exceptional amp

This little fellow solved my problem perfectly. I needed a unit to which I could attach wired speakers to use with my computer, and after three futile research attempts I came upon the Kinter unit. I needed clamps to attach the speakers and this unit has four. Attaching my speakers, holdovers from a shelf stereo, was incredibly easy. I connected my computer to the unit through Bluetooth and voila! Beautiful sound, much better than the smaller computer speakers I was using. Kinter sent the item quickly and I was back in business. Wonderful amplifier. Small, but with a powerful punch...

Little Monster

Originally got to use for a passive subwoofer. But had issues with older stereo receivers ended up just using it for 2 right and 2 left speakers with the subwoofer. To my shocking surprise this compact size receiver is a monster. Had no clue my speakers sounded so amazing. Simple, easy to use, get the perfect control. For the price insane. Both of my old big bulk receivers are going to goodwill.

Great product!

This little device breathed new life into my two old speakers and Onkyo subwoofer. I connected it to my PC and now I enjoy rich 2.1 sound. The device comes with its own power adapter—what more could you ask for!

Shop audio - done!

Awesome amp, installed it in my shop with two outdoor speakers. Gets plenty loud and having bass and treble adjustments is a nice touch.

The Bluetooth is range on this things is astounding. I can walk in the house and still have perfect signal out in the shop. That's having to go through insulation, sheet metal, siding and more insulation roughly 25 yards away.

The amp is compact and easy to mount, the RCAs are a nice touch but personally I don't see a need for them. This amp can easily replace any head unit you might possibly hooked up to it.

The on/off switch is great as well, my old amp I had to unplug everytime I wanted to turn it off.

Just get and it be done the first time, trust me!

Amazing Sound Quality and Features! Love it!!!

I couldn’t be happier with this small amp! The sound quality is great. No noise at all and the Bluetooth connections are easy to set up and reliable. I’ve used it almost daily for a couple of weeks with no issues. The best feature for me is the high level out for subwoofers. I am able to bi-wire my speakers so that the woofers are driven by the sub out and the other wires go to mids+tweeters. So, instead of using bass/treble knobs (which work fine anyway), I have much more control with the separate volume for subwoofers. I think this amp has been very well thought out and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with the amp.

Great sound for such a compact amp

For Christmas I fixed up this old turntable/radio cabinet for my parents by putting a new turntable in it and replacing the speakers (with some Pioneer car speakers). I could have driven the new speakers with the original amp built in to the radio but it was pretty weak (only 16w per channel) and I thought a new amp would sound better. So glad I went with this one.

This amp was small enough that I could tuck it into this little nook inside the cabinet where you were intended to store records. Left enough room to spare to hide a cd player in there with it. Sounds great. Gets quite loud for such a little amp. Doesn't feel like it gets too hot, either, which was a concern given the low ventilation of the nook where I stashed this thing. Kinda wish it had a third input, but I made do with some radio shack adapters. Bluetooth is very nice, too. Pairs fast and easy. Highly recommended if you need a small amp for a project like this.

Exactly what I needed for the garage.

I replaced a 30 year old receiver/amplifier with this because one of the channels started to go out. I wanted something with a dedicated sub output since I have an old passive sub box from a different system. This thing thumps!! I get great separation and love the sub volume knob since I wake up early and need to keep the bass low or off.

The small form factor is a huge improvement over my old suitcase size amp.

It took me more time to zip up all my cables than it did to hook this guy up. Plugged my AirPort Express in and it’s good to go for airplay. Very pleased with this purchase. Would love to find one with 7.1 channels for the basement theater.

A likable garage amp

A quick review to state that this little amp has some of the best Bluetooth connectivity plus connects easily without reconnecting. The controls are what I wanted- an rca connection for my older tv and Bluetooth with a simple switch so my whole family can use it easily. Amp quality and sound volume are impressive for the cost, size of this little amp. I can easily hear the music over my treadmill on inwall speakers with little notable distortion.

Amazing mini amp

Powerful to run two Bose rotating cube speakers with more than enough audio volume. Love the many ports, Bluetooth, USB, RCA, even another set of speaker ports to run a subwoofer. The only subwoofer that I could find to be small enough for this computer (or TV) setup is for a car stereo system and I need to make a box to install it into. Have not done that yet but the options, power, sound quality and very reasonable price point (far less than a NY strip steak at a steak restaurant) make this amp a no brainer. Forget those cheap computer speakers and instead buy better quality small sized passive speakers to use with this mini amp.

Also - it is so cute it makes you want to buy several just to look at.

Makes a fabulous gift for a teen or young adult away at college.

Easy to install, bought an RCA to 3.5 headphone cable to attach to TV or laptop.

