Wl300: excellent Bluetooth travel mouse

The WL300 does include a battery, a high-quality alkaline cell.

Having had too many expensive Logitech MX Anywhere mouse buttons fail shortly after the warranty runs out, I decided to switch back to Lenovo, and so far, so good. The much less expensive Lenovo WL300 is as good or better in most ways.

The shape fits my hand a bit better, and I like that it's lighter.

Tracking and precision are excellent, button and wheel action likewise.

It pairs a bit slower than Logitech, but not enough to matter.

I plan to switch to an Eneloop rechargeable battery when the included alkaline cell dies.

Good for an extra mouse on a budget!

This is a review of “Lenovo Bluetooth Silent Mouse (WL300) - 5 Button Computer Mouse with Silent Left & Right Click – Sculpted Grip, Microsoft Swift Pair, Up to 1600 DPI (Grey)”.

The Thjinkplus WL300 mouse appears to be aimed right at the budget market. The WL300 connects by Bluetooth only - there is no dongle, and pairing with a Windows 11 machine is as simple as turning the mouse on when next to your desktop/laptop - the pairing screen in Windows will automatically come up. There’s also adjustable DPI (3 settings) by clicking a button below the scroll wheel and two side buttons in addition to the normal controls available on any modern scroll mouse.

In my testing, the mouse worked well on paper or on a mouse pad, but became jerky when I tried to use it directly on my desktop with no pad - the desktop was perhaps a little too reflective for this mouse to function properly, although my other mouse didn’t have trouble with the desk surface. The two main mouse buttons are silent, but the scroll wheel and side buttons are audibly clicky.

Aligning with this being a budget mouse, there are no rubber grips here - the whole device except for the scroll wheel is plain plastic which makes the mouse more slippery in the hand than more premium options. The entire thing is extremely light even with the battery in (AA size). You won’t mistake this for a gaming mouse or a more premium device, but for the cost it’s not bad.

Works as expected!

This is a solid bluetooth mouse. The clicks are silent and it has all features I would expect in a modern bluetooth mouse. Scroll wheel is smooth. I actually prefer that it uses a single AA battery, as it's easier to replace and don't need to worry about charging it. It is compact enough to throw in my laptop bag for travel.

Overall, really happy with it
