If you’re not picky and simply want a button system for you and your pet, this one is perfect. I bought this based on reviews. I’m glad I did. My little doggy got the hang of it right away. She has had no problems using them. If you speak loud and clear, the recording will obviously sound better. It seems a simple and delicate piece. I gave this 3 stars because I pushed on it once and it got stuck. It took me some time to fix it but it’s perfectly fine now. Maybe I should’ve left it alone, it’s for paws not feet. I do suggest getting a mat for it because they move on the floor and the record button could possibly be hit on the side. The battery life is good. Color and size is great. Good luck & enjoy!
In the picture, you can tell from my excitement I am very happy, my baby Bella double tapped!

Audio could be better but for price, this is great!
I hope to use this product to assist with potty training a 16 year old autistic child. Anything I think will help, I need to try. I will have these placed where he sits. We’ve been successful with random bathroom breaks but I need to work on him letting us know on his own.
Since it came in a 4 pack, I might use two to see if I can train my dog to use them.
Audio isn’t perfect but for price, I can’t knock it down.

Not the surprise I was looking for
The product is exactly what I was looking for, for my sons therapy with the exception of the message left behind by the previous owner saying “deez Nutz” i found it hilarious because it was on the green button that just so happens to be my sons favorite color his therapist did not appreciate it however I checked the other 3 the orange one says “you’re dumb” the purple one is a dogs bark and the blue one says “awoooooooo” 😂😂😂

Voice not clear. Was Looking for cheaper dog training buttons.
Took numerous times to get this good. Had to almost scream to get this volume and quality of words.
Not returning. Working with it. Will buy next level if dog gets the hang of it.
No skid on the floor with attached button pads. So close, but a miss for me.
Game wise? You be the judge.

Ripped off a teacher
I am so upset at the quality of this product. I bought two boxes of these buzzers before school started for a fun review games with my students. This was the first time I needed to use them, so I opened the buzzers on Friday to find out they don't work. I brought them home for my husband to look at, and we discovered that they all had old batteries in them that were corroded and melted, so none of them work. We even tried cleaning them out and adding new batteries, with no luck. I missed the return date by one month. What a rip off! This company should be ashamed of themselves.

Potty training my dog 🐕
I don’t like how accessible the recording button is (on the side) I have to frequently re-record when I go to pick up the button because I accidentally hit it and reset it. If I wasn’t using it for training my dogs to signal me to bring them to go potty, I would say they are probably much more durable.

Do not buy. Not worth the effort.
The speaker is located on the bottom, which makes total sense right? But the volume on these is so low, you'd wish the speaker was on the top. And the audio quality, when you can hear it, is horrendous.
I bought these because the price for four was right for this project.
I am sending these back, because they are completely useless on this project.
Definitely a one star product that looks like they spent more time and effort on the packaging than on the actual product.

Teaching my foster cats to talk
I love these. I've been using it to train my foster cat Ripley to communicate with us and ask for what she wants. The sound quality is good but I feel like it differs with each button. Be loud and pronounciate your words as much as you can. I totally recommend these & they're affordable. I added Velcro as some sort of Braille I made up so it's easier for her to find the buttons she needs.

There is a dud!
I didn't give it 5 stars because my green one won't play back anything I record. And the box was a bit damaged when it had arrived. But returning it is to much of a hassle and my dog is already attached to them so I can just return them and wait for new ones my dog would be confused and depressed. So hopefully when I buy another box it all of them will work. Definitely has changed my relationship with my dog.

Not perfect but they do the job
I bought these to teach my cat to “talk” with a few months ago. It takes a few tries to get a clear sound when recording, and like many others have said it is really easy to reset with the red button on the side. I can see how that might happen on accident, but I haven’t had any issues with it myself. Although the sound quality isn’t amazing they work well for the reason I bought them!

Great for dogs!
I started using the button for my little puppy to communicate with us! Unfortunately, the orange button received in the box is defective and won’t work with any batteries we put in :( The others button work great.

Good!
I use these buttons for my dog. They’re relatively durable and the battery life is good. The only issue I have with them is that if the buttons are pushed too hard, they get stuck or rotate in a weird way. But I’ve always been able to fix them to work again!

