All-in-one rig that just makes everything easy

Sick, the Line 6 HX Stomp is basically the center of the universe for my pedalboard right now.

I grabbed it because I was tired of juggling a million pedals and cables, and this thing just replaced like half my setup without killing the vibe. It’s insane how much is packed into such a small box—amps, cabs, effects, routing… everything just works.

What really sold me is how fast you can go from idea to sound. You don’t get stuck tweaking forever—you just dial in a tone and it’s immediately usable. The tones feel legit too, not like “computer guitar,” especially once you start stacking drives and delays.

It also plays really nice with real pedals, which surprised me. You can still keep your favorite overdrive or compressor in front and use the HX Stomp as the brain, which makes the whole setup super flexible.

Honestly it’s one of those “why doesn’t everyone just use this?” units. Small, powerful, and stupidly practical for writing, jamming, or gigging 🤘

Great addition to my pedal board

More powerful than the bigger multi-effects pedal in an ultra-compact size. A great addition for your pedal board. The overdrive effects are not great, so I added my own OD-1 pedal to it. I'll probably be adding a good compressor later too. But other than that, this machine is a monster.

Horrible service

Unit was shipped used with no power supply or manual no seal and had scratches and Velcro on bottom. That refused replacement and I contacted Josh at line 6 still no help.

Incredible Tone in a Compact Unit!

The HX Stomp is an absolute game-changer! Despite its small size, it delivers studio-quality amp modeling and effects that rival much larger and more expensive units. The sound quality is phenomenal, with rich, dynamic tones that work perfectly for both live performances and recording sessions. The interface is intuitive, making it easy to tweak presets and customize tones, yet it offers deep editing options for those who want to fine-tune their sound. It integrates seamlessly into any setup, whether as a standalone unit, part of a pedalboard, or even as an audio interface. For anyone looking for professional-grade sound in a portable package, this is a must-have. Highly recommended! 🎸🔥

Noise/Buzz DSP problem

Was working fine at the beginning and not even used for continuously 2 weeks and it suddenly started to make noise. I did factory reset, googled for solution but nothing helped. At this point, it was totally unusable.

The end of guitar amps for me.

Once you learn how to use this thing, the sky is the limit. I recommend downloading some presets and ir's. You'll want a good starting point and the stock presets aren't the greatest in my opinion. Definitely experiment with some third party IR's but don't overlook the included cabs and microphones. Many many tones can be made from those alone. Then you have all the amp sims plus the amp/cab combos.... I've found the built in cabs are actually really good. Mostly because of all the different mics you can choose from for each cab. Literally any guitar tone you can think of, you can sculpt it on this thing.

The effects, reverbs and delays are plentiful and great sounding. The wahs, whammy and pitch shifters are a lot of fun too if you get an optional expression pedal. (I recommend the M-audio expression pedal. It works good and its cheap)

I can't say how it sounds plugged into an amp as a "multi effects" unit because I use amp modeling and run direct into either, a powered studio monitor, headphones, or a 12" Headrush frfr speaker. I would assume the hx stomp would make a great multi effect unit for an amp setup based on the functionality and quality of the effects.

It's built like a tank and has mind blowing power for something so small. It's worth it's price absolutely. Support is top notch.

No cons. Only positives.

*if you're looking for a desktop stand for the hx stomp, a small bookstand works great. You can see how I use it in my pictures.

White Screen of Death!!!

White screen of death. My pedal came defective. After a month of using the pedal, it became useless because the screen goes white. I tried everything and nothing worked: factory reset, hard reboot, upgrade firmware, usb plugging. At some point I thought the Helix Edit plugged with USB cable was fixing this issue but the white screen of death issue reappears intermittent specially within 15 to 30 minutes of use. This is unreliable pedal if you are playing live on stage, you won't be able to do anything. I need someone from Line 6 to fix this issue.

Great unit at this price point

Unit was easy navigate and program. The only problem is the limited number of blocks to program (six blocks). So i if you add amps and cabs you cannot fit in as many effects as you might like to. We will see if that becomes a real problem as we use it. This is why I docked one star.

There was one problem that I want to mention. My unit came with the serial # completely blacked out and unreadable on the box (See photo). I will update this if the replacement has any issue like this. Hoping it is an isolated incident.

I wanted a small-ish modeler with great sounds...

and that is exactly what I got. Huge library of models, great tones throughout, fantastic connectivity, wonderful desktop editing software (editing on the device isn't bad either), and very portable. In my photo you can see it mounted to a PedalTrain Metro 20. I have the wireless and tuner going into the input, the 3 overdrives in the effects loop, and a 2 button add on for additional foot control (you can add MIDI as well). I love it!
