Paid for new item… received used.

The item I received was very obviously used. The box had been ripped and taped shut. The earbuds hadn’t even been put back in the right place in the packaging. Returning.

No like new

An opened product was purchased; however, it was indicated as being in like-new condition. Upon receiving the product, it was found to have been used roughly and was damaged. It's better to buy a new one

So uncomfortable that I didn't even bother listening to the sound quality.

These are incredibly uncomfortable (I didn't even get to trying the headband.) I put them on, took them off, and put them back into their box.

For truly great and comfortable openback earphones which even (According to the reviews:) have better sound, (while cheaper!) go for the: Soundcore AeroFit 2 by Anker (~$100). See my review of them for more information.

Good for the gym, good for phone calls

You get the earbud, a charging case and a strap for the earbuds. The case is on the bigger side but that's inevitable due to the earbud shape. Speaking of which the earbuds are pretty chunky but they're also lightweight and really don't weigh the ears down at all I can wear them for hours and not notice them. The fit is surprisingly good they stay in place and the part that goes in you ear swivels to help with fit. The strap helps keep it place and can catch one of them if they fall.

Sound quality is pretty good and you can EQ them using the JBL app. The app also allows you to change the customize the touch controls, set a shut off timer and use find my buds which plays a loud beeping until the buds are found.

Mic quality is crisp and clear I haven't had a single complaint using these yet. They stay in place while I am during cardio and since they're not heavy they don't bother my ears. Because of the open design sound can sometimes leak in but for the most part it's not an issue.

Great feel

Works great and feels light on the ear. Love the design and so far the battery life lasts. The tap is a specific location but works well.

We really like the open ear design

Good:

-Responsive controls.

-Open ear design.

-Supports multi point.

-Great battery and audio quality.

Bad:

-Bulky charging case.

-Gesture controls cannot be modified via the app.

-Lack of noise canceling.

-Uncomfortable for extended use.

I ordered the JBL SoundGear Sense - True Wireless Open-Ear Headphones. We like that the headphones offer quick and reliable controls. Nothing goes inside your ear, but you still get the benefit of having a low profile design. We like that you can connect to multiple devices simultaneously. Overall, we think this set offers great features for those who want open ear headphones without the need for noise canceling.

Good looking and sounding with a very giftable packaging.

I was impressed with the packaging—it’s well-organized and presents the product beautifully. The charging case features a sleek LED light that illuminates when opened, adding a nice touch.

The earbuds themselves feel durable and of high quality. I appreciate that they include a "back of the head strap" as an optional accessory. While I’m not sure I’ll use it, it’s a thoughtful addition. All components, including the earbuds, strap, and charging case, are clearly labeled with “R” and “L” markings, which makes them incredibly convenient and easy to use.

The earbuds and case also have a textured finish, giving you a secure grip that helps prevent slipping... a small but excellent detail. A standout feature I didn’t expect is the adjustable fit. The earbuds not only swivel on the ear arm but also adjust vertically, allowing you to customize how they sit on your ears for a more comfortable fit. Definitely a great feature on an open ear earbud.

As for setup, it’s straightforward, like most Bluetooth devices. However, the included Quick Start Guide provides QR codes for downloading the free app, which makes it easy to fine-tune your settings... A super helpful feature.

Overall, I’m highly impressed with these earbuds. They’ve quickly replaced my AirPods for the gym. If you’re looking for a comfortable, high-quality, and versatile pair of earbuds, This a definitely a fantastic choice!

Great and easy to pair

I haven’t worn these to the gym yet so not sure about sturdiness but they do have good range, left my phone in my room and walked throughout the house with no sound issues.

headphone and microphones both are good.

These JBL SoundGear Sense headphones are great for open-ear audio. The OpenSound technology delivers crisp, immersive sound without isolating you from your surroundings, which is perfect for outdoor activities or casual use. They’re comfortable to wear for long periods. The call quality is excellent, thanks to the 4 built-in microphones, making conversations crystal clear, tested phone calls with friends and family they all said my voice is clear and loud. This is my first time to have open ear headphone, it took some times to adjust.

Charging pins keep breaking

This product works great for a few months but the charging pins in the case keep breaking, which makes the earpieces unable to charge. I've had to get a replacement twice. I don't know how many times they're going to allow me to keep getting replacements, but I think this product was a waste of money.

I love JBL!

I am a JBL fan! These open ear headphones rock! I am not a big fan of open ear but these sound awesome. My only gripe with open ear in general is the fact that I have to have my device (tablet) turned almost to max to get any good sound. Once I got the volume where I wanted these headphones sounded very nice. I have not tried the app yet but I assume you can tailor your sound. Build quality is what you expect out of JBL products. Comfort is very good. These are tailored for those who don't like things stuffed into their ears. A very nice set up from JBL!

