Great keyboard and the lights are fun

I love clicky keyboards, the sounds are soothing. I needed a new one for work and didn’t want to spend a million dollars and I NEED a right side calculator. This one is wireless and wired. Fit my every need. The lighting is super cool and I love the overall colour as well. Has some weight to it and super good material

Keyboard light is already malfunctioning

Hi I just received my keyboard and one of the keys is lighting incorrectly. Has anyone had this issue?

A nice entry-level mechanical keyboard (with swappable switches!)

This is my first mechanical keyboard and I love it! Its feeling is so cream, and sounds good, not too quiet nor too loud. I used it at the office without disturbing my teammates. I like that I can swap switches in case of failure or just to change to another switch in the future (others keyboards and the same price couldn't). Software is a room for improvement, could be more intuitive, but, for my requirements (mainly coding) is worth it.

Amazing keyboard for an amazing price

It's really quite insane how good budget mechanical keyboards have gotten; this thing easily is 80% as good as the custom Nuphy Gem80 I have that was 2-3x the price. Size is great, especially the fact it's got a num pad and manages to still feel compact, and the weight is a nice balance between feeling sturdy without weight for weights sake; it feels strong and durable enough to last a while, but it's also not (uselessly) going to double as a weapon in a fight. The connectivity is also great for this price; Bluetooth, a 2.4g dongle, and wired support at this price is insane and again speaks to how good models in this price range have become!

Full Size Keyboard That Gets Everything Right

This was my first time using a mechanical keyboard, and feel like this one has been a great entry point. I was curious about them but didn't need to start with the higher end options that would never get used. It feels surprisingly premium for the price: it's heavier with a good solid weight, smooth key action, and that satisfying “creamy” sound everyone talks about. Definitely sturdy and well made, not the wobbly plastic you sometimes get at this price point.

I have no doubt it’ll hold up well over time. I’ve mainly used it wired through USB-C, but I tested the Bluetooth connection and it paired instantly with no lag, no weird delays, exactly what you'd want in a wireless keyboard.

This seems to have everything you need and nothing you don’t. The knob and media keys are handy, and you can cycle through multiple rainbow color patterns (which is fun if you like a little RGB flair like I do).

For someone new to mechanical keyboards, this one hits that sweet spot with excellent quality, and just the right touch of personality.

Awesome RGB effects and Heavy Full size keyboard (get it)

I’m really happy with this full size keyboard and glad I found it. First I like the colors it comes in. I was so torn between the vintage and blue/grey colors. The keys are buttery and solid. Or maybe velvety is the right word. Key presses feel satisfyingly heavy but without excessive travel. Click sound is medium low. What I and my kids really like is the RGB color/ action selection. There are a lot of modes to choose from (press down on the volume knob) and they just look great. I use it in wired mode with a MacBook. It’s nice and heavy and doesn’t move when in use. The only thing that wasn’t expected is the knob doesn’t control the volume on my Mac. Not a big deal as F11/F12 keys do. Anyway, I think you should get this keyboard because it’s awesome and a good value.

Very satisfying creamy switches

This is a very nice wireless mechanical keyboard. It feels high quality worth the price. It feels decently hefty and does not feel cheap at all. It is great for all keyboard needs such as gaming, working, or school. I very much enjoy the sounds of the creamy switches. They are not too loud however, they aren't that quiet neither. Instructions were pretty clear and easy but when connecting through bluetooth, pairing mode only lasted a certain amount of time and I could not get it to connect in time before it would stop pairing. It took a few tries or just completely holding the pairing buttons down the whole time even though instructions say you only have to hold them down for three seconds. Other than that, once paired I had no issues with connection and there was no lag. After the keyboard would fall into sleep mode, it would immediately reconnect at the click of a key. Other connection modes had no issues at all. Very nice keyboard and I recommend for anyone looking for a full sized keyboard.

Unbeatable keyboard for the price!

This is an incredible keyboard for the price. It works perfectly with the wireless dongle and on the wire with zero lag. The sound this keyboard makes is also very good. I'm not a super enthusiast but I genuinely love the sound. The feet hold it perfectly still on both smooth surfaces and XL mouse pads. The keyboard is well made and actually kind of hefty. While the chassis does flex a bit, it doesn't feel cheap. It's also the perfect size to be semi portable. At least as much as a full size keyboard can be. The battery life is also quite impressive and charges quickly.