Performs way beyond its price

I'm not usually one to leave reviews, but this little amp has impressed me so much that I felt it deserved it. Last year we added a new back patio on to our home, and one of the upgrades we included was an outdoor audio system. While shopping for components, I couldn't justify the costs of some of the ready to go wireless/bluetooth audio systems I was seeing, so I decided to piece my own system together. After lots of research and google-fu, I decided to go with this Kinter amp for a few reasons: compact form factor, Bluetooth and wired input ability, and sufficient power output for my needs, and cheap enough that I wouldn't be upset if it didn't survive outside. I paired this up with a set of Polk Audio 8" outdoor ceiling speakers, and all in I'm only about $350 into my outdoor audio setup. All I can say is this combo has blown me away. Using my phone as the BT audio source and volume set to 50% on my phone and 50% on the amp, it's more than loud enough for us and crystal clear audio. If I turn my phone up to 100%, it's unbearably loud on the patio, and my neighbor that's more than 100yds behind us can hear it easily. I'd honestly be scared to know how badly it would blow my speakers out if I tried to go a full 100% on both ends. This thing has been going strong living it's entire life outside for the last 8 months, and has given me zero issues so far. I plan on picking up another one of these soon for the audio system I'm going to be installing in my workshop too.

Great cheap 2.1 for some old speakers

Compact, feels good quality, extremely easy setup. Have a couple of old speakers and no/blown amp? This thing is for you. Hooked it up to my PC via AUX and connected studio speaker on one channel, and old tower speaker on the other, currently bumping. Very easy and quick bluetooth connection when I just want to play music from my phone. Especially for the price this little ting is 5/5 stars in my book

Horrible small print instructions

The instruction manual is such small and fine print, I can't believe they seriously sent this tiny piece of paper and expects someone to be able to read it

Best 2.1 amp under $50 this unleashed the bass on my custom boombox and it's 2 ohm stable!

Crazy bass for the money! I tried 2 different Amos before this and so far this one is killer don't sleep on the deal

Good amp for $39 - used to power pc speakers and sub

I had a logitech speaker set (X-230) with subwoofer for my PC. The electronics developed a static that I was unable to fix. I bought the Kinter K3118-2.1 amplifier and hooked it up to the logitech speakers and subwoofer, bypassing the logitech amp. The system works. It sounds decent.

It doesn't sound as good as the original did, but no doubt logitech had the crossover frequencies tuned to the specific speakers. So it is not really fair to compare it to the Kinter. But I recylced the speakers and they sound about 4-star (out of 5-star). I think the amp is a good product and I would buy one again. Logitech wants crazy money for their systems that have any oomph.

I posted the pictures of the manual as I couldn't find them on the web anywhere for the 2.1 system.

The Mini Amplifier With The Big Attitude

The amps in the $25 - $35 price range are either just circuit boards or sandwich type cases (both of which look like high school science projects to me), and the price for the amps in full aluminum cases jumps to $70 - $80 – with most of those still requiring the purchase of a power supply. At $40, the Kinter K3118-2.1 is the happy medium with a full aluminum enclosure, a 19V 5-amp power supply, and dual Texas Instruments amplifier chips that provide all the juice I need for my DIY 2.1 system.

Both the power switch and the BT/LINE selector switch are solid and durable feeling and click audibly in a highly satisfying manner when toggled. The separate control knobs for the subwoofer, bass, treble, and master volume have a “just right” feel of tension to them with no sloppiness at all. Basically, the switches and knobs have the same feel to them as the switches and knobs on my far more expensive audio/video equipment inside my house. The Kinter K3118-2.1 really impresses me with a level of quality that belies its low cost. It’s nice to feel like I got more than I paid for once in a while, and I definitely feel that way about this amplifier. Connection can be done via Bluetooth or line, and both work flawlessly. In 2-1/2 months of use, it has never failed to connect to the Bluetooth on either my android phone or iPad, nor has it ever dropped the connections. I don’t think I own any other Bluetooth device that I can say that about, so pretty darn solid in that department. The speaker connectors are of the spring-loaded variety, and they clamp down on my 16-gauge wire tightly and securely. An interesting aspect of the K3118-2.1 that I didn’t see on any other 2.1 amplifiers is that the subwoofer is connected by bridge mode versus having some form of dedicated plug to facilitate the process. This is really neither good nor bad in my book, but it does require a little more work to make some splices to get a subwoofer connected.

PRO TIP: I am using low voltage landscape wire instead of actual “speaker wire”. Braided copper wire is braided copper wire, and low voltage landscape wire or lamp wire is much cheaper than “speaker wire”.

I built my speaker cabinets out of 1/2-inch MDF and used along with these surprisingly great sounding no-name wired to for my mains, and an for my subwoofer. According to the product description, I lose 10 watts per channel using 8-ohm speakers instead of 4-ohm, but 20 watts per channel is fine enough for me, and I prefer the lower heat generation of 8-ohm since this system is in my garage. The sound quality far exceeds my expectations, and I rarely turn the volume knob past the quarter mark to fill my 20 x 25 garage with crisp highs, solid midrange, and some satisfying low end punch. Movie soundtracks are also quite a surprise with sharp, clear dialogue and deep rumbling bass during explosions. The Kinter K3118-2.1 appears to be a high quality product that provides a lot of bang for the $40, and warrants serious consideration for anyone building their own mini system.