Buy them because they are the cheapest, then modify them
Some people have reviews saying one button stops working. But, they are the cheapest of the buttons, so you'll buy them anyway. So far, I've not experience this problem.
The real problems I have found are 1) the record button is way to easily bumped, thus erasing your previous message recorded; 2) the battery life seems very short.
For problem 1): see my pics: but you can pop off the rubber feet to reveal four screws. Unscrew these to disassemble the entire device, and the red record button will pop out of place when you open up the device. I just taped the red button inside should I want it again, and reassembled. Reassembly: rotate the black dome of the top of the device until it falls into the top ring, where 2 notches hold it from rotating. That's how you know you have the dome in place properly. Then put the backing back on, and there's one notch to align this. Rescrew it, put the rubber feet back on, and done. Now the record button is missing the red cover, and the digital button inside, which is white, is recessed and revealed inside the hole where the red record button was. In other words, you must now put something into this recessed button to record, so no more accidental erasure of your previous recordings. See the pic.
2) The backing for the device has a slot, almost as if it was designed to allow to wires to go into the device and power it rather than the battery. I'll investigate in the future, but a large board of buttons for dog training would be best run off of DC power, with each button wired, so that there's no need to keep up with the batteries. That's my future plan.
Good luck. Bottom line: these could be better, but they are the cheapest, so you won't shop for those that may in fact be better but are 50% pricier.

One pack was worth it. IDK about more.
3 STARS FOR -QUALITY- and -QUANTITY vs COST- - 4 STARS FOR THE EXPERIENCE:
-QUALITY: The construction is very good. We have 10 pound dogs and 150 pound dog. They all can use them well. The button is not too hard for our little ones, they push it just fine.
-QUANTITY vs COST: I think COVID is a vehicle for Exploitation of Consumers by Sellers everywhere. Although, this was the lowest price anywhere, it was still more than the product is worth in function and construction. It's true that the SOUND QUALITY IS POOR. SOME UNITS ARE CLEARER THAN OTHERS INCONSISTENTLY AND THERE'S A LEARNING CURVE TO RECORDING INTELLIGIBLE SOUND. IT REQUIRES RECORDING A FEW TO SEVERAL TIMES TO FIND A "SWEET SPOT" WITH YOUR VOICE THAT MAKES THE RECORDING UNDERSTANDABLE TO HUMANS OR ANIMALS. With all that effort spent, as you hold it in your hand... the price throbs a bit in you mind. For me, this item (4 for aprox $20/free shipping) is only worth $8 - $12/free shipping for a 4 pack. But it's COVID and... this is the lowest price (doesn't make it worth it) for this item... right now.
-EXPERIENCE: So for a FleaMarket quality product (performance wise) I put up with rerecording multiple times most every time until I get one that my dogs can understand and when they use it... IT IS A LOT OF FUN!! THEY USED IT THE FIRST DAY AND EVER SINCE.
WOULD I BUY AGAIN?
YES...ONLY! ...ONLY Because of HOW MUCH -THEY- LOVE TO USE IT.
WILL I BUY A LOT OF THEM?
NO. But I will buy more...UNLESS.. I can improvise my own using other means WHEN I can obtain those parts. I WILL ONLY BUY ONE OR TWO MORE OF THIS TYPE OF SET... GOOD GRIEF!! IT'S ONLY PLASTIC AND IT IS NOT THAT EASY TO GET IT TO RECORD CLEARLY. ALIBABA MIGHT BE MY NEXT PURCHASE SOURCE. IF I DECIDE I WANT TO GO WITH THESE IF I DON'T FIND MY PARTS SOURCE AS SOON AS I WANT.
It's worth a box or two to see if your DOG likes them. But if you want to really get into this, you can find a cheaper Way or Source. THE MORE QUANTITY YOU BUY, THE LOWER THE QUALITY VALUE SEEMS TO BE WORTH IT.
SUMMARY:
Price vs Quality AND Quantity... NO.
Experience... YES. IF THE YOU CAN CONTINUE TO ENJOY HAVING FUN WITH YOUR PET, THEN YOU'RE PAYING FOR THAT HAPPINESS IF THE VALUE IT BRINGS IS WORTH THE PRICE TO YOU. IF YOU'RE MORE SERIOUS ABOUT YOUR DOG'S LEARNING, YOU MIGHT APPRECIATE THE VALUE OF A PRODUCT THAT MAKES IT EASIER ON BOTH YOU AND YOUR PET. .. THE PRICE, QUALITY AND ENJOYMENT WILL BALANCE AND WON'T MAKE YOUR HEAD THROB.
BUY ONE SET. TRY IT OUT. THE PRICE IS PROBABLY WORTH FINDING OUT HOW YOU AND YOUR PET FEEL ABOUT IT.