Phenomenal sound

I’m not a fan of earbuds mostly because I feel like I’m wearing hearing protection but with these JBL Sound Gear Sense ear speakers not only is the sound quality phenomenal but I can still hear what’s going on around me without blocking all of my hearing. These wrap comfortably around your ears and lay nicely against them I’ve made numerous phone calls while wearing these and they truly are amazing. These come in its own charging case and cord and even an attachment to use to keep your ear speakers in place while jogging. These easily hook up to your phone’s Bluetooth,I’m very excited JBL came out with alternative to ear buds the sound quality is second to none you’ll love listening to your favorite tunes thru these I highly recommend.

Comfortable, great sound quality, stay aware of surroundings

I picked these up to wear while biking. I need to be able to hear cars and other things and these are perfect for that.

They sit on of your ear instead of going inside your ear canal. So they do not block outside sounds, but still sound great. They are more comfortable without the pressure on your ear canal. I tried using this for work calls and they have great mics. I can use a single ear bud or both ear buds. Unlike many other ear buds, there is a mute function which is really handy for calls.

There is an optional headband which I found unnecessary. The ear clips hold them in place fine for me. If you do really strenuous workouts you might like the extra security of the headband.

I was surprised at how well they sound. Most open ear type headphones are lacking in the bass. These have decent bass and sound great for music.

I would rate these as some of the best headphones I have tried for biking and work calls. They are half the cost of some of the top of the line headphones. At this price point you give up noise cancelling and wireless charging.

Able to use extra features from app, helped to improve the equalizer and other function on each side of headphones.

Moving from another JBL VIBE Beam, these guys are 5 times louder and have a richer sound quality.

Red colored USB-Charging cable is a plus, makes it easy to locate.

Lights on the case are very helpful to show the charging status

Lights on the headphones are helpful to monitor the status and battery charge

Cons

------

Its takes some time to get use to it due to size and open ear design.

Touch controls are very sensitive, keep hanging up my calls accidentally

Volume control is two step touch control ; loud or low , no analog settings

Head band is little tight on my big Man head.

If you adjust them towards your ear canal directly , caller start getting their own echo. (subtle adjust fixes this issue)

Highly recommended

Works great!

These are a great choice for those who want to listen to music or podcasts or even take calls while staying aware of their surroundings. This makes them a good option for outdoor activities or busy environments. Just be aware that the open-ear design may not provide the same level of noise isolation as other headphone types. They didn't work very well while mowing, but I appreciate being able to hear sounds around me otherwise. Peolpe seemed to be able to hear me well on calls, which is a plus over my ear buds. This style takes some getting used to, but they are more comfortable than my ear buds for extended times. These headphones are also splash-resistant, making them suitable for various environments and activities.

First open air buds that I actually like

I’ve tried open style on-ear buds in the past and each time, I came away completely turned off. Typical issues included poor sound quality, lack of comfort, and the inability to keep the buds securely on my ears. Previous experiences left me feeling doubtful I’d like these JBL Sense buds. It didn’t take long for these to completely erase any doubts.

The buds were easy to set up and pair. I downloaded the JBL headphones app, paired the buds to my phone and the app applied a firmware update which took about five minutes to complete. The buds have adjustable ear hooks that allow the most appropriate or comfortable angle for use. A removable neck band is also included to help prevent the buds from falling off the ears during more rigorous activity.

Sound quality is surprisingly good. I’ve tried other external on-ear style buds and they were way too bright, flat and shrill sounding. These actually have a rich warm sound with decent bass for the style. They even sound better than some poor fitting/performing in-ear buds that I’ve tried. The four mic array also sounds good during calls. My voice is clear without distortion, wind noise or other normal volume environmental sounds. The JBL app has a built-in 10- band EQ offering common genre presets or custom EQ settings if preferred. I tweaked it to my usual high/low/mid preference which yielded crisp highs, tight bass, and clear vocals that aren’t overpowered by the other frequencies. Overall, I’m pleased with the sound quality.

The open ear design was a little awkward initially. I had a tough time fitting them onto my ears, in particular getting the loop around my ear. The strap is helpful when needed but is less comfortable than wearing the buds alone. The case charges the buds when not in use and itself charges via the included USB-C cable. The cable is both brightly orange colored and etched with “JBL” which helps avoid getting it mixed up with similar cables. Battery life is good and even after several hours of use, still holds a decent charge in both buds and the case.

Overall, these are great sounding, they stay securely on my ears, have great battery life, and offer a bevy of extra features to help enhance the experience. Cons are few, with biggest being how sensitive the touch controls are. I am always inadvertently activating something, even when simply putting the buds inside the case.
