Remote stopped working less the. 2 months after purchasing. Received a new one in the mail through warranty but it also doesn’t work/pair with the projector. A brownish-orange glow has appeared on the screen distorting the color of the image thrown. I’ve had it for less than a year l, stored in a clean non humid environment. Absolutely regret purchasing.

A smart, bright projector that packs a punch!
KODAK FLIK HD9 Smart Projector is bright, clear and portable! At about 5"x 4"x 6", this little smart travel-friendly projector packs a punch. The video and sound quality has exceeded our expectations. We are later adding a sound system, but for this compact Kodak FLIK HD9 Projector, one is not needed as the speaker does emit very clear and loud sound, good enough to reach around a good size living room without distortion.
Without going into tech or specs, leave that to the original site/ad, I will just highlight some of the features that are interesting and note worthy.
PACKAGING: Shipped quickly, was a small tight package, which when opened, you are greeted with the KODAK manual. Further peek into the box, exposes how well the projector was shipped with great care in mind, with a second box along side of the well-protected unit.
CONTENTS include project unit, remote ( requires 2 AAA batteries, not included), power cord with AC adapter and manual.
LIGHTWEIGHT: This KOADK FLIK HD9 weighs in at 2.2lbs! (Talk about portable)!...and SMALL...fits in the palm of my hand.
NETWORK COMPATIBILITY is 2.4GHz AND 5GHz!
PROJECTION SETTINGS ( Keystone, vertical, horizontal, zoom and more) via remote on-screen.
FULL HD 1080p resolution! Images can project up to 120". ( Exceptional quality in the darkest room up to still very good clear, crisp images in the daytime. Outdoor night-time viewing is also exceptional but outdoors daytime is nearly invisible, unless you sit right on top it or in a shady area). TIP: Remember, the LARGER the image, the darker the room needs to be.
SOUND / AUDIO can be accessed from the internal speakers or via AUX port or even use BLUETOOTH. You can deliver more powerful sound using Bluetooth speakers or AUX port for wired speakers.
REQUIRES network connection for initial setup and for Google play store, to download apps and install into the unit. Once installed the internal system has built-in android TV to launch the apps ( no USB dongle required).
BACK OF THE UNIT has the USB, DC in, HDMI ports with the IR receiver and AUX input ( for headphones, external sound systems, etc)
TOP OF UNIT has a leather carry strap ( handle) and power button. More towards top front is the MANUAL FOCUS dial to get the picture to its best image.
UNDERSIDE OF UNIT has a 1/4” threaded base for mounting on a tripod or similar.
NO MANUAL KEYSTONE CORRECTION that many are familiar with when it comes to projectors, only auto, which is accessed via remote, on-screen.
REMOTE CONTROL includes GOOGLE ASSISTANT, NETFLIX and PRIME VIDEO buttons to name a few.
For such a small, nearly handheld ( in my hands that is), this KODAK FLIK HD9 Projector EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS!! Well-designed, good solid sturdy construction, bright crisp clear images with very good internal sound, make this the best portable projector yet!
Highly Recommended!! A solid 5-STARS*****
Thank you for reading and looking.

Well made with a lot of nice features
I’m glad to see that Kodak is still around and making quality products. This 1080p projector from them packs a lot of nice features into a very small package, and for a very reasonable price. It’s size and lightweight construction makes it much easier than a lot of comparable projectors to fit onto a mounting shelf and it also has a 1/4” threaded base for mounting on a tripod or articulating arm. It has HDMI and USB ports (one of each) in the back but since it features wifi and built-in streaming apps and capabilities, you may not even need the wired inputs (other than for something like a Blue Ray player or other device without wifi).
The fact that it’s an Android-based streaming platform is another standout feature. For instance, Roku no longer offers Google Play (or Google TV as it’s now called), at least not directly (without screen mirroring), and this does.
It’s very easy and intuitive to set up and adjust (especially if you’ve dealt with projectors before) and there are clear instructions in the very nice included manual. There’s an exterior focus adjustment wheel on the top and the picture keystone/tilt, placement, and size/zoom can all be adjusted through the settings menu. It also has a very nice set of built in speakers, a 3.5mm audio output, and Bluetooth speaker connectivity as options for the sound.
With adjustments, the picture quality is better than a couple of other “true HD” projectors I’ve tried (on an 8k capable screen) but at 1920x1080p resolution, don’t expect this to look like a 4K tv…this is intended to be more of an easy to use streaming projector than a cinema-quality movie projector. As such, this projector is exceptionally well designed, has a lot of nice built-in features, it’s easy to use, and it’s the most compact and portable projector I’ve seen (at least for one with this set of features). For a projector in this resolution class, this is a solid five stars.