Sounds amazing, but why not VIA?

This keyboard is wonderful. It uses both plastic and a touch of aluminum in its design. The aluminum is on the back, where you can switch between Mac and Windows, and also choose 2.4GHz or Bluetooth. On my unit, the USB-C port will charge the battery but does not stay connected on USB. It kept disconnecting when I was running the Kisnt 104 programming software, so I wasn’t able to make real updates to the board that way.

The bottom and top are plastic, but the RGB along the sides looks great. As with other Kisnt keyboards, the 2.4GHz receiver is cleverly tucked under one of the adjustable feet, which is a nice touch. I’m using the 2.4GHz connection rather than Bluetooth, and it’s been solid. The media buttons (play, pause, skip forward/back) work easily, though I couldn’t get the knob to function.

The biggest drawback is the proprietary software. It’s not very user-friendly, and it’s limited compared to what VIA offers. If this board supported VIA, it would be an outstanding value. Because it doesn’t, I have to take one star off.

That said, it’s still a great full-size option. It also features south-facing RGB and hot-swappable sockets, so you can customize with different switches if you’d like. The sound profile is lovely, and you can find plenty of typing tests online to get a sense of it.

Overall, this is a strong entry from Kisnt. If you want a full-size board, it’s a great pick, and they offer smaller layouts too if you don’t need the number pad.

Solid well designed keyboard

Well made standard 104-key keyboard.

Keyboard is full size so you aren't sacrificing any keys, and aren't dealing with crippled or butchered layouts like on 90% 85% 80% 70% 60% etc keyboards.

One of the most common tasks when typing is editing, which I'm doing for this review right now, using the arrow keys to move around and deleting words with the Delete key. With a standard 104-key layout this is simple. On one of those butchered layouts like an 85%? You have to move your hand completely off the arrow keys to reach the Delete key, ridiculous. The standard 104-key layout is definitely the way to go.

Keys themselves are very quiet for a mechanical keyboard. They'll never be as quiet as membrane keyboards by the very nature of it being a plastic switch hitting a plastic base, rather than a plastic cap pressing down on a soft rubber membrane, but as far as mechanical keyboards go, this is quiet.

The multimedia keys similarly use very quiet soft switches, something that's sometimes overlooked by other manufacturers.

Default set of included keycaps are standard size with normal taper and are comfortable to type on, and has a nice subdued white, gray, blue theme to contrast with the dark gray base.

Has three connection modes, USB, bluetooth, and a proprietary dongle that's hidden under the keyboard.

Battery is 4000mAH which is huge and should easily last over a year of use without the backlight.

RGB plague has infected this keyboard like so many others, but at least it's easy to disable it with the dial, and you can repurpose the dial to something practical like volume control.

This is way better made than many many many other keyboards that go for more than double the price that this does. Really good value for the quality, quite impressed by this keyboard.

Beautiful Keyboard With The PERFECT Sound

I got this keyboard for my eldest in the military, but after testing it, I want one!

The sound is just magical. I know keyboard sounds are very subjective, but this just sounds like heaven to me; perfection. The keys themselves have a great feel and it's a pleasure to press them.

All of the connection options (wired, 2.4 and bluetooth) all connect perfectly without issue. I was having issues at first with the bluetooth, but figured out I wasn't holding the keys down long enough for it to go into discovery mode.

It's full size, but slimmer than most keyboards I've had/seen, so has a reasonable desk footprint. It's weighty, but not as heavy as my 96% keyboard.

There's multiple rbg lighting settings, with lights, pulses and more that can be changed for both the keys and side lighting.

This is honestly a phenomenal keyboard for the price, and I wish I could find one just like it with a screen for myself! I think even if they had this one in a pink or white color option, I'd get it; as of now, there's only two color sets.

Large heavyweight full size mechanical keyboard that connects in several ways

I picked this up to replace the keyboard that came with my pc.

This keyboard is built very solidly and the keys have a very nice sound when typing. The bottom of the keyboard has a nice grip to it and can elevate the rear with the flip out extenders. The full size keyboard weighs in at 2lbs 7oz and that weight keeps it in place which works well for me on my desktop.

