REAL REVIEW

REAL MF REVIEW:

I love this thing. Easy to use and it sticks right to the fridge so I don't have to dig in my tools. It's accurate,10 feet long and the tape itself is pretty durable for the price. It's pretty flexible, and I can read it without squinting.

I ONLY gave it four stars because it came in a random color, but honestly is policy. 10/10 would recommend.

Use it almost every day :)

We had ours for years on the fridge! It was always so easy and handy to get to :) ours finally broke and I couldn't believe how many times I went to reach for ir and ot wasn't there :( so I just ordered a new one :)

Junk!!!

I bought three of these based on all the great reviews. Now all three are in the recycling. One fell off the steel wall it was mounted on and smashed to pieces on the floor. They have a PLASTIC shell on a fairly weighty unit! The second was dropped when the tape snapped back to the spool catching my finger and leaving a deep blood bruise on it since there is no way of locking it or stopping it if you don't press and keep holding the side. I dropped it in pain! The third slipped out of my hand trying to hold it in place and also smashed to pieces on the floor. See the pic. We're still looking for the cap which must have rolled under something.

Save your money, AND YOUR FINGERS, and look elsewhere! I'm going back to that tried and true tape measure company I was using my whole life until now. You know, the ones who make those popular water bottles. I've never had one of theirs break.

PS- And be careful when yours breaks- the tape will just keep spooling out thanks to the spring loading, so be prepared!

Oh Yessss!

These are very useful to me as I’m making major renovations at home. Their portability (always one in my pocket) and accuracy are appreciated by me.

They’re not intended to use as I’m using them, and while they loose their tractability after being used for construction vs for sewing, they’re so affordable that it’s worth replacing one after many weeks of heavy duty, frequent use.

So accessible too, just slap on the fridge or a tool and go!

My photos beg the question: which would YOU rather schlep around?

Seemed excellent, demised due to operator error

I liked this. I was relieved to get black instead of the ugly yellow. It was a replacement for one I got my wife a few decades ago that lost its tip to old age. The first time she used it, she was distracted by the "Touch Lock" and pulled the blade out too far. I put the blade in her old case. She says she would have gotten one of the big carpenters tapes for the garden measurements, but she wanted to try the new one. New one doesn't seem repairable.

No lock on it

Great product but there is no way to lock it where it will stay extended without your hand on the tape measure

NO HANDS FREE LOCK

Like the size/look of this. Has different measurements top side & underneath and has a magnet, tho pretty weak, is convenient and a nice touch. It's nice and smooth and I dig the ease of locking it with the thumb when measuring quickly.

HOWEVER, is there really no way to lock it hands free‽‽ that's a huge miss. I use my tape measure nearly every day usually just checking size of online purchases but I also use it to lay out large things like furniture or picture collage placement and with that I need to use it to locked hands free. Bc of that I would not buy this again, but bc im lazy and it's handy magnet for storing on my table I have decided to keep it and just use my old one (the one I was trying to replace) if I need a hands free locking feature. I don't like having 2 of something to do the job of one but here we are.

Small and covenient to store on metal with the strong magnet. Tape doesnt lock when extended,.

Convenient to store with magnetized tape, which doesnt lock while reeled out.

There's no lock! Unless you consider your thumb a lock

There is no lock, unless you consider holding the disk down with your thumb a lock. I sure don't! To advertise it as a touch lock is extremely misleading, no, it's actually a flat out lie.

In order to keep the tape measure from retracting you have to lose the use of a hand to hold the disk down. This tape measure is not what they advertise it as or lead you to believe it is. This is pretty worthless to me without a locking feature.

Convenient and reliable

I've had the gray one for quite a few years. I keep it in my purse and its come in handy many times for unexpected measuring needs. I bought another (yellow) to keep in the house. I love them.

The only tape measure I found that has a full ...

The only tape measure I found that has a full magnet on the back of it. I put this up high on the side of my refrigerator so that children can not steal it. Lol. It’s the only way Mom can have a tape measure handy and it’s always in the same spot. They use to sell these at Walmart but no longer carry them. This is the only place I found them.

Tape Measure

This tape measure works very well. The tape is made of metal and stays in place when you use the touch lock. To use the touch lock you just touch the side of the tape measure that says touch lock and hold your finger on it. When you let go of the touch lock, the tape rewinds by it's self or you can extend the tape. There is a magnet on the other side if you want to use it. The case of this tape measure is a pretty color and is transparent. The colors are at random, so you do not know what color you will get.