Good for camping, great for keeping kids busy
I would not use this as a main home theater projector. It's not bright enough and clarity is good but not great throughout.
For the price this little portable projector is fun to use and great for keeping kids entertained.
You really need to have this in a dark room or late at night once it's dark out. This really gets washed out quick when there's some light.
The operating system works really well, it connects and plays everything seamlessly and haven't had any issues at all with it's operation.
The inside of the lens looks dirty but doesn't appear to affect the image quality though there are some areas that appear slightly blurred compared to other areas. I'm not sure if that's because of the smudge on the inside of the lens or because it's a cheaper projector and doesn't have the same clarity from edge to edge.
Conclusion, for what this is meant to be it's a great little projector perfect for occupying kids at the campground or wherever. Since this is what I'm using it for I'd definitely look at getting this again and would recommend to others. Again, I would not recommend this as a home theater projector unless you're on a tight budget for a system. It just doesn't have the lumens, sounds options or image quality for a permanent theater solution.

Great portable projector - almost perfect
So for a portable projector this is a great. The build quality is high, when I look at the device it doesn't look like a plastic toy to me. The picture quality is good, you use the projector position itself to adjust the picture in addition with the zoom function in the app. The remote is easy to pair. All the streaming apps are at your fingertips along with the google store. I used it for 4 hours straight with an HDMI input wire with no overheating issues. I had it pointed at a wall at about 80 inches. It will make a great travel projector.
The things it doesn't have:
- Doesn't come with anything but fancy Remote and power bar
- There is no internal battery
- No additional wires because it has a strong app interface
- Not super bright, but typical for small portable projectors (just know what you getting) The ANSI Lumens are 200, I wish it was 250-300, but in a dim environment this thing works great.
Pros:
- Strong App interface presence (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc)
- Very portable, I have mine sitting on a projector tripod
- Great picture (In dim environments)
- No problems configuring network at 5 gigahertz (which is rarer for projectors, usually 2.4 giga)
Note: You have to log in with a google account. Also, there is an update out there for the projector, make sure you download and install that.

More Than I Expected
This is a really well built portable projector, and I like its compact size and its attractive, retro styling. With its upright design and leather handle, it resembles the old Kodak Brownie cameras. It's lightweight and fits in the palm of my hand, standing about 6" tall.
The camera came well packaged with a manual, lengthy power cord, and remote (2 AAA batteries NOT included). The remote control is necessary to interact with the projector, as the only button on the device is the power button on the top of the machine. After turning on the machine, you can follow along in the manual to set everything up. While it is an Android device, it is easily setup with either an Android device or through a manual setup for non-Android users. The projector does require a network connection for initial setup, and obviously all the downloaded streaming apps will require that you be connected to use.
*It's worth noting that they licensed the KODAK name for this device, but HAKOmini is the device name in both the manual and on the network.*
This projector connects to the GooglePlay Store, so you can download any number of apps to install and use on the projector. I was able to easily download, login into, and watch YouTubeTV, Disney+, PrimeVideo, etc. without issue. The projector allows you to sideload apps using the USB port in the back of the device and connect additional equipment, like video game hardware or DVD players using the HDMI port. I did not try using either ports.
I also downloaded the AppScreen app from the GooglePlay Store to allow ApplePlay on the device. One of the things we want to use the projector for is mirroring the content on our phone screens. I had some issues connecting with AppScreen, but those were application issues, not projector issues. I was able to get it to work successfully and shared video from iPhotos on the projector.
The projected picture is crisp and clear. The colors are vivid, and the projected image can display an HD image up to 120". There is a dial on the top of the camera near the front for manual focus to make sure that your projected images looks as great as it should. It has built-in speakers that are pretty good and the ability to connect an external speaker either with an aux cord or via Bluetooth.
This projector is fantastic, and I highly recommend it. Definitely more than I expected out of the box.

