Best open ear wireless Bluetooth ear buds under $20

These wireless Bluetooth earbuds style open headphones connect easily and sound pretty good. The earbuds loop around ears well and with a snug fit. They don't actually fit inside the ear canals but they direct the sound into the ear canals; so they'd be a good choice for someone with ear sensitivity. The case recharges the earbuds when mounted, with a nice power indicator to show battery level. For under $20 these are great.

I wasn't looking, but these found me

I'll keep this simple. As far as the value for money, these are an easy thumbs up. I've been using wired earbuds for quite a while now just because I was over the usual AirPod look and feel.

As far as the battery life, I've included some photos where I wanted to show that I've only charged the earbud case once since I've gotten these and I've been in the gym most days of the week and out on several runs with these earbuds and I've been using them consistently for about a month. So the battery life is refreshing.

These paired really easily with my Apple Watch and surprisingly it took a couple times to pair with my iPhone, but since then it's been fine. These have all of the expected functions you would need when it comes to listening to your music or podcast as it relates to the quick tap functions and volume up/down, which did take a little getting used to (the volume), but muscle memory as set in now.

The fit didn't seem great at first, but I think this is just getting used to this style of earbud. They're definitely secure, but I did have to remove my audio limits on the iPhone because they don't sit in the ear and some of the sounds were harder to hear in a busy gym or out on a run. The sound quality is a little flat, but definitely clear.

For the price, not a bad set of buds. I'm still using them on the daily.

I enjoyed the Factory-Tuning, it has a FUN sound! Also extremely comfortable, more so than Earbuds.

I have over 25-years in IT. Every once-in-a-while I am thoroughly conflicted. I will explain in a bit. I typically use Headphones in the $350 - $500 Range [Audiophile Grade], with a nice Flat Balanced Engineered Tone.

First I am truly impressed with the Open Ear Concept versus Earbuds [which I have never been able to wear for more than an hour - They just hurt too much - I guess I have small Ear Canals]. This Open Ear Concept seems to be gaining popularity, so I had to try it. It was extremely comfortable and adjustable to acquire the perfect position on the Ear for the best listening. I liked the tuning quite a bit, actually quite fun.

I have an old friend who has a lot of experience with Earbuds and Apple Audio Devices, I gave these to him to explore, these is his assessment:

[For years, I was a dedicated Apple product user. However, I often experienced discomfort from prolonged earbud use, specifically a mild ache. Therefore, I decided to try open-ear headphones. I'm pleased to say they've met all my requirements so far. The battery life is excellent, lasting up to 11 hours. The sound quality is clear and sufficiently loud, and the Bluetooth range is impressive, maintaining a connection at approximately 50-55 feet. Furthermore, the lightweight design makes them incredibly comfortable to wear, almost unnoticeable. It did take a few days to fully learn and utilize all of the device's features. That's my experience so far.]

I concur with his assessment completely, and highly recommend this JOYROOM Open Ear Headphones with Wireless, 5.4 Bluetooth. Enjoy!

Affordable Open-Ear Earbuds: Impressive Features with Minor Touch Control Quirks

As an avid user of wireless earbuds, I was pleasantly surprised by these open-ear headphones. Their lightweight design makes them incredibly comfortable for extended wear, perfect for my long runs and workouts. The sound quality is impressive for the price point, delivering clear audio and powerful bass that keeps me motivated during exercise.

One standout feature is the built-in USB-C and Lightning cables in the charging case, eliminating the need to carry extra cords. This convenience is a game-changer for someone always on the go like myself. The 50-hour playtime is also noteworthy, as I rarely find myself needing to recharge.

The digital display showing battery usage is another great feature, allowing me to keep track of my power levels at a glance. The IPX4 waterproof rating gives me confidence in using these during sweaty workouts or light rain. Call quality is clear, making these suitable for both exercise and daily use.

However, the touch controls took some getting used to. Initially, they were insensitive, requiring multiple attempts to execute commands. With practice, I've improved, but it's something to keep in mind for potential buyers.

Overall, considering the price and features, these earbuds offer excellent value. They function well, sound great, and provide the comfort and convenience I need in my active lifestyle.

very comfortable great sound quality.

I love this style of ear bud because they don't go inside the ear. I lost the last pair I had while moving have no idea where they went, but thankfully I was able to find these and they work amazing. the sound quality is fantastic and they are so comfortable. One thing I will say is that if you are talking to someone on the phone thru the ear buds you will need to speak a little louder so they can hear you, but that is not a deal breaker for me. the Fact that they are very comfortable and they don't block my ears so I can still hear what is going on around me is what is most important to me. So if you are looking for ear buds that you can wear and still be able to hear sounds around you like traffic, or people talking or anything around you these are what you are looking for.

Comfortable, excellent voice pickup, clear soumd

These over-the ear headphones are light, comfortable and intuitive to use, with easy setup and responsiveness. On a recent phone call, my daughter told me that my voice came through more clearly than with my other, in-ear, headphones, and at my end, the sound clarity was very good, although slightly more hollow sounding than my usual headphones. Battery life is exceptional--I spoke with my daughter for over 2 hours and when I placed the headphones in the case it showed them at 94 percent charge. The headphones rest just outside the ear, allowing alertness to surroundings while cycling or walking, and the touch zone on the blue band is easy to access for answering and ending calls. Music is also easy to play, and the Bluetooth connection is quick and reliable. The device is supposed to be water resistant, not submersible. So far, no problems with sweat situations, and they stay firmly in place during vigorous activity. The case is about twice the size of regular in-ear headphones to accommodate the behind-ear loop. The case has digital readout inside the cover showing level and state of charge for each earbud. There is no indicator on the outside of the case, which is my only real complaint. Otherwise, these headphones perform as advertised, and they seem very well made and well designed and executed.

Wonderful sound and comfortable to wear

These open ear headphones sound wonderful. They have a lot of bass, even more than expected. They connect super easily to Bluetooth and arrive already charged and ready to go. They were packaged so nicely and are comfortable to wear. Great for workouts!

Same as all the rest. Empty Promises.

I have no incentive to do otherwise:

I'm truly tired of trying these no name Chinese wireless earbuds, whether they're in ear or open ear. They all make great promises, and none of them deliver on what is, to me, the most important feature...sound quality. These are no different.

The build quality is excellent. The case and the actual buds feel premium. That all got thrown out the window when I listened to these. And listened again. And again. Multiple times over multiple days with multiple devices. "Meh", is all I could give it. And that's where this review ends, because unless the music sounds good, I won't recommend any earbuds, these included.

Why did I give it 3 stars? Because they feel premium, they look cool, they're affordable with the current 40% off coupon, and they play sound. Maybe you're not as picky as I am, when it comes to audio quality.