A great option for dog buttons
Durable buttons and very easy to use/record. The sound quality isn't as good as I was hoping for, and the button has to be pressed right in the middle for them the work.
I use these buttons for my dog to communicate and she’s able to use this easily.

Awesome!
I purchased these recordable buttons hoping that they would be durable enough to train my dog to press them for certain words to communicate with us easier, such as, blue button I recorded to say "treat", purple says "outside", etc. These buttons ended up being so much more than I expected! They have held up 100% to my 130lb. dog and his heavy paws, and within 2 weeks he was starting to use his buttons on a regular basis to communicate with us! These have made our lives so much easier! They came packaged nicely and arrived quickly! I will definitely be purchasing more as we introduce new words into our fur babies vocabulary!

Great product, BUT one of the buttons I received is defective.
These are exactly as described and as pictured. Instructions are very easy to follow. Literally just unscrew the battery cover on the back (you'll need a tiny screwdriver from an eyeglass kit or something for this since it's NOT included), pop two AAA batteries into each button (batteries also NOT included), then record whatever you want!
I finally found the tiny screwdriver that was hiding in my junk drawer and started unscrewing each one to put the batteries in. This worked just fine on three of the buttons; HOWEVER the green button's screw was so tightly wound in, it will NOT come out. I've tried for 20+ minutes and instead of getting it open, I've only managed to strip the head of the screw as well as both ends of the tiny screwdriver.
I'm half tempted to pry the whole thing apart and break the plastic cover so that I can actually use all 4 buttons. For now, I've given up. I realize it's sortof a fluke and I would assume most do not arrive like this where you literally cannot open it. I just am hopeful that maybe the manufacturer will be able to send me a replacement for the one button that I cannot use at this time. Will post update to review if that happens.

They work!!!!!
After only three days of using these buttons for my dog he already is thoroughly enjoying pressing the button to go outside!! For the first few days he did not get it, and then suddenly it was like that paragraph in Helen Keller when she makes the connection between words being a form of communication and he is now obsessed with it. I also have buttons for “hungry” “thirsty” and “play” but he has yet to make the connection with those. I look forward to watching him figure out that he can communicate with me now! These are just wonderful! Easy to press with his nose or paws and he is a pretty small dog. Wish they were just a touch louder.

I love these!!
I love these!!!!! This is my second set. I may buy a third. Saw some dogs on YouTube that use them to communicate. Thought may be fun to try with our rescue puppy.
These are great. She has learned 8 words and I can hear from upstairs or back in my office. Recordings are clear - If it doesn’t sound loud enough just re-record it with a louder voice. Some of them I did have to re-record a couple of times until it was what I wanted. She tells me when she is hungry and what she wants whether it is a treat or her dinner. She tells if she has to go outside, wants to play (and with what), or if she wants to cuddle. It’s so much fun.
The buttons are easy for her to press and always work. And trust me. She uses them. Especially if I don’t respond quickly enough.
I may hear “hungry” “treat” repeated. Be careful what you teach hahaha.
Definitely recommend these. Great price and work fine for me.
We used our LabelMaker to put a level on it with the word so I would know which was which easily if they happened to get moved or I pick up to clean floor etc.

Muddled sound, 1 button dead on arrival
I got these to train my dog on a couple of tricks. They are marginally functional, but I will be looking for recordable buttons with decent sound going forward. Adding to the sound problem, one button was dead on arrival.
Recording should be simple: press a little red button on the side, wait for a beep, talk or play music, let the red button go. Pressing down on the big button then plays your recording—in a muffled, mushy way. I tried making my recording while holding the button close, far away, upside down: no difference.
And super annoying: each button takes 2 AAA batteries, and the battery compartment is held shut with a tiny Phillips-head screw (think eyeglass-size screwdriver). Child safety and all that, but the manufacturer should include a little tool to do it if they insist on this level of child safety.

Difficult to bop
I was inspired by Tiktok videos and fueled by pandemic lockdown boredom to teach my dog to "talk" via these buttons. He's only 30lbs but these buttons are a bit small and when he does make contact they don't always respond to his "bop". Or maybe he just has bad aim? I thought about performing surgery (on the button, not my dog) to tweak the "bopping" mechanism but at $5 a pop (pun intended) I might just return them instead.
Weirdo.

Dog training
I bought these to try to train my dog. We are just beginning the training so not much progress yet. They are easy to record on, hold the red button and speak. You do have to speak clearly and the recorded word is a little muffled, but you can understand it. I would buy these again.

