Registering product if purchased in the USA
Using the QR code to register asks for a Province and not a state yet slide 6 on the carousel a map of the United states has a drop down of Canadian Providences and not states. SO i think on the map a comment on Registration: if in purchasing for USA please select Other for Province.
A lil more complex to install than the 9 volters/AAs from Home Depot
Font on manual requires a magnifying glass. Should have a QR code to download manual or render on a browser for quicker install.
My last kidde combo alarm worked perfectly for years with regular 9 Volt replacement schedule and chirped twice after 2 months after end of life replacement date...so spot on there.
Be nice to see if this lasts to replace date with no regular battery changes...10 yrs baby!! An now we can set tasks in AI or just schedule things on a calendar app instead of sticking with changing the clocks time or Xmas or 4th. But it was nice to know that before LLMs and Ai Agents, that the product chirp timer pattern worked on a much older detector.
Product Registration was successful- confirmed with email.
Aside: Using blue and red on map to fill state boarders according to "State has CO Alarm Requirements" and "State has CO Alarm and Smoke Alarm Requirements" are American colors, but in these highly polarizing political times it looks like a GOP DEM map)

DON’T BUY - 4am LOUD Malfunctions
DO NOT BUY THIS!!!!
I’ve had this for less than a year. It keeps malfunctioning at the worst times. It should give a low chirp when the battery is low. However it is ridiculously loud. Even after I changed the battery it malfunctions. One of them was installed 14 feet high on a ceiling and it is 4am, my dogs are scared and my family can’t sleep. If I were in real danger, I wouldn’t know it unless I saw it with my eyes. Complete waste of money.
Buy something else.
Video shows what happens when it’s low battery (every 60 seconds).

Battery only
Despite description saying that it includes a wiring harness, it DOES NOT. This is a battery only model, not linkable

Poor quality control, 2 failed in 2 yrs
Purchased two of these, 10yr battery models. Both failed within 2 years. The first when into a fault alarm chirp in my 2 yr old sons room within a few mo tha of purchase. Today the second one kept kept setting off false smoke alarms. I tried blowing it out nothing. Hit the reset button and it would go off randomly later in the day. Had to take it and put it out in the garage incase it started going off when my other son was sleeping. It started going off and decided to try to permanently disable it, but the switch was jammed so i had to smash it with a hammer. Very disappointed in the quality control from this company.

Bad product.
Within a month, it dropped and broke into pieces while turning off the alarm and I no longer can return it. Bad experience. Supposed to last 10 years. I replaced the exact 1 year old defective one with this new one and I am very upset that I wasted $60.

Not good!!
I bought this alarm in October 2025, and it was defective. In December, right in the middle of the holiday season, I had to call the fire department because it was supposedly detecting carbon monoxide, but it was just broken. It didn't even last two months.

30CUD10 NOT HARDWIRED
30CUD10 IS NOT HARDWIRED! THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION IS WRONG!
I need to replace all of the hardwired detectors in my house so I spent quite a lot of time on black Friday trying to figure out what combination of detectors to order. I only need 3 of the combo units so this 3 pack of HARDWIRED detectors was perfect. Today I have the time to install all of them. The first box I open is the combo units to find out they are battery only! The prices have gone up so now I'm out more money. Time and money gone because it's too difficult to cut and paste the correct product data. Clown show.

WARNING: Listing shows a white detector - this is RED
I'm sure it works fine, but when your listing shows a white detector that goes with the average decor, and instead it is garishly RED, that's a bit disappointing...

False advertising. Not hardwired.
These are 100% battery operated NOT hardwired as the title claims. The product code matches the item but unfortunately it's false advertising. These are more expensive than some of the ones listed as battery operated too. Annoying 🙄

How to replace
I have an alarm that has started going off for no reason. I believe the alarm is defective. The return period has expired. I want to know what options I have for replacement? I had to disable it to stop the alarms from going off.

No green LED light
FYI: Since this is a 10-year battery only detector, do not be alarmed if there is NO green LED light constantly turned on. Kidde's wonderful customer service informed me this model won't have the usual green light, to conserve battery life.

Easy setup and test
AC maintenance man said low for carbon monoxide monitoring and high for smoke. Compromised just above door entering the kitchen from the hallway to the bedrooms.
Giving up legacy system from Vivint for stand alone, expanding Ring hardware.
Self install and test by old lady.
Don't be deceived by packaging. It's just one combo unit.

Good quality smoke and CO2 detector but I wish they would standardize brackets
The time finally came. Our smoke and carbon monoxide detector (also a Kidde brand) from 2010 finally died and we needed a replacement and the unholy chirp constantly reminded us. After reading various reviews from various online sources, we settled on this newer Kidde smoke and carbon monoxide detector with a sealed 10 year battery.
The detector itself was easy enough to install with the included bracket but my biggest gripe is that there is no bracket standard, not just between brands but within the same brand. So to install the new bracket I had to pluck the old wall anchors out and drill new holes for new anchors because the hole pattern was different. Very frustrating because a standard set of hole patterns would allow you to utilize the old anchor points, saving time. I'm too lazy to fill and repaint all the holes so the detector is covering up decades of various bracket holes.
Positives
+ Sealed unit with 10 year life so no battery replacements
+ Easy enough to install
+ Easy to test and see function by color coded LEDs
+ Detects both smoke and carbon monoxide
Negatives
- No bracket standard hole pattern means having to drill new holes and possibly remove old anchors

