Not impressed. Still under warranty and have been ignored about complaint.

Not working right after warranty expired. A little of 1 year.I found out it’s covered for 3 years by Kliq

Bulky, hard to read

I got this to use with a ukulele and regret it. The size and weight are very noticeable when using on a small and light instrument. The screen is difficult to read unless you are at a specific angle. I don’t use any of the modes because it is too hard to tell what mode you are in. It does tune, but there are smaller and cheaper options that I will stick with in the future. Issues might be less noticeable on a larger instrument.

The tuner is very good, however I had a very lacking customer service experience.

The tuner is very good, however I had a very lacking customer service experience. The Kliq Ubertuner has a small round "foot" in the clamp that has a rubber pad on it. The pad is glued onto the foot and at some point, while using this tuner on a few guitars, the rubber pad on the foot fell off with no one noticing. This seems like something that could/would be common with this design, so I contacted Kliq via Chat about replacement pads which they said they do not offer. I then asked about their warranty - "3-YEAR WARRANTY: In the unlikely event the KLIQ UberTuner breaks or stops working, we'll replace it or give you 100% of your money back, no questions asked." and was told that losing a part does not constitute a breakage. I agree - but the glue letting go during normal usage and allowing the pad to fall off does. That should be designed to have the pad clip in somehow in addition to glue or this is likely to occur, and a better glue/epoxy should be used.

After a bit more back and forth, I was asked to provide a picture, which I did, and the customer service rep then just went silent and ceased responding. I pinged a couple more times in the chat, but gave up after 45 minutes of nothing.

The pad is important to prevent scratching up a finish, especially on a nitro-finish guitar. The leftover glue is not completely smooth so I would not want to use it as is on any nicer guitars. I would expect that they should be able to replace the pad (or warranty the tuner if not) given that it is a design/assembly concern, but was told they could not help me before being ghosted when I replied to their later request for a photo.

In short - very good tuner in terms of functionality, but check it carefully after every use as you're out in the cold for something simple like the pad letting go. Customer Service was dismissive overall and ceased communication once the picture they requested was provided - a very poor showing. Even if they would not help, after receiving the picture they requested there should have been some response. And as to the "no-questions" warranty - apparently it's just marketing rhetoric and there is nothing behind it.

Too bad I can't rate the functionality, assembly, and customer service individually. Averaged it out to 3ish stars.

BROKE THE SECOND TIME USING IT

I had this for less than one week. It worked well the first time using it. Then went to use it again and the top fell off. I tried everything and it won’t work again. Not worth the price I paid for out to break after the first use.

Beautiful Form, Questionable Quality

I purchased it back in 2022 when I first got my guitar, and loved it for the time it operated; however, within 3-4 months, the LED screen slowly dimmed to the point of being unuseable. Eventually I had to look across the screen to make out the note and pitch. I was primarily frustrated because I used the tuner sparingly, it sat on the shelf beside the guitar for almost it's entire life. I'm sure this is a rare quality issue, most likely fixed in newer iterations, but I was left wanting.

This tuner fights you every step of the way

First, the button to turn on is not at all convenient. It's actually difficult to turn it on. Second, there is probably a "way" but once I adjust the Mhz from 440, I could NOT get it back to 440. Third, mine came with the screen already burned in. Normal? I doubt it. It's just a hassle, not at all user friendly. I do think it's accurate - but others much much easier (Fender's) are also.

Lasted Four Years

Got what I paid for. It simply quit working about 1-2 weeks ago. I put 3-4 new batteries in it, testing them beforehand. It simply will not turn on anymore.

Tight grip, accurate tuning. Angle?

It's a little iffy on the angle, kinda hard to read if it's not square. But it's solid, excellent grip. Good value.

Low E and A are consistently showing as being too low

I have a fender and use GuitarTuna as a backup to check. This Kliq is always reflecting that Low E and some A need to be tighter and thus causing those two strings to be too high when checked with other devices. I can adjust on my end by knowing that but the fact that it is not accurate makes me question the overall accuracy.