Really cool to use in order to teach your dog communication skills!
I bought these to teach my dog some commands. She’s already catching on! The only thing is the voice recorder doesn’t seem to catch some of the audio even when I enunciate. Example, when I record my saying “bone” it sounds like “own” and you can’t here the “buh” sound the B makes. Other than that, a really fun tool.

Love this product Great for pretty much anything
Bought these to train my service animal to help alert me or others when I am in a crisis they work great you can record anything on them for your kids to use and speaking of which I gave another box to my daughter and her brother so they could use those and they just sit there and have fun with them Love these recommend them for a gift or for dogs or anything only downfall is I thought they might have came with batteries but they didn't they take two triple A's a piece so there's that but the battery is last a while as long as you're not constantly pressing the button like I said love them recommend them for anything great product will purchase again if I need more in the future

Great product - Shipping was problematic.
The Product it self works as described. The audio speaker is cheap so when the button is pushed the audio can be hard to hear or doesn’t come through clear. However for the price I won’t complain about that, it works for my purposes just fine.
Easy to record a message, easy to play, no
Problems.
This came in the normal product box with a shipping label slapped on it. I had 2 problems, the day it was delivered it was raining. So the 25 feet from the UPS truck to my door the box got wet and fell apart leaving me with no game box to store the buttons in, had I not of been home this would of sat outside and given it fell apart already in the 15 seconds expose to the rain had it been left outside I guarantee the product devices would of been ruined. It was also lucky since the box started falling apart quickly the buttons them selfs didn’t get really wet, only a few drops of water.
I realize somehow this was shipped under frustration free packaging but I’ve never selected that ever so to avoid these problems. I prefer the normal shipping boxes to keep what I buy safe and discrete.
The product it self I have no complaints about, only shipping. I’ve been seeing more and more of my products shipped like this without me selecting frustration free shipping.

We Wanna Be Cool Like Stella *Sigh*
I saw Stella the Dog using these and thought I would try teaching my service dog some words during Quarantine! We started with "Outside" and "Cookie". He quickly caught on to the concept. Laying there watching a movie..."Outside", "Outside", "Outside"..."No outside Bud!" Continues on for 5-10 min, then he proceeds to play hockey with it, then he picks it up and crunches it... I have a few similar stories, but he does comprehend, though he is no Stella. I have Canine Psych and Child Psych degrees and I can see many ways these can be useful in both fields. I had to have my sister buy my 2 more after he crunched the one.

Recordable Buttons
I purchased these three separate times about 3-4 weeks apart. The first pack worked perfectly. The second and third packs not so much. Three of the eight buttons (2 packs) were broken. I had to change BRAND NEW in the broken ones every day! After a week I threw away the broken buttons because I had enough. The buttons that are functioning are great! I taught my dog to use them and so far, she hasn’t broken any (90 lb German Shepard). I need more but I’m not willing to pay $25+ for them.

Rise of the talking dogs!
Following in the footsteps of speech pathologist Christina Hunger and her dog Stella (@hunger4words on IG) I bought these for my French bulldog puppy. She’s 16 weeks old and is taking to them very quickly! I’ve already bought a second pack so we can add more words to her board.
Another reviewer mentioned it would be better if the record/delete button were underneath or needed a pin to be pressed (like reset buttons on some devices) and I couldn’t agree more...my dog has erased a couple words already by accidentally hitting the side button. They’re not hard to re-record, but still. It might also be nice if in a future design, you didn’t need a tiny screwdriver to open the battery compartment.
The sound quality isn’t the very best, you have to really enunciate certain letter sounds for them to be heard. The sound quality also isn’t 100% consistent...some buttons record louder or more muffled despite being recorded in the same conditions at the same mic distance. But, they all function properly and I still LOVE these! They work great for our needs. I’m so stoked my dog can communicate to me exactly what she wants.

AAC backup plan
Special ed teachers: these buttons aren’t too bad. Each take 2 AAA batteries. There is no volume control and sound quality isn’t the greatest; that being said, if your school budget is tight like mine, and you can’t order the super expensive AbleNet version, these are a decent backup for when your students are having technical/ battery issues with their primary AAC device/ communication system. These will record SHORT phrases which are useful at morning meeting or during social skills groups, etc. (think “my turn” or “good morning.” Phrases are quick and easy to record, so you can change them as soon as you need to. You can always attach PECS from Boardmaker with Velcro and change them as needed. Pairing the visual with the audio is always VERY helpful.