No more low battery beeps and battery changes each winter for a decade!
My old smoke detector would require a new 9 volt battery every yea to 18 months, and it typically happened in the winter, at night, when it gets a little colder in the house. It was infuriating and woke the whole house while I ripped it from the wall and tossed it in the garage until morning. Battery voltage tends to drop in the cold, like your car battery cranking more slowly in winter. This year, our old smoke detector started beeping and I put a new battery in it. But it started making a new beep pattern that indicated it needed replacement. It was 10 years and two months old, just over the 10 year listed life expectancy.
I chose the new KIDDE model which has an embedded no-replacement 10 year battery. You need to turn a small switch/screw on the back to activate the unit and it is advertised that it will function for 10 years. Time will tell but even if it works for 8 years, I would be fine without the need to change batteries and have beeping in the middle of the night that wakes my dogs who start barking and jerk me out of bed imagining the worst.
What I did not notice when buying it, was that it not only has beeps but "voice" alerts which I do not like. It is meant to provide a faster way to identify the threat type between smoke or carbon monoxide. Not my preference but hopefully I never need to hear it.

Dual function detector / alarm. 10 year battery pre-installed.
My review is on the Kidde 30CUD10 smoke and carbon monoxide alarm / detector.
I like that this unit is soft white in color with a mat finish so it will not reflect light and catch your eye when walking through the room it’s installed in.
This model has a built in 10 year lithium battery pre-installed. This battery is not replaceable. The days of these using a 9V replaceable battery are coming to a slow end. The 10 year battery is much nicer as all you need to do is test the detector once in a while over the years and not fear it will go off in the middle of the night and wake you up due to a dead 9V battery like the older models.
If you already have similar Kidde alarms / detectors in your home or business then this one will easily install to the old mounting bracket you already have. If not this one includes the wall mounting ring and screws required to mount it. Kidde does recommend that you install this one on a flat surface with no holes or gaps behind it so it will function as it was designed to do.
I also like that this unit utilizes the Photoelectric Smoke Sensor / Electrochemical CO Sensor types allowing this unit to quickly alert you of a potential hazard. Being a dual function detector also saves space since only one unit is needed to cover two potentially deadly alert functions.
The mounting ring measures about 5 ⅛ inches across so keep that in mind when deciding where to mount this unit. Just mount the bracket with the two included screws and then simply twist and click the unit in place inside the mounting ring. That’s it. Easy installation!
I like that this one comes with a molded dust cover that fits this unit perfectly. The dust cover is needed when construction is going on in your home to protect the unit from dust and debris that could enter the unit and alter the functionality of this product. Please remember to remove the dust cover after all construction has been cleaned up.!
This dual units main functions are as follows: Green LED flashes once per minute = alarm is working properly, 3 long beeps = smoke alarm activated, 4 quick beeps = carbon monoxide alarm activated, Amber LED blinks twice with 1 chirp every minute = low battery and Amber LED blinks twice with 2 chirps every minute = unit has reached the end of it’s life.
It’s always a good idea to read through the included instructions to familiarize yourself with this and similar products as these items can save lives. Understanding their functionality is important for you and your family.
There is nothing to dislike about this product and I would buy this product again in the future when needed.

East to Install and No Battery Changes Needed
No battery changes for ten years is fantastic, I Kidde you not! Seriously, when you have a two-story house with 12-foot ceilings, you are a huge fan of ten-year batteries! Anything to keep this old body from carrying and standing high on ladders…
According to the product listing, “LED lights indicate alarm status, green = normal operation, amber = operating error, red = smoke or carbon monoxide detected & a loud 85-decibel alarm will sound.” In other words, you get the same notification (red light and 85db alarm) for both smoke and carbon monoxide emergencies. I’m slightly worried that, if I’m awoken in the middle of the night by a red light and shrill alarm, I’ll be even more confused than usual and will take longer to figure out exactly what danger my family is facing. It would have been better to have differing notifications for fire and carbon monoxide emergencies.
When I first opened the box and saw the red orange plastic, I was horrified and immediately knew that my wife would not let me hang the gaudy alarm in our Victorian’s halls of elegance. Thank goodness the red plastic was just a removable dust cover! The alarm actually is fairly attractive and unobtrusive, and it doesn’t detract from our Victorian decor.
I have confidence in the Kidde name and expect the alarm to perform well and last for many years.

Perfect replacement
This is perfect replacement for our old smoke alarm, we built house 10 years ago so it is time to replace them plus the one we had before was kind of ugly and probably the cheapest builder can find. This looks so much better, works perfectly and synced with the rest just fine. Very loud, light is a huge plus of course, and it just gives us peace of mind. My husband has installed it in about 5 mins start to finish and said they are great quality. We put this in our loft, where kids playroom is at. Really great for what 10 years!

A Better Smoke Alarm
Smoke alarms are a simple and effective way to alert you to fires. This is also a Carbon Monoxide detector. The joy of this detector is that it has a LiPo battery with a projected, advertised, life length of 10 years. Use the included mounting gear and be done with worrying about low battery chirps. I will be dating the activation on the bottom of the device so I can check it in 2034.

Best detector out there!
KIDDE is a well known trusted brand. We have always used them. This detector has great features, like 10 year battery, smoke and CO, and a dust cover that fits well even upside down (I recommend keeping this so you can cover if you ever do a dusty home project). The mounting bracket and detector is designed such that it will activate when mounting (if you forget) but instructions say to activate with a screwdriver before securing to the mount. Only con is the size, there are slimmer detectors out there, but it’s white and blends in well.