Crisp picture and vibrant colors
I was using the projector in the afternoon with most of the curtains closed in the video that I uploaded. The picture has very good contrast, saturation, and brightness. The picture is clear, even with light bleeding into the room. It's even better at night, when the room is pitch black.
I'm using an 84-inch projector screen for my movie room and the outdoor canopy. I place the projector about 90 inches from the projector screen. That gives me a screen size of 80 inches across without having to zoom in or out.
The projector is easy to set up and use. There are two separate buttons on the remote to access the adjustment settings for the picture and sound. I really like that this uses a pop-out menu that stays on top of the picture so I can make adjustments on the fly. I'm able to readjust very quickly when using the projector in different rooms and the outdoor canopy.
Casting my Android phone and my sister's iPhone was straight-forward. Same with pairing my Bluetooth speakers and soundbar. Connecting and pairing devices to the projector is simple and easy.
A few streaming apps come pre-installed, but I was able to get other streaming apps and games on the device that I wanted. The voice-controlled remote is very handy. I speak into the remote instead of typing whenever I can.
I'm very happy with the picture quality and screen size. Making adjustments is easy, and it has excellent connectivity options. This is truly portable. It's small and has a handle to carry it around. It's also made by a brand that I know and trust.

An incredibly bright picture with good loud sound
We love our movie nights when out camping with our friends. I have been using a nice projector but it did lack the intensely bright picture that we wanted, or needed. This projector solves that issue. It is not only bright, but the sound quality is great and the volume level is also very nice. You really do not need a sound system indoors. You can, however, add external sound systems by using the earphone/audio out jack.
It takes some doing to learn all that it does so I still have more to play with but it is generally easy to operate. The Android app it uses is just like the app on our TV set that we have been using for some time so it is quite easy to navigate. You can download many apps to use for your viewing or gaming pleasure. I did experience just a little issue with the auto keystone operation but I feel that it is more me than the projector. There is no manual keystone lever or dial like so many others offer so I will sort it out.
As i already wrote, the picture is quite bright and the sound is great indoors. The picture is crystal clear and the sound is also very clear. It can be used on screens up to 120 inches. We are using a 100 inch screen and it is a perfect fit. There is an option in the programming that allows you to actually size the picture without having to move it closer or farther from the screen. Well, within reason. A large picture up real close to the screen requires the projector to be moved back. But that is reasonable to expect.
I was able to set the remote up as it really does it all by itself. Unfortunately, pairing with my Android phone is another thing. I just could not get it done. I am not saying that the projector was at fault, more likely it was me messing things up. I will eventually get it right. Once started there will be a program update that will take approx 30 minutes to download.
It cones in a nice labeled box and includes the projector and a second box that has the remote (2 AAA batteries not included), charging cable, power supply and cord and the best manual that I have ever seen for a projector.
It is a small unit at about 5 inches tall, 4 inches wide and maybe 4 1/2 deep. There is a handle on the top for carrying. A single on/off button is found on the top with no additional controls anywhere. You must use the remote to navigate and operate. This is something that does not sit well with me. I like not totally relying on a remote. Should the remote fail the phone app might be your only option. I cannot say for sure because, as said earlier, mine did not work. On the back is the remote sensor, the power input, the headphone/audio out jack, a USB plug, an HDMI plug and a power indicator that is red when plugged in and off that turns green when on. No SD card slot are found on this one.
Other than the lack of onboard controls I can't find a single thing to not like about this product. We will be camping with the gang in two weeks and everyone is looking forward to another movie night. This projector will be the hit of the party.

Very good quality resolution
The projector is a good quality compact unit. It has a high quality resolution. The ease of use is a big advantage. The sound is very good for a projector. The screen will project up to 120” and it’s amazingly clear. I would recommend this video projector for the overall design and quality