Perfect

Insert battery that is included: 5 seconds later, 5 string bass low B is tuned. And you can use it without glasses ;) If you need something to help tune those low notes, this is a champ!

KLIQ Tuner last less than 3 months and then fails.

KLIQ tuner costs way more that other similar tuners. Purchased it in hope that can last a couple years (other cheep ones I purchased all lasted about a year). Big mistake. I received the KLIQ tuner on May 2, 2021. It started to fail in July 2021. After it is turned on, it turns off immediately.

I contact the the product support. Got an immediate response suggesting that the battery may need to be replaced. I was pissed off that the original battery only lasts less than 2 months, but still hope it will work after replacing battery. Too bad, after put in a new battery, it behaves the same.

I took a 7 second video and send to the KLIQ support/seller showing the failure. The support/seller never respond. Not to mention 3-year Guarantee listed in its product.

Update (on July 27, 2021):

The video sent to seller was on July 22. This review was submitted on July 25. Seller responded on July 26 and asked for my address and said that will send me a replacement. I hope I just had bad luck on this specific tuner. I will update this review afterI receive the replacement.

Not-So satisfied.

I'm a musician, and I've used many tuners that I was satisfied with, and some I was not-so satisfied with, and this is on my "Not-So" list. I put in the battery, read the instructions and thought I was ready to tune some gear, but after using it to tune one of my 6 string Acoustic guitars, it just failed. My bass had the same results. You're better off tuning it by ear, or finding a tuner that works, and proven at a guitar or music store.

Works well and display is easy to read

I've used this on a French Horn, Cello and a Acoustic guitar so far. Readings are reasonably quick and easy to read from wide viewing angles. Transposition modes are also a plus for when I switch from concert pitched instruments to my French Horn. The clip also stays attached well on even slick (freshly polished) metal surfaces.

Very convenient. Seems pretty accurate.

Make sure you take out the battery in the clear packaging before you get rid of the box and packaging. It doesn't ship inside the tuner.

UberTuner: KLIQ Music Gear Clip On "Every Guitar Player’s Tuning Dream"

Wow! The KLIQ Music Gear clip on (UberTuner) is an amazing remarkable and extraordinary device with ultrafast response, high sensitivity sensor and has versatile tuning modes. As the label truly describe, it produces fine tuning with beautiful display of colors and lighting that marks tuning with absolute A1 Accuracy. I would say “AAA1 Accuracy.” Wow! You will be more interested in tuning your guitar instead of playing it – Lol.

The KLIQ Music Gear, displays multi-colors of yellow on left side of monitor and reddish orange on right side. It display light greenish blue and white alphabetical letters in center. Colors are exactly as advertised.

I am a beginner guitar player and this tuner far exceeds the cheap tuner that came with my guitar. Get it quickly – without delay! Otherwise, you will not have as much fun as I am. Look no more - Get it now! This is a Lottery Winner!

This is every guitar player’s tuning dream……. You'll love it!

Major Disappointment

I was looking for a clip-on style tuner that wasn't a Snark, due to 2 bad experiences with their tuners. According to the reviews on this item it seemed like a solid alternative, although it's a bit more expensive. I don't mind paying a bit extra for a quality product, however.

At first it seemed great. Well made. Easy to read, bright display. Very strong clip. Accurate. But after just one day of using it, the arm that extends from the clip would no longer stay put. The display slips away from view. Incredibly annoying. If I'm very careful, I can balance it just right, but I shouldn't have to do that at all. I looked to see if there was a screw I could tighten, but there's not one visible.

Maybe mine is defective? It's a shame though because otherwise this tuner checks all the boxes it should for a quality item. But what's the point if you can't even read the thing!

StreetCamper

Large easy to read display.

This tuner seemed a bit pricy but it's well worth paying a little more. The clamp is sized perfectly, a bit wider than most and articulates easily for a good view. I am quite pleased with this device.