Like most mechanical keyboards, the keys are replaceable and this comes with a removal tool. The manual is very limited in the details or operation of the keyboards features. For example I looked for information on how to use the volume and had to go to the Q&A on the product listing to see how it is done. There is a Windows app that needs to be installed if you plan to use all of the features like color adjustments or function key programming.

The keys are fairly responsive but there are a few times that I have had a key or two that sticks even though the key is not pressed down. That may be in part to it just being new and needing to be broken in. I am using this on a USB cord but it does connect wirelessly to my PC I just prefer a cord. One of the nice features in the app is the ability to turn off the Windows key which for me is nice when playing video games and I don't have to worry about bumping it.

Overall this is one of the best value mechanical keyboards I have ever used. You get a lot of features at this price. The only negative I have with it is that it requires an app to get the full experience.

Solid, Feature-Rich Keyboard

This is a nice keyboard overall. It has a good solid weight, which makes it feel substantial and less likely to slide around on the desk.

The RGB lighting is plentiful, with multiple patterns to choose from. I connected via the included dongle, and it paired right away without any issues. The multifunction knob didn’t default to volume, so I had to check the instructions to learn how to switch it, but once set, it worked as expected.

Typing feels satisfying. The keys don’t require much force, and while they don’t have the tactile click of some mechanical switches, they’re smooth with a pleasing thud when bottoming out. They’re not silent, but the sound is more solid than sharp.

I haven’t tested hot-swapping the switches yet, but the included keycap puller works fine, and it uses standard keycaps, so customization should be straightforward. The instructions mention several Fn key functions, though none are labeled on the keyboard itself. You’ll want to keep the manual handy as a reference if you plan to use those shortcuts.

Overall, it’s not the best mechanical keyboard I’ve ever used, but for the price and features, it’s a solid option that delivers a good balance of performance and flexibility.

So close to perfect! Highly capable 104 key mechanical amazingly built but under-served by software

Affordable mechanical keyboards are hard to find in the "full" form factor; not only have larger keyboards fallen out of style, they tend to cost well over $100 even for the "budget" or mid-range brands that have become prominent in the market. This Kisnt KN104 is priced so well I wondered what could be wrong with it - but as I tested it more I became very impressed, especially with its build quality and internals. I'm not even a fan of linear "thocky" as I personally prefer tactile - but the creamy keys on the Kisnt are so very good I might want to keep it with its stock switches! Typing is comfortable and accurate, though the keycaps' edges are on the sharper size, staying in line with the "retro" aesthetic of the color scheme's theme. Keycaps are completely opaque so the only light you get from the RGB will be what comes out beneath them. The build quality is every bit up there with the likes of Epomaker, Aula, Redragon, or Ajazz. The casing does rely on pry tools to open it rather than screws. There's also an extra backplate that can be removed which serves to keep the mode switches in place, but also doubles the back wall which may affect some modding scenarios - for instance requiring more cutting work or allowing for a cleaner look. Functionality is also on par with other midrange mechanical keyboards - the usual wired USB/bluetooth/2.4ghz dongle connectivity, removable keycaps and standard switches. In addition to the standard full keyboard layout there is a volume dial which is clickable for mute, as well as 3 media buttons: play/pause, forward and back. Lighting modes are about the standard ones expected with these midrange manufacturers, and I get at least that one common mode that is reactive when illuminated, with the key fading out.

So this was all looking really good and I was about to give it an easy 5 stars, but then I found this keyboard's biggest weakness - the software. For due diligence I went to get the customization driver to make sure key programming worked. Unfortunately, this keyboard does not let you customize the function layer fully, and on top of that, there is only ONE function layer! Despite the Kisnt KN104 using the same basic generic driver software as all the other midrange mechanical makers - their variant is limited to only one function layer rather than the usual two, and you CANNOT reassign anything that already has a function shortcut! For instance Fn+Insert and Fn+Delete change the lighting mode and light color - Even if the software appears to allow it, the change will not take and allow you to customize the Fn+ assignment for these keys. Had the software had 2 Fn layers I'd just use Fn2 to work around this but it's not there - making this doubly frustrating. For someone like me who likes to assign a lot of functions to the middle section with those keys and the numpad - this would be a personal dealbreaker. However non-power users may not have an issue with this and I realize that so I'll only be docking one star, since having at least 2 function layers is standard at this point - which even then isn't ideal compared to QMK/VIA keyboards that let you have *4* by default.

