d all but given up on this lamp and was looking forward to my new one, but lo behold, 2 days later my lava lamp works PERFECTLY! The little “bits” floating around in the lamp also are gone now (must’ve been in integrated wax bits). I’m so pleased with how it turned out after a few days.

I really love the aesthetic of this glitter lamp, as the silver star glitter and the base design are both very much on point. The colors are true to the product photos, making it a great accent piece for any room. However, I did notice that the build quality doesn't feel quite as sturdy or heavy-duty as the retro lamps I owned back in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, my bulb arrived broken so I haven't been able to see it fully lit yet, but the overall look is still very nice. It is a solid 4-star product that provides a great vintage vibe, though it may feel a bit more lightweight than older classic models.

Quality is wonderful, it was easy to put together, came with the bulb. Using it almost 24/7 since we got it. The gold is brassy which is fine but I feel like the multicolor glitter itself has faded in the 2 weeks we’ve had it…
EDITED: 2 months later the glitter is basically silver and blue ☹️ if I had known that would happen I would’ve gotten the silver one from the get go.

EDIT: After about 2½ weeks, the wax stopped flowing. It just sat at the bottom of the lamp. I reached out to Jambo, who responded with trouble shooting advice. They stated that the coil at the bottom of the lamp may need to be re-seated. If that did not restore wax movement, then the lamp would be considered defective. Even though the coil had never been disturbed from when we set the lamp up, we attempted to re-seat it at the bottom of the lamp as instructed in their reply. Re-seating the coil was done three different days, with no change in the lamp's performance. I reached out to Jambo again to let them know that re-seating the coil did not rectify the problem. I have emailed them a follow-up to their trouble-shooting response twice with no response from them since. So, we had a working lamp for 2 weeks, which now sits with no wax movement and the water is now hazy from all of the trouble shooting attempts. I will be emailing Jambo one more time to give them one last chance to stand behind their product.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
My son had a cheap lava lamp he won at an arcade with a red transparent plastic base and cap that let a lot of light out. It worked "okay," but I was never satisfied with the lava lamp experience it provided for him... despite all that, he left it on around the clock and preferred to use it as a night light. So, when the water started getting hazy and the wax just stayed a big blob at the top of the lamp, I decided to get him a nicer one. He loves blue and the yellow wax looks like a very vibrant green in the blue water. The base and cap are thick enough to keep all light projected into the area where it is intended to be. It took a couple of hours for the wax to warm up enough to flow freely, but the filament in the light bulb that came with it was broken, so I just used one of the LED lava lamp bulbs I had previously purchased for my son's old lava lamp. It probably just takes the LED bulbs longer to reach an effective temperature, which is not a fault of the lamp itself. Since we set it up, it has been on 24 hours a day and my son continues to prefer his lava lamp as his night light. He really enjoys the vivid colors and loves the superior performance of his new lava lamp! I do wish the shape weren't limited to a rocket and that it could be a bit bigger in diameter.

The colors are exactly what I expected, and the lava flows nicely. Unfortunately the liquid is so cloudy that you can barely see the lava moving. I was going to give this as a gift a week from today. I will need to find something else, as this is not acceptable as a gift.

I love the colors of these lamps. Unfortunately, as many others have observed, they take a very long time to warm up. About an hour and 20 minutes! I noticed that part of the problem seems to be that the metal coils that should sit on the bottom near the warm bulb cinducting heat through the “lava” tend to get stuck in the cool sludge. You can see this on the lower right side of the purple/yellow lamp. The solution appears to be to give it 45 minutes or so to heat the sludge enough to become malleable. Then, with a gentle rocking motion so as not to create tiny bubbles, jiggle the hot lamp back and forth until the coil falls into its place. Then the lamp works as one would expect. This is tedious, inconvenient and potentially dangerous. The old-school lava lamps heat up quickly, and I have never seen a coil at the bottom (perhaps there was one but it was anchored). The original variety lamp also used hotter (hazardous) bulbs. But while these bulbs may not burn quite as hot, these pose different risks with the whole “shake the coils into place” bit.
Certainly can’t recommend for minors. Only recommend for adults who have the patience and foresight to turn the thing on 90 minutes prior to intended enjoyment… and responsible enough to manipulate a hot lamp without an incident!

The first lamp was very cloudy from the second I plugged it in (as seen in video). Couldn’t really make out the wax in motion. I was able to get a replacement within 3 days, at no cost to me, and it arrived before I even returned the first one.
The second one was clear and just what I expected. (as seen in photo.)
The glass just sits in the base and is not secured, so be careful not to bump and tip it over. The cap also just sits on top of the glass. Comes with bulb. Works great!!

I got this as a gift for my friend, there was a bulb included. I remember seeing a review that said it wasn’t but it is. So I ordered 2 extra bulbs for nothing. That’s on me I could have checked the box. But otherwise, she loves it! Would recommend.