Why didn't I buy this a long time ago?

I'm very impressed, it has proven that all my guitars were out of tune...

Only one problem, now I want to buy a couple more of these KLIQ tuners.

Great clip-on tuner, glad I bought it!

How did i not know about these sooner?

This is so much better than tuning with my phone or guitar pedal. It's way more accurate and convenient since you can tune your instrument in loud places or while other music is playing. Really awesome.

Edit: I also love how I can tune to A446 for songs that are slightly sharp or slightly flat. That is SO HELPFUL.

Michael

but so far so good.

It arrived, plopped in the battery, which came with it, snapped it on to the head stock of my acoustic guitar, pressed the button and voila! I also use it on an acoustic bass and it's able to handle the low E string.

I have not tested it under battle conditions, but so far so good.

I NEED MORE IN A TUNER THAN MOST

UPDATE: I still like it and bought another just because it is so huge and easy to see

A guitarrón is a 6-string bass guitar used in mariachi bands. Large, hangs from a strap like a guitar, a portable upright bass, acoustic. Like an upright bass, it is fretless and heavily strung. Guitarrón players characteristically double notes, simultaneously playing the same note on two strings, different octaves. More than simply tuning the guitarrón, I want to know in practice I am playing every fretless note and every double clean.

The UBERTUNER has a large clamp with a swivel face on one jaw so the jaws close securely and parallel on whatever, even a fat guitarrón headstock. The display is very large and bright and swivels so I can see it. Did I say bright? High visibility even outdoors (not direct sun). It stays lit as long as you play notes and turns off if you stop. It works chromatically from A0 to C8, picking up the whole guitarrón Range. Tuning: A1 D2 G2 C3 E3 A3. Some reviewers say it is not accurate. For a "clamp-on" I find it very accurate (this is acoustic---inline tuners on electric instruments may do better).

Checking two notes simultaneously, it will flicker if both aren't right. I may have to drop one or the other note momentarily if I get a flicker to see which is off. Keeps me tuned. Tells me if I'm getting sloppy before anyone else notices.

Responsive and Accurate Tuner

I am completely new to this. As a matter of fact, I just picked my first guitar two days ago, but a tuner was a must have tool. I ordered both Yamaha GCT1 and this KLIQ ubertuner, but Yamaha seems to be a little less sensitive on high pitch E string (#1). I have to strum that one harder for Yamaha to pick it up (as seen in the last two pictures). Accuracy wise, both are very nice tuners. I think KLIQ is a touch faster, but it is hardly noticeable. Overall, I like KLIQ better. It has a colorful auto-dim screen and is smaller. It's definitely not uber in size! I just wish it was a bit cheaper, and they included a velvet pouch or a small bag for it.

Works great on saxophone

I'm just starting to learn the soprano saxophone and the intonation is quite difficult to get right. This tuner helps tremendously while I work on my intonation.

One important feature of this KLIQ tuner over other tuners like the is the transposition feature. The soprano and tenor saxophones are in the key of Bb, which means when you play the fingering for a C, the concert pitch that they actually play is a Bb. The alto saxophone is in the key of Eb. The KLIQ tuner can transpose these notes so that it displays the note that you are fingering. The Snark tuner can only transpose the displayed note 4 half steps down because it is designed for placing a capo on a guitar. Thus it will only cover instruments in the key of Db, D, Eb and E.

Perfect for an older Guy!

Very nice tuner. Older guy here and needed an easy to read tuner (big letters). Works great on a dimly lit stage or home in the studio. Secure clip on assembly. Well made. AND they sent me a thank you message for buying their product and a PDF of the manual which is great! Now that's the way we should all be doing business!!! Good job, highly recommended.