Ultimately the $70 asking price for a full layout mechanical keyboard with all the features this has - is an excellent value. This might have been one of my favorite outliers on the way to being a favorite brand had there not been the customization limitations of the software. Intentional or not, it does affect usability so definitely consider if that impacts your usage when deciding to buy or not.

Spiffy Brain

I didn't realize how badly I needed this keyboard. I'm in 104-key heaven.

I knew I'd like it. I didn't know I'd love it. This thing is SOLID. Feels substantial and high quality. Nice clicky-clacks without being IBM crazy loud. The switches are just the right kind of travel and resistance, the look is cool and clean - chunky, but not like it's trying to hard to be "retro." The layout is my style, very reminiscent of the old Keytronics 101s and later the 104s we used to sell back in my computer shop during the Win 3.11 to Win 95 days. All the full-sized keys are just in the right spot for my muscle memory. Nice!

I'm not wild about the RGB lighting. It's not my thing, so I simply disable it. I intend to use this with my retro 233MMX machine but also maybe with a Raspberry Pi distractionless writing environment. My only knock is really against myself, not the keyboard. I've become so used to my Mac Pro keys, that a full travel mechanical keyboard is actually a re-adjustment. Worth it!

This keyboard connects to anything, neatly accessible switches control Mac or Win and the connection protocols. I have no idea how long the battery lasts - haven't hit that limit yet in a few hours of use (with the RGB off).

Feels different, but I'm starting to like it.

Initially, I was a bit disappointed with the feel of this Wireless Mechanical Keyboard. I had hoped for a key-break similar to a Cherry Blue switch, where the resistance gives way at the actuation point. With these keys, however, the resistance is continuous throughout the keystroke until the key bottoms out. Activation occurs about midway through the travel. However, I'm quickly getting used to it. The typing feel is unique, but not mushy

The keyboard overall has a good weight to it; it doesn't feel cheap but isn't overly heavy either.

I appreciate that the keyboard offers three different connectivity options: USB with the included USB-C to USB-A cable for connecting to a PC or charging, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz using a small dongle stored in the keyboard's base. While I am not using the Bluetooth function, the other two work as intended. The box also contains a manual, a key-puller tool, and some spare keys. The sound the keys make is from the key bottoming out, which I prefer to the feel of a membrane keyboard. While I have rarely used the dedicated media and volume keys, they could be a welcome inclusion for those who would use them.

In my opinion, the light sequences are pretty much a gimmick. That said, it gives you 20 sequences plus being able to change the colors for each sequence the brightness of the lights and the speed of the sequence., so it is very flexible. I personally like the one where just the key you pressed lights up briefly in a single color. I find this particularly useful when entering passwords and I'm not sure what key I just hit but I can look down and see the fading color to know if I hit the correct one.

I also like the retro beige color scheme of the keyboard. It reminds me of my youth when I would work on an IBM 3270 terminal. However, if they wanted to stick with that particular vibe, they should have made it so clicky that it almost goes ka-chunk with every key you hit.

This keyboard is not without its flaws. If I were asked to improve the product, there is one thing I would change. The alternate functions of the function keys are not printed on the keys themselves. While the manual does list them, the lack of on-key legends is an annoyance. The reason for this, I believe, is that the functions are different for Windows and Mac. Given the price, I think it would have been reasonable to include two sets of keys to account for both operating systems. I was able to correct this with a label maker (as shown in the attached image), but it was a tedious process that I should not have had to do.

Even with this flaw, I feel that this keyboard has become my favorite. It is a little bit pricey, but the overall quality and features make it a worthwhile product.

I am obsessed

I LOVE this keyboard. First off the color scheme is so cute. I need a full size keyboard for my job so I’m glad it is full sized. The key sound is top notch and I can’t stop wanting to type just to hear it. lol. It has 3 different options for use, wired, Bluetooth or wireless. The keys are a great size and I am able to use with longer nails with no issues. This feels amazing quality and is simple to figure out! The lighting is an amazing touch as well and is adjustable! I would purchase this 100 times over. I do wish there were more color options though.