Amazing customer Service

I bought this tuner out of pure curiosity, because I though it looked cool. I used it for a weekend full of gigs and no major complaints, bright display sharp tuning etc. only minor complaint is that my instrument (Mexican Vihuela, 5 string guitar used in Mariachi music) slightly rattled while the tuner was in and the tuner is a bit big to have it in your pocket. However once i was walking to my car I dropped it and sadly it broke. Laura from kliq sent me an email asking me how I was liking the tuner. I let her know that it was great but that sadly it had broken. They sent me a brand new tuner over night! Amazing!!!

Great Tuner!

Great tuner! I bought the "other One", the round one and when it died, it DIED! This one works really well, its' strudy and I can use it to tune my ukuleles, my baritone uke and my bass guitars and U-Bass. It's more expensive but I think this one is really accurate. It's very easy to read, even in sunlight. As a professional musician and singer, I'd really recommend this tuner. Great value for the price especially. It's sturdy enough that when I add my McGyber-ed, home-made music holder, it stays steady and strong and hasn't busted. Yet. That's a lot of pressure to put on plastic so I'm impressed!

Easy to see, easy to use, I LOVE this tuner

KLIQ, without having to be asked, e-mailed me a readable copy of the minutely printed instruction sheet that comes in the tuner carton. This made all the difference to a quick start with the new tuner. The separately packaged battery (similar shape and near the size of a quarter) must be fit into a little drawer which is then inserted into the tuner. Being able to read and follow KLIQ's good directions produced success on the first try. Installing the battery was not at all difficult once I had read the directions. Did I mention you NEED TO READ THE DIRECTIONS before attempting to install the battery? Good! Just wanted to make sure everyone notices that installing the battery by guess and by golly will likely end badly. There are three buttons on the side. It is important to identify the power button and, again, read the directions. Just tapping will not turn on the tuner. You must press and hold the power button for two seconds or so until the face lights up -- a nice safeguard against an accidental bump. This tuner is superbly designed to be clearly visible from a distance even more than arm's length. When the yellow is lit, the note is flat; red means sharp. When only the green circle is lit, the note is right on. The tuning seemed to be fine for playing with my group. I'll leave the fine point of whether the tuner actually tunes to 440-A to the science guys. Sounded fine to me though and I don't have a tin ear. The tuner and clamp are of sturdy plastic construction with some metal parts. If your instrument has a scroll head, this clamp may not have room to fit. I found that the clamp cannot attach to my dulcimer which has a very wide scroll head, but does fit the dulcimer with the flat head, the home made banjo, and the folk harp. Placement on the harp should be on the pillar above the soundbox as pictured. The thick rubber pads on the feet of the clamp give promise of long-lasting protection for the instruments' finish. Since I am vision impaired, it is a delight to finally have a tuner that I can read easily from as far away as arm's length: no need to bend and peer. And this tuner is bright enough to be easily useable in stage light. The viewing angle is adjustable with a nicely designed joint. Once adjusted, the tuner stays put. I would recommend this tuner to anyone playing a fretted instrument with a flat head. It doesn't fit on my dulcimer with the wide scroll head; but will probably fit narrower ones such as violin scrolls. There are some features I have not tried, so I will leave them to others. I have been using tuners of various types for many years and this baby is definitely going to be my favorite. The price is right. The weight is negligible. And the battery required is available at local stores. One point: I didn't check if it turns off automatically. Until I get around to reading that part of the directions, I shall just try to remember to shut it off by holding the power button 'til the screen goes entirely dark after use. If it doesn't shut off automatically, that probably ought to be the next upgrade along with a clamp that accommodates all types of scroll headed instruments. Lovely tuner! Nice design job, whoever invented this is brilliant!!!

Collin Wood

fabulous tuner!

My husband once told me that all things should follow the KIS law (keep it simple), and this little beauty does just that. It simply clamps onto my violin and after plucking the string tells me graphically on the display if it's in tune, and if not, it tells me how to get there. If you love making music this is for you, you won't have to spend a long time prepping to start doing the thing you love. After having used many other tuners, this is definitely the best one I've used yet.
